‘Germany has seen several days of record infections this week, and Health Minister Jens Spahn has spoken of “a national emergency that requires a combined national effort”. ‘

Those Germans….if only they had locked down earlier….have to say somewhat surprised that the amazing Germans whose incredible foresight and organisation, according to the BBC, prevented a wave of deaths in the first covid outbreak should be once again staring down the barrel as cases and deaths mount.

Surely they could have built on the successful crisis management that they used in the first wave with all the knowledge that they have since gained about how the virus spreads and experience in how to control it with all the measures available. No?

Sometimes you have to think it is just pure luck who gets hit hardest…and no amount of measures or knowledge will stop the spread of the virus. It is clear that no matter if you locked down hard or didn’t do so you were just as likely to, or not to, suffer lots of cases and deaths.

The BBC, instead of using facts or indeed ‘The Science’, decided to just lay into the government and say it was their actions, or inactions, that led to thousands of unnecessary deaths when clearly it was more just that ‘stuff happens’ and there probably wasn’t a lot the government could have done at the end of the day.

And…if lockdowns work how is it that yet again the virus is on the rampage? Lockdowns clearly don’t really work [even WHO said they should be a last, last resort] and destroy the economy to boot…along with education and the NHS itself ironically.

‘Sexist’ Benny Hill is back on TV for first time in nearly 20 years: Freeview channel serves up Christmas season of old favourites from Carry On movies to Beadle’s About

Benny Hill Show was famous for comedian chasing scantily-clad young women
Surprise comeback on That’s TV Christmas some 19 years after it was last shown
His show on BBC and ITV consisted of short and often risqué comedy sketches
Hill was dumped by Thames TV in 1989 amid fears his show was sexist and vulgar

Benny Hill is dead. Long live Benny Hill. Benny Hill made me and millions of people laugh, which is more than any of these, what I like to call “Alternative to Comedians” people can or will ever do. Socialists don’t do comedy because they just cannot laugh at themselves.
I was for most of my life a dedicated Socialist until Mr Bliar taught me what a complete and gullible arsehole I had been. So thanks Tone.

On average I would estimate that I deliberately dehydrate 3 times during the night but last night, for some inexplicable, (coffee nightcap related) reason my bladder dictated that I deliberately dehydrate 6 times. (bloody annoying)
Can any of you folks here advise me as to how I might avoid this very annoying occurrence in the future or would you advise me to consult an “expert”? I would prefer that said “expert” has not been subjected to the indoctrination classes at UNI. (which I know is a big ask) as I fear that their best advice may well be, as their tee shirt proclaims “JUST DO IT!. In other words just go ahead and piss the bed. Well, I tried that and Mrs Wright was not amused.

Fed, Peeing regularly during the night is not usually a sign of prostate problems but … may be. LW’s problem could be two or three different things but I’m not a Doc just ‘an oldie with experiences’. First thing to check is dehydration, second is UTI. A litre of Cranberry Juice will help to nail both those before Monday or midweek at least.

LW – Yes, my layman’s prognosis is that it is a common problem for us chaps of advancing years – a benign enlarged prostate gland – ask your GP about taking a daily capsule of Tamsulosin which I have found very helpful – but you may be advised to give up your coffee nightcap although I have to admit my late night tipple is usually a glass or 2 of Malbec and still manage to make it through to about 7 a.m.! Not had any side effects with this medication. Your GP might suggest a rectal examination to check your prostate before going any further. Must be some way of linking the bbbc into this post!

Lefty, sounds like a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) to me.

Try drinking a litre of Cranberry Juice tomorrow in half-full glasses at various times during the day plus your usual drinks during the day. Stop drinking at 8pm and empty your bladder before going to bed. If the symptoms repeat over Sunday night, make that appointment with your GP first thing on Monday morning. When you get to see or talk to your GP tell them what you did with the Cranberry and other drinks during Saturday and the results. Also tell your GP the advice you got here. Keep your hydration levels up.

        Are you taking statins?

I told my GP what you said and she advised me to stop using the Internet and start using my instinct. You know what? I took her advice and I’ve not pissed the bed once ever since and Mrs Wright is so happy. She even suggested that perhaps maybe we could have an early night. Christ Almighty there must be SOME limits to happiness.

Taff some people at the start of this said the vaccines could track you because of bill gates involvement. Ridiculous but isn’t it strange that we get covid then the vaccine then the passports.
In essence now wherever the vaccinated go they get checked and signed in. The vaccines don’t track but the resultant passports to know where you are and when. This must be resisted or the future is bleak for vaccinated or none vaccinated people. We want our old normal back not some new 1984 normal

BBC and other media groups reporting on the Kyle Rittenhouse not guilty verdict are so quick to call the Kenosha protests that mainly peaceful.

Really, really ……………………….. . That well known right-wing outlet (sarcasm intended) Wikepedia offers something very different as follows –

“………..Kenosha’s mayor requested $30 million in aid from the state to cover the extensive damage.Damage to private property could be as high as $50 million, according to estimates from the Kenosha Area Business Alliance. This includes the 100-year-old Danish Brotherhood Lodge which was burned down when 40 buildings were destroyed and an additional 100 buildings damaged. On October 2, 2020, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives released photos and videos of suspected arsonists, offering up to $5,000 reward for each person identified.”.

Come on BBC you have got to do a hell of a lot better than this. You used to be so good at lying. You really have lost the plot. I can see why Kuessenberg, Marr, Mair, and others are leaving like rats.

The truth that will NEVER be heard on the bbc:

The liberals who acted as Rittenhouse’s judge and jury before hearing a word of evidence: How Joe Biden, ‘The Squad’ and liberal media smeared Kyle Rittenhouse by branding him a white supremacist and domestic terrorist

Then-Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden tweeted a campaign video depicting Rittenhouse as a white supremacist
Politifact inaccurately reported that the teen violated the law by carrying a rifle in Wisconsin
Esquire described Rittenhouse’s behavior as ‘terrorist tourism’
The Intercept referred to the former youth police cadet as one of several apparent, ‘white supremacist defendants’
Rep. Ayanna Pressley accused Rittenhouse of being a ‘white supremacist domestic terrorist’
‘The View’s’ Joy Behar echoed the oft-repeated falsehood that the teen illegally crossed state lines with a weapon
Rep. Ilhan Omar declared Rittenhouse ‘executed two people’ in Kenosha
The chairman of the House Democratic Caucus called to ‘lock up’ the Illinois teen even as his trial was still underway
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough falsely claimed that the then-17-year-old’s mother drove him ‘across state lines’ to Kenosha

Former New York Times journalist says the paper deliberately HELD her story condemning Kenosha rioters until after 2020 election: ‘The reality of what brought Kyle Rittenhouse into the streets was one we were meant to ignore’

Bowles wrote a piece about how the riots destroyed the lives and livelihoods of local business owners, many of whom were not white
She submitted it to The Times but was told it ‘wouldn’t run until after the election’
She says journalists in a wider sense were ‘meant to ignore’ the anarchy in Kenosha that was caused by BLM protests descending into chaos
Biden had called Rittenhouse a ‘white supremacist’ in the months before he was elected
Trump said the riots were dangerous and Rittenhouse acted in self-defense
The story eventually ran on November 9 after Biden had been elected
Bowles recently quit The Times to work with her partner, fellow former Times reporter Bari Weiss
They both say they became disillusioned with the newspaper’s clear political bias to the left

How Kenosha was doomed before Rittenhouse even picked up his gun: Gov Tony Evers rushed to condemn Jacob Blake shooting that sent rioters to small Wisconsin town then turned down help from Trump as local cops were outnumbered 2:1

Governor Tony Evers tweeted a condemnation of the Jacob Blake shooting on August 23, the day it happened
He said he ‘stood with’ all those protesting against racial injustice and that their voices should be heard
Within 24 hours, the town of Kenosha was besieged by rioters who torched cars and local businesses
On August 24, there were 1,000 protesters at the courthouse alone but fewer than 500 cops on the ground
Governor Evers only sent 125 National Guard troops on the first nights of the riot, to help only 300 local cops
