Weekend Thread 14 August 2021

Sunday is the 76th Anniversary of victory over Japan . It would be nice to think it will be properly commemorated – but somehow the BBC will be interested in other things …

Top US diplomat evacuated to Kabul airport

“The top US diplomat in Afghanistan, Chargé d’Affaires Ross Wilson, has fled the embassy.
He has been relocated to Kabul airport, according to a US official.
The US flag which flew over the embassy has also been taken to the airport and will be removed from the country.”

Guess they’ll take their gay flag too

Did VJ Day even get a passing mention on the bBC today?

Angel Radio have been playing speeches from the archives, personal memories, wartime music and I believe a 2-minute silence.

The bBC haven’t got a clue – just waiting (and they can’t wait) for the oldies to all die. They have no sense or understanding of history.

      Colonel Kemp’s latest article

BBC: Leading the World Against Israel
      by Richard Kemp
      https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/17646/bbc-against-israel?fbclid=IwAR2jPUll5dLf5LZotobeJFV-6sZK01EX7nY9YpnB46id1CPGFcefp_tTN7g

The extract below is his conclusion .

Senior BBC producer Alaa Daraghme recently shared a video on Twitter which he wrote was “An Israeli settler ramming a Palestinian man near the Lions Gate.” In fact the video showed a car being driven onto the sidewalk after an attempt by Palestinians to lynch the driver, who then lost control. There are many other such cases of bias and distortion among BBC staff.

      · Like many others, the BBC rejects or ignores historical reality in order to portray Israel as an illegal occupier of Arab lands. To underpin its false narrative, for many years it has repeated Palestinian propaganda, ignored violence against their own people, and whitewashed their Jew-hate…. Israel’s contributions to disaster relief and other humanitarian actions around the world are almost always ignored.
      · There is little likelihood, without firm intervention by the British government, that the BBC will relinquish its leadership of the global anti-Israel movement that has contributed to so much suffering, misery and bloodshed.

With the astonishing apparent total lack of any resistance or backbone from the Afghan government troops I am left with the conclusion that they have been duping the US and UK all along and simply picking up the billions that have been poured into their pockets.

Why else are the Taliban able to move forward at will almost without having to fire a shot?

I think that every Nation has a level of backbone and truth built-in in their citizens that is an integral part the national character, however in this part of the World that simply does not apply, they are more than happy to use deceit to get what they want. After all it is a central tenet of the Koran.

The Taliban have not “fought” their way into all these cities, they have simply walked in.

Yes, that’s right digg. One of the latest to fall, mentioned on RadioFlaw this a.m., was a walk in for the Taliban. The local chiefs did not want their city damaged during fighting.

Countryfile complains there is a planning crisis cos “only 1 in 5 councils have a CHARTERED ecologists”
that term is a bit of cherry pick ..out of all the types of enviro-experts

..Well when I was at university the streets were full of them
    Oh hangon that’s a lie
cos ” IEEM became the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) on 1st April 2013.”

so CHARTERED ecologists have only been around for 8 years
And the government guy did try to make the point that councils are free to hire in ecologist consultants rather than have them on staff.

      but does the government’s drive

        Fed,

It needs a firmer hand to deal with the Taliban. Russia have learned from their failed invasion of Afghanistan back in the 1980’s.

I anticipate that they will react in the same way as they did with ISIS – bomb the **** out of the place. They will of course have political support from China and me.

That’s not how it works at the BBC Dover Sentry. It doesn’t hurt Jon at all. Jon is just pushing the latest BBC agenda. Donald Trump has been destroyed and is more or less yesterdays news. Today’s news is about the BBC demanding that the US bomb the Taliban to smithereens and put US lives at risk because the BBC hate anything resembling a patriarchal society. The Taliban taking back control of Afghanistan more or less unopposed and peaceably has been reported by the BBC as a War Against Humanity and a War Against Women.

I have previously given an example of the BBC condemning Diane Abbott for not agreeing with them that Assad and his supporters should be bombed into oblivion. However a few weeks later they were still lauding Diane Abbott as one of the greatest women of the 20th and 21st Century for her heroism in overcoming a racist and sexist English society in becoming the first black woman MP or something.

In my opinion the BBC should send one of their esteemed
Islamic reporters to get one of the righteous imams to help us
to understand that when Afghanistan comes under the Taliban’s
version of sharia law in Afghanistan which amputations are
deemed worthy in sharia law. What stoning to death comes
into play. To what age can a girl go to school . Will the judges show more tolerance in allowing
12 year old girls be allowed to go to school . And if they try to,
and are not allowed to. Which of their limbs will be amputated?
The BBC do their best to educate us under their agenda.
Understanding the new laws for us in Afghanistan will be a
great education for many of us. It may even want us to become an adherent to the religion of peace.

For my sins I did hear a radio news item
where a female BBC reporter put questions about women’s rights to a Taliban chief.
It could be in BBC’s Yalda Hakim’s full 30 min interview
linked to from this 2 minute version : https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-asia-58220305

      Now the website one says
A Taliban spokesman has vowed that the militants will respect the rights of women, and the press, as it prepares for a transition of power from Afghanistan’s civilian government.

Sunday’s statements by the Taliban appear to be aimed at quelling global concern.

The spokesman said that women would be allowed to leave their houses alone and would continue to have access to education and work.
