On the BBC 1 6 pm news.
    A coronavirus update.
Featured is a big rise in headline deaths, to 534. That is high.

Why so high? Afew comments were made.

But what the doom and gloom merchants at the seditious BBC totally failed to mention is that just yesterday they changed the basis of the statistics with particular regard to re-infection. I stand to be corrected but my understanding is as follows. A re-infected person dying within 28 days of the re-infection will now be counted. Thus death rates will apparently increase. A factor strangely omitted by the BBC.

To misquote a Humphrey Bogart line, ‘my my, so many journalists and so few brains.

Bottomline the new death data was well spread out so doesn’t alter the curve much
The 300 deaths on Jan 21st are a bit of an outlier

… sorry if this makes you feel sick or generates hatred, but why aren’t the BBC interested in Maria Ladenburge’s killer being brought to justice and why the killer did it ….

      The Trial of Hussein Khavari (murdered Maria Ladenburge) Becomes Even More Sordid {gatesofvienna.net sep2017}

The accused entered the courtroom with shackles on hands and feet at 9:05am. First he read out loud a letter of apology, and he asked the family of the murdered Maria Ladenburger for forgiveness, Focus reports.

“I wish I could undo everything. What I have done, I am deeply sad about that from the bottom of my heart.” (Hussein K.)

Then he went on to recount the events of the night of the murder:

He had been drinking with three friends and he had smoked hashish. Because he was extremely drunk, he was thrown out of the bar. At some time after that, he was on his way home. At the [river] Dreisam, the girl on her bicycle approached him.

He kicked against the bicycle, which caused the girl to fall off. She screamed. He held her mouth shut. Then he strangled her with her shawl until she was unconscious.

“When I saw how pretty she was, I wanted to have sex with her.” (Hussein K.)

      … it gets worse…..

The BBC gets prime 1, 2 slots for free and pays no transmission tax.

The BBC does play along with a small set of government lines

Not the Blatantly Biased Broadcasting Corporation, but has anyone seen the latest offering from Legal and General advertising equity release?

Playing on their colourful umbrella they advertise equity release to fund a colourful retirement.

    Four cases appear:-
1 Chinese/Japanese lady going on holiday with her white partner, her home helped pay for it.
2 Black chap having a room by room makeover, his home helped pay for it.
3 Black pensioner, son or grandson, she’s helping him get on to the housing ladder, her home helped pay for it.
4 Asian looking woman at a spa for the weekend, her home helped pay for it.

So 8 people in the ad only 2 pale people.

Colourful retirement, ironic, or do they not realise that their ad agency made a monumental cockup?

Another week, another row about BBC impartiality, a regular event has that become almost as much a national institution as the Beeb itself. But amid the interminable culture wars now fought over media bias it is crucial that we do not miss an even bigger story — involving the far more powerful tech giants.

BBC bias stories drive many people wild because it is a taxpayer-funded organisation, and also because we have a long-held reverence towards what people used to call ‘Auntie’. But in the long run, the issue of fairness and freedom in news-reporting and opinion-forming is going to focus far more around information giants such as Google and Facebook than it is for the national broadcaster, its best days already behind it.

I’ve never heard people claim numbers that big

Remember the lowest number you can get is “number of trucks”
number of people in trucks will be higher ..as some trucks have 2 or more people
Number of vehicles would be higher cos many people came in cars/buses
Number of people would be even higher cos it would count locals too

I was about to post that information, Island so great minds think alike.
I don’t know your thoughts on which would be the best option.
There is no doubt that the Cons will win this but the big question is how many will actually turn out to vote for them?
Another telling thing will be how many people even bother to turn out for the alternatives?
The Ukip candidate Steve Laws should have the best chance of garnering a reasonable number of votes. I have said on here before that I think Ukip is a busted flush but if I was there I would still vote for him. He is one of the few people that have done good work on the invasion of Kent.
As for the English Democrats I am an Englishman, but more than that I am British and have no sympathy for secessionists be they English, Scots, Welsh or Irish. Also the candidate Catherine Blaiklock rose to prominence in UKIP and if I remember correctly decamped over Gerard Batten’s support for Tommy and went to join the Brexit Party whereupon I seem to remember was denounced as an Islamaphobe herself and now seems to have found a new home. Stew Green please correct me if I have got the poor girl’s details wrong, but that’s as I remember it and she doesn’t impress me at all.
So that’s my prediction for the top three.
Fourth Could be the Heritage party. The rest are just rag,tag and bobtail.

The biggest question is will there be any lessons learnt by the populist right afterwards? I mean forming a dynamic and credible populist party! How long can they keep fighting each other.

Be prepared for a BBC gloat over a dismal result.

“Conspiracy theories aside, there is something fishy about the Great Reset
It’s a corporate takeover of global governance that affects our food, our data and our vaccines

At the heart of conspiracy theories are supposed secret agendas and malicious intent. While these may be absent from the WEF’s Great Reset initiative, what I found was something almost as sinister hiding in plain sight. In fact, more sinister because it’s real and it’s happening now. And it involves things as fundamental as our food, our data and our vaccines.

The magic words are ‘stakeholder capitalism’, a concept that WEF chairman Klaus Schwab has been hammering for decades and which occupies pride of place in the WEF’s Great Reset plan from June 2020. The idea is that global capitalism should be transformed so that corporations no longer focus solely on serving shareholders but become custodians of society by creating value for customers, suppliers, employees, communities and other ‘stakeholders’. The way the WEF sees stakeholder capitalism being carried out is through a range of ‘multi-stakeholder partnerships’ bringing together the private sector, governments and civil society across all areas of global governance.

The idea of stakeholder capitalism and multi-stakeholder partnerships might sound warm and fuzzy, until we dig deeper and realise that this actually means giving corporations more power over society, and democratic institutions less.

The plan from which the Great Reset originated was called the Global Redesign Initiative. Drafted by the WEF after the 2008 economic crisis, the initiative contains a 600-page report on transforming global governance. In the WEF’s vision, “the government voice would be one among many, without always being the final arbiter.” Governments would be just one stakeholder in a multi-stakeholder model of global governance. Harris Gleckman, senior fellow at the University of Massachusetts, describes the report as “the most comprehensive proposal for re-designing global governance since the formulation of the United Nations during World War II.”

Who are these other, non-governmental stakeholders? The WEF, best known for its annual meeting of high-net-worth individuals in Davos, Switzerland, describes itself as an international organization for public-private cooperation. WEF partners include some of the biggest companies in oil (Saudi Aramco, Shell, Chevron, BP), food (Unilever, The Coca-Cola Company, Nestlé), technology (Facebook, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple) and pharmaceuticals (AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna).

Instead of corporations serving many stakeholders, in the multi-stakeholder model of global governance, corporations are promoted to being official stakeholders in global decision-making, while governments are relegated to being one of many stakeholders. In practice, corporations become the main stakeholders, while governments take a backseat role, and civil society is mainly window dressing.”

    The multi-stakeholder ecosystem

Perhaps the most symbolic example of this shift is the controversial strategic partnership agreement the United Nations (UN) signed with the WEF in 2019. Harris Gleckman describes this as a move to turn the UN into a public-private partnership, creating a special place for corporations inside the UN.

The multi-stakeholder model is already being built. In recent years, an ever-expanding ecosystem of multi-stakeholder groups has spread across all sectors of the global governance system. There are now more than 45 global multi-stakeholder groups that set standards and establish guidelines and rules in a range of areas. According to Gleckman, these groups, which lack any democratic accountability, consist of private stakeholders (big corporations) who “recruit their friends in government, civil society and universities to join them in solving public problems”.

Boris’s Northern Ireland Protocol was dreadful, and I hope it is now dead.

The EU used it vindictively against the UK. There were more trade checks on goods going from GB to NI than on goods going into the EU from the rest of the world.

The idea of the NIP was to protect the EU’s precious Single Market, and avoid border checks between NI and the RoI. If push comes to shove, I think the EU will not want to enforce the sort of border controls they have used between NI and GB on the RoI. When it is them who face the pain, I am sure they will find that the NI/RoI border is not that much of an issue after all, and can be dealt with by light touch regulation.

The bottom line is that Boris blinked and agreed to a terrible deal for NI (as he did for our fishermen) just so he could get his wretched Brexit deal done. I said at the time that anything that is published on Christmas Eve is bound to be dodgy, it’s just so obvious.

Big Brother in a nutshell, (which also succinctly covers the bbc and the loathsome, smug yet unqualified, “fact checker” Spring et al)

Tucker Carlson: You’re not allowed to use government power to shut down people who criticize you

“The Joe Rogan Experience” reaches about 11 million people, and some of the episodes get an audience many times that. How many people is that? It’s a lot.

For perspective, last night, CNN’s highest-rated show had a little over 700,000 viewers total. So Joe Rogan is big, and unlike CNN, he’s not especially political. His show covers pretty much everything: comedy, science, nutrition, the paranormal, recreational drug use, exercise, mixed martial arts, music, Hollywood and a huge range of other topics, often with guests you’ve never heard of.

Rogan is not a reactionary, unlike most people in the media, he doesn’t think he already knows everything. He’s genuinely curious, and so he lets his guests speak. His longest interview lasted for more than five hours with a standup comedian. When Rogan does talk about politics, it’s pretty clear he’s not an ideologue. He interviews everybody. Liberals and conservatives, as well as a lot of people like Mike Tyson, who could be either one. And he does it most of the time with respect and self-deprecation.

A few months ago, Rogan watched the White House press secretary lie about the FDA’s approval process for Pfizer’s COVID vaccine. So he said something about it. Watch.

ROGAN: Jen Psaki’s talking about misinformation online and combating misinformation. She distributed misinformation, because she said that it’s approved by the FDA and their gold standard.

JOE ROGAN’S RESPONSE TO CRITICS LEAVES MANY LIBERAL PUNDITS UNSATISFIED

Yeah. What he said was true. Rogan’s pretty literal, actually. It’s one of the reasons people trust him. And he was right in this case. Jen Psaki was lying to the country, and it wasn’t even an especially clever lie. Anyone with internet access could have verified that what Jen Psaki said was a total crock, from the podium, too. But when Joe Rogan points this out, it really stings. A lot of the people listening to him believe him. And the White House took notice. So what happened next? Well, here’s Jen Psaki from yesterday calling on Joe Rogan’s employer to censor him. Watch.

PSAKI: This disclaimer, it’s a positive step, but we want every platform to continue doing more to call out misinformation and disinformation, while also uplifting accurate information. But ultimately, you know, our view is, it’s a good step, it’s a positive step, but there’s more that can be done.

No mention of the illegal immigrants from the southern border who supply much of the fentanyl

“The Border Crisis is Fueling Fentanyl Deaths
Prepared Floor Remarks by U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa

Our televisions remind us of that daily. Foreign nationals are illegally crossing into our country from Mexico by the thousands every day.

But illegal immigration isn’t the only crime cascading over the border.

Mexican cartels are importing deadly drugs and trafficking humans, too.

These horrific, unabated events make clear that the cartels effectively control our southern border – managing who and what enters from Mexico

But the danger’s preventable. The trouble exists because the current Administration deliberately refuses to secure the border.

Homeland Security’s border dereliction is inexcusable and life-threatening. Communities across all states are plagued by the crime – particularly the illegal drugs killing Americans by the tens of thousands every year.

In 2020, over 93,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, a 31 percent increase from the previous year. That exceeds the Rose Bowl’s capacity.

      One drug’s prolific: Mexican fentanyl.”

We know we can’t trust them with numbers: ‘US sends extra 3,000 troops to eastern Europe to deter Putin‘ (Times); ‘Pentagon sends 2,000 troops to Europe‘ (FT)

There’s the notion of fact-checking and occasionally one reports a headline but can’t resist correcting an obvious error of phrasing – perhaps we should term this common sense checking.

In this morning’s Financial Times we find: ‘Surging crime troubles Biden‘ – applying the common sense… official and mainstream media laissez faire attitudes to black lives matter rioting, liberal justice practices ranging from catch and release of violent criminals, permissive attitudes to drugs and vagrancy to non-prosecution of shoplifters, combined with a general societal malaise due to lockdowns… have troubled voters. Particularly Donald Trump-antipathetic suburban females who are the bedrock bloc on which the rather thin majority Joe Biden-led Democrat 2020 electoral coalition of 51.3% was built.

So, no. Voters not Biden are troubled by surging crime.

Officers’ grief… Fellow officers attend the funeral in Manhattan for Wilbert Mora of the New York Police Department, who was killed while responding to a domestic violence call‘ (FT)

Wilbert Mora was a man of colour – apparently lawlessness in America is getting to the stage where cops’ lives also matter – for Democrat electoral survival.

NYC mayor eulogizes slain officer Wilbert Mora, vows to give police resources to fight ‘senseless violence’‘ (CNN)

[Mayor Eric] Adams pledged to step up the battle against street crime that has resulted in several shootings involving citizens and police officers recently. An off-duty officer was shot and wounded Tuesday night, the eve of Mora’s funeral, while on his way to work. He was not in uniform and not in an NYPD vehicle

Mora, 27, and Officer Jason Rivera, 22, were fatally shot January 21 when a suspected gunman opened fire in a Harlem apartment… The suspect in the shooting of the two officers, Lashawn McNeil, tried to run but was confronted and shot by a third officer on the scene

The suburban female voter… she can sway an election and she holds the consumer purse strings: ‘Women now drive the world economy. Globally, they control about $20 trillion in annual consumer spending, and that figure could climb as high as $28 trillion in the next five years. … In aggregate, women represent a growth market bigger than China and India combined‘ (Harvard Business Review)

And don’t our media know it: ‘Esther Walker. Confessions of a shopping addict‘ (‘i’)

Health is major concern of her’s: ‘Two years ago, women voters drove Democrats to take back the House of Representatives in a so-called “blue wave.” Their top concern? Health care.‘ (A rare appearence hereabouts for the 19th Newsletter October 2020: ‘an independent, nonprofit newsroom reporting on gender, politics and policy‘)

She will be please about this: ‘The Great HRT Revolution begins. Making it available over the counter could be as liberating as the Pill‘ (Telegraph) – Big Pharma will also be pretty chuffed. But that’s churlish of me – there must be a demand for these drugs.

But what’s this? : ‘Beauticians offering ‘black market’ botox‘ – the Times names and shames: ‘Samatha Bennett and Vilnis Karklins are among those injecting cheap versions of Botox that have not passed safety checks‘ – oh the vax irony: ‘One million children still not jabbed‘ (‘i’)

And for some light relief. Our media runs on fears. Pandemics, Climate Catastrophes – and now the revival of an oldie but goodie: ‘Squeaky bomb time. Everyone a bit jittery about World War 3‘ (Daily Star)

There’s a brand new fear in the ‘i’: ‘Katie Ormerod. My fears for the future of snowboarding‘ – I guess that encompasses the full house – pandemic means no travel to the Olympics, global warming means no snow and WWIII also means no Olympics, winter or summer.

Styne was very good on GBN last night , particularly the segment on the grooming gangs. He had Maggie Oliver an ex police woman who campaigns on behalf of the victims of the rapists. He tried hard to get her to say exactly who the main perpetrators were but , probably because she knows it would hinder her work, she was very reluctant. So Mark Styne made it very clear who was responsible , men of Pakistani origin , and repeated it several times. Well done that man but Ofcom will not appreciate the truth being broadcast.

Hypocrisy of the left is now becoming obvious to all:

Jesse Watters: Whoopi Goldberg was taught the critical race theory of the Holocaust

Watters critiqued liberal media for rushing to her defense, even as they called for Joe Rogan to be “canceled.”

“But the left circled the wagons around Goldberg,” he said.

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said, “This is something that is just going to start getting ridiculous. I mean, if Whoopi Goldberg is canceled, that would be the end. I mean, that would be the end of this. All this cancel culture is getting so out-of-hand.”

Watters laughed and said, “Literally, just days before MSNBC tried to get Spotify to cancel Joe Rogan for saying something not offensive at all.”

“Cancel Rogan, but keep Whoopi … It’s blatantly corrupt, the legacy media is dying, losing credibility, losing audience and clinging to power by trying to censor honest and fresh voices who threaten their stake in the game and threaten their control of the conversation and flow of information,” Watters said.

Yup. A very large part of why the police are scared of being accused of being racist is because of far-left media such as the BBC and Guardian.

The BBC don’t care one bit how many children are abused, how many women are raped or how many people are stabbed. They only care if they can use it against whitey males. Whom they despise as far-right scum responsible for Brexit.

THAT is the mindset of the typical Leftist.

Welcome to the wind turbine graveyard. It stretches a hundred metres from a bend in the North Platte River in Casper, Wyoming.

Between last September and this March, it will become the final resting place for 1,000 fibreglass turbine blades.

These blades, which have reached the end of their 25-year working lives, come from three wind farms in the north-western US state. Each will be cut into three, then the pieces will be stacked and buried.

Least we forget how it all works … videos, words, pictures … you don’t get to choose the arrangement …

Chaos as police stop Hungary migrant train – Gavin Hewitt – BBC -Sep 2015 @53s
“… the a really distressing incident happened. A women who was carrying a small baby began crying for help (photo of lady carrying baby). One of her companions tried to help her (photo of man with women on track, riot police reaching towards them) Somehow there became a push and a shove with the police. She ended up on the railway lines (by the male refugee dragging her and the baby to the floor, but this is not said) with the riot police trying to pull her back, and this of course inflamed all the other people…”
      -Gavin Hewitt – Sep 2015

Watch the video and the male refugee (companion trying to help?) drags the women and baby to the floor, by force.

Even the Mirror (03Sept2015) says “… this refugee couple cradle their tiny baby, after throwing themselves (NO! Male refugee drags women and baby onto train tracks) on train tracks as police try to take them to migrant camps in Hungary”

Gets better. Two days (05Sept2015) later the Mirror then report it as
“Refugee who dragged pregnant wife and baby son onto train track did it because ‘death would be better’”

      1. BBC Version uses words and pictures to hide the video version
      2. The Mirror shows the video but uses words to tell a different version

Can I suggest a little story – “Male refugee forces pregnant women refugee holding child down onto a train track, police drag him away for her safety? Riot police then lift women with child off track with tender arms.”
