You would think that Starmer, being forensic, would have been able to understand that his party shenanigans would come out sooner or later.
I bet the growler was cursing him going on and on about boris’ party knowing that she would also be found out.

But he thought that he was in a safe crowd of Labour members who wouldn’t spill the beans, unlike Boris who was surrounded by , even mislead by, a crowd of leftist civil servants who wanted to take him down. It was only chance that someone passing videoed beer gate on their phone.
Additionally Starmer knew that Durham police were in Labour’s pocket . Again unlike Boris where Kahn controlled the met and forced them to investigate and issue fines . Does anyone believe that Starmer will be fined by the police in Durham?
Thirdly Starmer knew that the MSM wouldn’t carry the story for months on end and would probably be able to suppress it even if it did break. Is this story being pursued by the BBC et al with anything like the same vigour that Partygate was?

Did anyone post on the previous thread about the new Dr Who? It is just so predictable that it is tedious. It is obvious that all the press releases mentioned his colour. The BBC just cannot understand that his colour should be irrelevant.

On “Reporting Scotland” tonight, they made a big thing of him being a Scot. The fourth Scot to play the Doctor, after Sylvester McCoy, David Tennant and Peter Capaldi. They were well into the report before they mentioned he was the first black guy to play the part. They said he had had a hard life. He faced genocide in Rwanda and then racism in Scotland, the latter horror obviously being on a par with the first.

I haven’t watched Dr Who regularly since Tom Baker days but I occasionally tune in just to laugh at both the flagrant and the subliminal woke messages. Last time I saw it the show was gayer than Sodom and Gomorrah on a Saturday night. This new guy is clearly going to find himself being the conduit for a whole torrent of progressive pap about his race. Maybe there will be a story about Gallifrey’s racist past when bad white Gallifreyans enslaved good black Gallifreyans. Or when there was segregated seating in Tardises. Or when affirmative action was introduced at Timelord College.

Self-respecting actors should not allow their art to be hijacked for propaganda purposes. But few of them seem to know the difference between art and propaganda these days.

Well done BBC , a programme without bias . Informative and entertaining .
    Can you do more ?
    No .
Im not all that into Northern Irish politics but one thing stands out .
Sinn Fein can be absolved from any atrocities .
But compare that to any ( in the BBCs eyes ) a so called right wing political party . Like the French elections .
Obviously anyone , any party , any movement who starts from a more right wing politics who is not approved by the BBC and its likes is deemed beyond the pail and cannot be reformed ( to them ) .
Dont forget we had New Labour . Can we have new Front National ? Even under a different name ?
No , the left/progressives / anti Britain / anti English are given a free pass but a libertarian/right wing organisation , or individual , must flagellate until he`s seemed safe to refer to by the BBC .

There is a big line of corrupt of corruptocrat politicians and the Crime families in the Dem party in America, who are going to get even richer, as our money vanishes out of the backdoor in Kiev as quickly as it comes in. It is an hour and a half long and needs to be watched carefully from beginning to end. The result is confirmation for any rational person that there was corruption on a massive scale (even more than I thought) and that Trump did win the election.
    I’ll try again later.

I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you watch 2000 Mules you will not only see how the voter fraud was carried out but you will realise just how corrupt and downright dishonest and evil the current US administration and Democratic Party are to allow this to happen and to blatantly deny it afterwards. It’s chilling. It could well happen to other Anglosphere countries if the honest citizens don’t keep a close eye on the voting system.

Starmer is the author of the current difficult Political situation in Northern Ireland, in part. As cheerleader for Remain and “the second vote”, he helped to weaken our negotiating position with the EU who were delighted to be negotiating with a divided enemy. The result was that the tricky border situation in NI became a great bargaining chip for them hence the unsatisfactory NI protocol.
In fact Starmer and his chums did their best to derail Brexit hence many unnecessary concessions were made.

Starmer’s relentless attacks on Boris, partygate etc seems strange in the light of beer/currygate. You would have thought that he would have recognised his potential vulnerability and eased off a bit
I believe he carried on regardless for what I suggest are three main reasons:

    1) Simple arrogance.A feature of his personality (lack of)

    2) As a Barrister and part of DPP he is used to questioning and accusing others of crimes and lying. No one ever questions a Barrister do they?

    3) There is a standard technique in the legal world much used by the legal profeesion. It’s called lying

Like most sane people I couldn’t give a stuff if Starmer was quaffing beer and curry all night, but he is definitely “guilty” of rank hypocrisy and even worse…he’s been found out.

It’s delightful to watch Labour members who were absolutely obsessed with the puerile matters of parties and cake and calling for Johnson to resign on a daily basis, now saying, “Oh, for Heaven’s sake, there are far more important things to talk about than beer and curry.” Oh yes!

Heard Andrew Fleming on ‘Toady’ this am describing Starmer’s cancellation of his speech at IoG today.

He said that “beergate” was not a name that had really ‘caught on in the public’s mind’ but that Starmer would feel that all the ‘oxygen in the room’ would be taken away by the tiny ‘beergate’ revelations and that his ‘strategy’ (whatever it is) would be overshadowed by that, so he cancelled.

They haven’t seen him take on a single Dalek, Sontaran or Cyberman as yet, but the left-leaning ‘i’ newspaper straight out of the blocks reckons the BBC have discovered a: ‘Dazzling new Doctor Who‘ – such confidence.

The chap himself is more reticent: ‘Ncuti Gatwa “a bit scared” to take Time Lord role‘ (‘i’) – I know how he feels, as a small kid I often used to have to hide behind the sofa when the monsters appeared. Now I’ve taken things to extremes… and cancelled my TV licence.

Speaking of negative audience reactions… we’re agreed that reading these modest daily press reviews hereabouts with their satirical anti-BBC-led-mainstream-media-leftist-bias twist is a purely voluntary pastime, right? Don’t like it? You can always take a leaf from Dionne Warwick’s song book and Walk... scroll (?) On By.

No one is strapped to a dentist’s chair with their eyelids clamped open – Clockwork Orange-like – and force fed. Phew, that’s got that bit of any other business out of the way and hopefully cleared the air… like some soft summer breeze.

The ‘i’ draws our attention to our apparent: ‘…strange obsession with celebrity court cases‘ – one assumes they refer to the on going Johnny Depp – Amber Heard drama. A cross between an episode of Perry Mason and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.

I’m not sure the ‘i’ is being quite fair with the public – it is the media which has determinedly force-fed us (bearing in mind my proviso above) this particular battle of the sexes psychodrama. I’m on board with the much-maligned roguish Captain Sparrow, by the way – if I had to pick a side.

In fact, I was far more intrigued by the Ghislaine Maxwell case and would have enjoyed the same sort of in-depth televised wall-to-wall coverage there. The cross-examinations, the objections, the over-rulings, the insults, the exhibits thrown around… and that was all before they got to court. Sadly, not a single additional name appeared in the Ghislaine Maxwell case – no shit-the-bed memorable moments from that at all. Funny that.

The same point was made last year, comparing the Russian and US ads, the latter running a story of some woke, feminist SJW with lesbian parents, in a sort-of mawkish, childish cartoon, I forget the details.

No wonder Putin thought he could get away with it.

Good point. The MSM are saying the Ukraine war has shown that the Red Army is a paper tiger. But that is only because it is opposed by determined fighters . If the Red Army comes up against a woke army I think that the result might be very different. The phrase knife through butter comes to mind. The main problem that the Wokist army will have will be coping with all their soldiers who want to return home to mommy rather than fight those nasty masculine Russians.

Agreed. But I have a question: the GOP is a large, well-funded, well-connected organisation. Why haven’t they put together a complete dossier of the many facets of the election fraud, with irrefutable evidence? Instead it’s left to individuals like D’Souza who do their best, but without the massive clout, means and influence of the Republican Party.

            Never Trumpers

I think we must all have met people by now that have something resembling a seizure / apoplexy at even the merest hint of Trump – let alone saying the name. I know a couple of people who are utterly and irrationally triggered by DJT and descend into spluttering hate filled rants at anything to do with the man. The MSM (BBC get a medal there) did a real job on DJT – a number of my acquaintances are simply + completely irrational about “that man” and won’t consider that they’ve been manipulated – so strong is the hate….

There is also Trump the outsider – who “stole” the elite’s toys. Trump’s team wasn’t filled with unalloyed best in class lieutenants and the career bureaucrats with a few exceptions regarded him as an upstart to be obstructed. The procession of backstabbing REMFs who leaked, lied and conspired against the administration – with seeming impunity is a long one…

Here’s hoping that multi-Petabyte trove of data and the outstanding thousands of hours of CCTV FoI produce more of the same….

Those evil Tories have botched PPE, but Jolyon Maugham’s Good Law Project saves the day.

Union Jax the patiotic cake company are recruited to provide PPE
The amazed young executives point out that their expertise is more in the line of cakes and biscuits in the shape of London landmarks or marzipan models of the Royal Family.
Shouldn’t they be using people who know about this stuff?
But Eugene assures them that this government doesn’t do things the way they’ve always been done. They think outside the box.
But as deadlines draw near and Union Jax discovers itself way out of its depth when it comes to PPE,
the Good Law Project comes calling.
Exactly why have millions been spaffed on these neophyte incompetents?
And, awkwardly, neither Stuart nor Jacqueline can provide a credible answer.

When are (i) rules rules and (ii) guidance is not a rule? When it is the Conservative Government and the PM in the case of (i) and the Labour Party and its Leader & Deputy Leader in the case of (ii). The BBC has got itself into a slightly awkward position over the ‘Partygates’ or ‘Partygate’ and ‘Beerandcurrygate’. It has been going after the Prime Minister and the Government hell for leather for nearly a year so the BBC now needs to make itself appear rather more neutral. Expect plenty of ‘Beerandcurrygate’ from now on.

BBC attention is therefore switching to ‘Beerandcurrygate’ as the BBC really desperately seeks to make itself appear impartial and so Jonny ‘Disco nnected’ Dymond introduces the word ‘guidance’ to make Sir Keir Starmer’s and Angela Rayner’s rule breaking appear subtly different to the PM’s rule breaking. And all this while the police investigation is ongoing and can be influenced. Hhmmmn.

A cunning plan of which Baldrick would be proud. Methinks the BBC speak with forked tongue.

One of the first casualties of the rise in worldwide gas & oil prices is Sri Lanka which has effectively run out of gas for cooking with what little they do have being reserved for industry and hospitals.

Societal breakdown has been happening for a while but it is of course becoming worse.

In the UK we probably won’t run out of gas but people won’t be able to afford it as prices skyrocket ever higher, and one of two things must happen. Bills won’t be paid and users will be cut off, or they won’t use it voluntarily.

What then? Will we begin to see social unrest as people go hungry and freeze? It is a distinct posibility now we have imported millions of foreigners more ready to resort to violence than the supine British stiff upper lip population.
