Migrant crisis: Turkey (Erdogan) threatens EU with new surge (EU Tax Payers are paying Erdogan £2.6 billion) {bbc.co.uk nov2016}
“Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that he will let hundreds of thousands of migrants travel on to Europe if pushed by the EU.
…
‘Listen to me: these border gates will be opened if you go any further,’ he warned the EU on Friday.”
Further to Stew’s post on previous page. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2022/03/28/children-should-learn-benefits-empire-says-nadhim-zahawi/
“Nadhim Zahawi said he agreed with Kemi Badenoch’s comments that it was important to ‘tell both sides of the story’ when teaching about the British Empire”
Strange that two non-indigenous MPs should be the ones to state the obvious.
All history should be based on the study and analysis of a variety of sources (none of which are completely reliable or unreliable), which must be tested against the evidence of factual knowledge.
See David Starkey, e.g. Chroniclers & Historians
This is necessarily beyond the expertise of the average teacher, who will rely on a curriculum that cites particular sources. Who decides these? I suspect most modern history books written or recommended for use in schools are watered down regurgitations of earlier ‘narratives’ coloured by personal experiences or ideologies.
(As an aside, bBC soundbites are sure to be the least reliable ‘source’ for anything historical and ought to be avoided by schools at all costs.)
Long long ago the BBC did a big series on the British Empire. I get the feeling it couldnt be shown now – not even on one of those documentary channels…
Today if they tried it – it would be called
“ lennys ‘ british evil empire on ice ‘ or something similar …or ‘ chips with everything ‘ …
Do you notice that the BBC doesnt ‘do’ history at all these days – although Henry 8 gets a beating from time to time .
Thatch- no – he did something for C4 but the BBC series might have been in the 1970s – I remember when ‘colour ‘was new …my memory might be a bit clouded though …
The paxman did something on slavery I think – and the Boy Snow – did something on his series about the Royal Navy before it became an extension of the French Uber …

Andy . Do i get the feeling the MSM thrashed the party thing so much theres nothing left in the tank ?
Methinks people are a bit more pre occupied with the cost of petrol than some historic party thing which only interested the westminster bubble . …
Maybe the failed plod commissioner will give a fixed penalty to the PM as a leaving present …
Do you notice how the BBC is fixated by the word
‘ apology ‘ ?
Robinson was interogating a junior minister on how to spend more borrowed tax money on the 1.3 million – yes 1.3 million kids declared to be ‘ special needs ‘ ….
Then he got bored and asked about the party thing and the need to ‘ admit ‘ and ‘apologise ‘ .
Even the news had the fact that a coloured foreign actor had apologised to another coloured foreign actor for something or other .
Just to be on the safe side – i would like to ‘ apologise ‘ for this comment….
The DT reports that people took out a billion more unsecured debt in February that expected .
January was £600 million – Feb was £1.9 billion ….
Which may be an indication that people are already thrashing their credit cards before the real effect of rising prices comes through ….
Or maybe people are stocking up in case the war goes bigger … I did .
Well, I won’t be “renewing” anything for the sake of it now. Although I did shout “REALLY ?” at the microwave last week when it blew up, so that was replaced. I have enough clothes for every occasion, and housewares for necessities, and apart from the odd cruise I don’t “do” several holidays a year. Therefore its keeping juicy lucy on the road, bills and food. I rarely get a ‘thank you’ for gifts from nieces/nephews so they can go swivel from now on – my excuse will be “sorry kids, heating bill to pay”. !!!
Saw this on another site, worth repeating here I think and worth knowing these kinds of opinions are all around:
“The BBC has all-but abandoned its Reithian founding principles and in so doing it has lost sight of its purpose.
BBC News for example behaves like its main purpose is to hold the incumbent (of course it happens to a Brexit-supporting Tory) Government to account.
The big problem with this is that it is not the BBC’s job at all.
We live in a Parliamentary democracy this is the explicit function of the opposition party!
The BBC’s job is to report the bloody news, and to do so in accordance with the Royal bloody Charter, which has a big section on impartiality (section 2 if you must know).
But the overpaid preachy leftwing journalists would rather amplify and project their political prejudices onto the nation’s news canvas, like a state-funded Twitter feed rather than doing their professional duty with any semblance of integrity.
It is no surprise that manufactured non-stories such as Wallpapergate and the Bernard Castle trip both broke from Broadcasting House and were given way more air time and front page coverage than one would expect, certainly more than other outlets deemed appropriate.
Right now there are 125,000 Russian troops massed at the Ukrainian border and gaff-prone Biden has just given his blessing for Putin to fire-up the tank engines. BBC news are STILL leading with Party-gate. Even a prominent story about Tommy Robinson (described with the obligatory ‘far right’ label) who is being chased by creditors, has higher-billing than both the MI5’s warning about Chinese spies having influence in the Labour party, or any mention of the Ukraine situation. This is irresponsible journalism.
Moreover, the tone and coverage of BBC news is increasingly resembling that of the American liberal left media outlets (notice the focus on the domestic rather than international news above), with the same obsession with race, identity politics, censorship of the climate change debate, embracement of dubious lockdown-supporting data and other niche political views – all given far more airtime than would be considered proportional by the majority of Brits.
Is it time to get rid of the licence fee?
Reluctantly, yes. The appointment of the ex-Huffington Post editor Jess Brammar as editor of BBC News Channels was the final straw for me. It demonstrated that the BBC is incapable of fixing itself, has a complete lack of judgement and is treating the Royal Charter and the License fee payers (i.e. its customers) with contempt. Anyone who has to delete 90,000 Tweets before they can start a job as a public-service broadcaster, is patently not fit to hold that position. End of debate.”
The former BBC Business Editor, Jeff Randal, has described his experience of working at the BBC as something akin to attending a meeting of ‘the flat earth society’. In 2016, he said of his time working with people at the BBC that, “as they discuss great issues of the day, they discuss them from the point of view that the earth is flat”. Continuing he said, “If someone says, ‘No, no, no, the earth is round!’, they think this person is an extremist. That’s what it’s like for someone with my right-of-centre views working inside the BBC.”
The pressure on someone within the BBC to conform with that single Far Left anti British anti white man anti Judeo Christian BBC must be awful – even for someone ‘pretending ‘…
“Advocacy journalism” as now taught by many journalism schools has a similar definition to “propaganda” in the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
advocacy journalism: “journalism that advocates a cause or expresses a viewpoint”
propaganda: “the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person”
“ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one’s cause or to damage an opposing cause”
Advocacy journalists can and are influenced by governmental policies. For instance, the NY Times recently described a new hire as “joining The New York Times as a technology reporter covering disinformation and all of its tentacles.” The pejorative use of the word “tentacles” pretty much shows what biases the new reporter is expected to have. The implication being that information not disseminated by the US government is disinformation, whether the topic be on climate change, diversity, elections, physician’s right to try or infectious disease. BTW: Any one else notice how the disinformation list keeps growing longer?
How does the Trusted News Initiative (TNI) or global information control fit into the campaign against “disinformation’? The TNI is basically a treaty management organization managed by the British Broadcasting Corporation which uses advocacy journalism to control content of news media through out the “free” world. Does this mean that only that “news” or PR spin which a government or world body wishes to be advanced can be allowed to be published or electronically distributed in some way? Advocacy journalism which promotes a certain viewpoint fits right in with the TNI model.
The long strange evolution of the TNI, from election interference to COVID-19 total information management shows the extent to which power corrupts, and that those being corrupted often have no idea that they are being corrupted. “Journalists” who are trained or coopted into buying into the idea that there is “one truth,” one right answer, and that governments are honest brokers in the assessment of that truth are not “fair and balanced”. They are naive and dangerous. Governments do lie, and what they offer as truth is often better termed mis- dis- and mal- information. Which is precisely why advocacy journalism (ergo propaganda) is dangerous. In a democracy, if an electorate is to be able to make appropriately informed choices, the news must be free from government (and corporate interest group) interference, reported from all angles, from all points of view – not just one narrow reading of the “truth”, as presented by big brother.
Wonder if the BBC/Associate Press would like to replace “Grooming Gang” with “Sadistic Child Torture Gangs” so we think differently about these cases?
He (Adil Khan/8 year sentence out in under 4 years) told the court: “They weren’t girls – they were women.”
He (Abdul Aziz/9 years out in under 4 years) ferried the girls as far as Leeds and Bradford and was paid by the stream of men (who will never be arrested) who used the girls for sex, getting £40 for each introduction.
“For the Many (Raped), Not the Few (Convicted)”
“Enough(47 Girls Raped?) is Enough (1400 Girls Raped?)!”
Rochdale child sex trafficker Adil Khan fights deportation {bbc.co.uk 17feb2016}
“A member of child sex grooming gang who got a 15-year-old girl pregnant has claimed he is innocent as he fights deportation from the UK. Adil Khan, 46, maintained there was a “big story” behind his conviction for a series of child sex offences in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. … They have a seven-year-old son, and if his appeal fails he can lodge a further appeal against deportation on the grounds of a breach of his human rights, the right to a family life, under Article Eight of the Human Rights Act.”
Family fears missing teenager (Mya Recardo, South East London) could be victim of child grooming gangs {express 27sep2017}
Before he is deported ensure he is castrated-that will resound very loudly against him in whichever Islamic country he is chucked into. It would be the second worsed punishment outside death.
“The Journalism of Attachment (JOA) is a phrase coined in 1997 by BBC reporter Martin Bell after the horrors he saw in Sarajevo during the Bosnian conflict. Bell would like journalism to shift from the traditional neutral observer style (which he calls “bystander journalism”), towards a more caring, interventionist journalism that makes distinctions between “good and evil, right and wrong, the victim and the oppressor.” Advocates for this type of reporting firmly believe that it is up to the journalist to try to influence the world for the better.”
Dear Marianna Spring (BBC wages paid under threat of prosecution),
As I’ve had to look at your BBC news and use other sources to determine that your news is not news but selective editorial opinion I’d like to request that I have a refund for the last 4 years plus get the BBC free from now on.
Please let me know how I can go about this as I am willing to create a full list of articles that I’ve had to investigate plus time taken for me to check your fact checker whilst realising that the BBC intentionally removes news rather than incorrectly report on it, uses images to sway opinion or misleads with the main titles hoping no one reads the full article.

Alongside his family Golf, which he uses to zip around London and is presumably based at his £7 million Kensington Mews house, Rishi also holds the keys to a top-end Range Rover (£94,000) in North Yorkshire, with a BMW and a Lexus also sitting in the garage of his Santa Monica pad, for when he feels the need for speed. A new Lexus can set you back up to £80,000, while top-of-the-range BMWs can fetch over six figures.
The kicker is Google Maps currently shows at least four cars parked in the drive of Rishi’s North Yorkshire mansion, none of which is listed above. Is Rishi really all just torque?
Not an issue with rich. Issue is with truth and why should he lie?

I had a meal in Zizzi’s on Saturday. It was my first-ever visit to the restaurant chain and I was very surprised to see that all of the staff had a ‘Z’ on their tee-shirts and in apparent sympathy with the Russian army in Ukraine.
I see the misandrist crazed feminazis have got themselves into a right twist this morning, partly over their usual obsesssion with hating trannies but now over the Oscars as well.
So today we have the insane situation where according to them it unacceptable to make any kind of a joke about a bald woman, but it is now prefectly acceptable to ask the same bald woman if she in fact is the owner of a penis.
You really couldn’t make this stuff up, but it is what happens when idiots on the left try to interfere with society. In my opinion society is an incredibly complex series of interactions between people which vary even down to neighbour level, and by and large society orders itself pretty well when left alone to its own devices. Sure it isn’t perfect and there are a few individuals who because of their own issues need to be removed from society because of their behaviour, but the point is that it all works, warts and all. It’s only when the Left begins fiddling with it that it all goes horribly wrong.
Said individual being paraded as a victim has not exactly garnered universal sympathy in the US due to continual infidelity, allegedly including her son’s friends.
And also noted the assaulter initially enjoyed the joke until ordered by wife to attack:
This from elsewhere:
“If a man had a sexual relationship with his son’s 20 something year old friend, and did so while married, he would be read the riot act by the entire Internet and everyone would say it was creepy AF. But since Jada Pinkett Smith has manipulated language around healing and accountability and gaslights everyone with it to look like it is an act of empowerment, people let her off the hook.”
Ukraine crisis: Why India is buying more Russian oil
By Shruti Menon
BBC Reality Check
Published11 hours ago
Russia is seeking new markets for its oil exports as Western sanctions tighten – and India has been taking advantage of discounted prices to ramp up imports from the country.
The US has said that although these oil imports do not violate sanctions, “support for Russia…is support for an invasion that obviously is having a devastating impact”.
Russia’s deputy defence minister Alexander Fomin says Russia will “radically reduce” military activity outside Kyiv and Chernihiv – that’s according to the news agency Tass. “reports” the bBC
So why not just go to Tass, instead of waiting for the bbc to copy/paste
The BBC just can’t help itself. On Mastermind yesterday evening, a contestant correctly answered Calcutta to a question from Clive Myrie who immediately said Kolkata! Yet, the answer referred to 1911when Delhi became the Indian capital.
BBC hard at it with partygate prominent number 1 News item. Will Boris be fined? Will the revolting tory government fall? Will their humiliation be confirmed? Will the nation ever recover from the Will Smith-like face slap?
Incidentally, there’s a war going on somewhere or other.
The BBC is back in its ‘ happy place – going after nut nut over the party nonsense – . Eager to replay the stuff from another time – before the war …..
I should be surprised that on the day of the memorial for the monarchs ‘ husband – the BBC choose to lead and re run the party crap just in case we had forgotten it after days and days and days of coverage ….
Now they’ll be seeing whether the fixed penalty notices are paid by Tuesday 26th ? April when the 28 days is up .
As I type the world at one has been running with this nonsense for 28 minutes …. Not a day when Ukrainians matter much – nor the monarch ….
Ok – I might be wrong – people might be interested in this or even care whether nut nut remains as PM . PMQs will witness more calls for his resignation …. A pantomime during a war …
And – of course – the identitys of those who received a Fixed notice will be leaked in coming days either by corrupt plod or someone in the ticket office

@ Fed I really, genuinely wonder how low this organisation can stoop, they miss the national zeitgeist time and time again , and I am not talking about people on this site only, but people around the country commenting more and more on this.
they defend muslims attacking jewish children, they insult and ask ridiculous questions of any tory they can get hold of, even during a so called national pandemic, they sneer and snigger on TV in front of the world at an MP displaying the Union flag, go on and on about racism and black and muslim victims yet completely ignore any news about those very same people attacking chinese asians in the UK and US and christians around the world, reported by many other news sources, I could go on I’ll leave it to others.

Labour seems to think doing such things rather than putting up decent policies will get it somewhere . It wont .
You miss the point, how much of the country are with the bbc obvious opinion and more imprtantly why does the bbc attack the conserrvative goverment and Donald Trump yet ignore any msdeeds AND incompetence from their replacements ??

Halifax, 1832. Anne Lister returns from Hastings to Shibden Hall, having discovered that her would-be companion and lover, the aristocratic Vere Hobart, has accepted a marriage proposal from a man. Do BBC progs drive people to suicide ?
.. Aren’t media staff fixated on steering up doom and gloom ?

Making narratives that normal righty politicians are fascists etc.

It certainly wasn’t her direct fault, it was they that made the jump
And we don’t know the personal circumstances.
But in general medial people STIR the waters, rather than CALM them.

Just had to switch off the Radio4 drama
was supposed to be about 2 strangers in lockdown, but the playwright couldn’t help having digs at “The Tories”
.. a character sneered at Boris’s appearance, the other at time of December 2020 was making comments about Tories having secret parties.. I don’t remember anyone mentioning them then.
Now a character is saying how outraged he is that “a male Tory MP said lockdown breaches are only as series as parking on a double yellow line”
.. I see that on Feb 2nd Peston made the claim that Workington Tory MP Mark Jenkinson had said that
But when bully boy Karl Turner the Labour MP embellished the claim, Jenkinson replied directly to him saying he hadn’t made the claim like that
And implied that he had said that a Covid breach is a Fixed penalty Notice FPN, and SPEEDING or parking on a Red Line in London is also a Fixed penalty Notice FPN,
That he never mentioned “double yellow line parking ..cos that is a penalty charge notice (PCN). So the claim he’d talked of double yellow lines is embellishment.
‘Lawyer’ – yet doesn’t know the difference between FPN, PCN and a private parking ticket? Can you find where I ever said anything about double yellow limes or private parking tickets? I won’t hold my breath for a retraction of lies from a man that wanted to put Corbyn into No 10
Fixed Penalty Notices are given out for prescribes minor breaches of law. They’re not fines, convictions or proof of guilt – all of which can only be handed out or determined by a court.
I know we’ve descended into a political fake news cesspit, but facts matter.
These actual lines in the drama at minute 43 were crucial to the anti-Tory emotion they were building up to Feb 2nd
“One Tory MP says that lockdown breaches are not that bad,
they are THE EQUIVALENT of parking on a double yellow line
& I’m thinking I DIDN’T GET TO SAY GOODBYE TO MY FATHER
because of these rules !
..It did matter, but NOT to THEM !”
Talking heads on the BBC are busy playing amateur psychologists in the Will Smith case.
So far I haven’t heard anyone blame institutional racism yet, but give them time.
Meanwhile, analyse this, BBC: like many others, he has an uncontrolled violent streak. Add to that a huge ego and the sort of entitlement that comes with mega-fame, that leads celebs to think they can get away with anything.
There you are. clearly stated. the twats at the guardian making a black abusive thug a hero:
“White outrage about Will Smith’s slap is rooted in anti-Blackness. It’s inequality in plain sight”
” racist at worst, about white people’s reaction to the now-infamous smack.”
I have never taken the time to complain to these, apart from the bbc, as it is like pissing in the wind but, this time, this defence of a black JUST because he is a black violent bastard ? they have gone too far ,
I can say with all confidence, that most that pretend to be victims of racism are the most violent nasty predators
“But white outrage isn’t the only problem. For Black people who have been conditioned to constantly perform the most non-threatening version of themselves in order to retain white approval, the image of a Black man being “violent” in a space notorious for its overwhelming whiteness must have felt like an abomination. The ESPN commentator Stephen A Smith lambasted the actor on Twitter for “staining” the greatest moment of his career, before taking to a video to express his disappointment.
It’s the Black Hollywood equivalent of being dragged to a corner and told off by your parents for “cutting up” in public and embarrassing your family. Except Smith isn’t a child and the stakes here are much higher. Either way, it’s clear that many people (even those in the community who mean well) only find the incident so objectionable because they hoped Smith would perform propriety for white people in that space.”
The Stephen A Smith mentioned above is black, by the way.
So what you’re saying, Mr Guardian journalist, is that no black man should ever be criticised by anyone – white or black – for anything, including violent behaviour.
You must have a degree in Black Studies, or Critical Race Theory, to come up with that sort of twisted logic.
Islam has no place in our society-Islam is a political ideology as is well known and as long as this considered stupid and apparently ignorant government continue with such remarks, it fuels those who follow the teachings of Islam to play us for fools, and belive me they are.
The Telford child sexual exploitation scandal was a scandal in the United Kingdom. Originally, a group of men were convicted of grooming local children for sex between 2007 and 2009 in Telford in the English county of Shropshire.[1][2][3] While media reports had suggested 100 or more girls had been affected[4] and around 200 perpetrators were suspected,[5] the Sunday Mirror reported in March 2018 that up to 1,000 girls may have been abused, with some even murdered, in incidents dating back to the 1970s.[6]

‘Ukraine urges countries to make ‘Z’ symbol illegal
Ukraine has called on countries to criminalise the use of the “Z” symbol that shows support for the war.
17:24 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-europe-60890199
Initially used to mark Russian tanks rolling into Ukraine, the letter Z – thought to stand for “za pobedu” (for victory) – has been adopted by Russians to signal approval of the invasion.
Three German states – Berlin, Bavaria and Lower Saxony – have already said anyone brandishing the symbol to promote the war could be punished with up to three years in jail.
And Germany’s interior ministry has warned that those displaying the symbol to “endorse” the invasion could be “liable to prosecution”.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitry Kuleba has called on other countries to follow Germany’s lead.’

Robert Malone: Advocacy Journalism is Propaganda

The Queen is at a service of thanksgiving for the life of Prince Philip at Westminster Abbey
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-60904990
And in the comment/reports below the bBC thought it would add the following:-
Downing Street had to apologise to the Queen last year about the gathering held on the eve of Prince Philip’s funeral.
That funeral produced the moving image of the Queen sitting alone as she complied with Covid regulations.
And in another overlapping of these stories the first “partygate” fines are being issued on the day of Prince Philip’s memorial.
I’m so glad the bBC didn’t let us forget about “partygate”! Altough how relevant this is to do with the service today is beyond me

I tended to terror victim Lee Rigby as if he was my own son, says Angel of Woolwich
mother hailed “the Angel of Woolwich” after she tended to Lee Rigby as he lay dying on the road said she comforted him as she would her own son.
Amanda Donnelly, 44, and her daughter Gemini, 20, knelt and prayed by the fallen soldier as his killers ranted at cameras.

How is this even considered reasonable after the maniac Jihadist had decapitated Lee Rigby? You don’t lie dying when your head has been removed !

Might acctually be a deal done soon in Ukraine?
“Russia’s top negotiator Vladimir Medinsky has disclosed the key points of Istanbul talks:
▪️Ukraine is ready to become a neutral state, unable to own nuclear weapons, with internationally guaranteed independence
▪️Guarantees will not be extended to Donbass region and Russia owned Crimean Peninsula – which would make Kiev formally abandon idea to annex them militarily
▪️Ukraine would be unable to have any military presence – including NATO and Russian forces
▪️Russia does not oppose Ukraine potentially joining the European Union
Kiev is requesting for final treaty to be formalised by Russian and Ukrainian heads of states”

Ukraine is ready to become a neutral state, unable to own nuclear weapons, with internationally guaranteed independence
December 1994
The Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances comprises three identical political agreements signed at the OSCE conference in Budapest, Hungary, on 5 December 1994, to provide security assurances by its signatories relating to the accession of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The memorandum was originally signed by three nuclear powers: the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and the United States. China and France gave somewhat weaker individual assurances in separate documents.[1]

I was wondering how long before some turd would link the Will Smith story to racism.
Step forward The Guardian. How predictable.
The only racism involved is that Will Smith is getting off lightly because he’s black.
If it had been white on black, he’d be in jail by now, and we’d be in for years more of George Floyd-style Burning, Looting and Murdering riots.

Halifax, 1832. Anne Lister returns from Hastings to Shibden Hall, having discovered that her would-be companion and lover, the aristocratic Vere Hobart, has accepted a marriage proposal from a man. Despite her affection for her elderly aunt, Anne is frustrated by the shabbiness of her ancestral home and finds her father and long-suffering sister difficult to live with. A visit from her ex-lover Mariana Lawton compounds Anne’s fear that she is destined to be alone. However, when Anne discovers that her land is rich in coal, her plans to transform the estate soon provide a welcome distraction from her broken heart. On the neighbouring estate, Crow Nest, shy heiress Ann Walker is quietly delighted to hear that charismatic Anne Lister is back. Meanwhile, Anne’s servants and tenants have problems of their own. A hit-and-run accident on Shibden land puts a child’s life at risk, and Anne’s French maid Eugenie finds herself in trouble.

Only one word that matters to the lefty libtards:
Guardian:
“Most people agree the slap shouldn’t have happened. But ”
Yep, the but, we will find some tenuous reason for blacks to insert violence into anything,
compare and contrast :
Berlin, September 14, 2021 — United Kingdom authorities must conduct a swift and thorough investigation into the threats against journalist Phillip Norton and his crew and ensure their safety, the Committee to Protect Journalists said today.
On August 28, demonstrators protesting the government’s measures to curb COVID-19 in Scarborough, a resort town on England’s North Sea coast, surrounded and threatened Norton, a reporter for public broadcaster BBC

Do BBC progs drive people to suicide ?
.. Aren’t media staff fixated on steering up doom and gloom ?
.. claiming everyone is in POVERTY and that things will get worse ..shouting “The Cost Of Living Crisis”
Making narratives that normal righty politicians are fascists etc.
That everyone who is not a straight white male is in a SPECIAL VICTIMHOOH group
Well someone committed suicide in front of a female BBC presenter’s train
and she Jen Bartram @JenBartram is really upset about it
.. https://twitter.com/JenBartram/status/1508799868202070016
It certainly wasn’t her direct fault, it was they that made the jump
And we don’t know the personal circumstances.
But in general medial people STIR the waters, rather than CALM them.

Stew, quite right. Doom and gloom sells and newspapers need sales. Inflation may kill off a few titles in the next couple of years. Mind you, in the case of the Daily Express they like ‘good news’ on a regular basis; see today’s front page https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-60908585.

These actual lines in the drama at minute 43 were crucial to the anti-Tory emotion they were building up to
Feb 2nd

Simples.

And further:

….

Marky – I see that this inquiry has been running for FIVE YEARS …. and that the report will be published on Wednesday morning .
I won’t repeat what I think of the NHS which I believe displays all the hallmarks of a self serving bloated monster …
… i would be interested if ‘names are named ‘ –
how many records were accidentally destroyed ?
Are the people responsible likely to be prosecuted ?
How critical will the inquiry report actually be ?
Bearing in mind how the BBC is chief cheer leader for the NHS i reckon this story won’t feature very high or long in the news agenda …..
Unless – of course – the victims are mainly non white …

‘Ukraine urges countries to make ‘Z’ symbol illegal
Ukraine has called on countries to criminalise the use of the “Z” symbol that shows support for the war.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-europe-60890199
