Reflecting on the current accusations that the government let people get away with huge amounts of fraud as we sank into the COVID pandemic….weren’t the same people who are now complaining, battering the government for not allocating contracts fast enough, because Ministers wanted to properly vet any companies getting these very valuable contracts ?

I certainly recall the demands at the time, widely promoted by the BBC as well, that the Government just get a ‘move on’, because ‘COVID’, and to hang with any subsequent problems.

‘Problems like fraud’, I remember saying when these tantrums were being thrown. But these little obstacles seem to have gone straight down a memory hole as far as the BBC is concerned.

Right – time to get togged up, (well, better than I’m wearing now, anyway) and hit the trail towards ‘an homage to Mr Burns and his works’ as it has been described to me.

“Fair fa’ your honest sonsie face…….”, as far as I can recall, but I am sure if that needs amended, so it will be, by someone !

Happy Burns’ Night to all – wherever.

Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet, is loved the world over as the bard of freedom, liberty and the common good of humankind. So it comes as a great shock to many that he once accepted a job to help manage a slave plantation in the West Indies. What is the real story here? How could our Burns, the people’s poet, look to become an instrument in what many now call ‘The Black Holocaust’?

Lame excuses from Man United stars Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard – known for their stance against racism – after they were pictured partying with disgraced ‘anti-Semitic’ rapper Wiley in Dubai

Wiley was banned from Twitter in July 2020 after being widely condemned for a series of posts, including one which called Jewish people ‘cowards and snakes’.

Construction Workers in Dubai – Modern Slavery in the UAE

Before we begin: modern slavery in Dubai is something that I’ve written about before. In my previous article, I gave an overview of the conditions that migrant workers in Dubai have to deal with and why this amounts to modern day slavery before questioning why tourists continue to flock to Dubai despite its shocking human rights violations. If you’re new to the topic of slavery in Dubai then I suggest you check out that article first, before coming back to this one.

      https://travellingjezebel.com/construction-workers-dubai-modern-slavery/

The process of recruiting foreigners as slaves in Dubai is really very similar to that of modern day slavery and human trafficking all around the world.

What is shocking about slavery in Dubai is that the recruiting of slaves is done right out in the open, with the slave owners hiding in plain sight.

First, you create a dream to be sold.

With a city like Dubai, that isn’t hard to do. You simply show glittering panoramic shots of the skyline, dangling the luxury of Dubai on a thread and emphasising the huge salaries and excellent quality of life that is yours to enjoy in this adult playground.

Dubai has marketed itself for years as a cosmopolitan paradise where dreams are made, and so it isn’t difficult to convince a poverty-stricken man from rural Bangladesh who is struggling to feed his family that life in Dubai must be better.

Next, you have to sell that dream.

Thai builders erect a basic shelter on-site made from corrugated iron and they all happily live in there until they have finished. They are far worse than that room and they always seem perfectly content to me. It’s what they are used to and being cold is not an issue.

The problem in places like Dubai is that they treat people they consider to be inferior like animals. I regularly go through the airport there and I can say without any doubt that the men parading around there in their brilliant-white dishdashas are the most ignorant and arrogant people I have ever encountered.

Of course the Left have nothing to say on the subject because Muslims can only be ‘victims’ to use against white people. Which makes me despise them even more for their rank hypocrisy.

“It’s time to impeach DHS Chief Mayorkas
The secretary’s brazen dereliction of duty is directly harming the American people

hose sworn to uphold the United States Constitution are given a sacred trust by the American people. When people violate that oath, they attack the principle of government by consent of the governed. In the case of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and the ongoing border crisis, violations of that oath can endanger American lives. As representatives whose state has come under siege by these policies, we are calling on Congress to begin impeachment procedures.

The case against Mayorkas is as lengthy as it is clear. In simplest terms, he has failed to faithfully execute America’s laws, and harmed Americans as a result, all to achieve a political outcome not supported by the law: establishing a wide-open border to issue legal status to as many illegal migrants as possible.

During this time, Secretary Mayorkas terminated construction of the border wall, despite Congressional appropriation. Worse still, the already purchased construction materials are rusting while paid-for contracts go unfulfilled.

How can this man ever be trusted again, he may have some misplaced loyalty but to put that before everything when even colleagues can see the ship is sinking is disreputable.

A report into child sexual exploitation will be published early next Spring.

The Independent Inquiry into Telford Child Sexual Exploitation was set up after the Sunday Mirror claimed up to 1,000 girls had been abused by gangs in Telford since the 1980s.

Chairman Thomas Crowther QC said sections of the report will be shared with those criticised before Christmas.

The report will “provide a picture of how instances of CSE have changed over the years”, he said.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service said the former judge told an update meeting 164 witnesses had so far given evidence, but 12 former council employees and 17 ex-police officers or staff had “chosen not to assist us”.

So Ms Gray’s “Partygate” report is being referred to the Met for their input. The talk was always that her report would be “factual” and not judgemental, i.e. she would not analyse each party and offer her opinion as to whether or not the rules were broken. Hardly surprising the Met is now deferred to in order to take these decisions as the final arbiter. Goodness knows how long this will take and how much it will cost. With all the serious crime being committed in London, stabbings, drugs, fraud etc the highly paid detectives working on investigating cheese and wine parties must be wondering what the hell is going on. Comment was made on GB News that the Met has to start from the beginning and re-interview all participants under caution.

Odd that the Met had consistently said they do not retrospectively investigate potential breaches but have backtracked and are now willing to make an exception for No. 10. They say it is because of the seriousness of the matter: so it’s nothing to do with the media and the Labour Party complaining their previous approach was unacceptable?

Also strange that the police who constantly patrol outside No 10 never became aware of any “parties” but if they were, a quiet word or even a £100 fine would have had the desired effect.

Interesting fact that came out of tonight’s Farage piece on GB News: looks as if any breaches of covid restrictions have to be laid before Magistrates within 6 months of the event otherwise they become time barred. That would wipe out any potential breaches that could have resulted in fines as the most recent event was April 2021. However, the Met may decide to say if any breaches had occurred even if fines can no longer be issued.

If Bojo somehow survives at least it will serve as a kick up the backside and there is some hope, maybe forlorn, that he will gradually row back on the green agenda with some decisive action on immigration and lower taxation. With an improving economy and if he starts acting more like a true blue Tory he could recover lost ground to some extent and resign at the end of 2023 to give his successor a year to settle in thus avoiding a build up of media and Labour Party hysteria against him about partygate, Paterson, No 10 refurb etc. as the election date approached.

Johnson might yet have his cake and be around a bit longer to eat it!
