Start the Week 17 January 2022 THE DORRIES ANNOUNCEMENT

Is it possible that the government has finally realised that the State Broadcaster is at war with it ? And is going to do something about it – by freezing the Licence fee ? It will be a small step towards the end of the BBC in its current form – and can’t come too soon. The government must put something in the coming manifesto about changing the BBC too .

Lord Tony Hall to earn £532,000 as new BBC boss by drawing pension on top of salary
New BBC director-general,Tony Hall, has already been drawing his BBC pension for a year.

      By Gordonrayner
      22 November 2012 • 10:00pm
Lord Hall, the new director-general of the BBC, will earn £532,000 a year from the corporation because he already draws an £82,000 pension which will be added to his £450,000 salary, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.

The current chief executive of the Royal Opera House was the only candidate interviewed by the BBC Trust to replace George Entwistle, who quit earlier this month over the Lord McAlpine affair.

Lord Patten, the chairman of the Trust, said the 61-year-old former BBC News chief was the “outstanding candidate” for the job and was a unanimous choice among the trustees.

Lord Hall said he cared “passionately” about the BBC and would build a “world class team” to lead it.

But the cross-bench peer, who will take up the position next March, faced immediate questions about his financial package, which will allow him to continue drawing £82,000 a year from the BBC’s gilt-edged pension scheme on top of his salary.

2012 … “Two and a half years ago, the coalition government was formed, and we made a clear promise to the British public. After thirteen years of uncontrolled mass immigration, this government would reduce and control immigration.” – Theresa May 2012

2015 … “Because when immigration is too high (no figure given), when the pace of change is too fast, it’s impossible to build a cohesive society.” – Theresa May 2015

2018 … “Over the years, overall, immigration has been good for the UK. It has brought people with different backgrounds, different outlooks here to the UK,” – Theresa May 2018

The claimants’ case is that children and young persons under 18 are not competent to
give consent to the administration of puberty blocking drugs. Further, they contend that
the information given to those under 18 by the defendant is misleading and insufficient
to ensure such children or young persons are able to give informed consent. They
further contend that the absence of procedural safeguards, and the inadequacy of the
information provided, results in an infringement of the rights of such children and

    3 were 10 or 11 years old at the time of referral;
    13 were 12 years old;

I think I was told in primary school that koalas only ate from certain trees of the same species as other trees’ leaves were toxic to them.

Pretty smart then not to eat leaves of unkown origin.

We, with our larger brains, welcome in toxic strangers of unknown origin. Not so smart then?

Images of an Israeli citizen inside a mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia, have caused anger among Arab users on social media.

Russian-born Ben Tzion, 31, has been posting photos of himself visiting Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

His Facebook page includes photos of him inside Medina Prophet’s Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites.

“People of Saudi Arabia would stand with the Jewish nation side by side,” he said in a Facebook post with a photo of him performing the Saudi sword dance in a traditional ankle-length garment known as a “thobe”.

“Peace in the Middle East with respect and love towards each other,” he said in another post.

Non-Muslims are prohibited from visiting Mecca and advised not to enter parts of central Medina, where the mosque is located. But Mr Tzion said religious sites in Medina were open to the public.

Now that the worst of Omicron appears to have passed without restrictions in England, Labour are quickly trying to get on the front foot by publishing a ten point ‘living with Covid’ plan, and insisting the country never returns to lockdown. They are doing this because, once again, they called it wrong when the data were less clear.

Yesterday on Sunday Morning, Sir Keir insisted that Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting never called for further restrictions beyond Plan B. Streeting himself has said the same thing. It is simply untrue.

    untrue = lie.

While a significant amount of people see these political extremists as threats, at 58% they are more likely to see Jihadists as a “big threat” – around the same proportion who said that Islamic terror groups posed in big threat in a similar 2019 YouGov study.

Approaching a quarter of Britons (24%) also see Irish Republican groups as posing a “big threat” putting them slightly ahead of left-wing extremists (23%) however is this within our margin of error.

While Conservatives see both groups as more of a threat than Labour and Lib Dem supporters, all three groups tend to see the threat posed by left-wing extremism to be around the same as that of Irish Republicans. Labour and Lib Dem voters, for their part, see the threat of right-wing extremists as being equally as serious as that of Jihadists,

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-10408723/STEPHEN-GLOVER-Nadine-Dorries-nerve-going-BBC.html

I have to admit that I am taking a liking to Stephen Glover’s style:

“There will be howls of outrage at the news that the BBC’s £159 annual licence fee will be frozen for two years, and got rid of altogether from 2027 in favour of an alternative funding arrangement.

Angry articles will appear in Auntie’s favourite organ, the Guardian. There will be disparaging pieces about the Culture Secretary, Nadine Dorries, who will be dismissed as a populist and philistine who writes rotten novels.”

“In short, the mother of all fights lies ahead, and the Government will need to keep its nerve if it is going to see through a revolution in the way our main public service broadcaster is financed and operates.

But in fact what is planned is long overdue, and almost certainly carries the support of most British people, if recent opinion polls are anything to go by.”

Please read the whole article! As my last post was rather long due to the amount of copy and paste I put in, I will just stop with this para:

“If you think that other channels provide superior coverage, or abjure the BBC because its political preconceptions annoy you, why should you be compelled to pay an annual levy of £159 to a broadcaster you neither like nor respect, and seldom, if ever, utilise?”

You’ve got the right angle, Glover!

TWatO Watch #1 – did Mrs Balls learn anything at all from her time in Government?
MARKET Watch – something the BBC is incapable of doing for £159 p.a.

The gas price has been threatening for some time to fall back to more normal levels and has subsided below 200p/therm as recently as October 2021 when it dipped to 166p. (We are talking gas futures here, btw.) Today it is currently at 180p. Mrs Balls (a.k.a. Yvette Cooper MP, Labour Shadow for something) was a guest on TWatO. Sara asked her about the ‘drinking culture’ in Downing Street when she was in Government and apparently it didn’t happen at all. That is despite Alastair Campbell being very honest about becoming an alcoholic while working in ….

….. Downing Street. He is on record as being an alcoholic in recovery – good wishes to him for that – which proves that Mrs Balls is being ‘economical with the truth’.

Now who does that remind me of? Another sucker in the Labour ranks, especially as he has been accusing the PM of (pardon non-Parliamentary language) lying. Then Sara asked Mrs Balls about the BBC and the so-called ‘Cost of Living Crisis’ and hey ho, suddenly it has vanished when it turned to talk of the BBC TV Tax. The BBC is wonderful, according to Mrs Balls, and worth several more percentage points on the monthly inflation figure.

Am reminded of a Labour PM who prreviously had been a Chancellor: “Crisis? What crisis?”

    Re the licence.
What we are missing in this argument is that to watch all other channels other than the BBC we still have to have a licence. As a compromise the licence is only to watch the bbc. So no need for a licence to watch all other channels.
That’s fair and gives the BBC the chance to get its act in order.
After a couple of years review it.
The BBC cannot complain as still getting a fee.

I’m afraid that this suggestion , whilst not without merit, is too much of a compromise for me to swallow. I want the BBC to be forced to accept voluntary subscription as its only source of income. No tax payer funding of any sort. It must also make all of its film and sound libraries open to all other companies and it must pay the market rate in rent for all of its premises which were built with LF money and similarly for its equipment. Additionally any money from sales of programmes made before it became privatised must be returned to the government . Finally it must be rebranded and cannot use BBC in its new name.

I have posted on here before that if the TV Tax was still a Licence Fee of £20 to £25 it would be more acceptable to this bit of the public. It is only BBC Greed that has turned the TV Tax into a major item of expenditure for the UK public. I might actually buy a £20 Licence just on the off-chance that I might use iPlayer at certain times of the year.

The BBC claim the Licence Fee brings in £3.6billion. If that is correct, then a Licence Fee of £22.50 – if I have prodded the calculator properly – brings in a guaranteed income of £250,000,000. Add the other BBC revenue streams then they would have an income of £1.5billion. If they cannot run two TV channels and three to six radio networks plus local radio – if they must – then they are not fit to be in business anyway.

No other business that I can think of has a guaranteed income. For all the other businesses revenue streams have to be earned by satisfying all the customers and keeping them happy.

Keeping the state organ on the back foot and in a flaccid state will be important.

    Next steps?

    1) demand that the bBC produce a plan on how it will transition to a subscription model.

    2) set a tight timescale for its production.

    3) If it is not forthcoming or gamed then appoint an external transition team accordingly .

Makes you think though what people are going to think about the continued payment of this unfair tax in the coming months and years.

bBC Scotland. A true waste of money.

This communications organ of the SNP is being sued over their production of a documentary called ” The men who sold the jerseys”
which was commissioned and paid for out of the L/Fee Tax.
The programme claimed to have expert information surrounding the financial collapse of Rangers FC.
bBC Scotland will not send reporters to cover Rangers games.

Not that anyone gives a **** but it demonstrates if further proof was needed that it is inherently biased against anything which supports the Union and Great Britain,

The case when it eventually goes to court should throw up some tasty findings about the bBC modus operandi as to how it came about information included in this so called documentary insomuch that it was allegedly obtained illegally.

    Important update

Nadine Dorries has now formally stuck it to the BBC with the 2 year licence freeze . Her statement in the commons was broadcast live on GBNews which followed on with Roger?Aitkin – a well known critic of the BBC suggesting that its ; news channel needs to go back to reporting the news ( rather than propaganda – my interpretation ))

Nadine told the BBC that it’s behaviour in avoiding groupthink and doing its charter job would be monitored in the years running up to the end of the current charter .

Peter Bone – who you will know is sponsoring a private members ‘ bill to end the TVL completely – was sitting behind watching … as I write this I am sure a lot of labour BBC groupies will be standing up ranting …

It was all a big con trick but HMTreasury collected VAT on the bulbs, when they were expensive and also when they were sold for a £1.

The woke Scottish “Police” refused to consider it as an act of criminality and the BBC seem full of self satisfaction at the outcome.

I guess it’s just a matter of time before some nut uses this sort of vicious information to attack someone the woke don’t like.

It will lead to this eventually but of course we know they will then use the “lone wolf” get out of jail card.

What will the Police and BBC reaction to that be? It’s a bit more serious than letting statue vandals off Scot free!

I detest these creatures more than I can say. But of course they are now being championed by the Queen of Scotland herself.

Here’s why the BBC needs to go.

Absolutely appalling coverage on the 6 pm news about the Texas synagogue terrorist.

Prominent was the words of a Blackburn Muslim leader.
The terrorist had mental health issues. Why was he allowed on the plane? Why was he not treated better?
And from a relative. He can’t believe he would have hurt anyone.
And for an alternative view? Nothing.

The Islamic Broadcasting Corporation. In total denial, as ever.

Such bias for only £159 per year until 2024, whether you like it or not, for wanting to watch ITV live.

Sluff-With the BBC winning the bronze medal behind
Hamas and Iran in an anti-Semitic poll recently. I was
surprised that the 6PM national news featured as the
main news story the hostage taking in a synagogue in
      Texas.
As you mention there were a number of qualifications
in the story . Did he have a real gun? Did he have to be shot?
Why was he allowed to leave the UK with mental problems
etc etc. BUT at least the BBC covered it.
In the news Hugh Edwards also mentioned the
Anne Frank story. I said to my wife ” Two sympathetic Jewish
features in a news programme? Something’s wrong.”
So let’s imagine a discussion between the news editorial staff
and the diversity department. BIG BROTHER we thought
it was only right that we should tell you that we are making
the Texas story our main feature on the 6PM news. BUT of course
we will be making sure that there will be rhetorical questions
asked which will make the culprit look not so bad.
Ok as BIG BROTHER I will allow this . BUT there will be a
twist . We have found out that it may of well been a Jew
who gave away the hiding place of the Frank family. I
know that a conspiracy story such as this would never
make the headlines on the BBC news. Because then we would of
won the gold medal ahead of Hamas and Iran. BUT this
story will “balance” the sort of pro Jew story we are
      headlining.
