Oh, how sweet.
At the BAFTA TV awards, all the entitled millionaires cheered at the proposition that Channel 4 should not be privatised and that the BBC should be preserved.
Gotta keep the money flowing…….
Did anyone post on the previous thread about the new Dr Who? It is just so predictable that it is tedious. It is obvious that all the press releases mentioned his colour. The BBC just cannot understand that his colour should be irrelevant.
On “Reporting Scotland” tonight, they made a big thing of him being a Scot. The fourth Scot to play the Doctor, after Sylvester McCoy, David Tennant and Peter Capaldi. They were well into the report before they mentioned he was the first black guy to play the part. They said he had had a hard life. He faced genocide in Rwanda and then racism in Scotland, the latter horror obviously being on a par with the first.
I haven’t watched Dr Who regularly since Tom Baker days but I occasionally tune in just to laugh at both the flagrant and the subliminal woke messages. Last time I saw it the show was gayer than Sodom and Gomorrah on a Saturday night. This new guy is clearly going to find himself being the conduit for a whole torrent of progressive pap about his race. Maybe there will be a story about Gallifrey’s racist past when bad white Gallifreyans enslaved good black Gallifreyans. Or when there was segregated seating in Tardises. Or when affirmative action was introduced at Timelord College.
Self-respecting actors should not allow their art to be hijacked for propaganda purposes. But few of them seem to know the difference between art and propaganda these days.
BBC Radio 4 12.30pm
The Place For Hungry Minds .
Well done BBC , a programme without bias . Informative and entertaining .
Can you do more ?
No .
Im not all that into Northern Irish politics but one thing stands out .
Sinn Fein can be absolved from any atrocities .
But compare that to any ( in the BBCs eyes ) a so called right wing political party . Like the French elections .
Obviously anyone , any party , any movement who starts from a more right wing politics who is not approved by the BBC and its likes is deemed beyond the pail and cannot be reformed ( to them ) .
Dont forget we had New Labour . Can we have new Front National ? Even under a different name ?
No , the left/progressives / anti Britain / anti English are given a free pass but a libertarian/right wing organisation , or individual , must flagellate until he`s seemed safe to refer to by the BBC .

Boris Johnson is to give £1.3 bn of our money to Ukraine – In cash and military toys to the most corrupt country in the world. The money is apparently from the UK Emergency fund.
There is a big line of corrupt of corruptocrat politicians and the Crime families in the Dem party in America, who are going to get even richer, as our money vanishes out of the backdoor in Kiev as quickly as it comes in. Too, the military equipment will make rhe illegal arms dealers even more rich.
I’ve just failed to repost the 2000mules link that Tomo gave us re the stolen US election.
It is an hour and a half long and needs to be watched carefully from beginning to end. The result is confirmation for any rational person that there was corruption on a massive scale (even more than I thought) and that Trump did win the election.
I’ll try again later.
Nope. I can’t get the link to work. I hope someone posts it again.
I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you watch 2000 Mules you will not only see how the voter fraud was carried out but you will realise just how corrupt and downright dishonest and evil the current US administration and Democratic Party are to allow this to happen and to blatantly deny it afterwards. It’s chilling. It could well happen to other Anglosphere countries if the honest citizens don’t keep a close eye on the voting system.
Starmer is the author of the current difficult Political situation in Northern Ireland, in part. As cheerleader for Remain and “the second vote”, he helped to weaken our negotiating position with the EU who were delighted to be negotiating with a divided enemy. The result was that the tricky border situation in NI became a great bargaining chip for them hence the unsatisfactory NI protocol.
In fact Starmer and his chums did their best to derail Brexit hence many unnecessary concessions were made.
TOADY Watch #1 – celebrate 9th May, celebrate live – Lyse Doucet is back from her 5/6/7/8 weeks of hols
They do like their holidays at the BBC but please bear in mind that Lyse is the BBC’s Senior Foreign Correspondent as well as visiting Professor at the Dame Celia Vowelstrangler’s School of Mispronunciation.
Merry You Poll (or not, if you are Boris Johnson or the DUP)
Lyse talks to James Waterhouse, also in Ukraine, another BBC Correspondent. BBC talks to BBC and we are allowed to eavesdrop. Whatever happened to vox pops?
Starmer’s relentless attacks on Boris, partygate etc seems strange in the light of beer/currygate. You would have thought that he would have recognised his potential vulnerability and eased off a bit
I believe he carried on regardless for what I suggest are three main reasons:
1) Simple arrogance.A feature of his personality (lack of)
2) As a Barrister and part of DPP he is used to questioning and accusing others of crimes and lying. No one ever questions a Barrister do they?
3) There is a standard technique in the legal world much used by the legal profeesion. It’s called lying
Just another easy Bee Lady interview with a Labour MP – someone called Wes streeting – very aggressive and rolled over the dizzy bee lady who can’t be bothered – or instructed – not to put labour on the spot over the beer / curry gate hypocrisy ….
….. it’s a lesson in deflection labour reporting the waste of PPE and taxpayers’ cash whilst starmer is in his bunker with his ‘legal team ‘…. No doubt exploiting leaks from friendly civil servants in Durham plod ….
Funny how the approach of the BBC to labour is so restrained compared to the onslaught nut nut faced ….
What a completely bizarre article. A story written by a kidult for other, like-minded idiots.
‘.. Chidi, a Nigerian creative designer and founder of Looty, who declined to give his surname because, he said, he wants people to focus on his project and not his person.’
Wrong you gullible, woke BBC cretin. It’s because it’s a scam.
JohnC,
I am sure you are right, it says the writer of that article is a Nigerian novelist and they bang on about the value of nonfungible tokens (NFT) such as Jack Dorsey’s original tweet selling for $3m last year. They totally fail to mention the well known fact that it resold at auction last month for less than $10,000.
Edit: BTW, I remember the last time I passed through the British Museum’s African collection – I was on my way upstairs to look at the Japanese stuff.
There’s a very wise old adage that says, people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. It would seem that Sir Beer Starmer has been doing lobbing bricks while residing in a veritable Crystal Palace,.
Like most sane people I couldn’t give a stuff if Starmer was quaffing beer and curry all night, but he is definitely “guilty” of rank hypocrisy and even worse…he’s been found out.
It’s delightful to watch Labour members who were absolutely obsessed with the puerile matters of parties and cake and calling for Johnson to resign on a daily basis, now saying, “Oh, for Heaven’s sake, there are far more important things to talk about than beer and curry.” Oh yes!
Jeff
I reckon there are more ‘events ‘ at which these red Labour people breached the covid rule they voted into law – it will be tricky for Durham plod to avoid whitewash allegations when they decline to issue tickets / questionnaires ….
..this might drag on for a while and labour must be praying for a substantial event to take the residue of public interest in this away – as with the BBC of course …
BTW
I saw that some award thing happened ? Did anything worthy win ? ( actually – don’t bother – lost interest when I wrote this )
Fed, apparently so. Diversity at its best, where most of the population haven’t a clue who they are, well, apart from Bill & Ben who have no competition. I only gleaned this info from the internet, never watch these self congratulatory shows.
Heard Andrew Fleming on ‘Toady’ this am describing Starmer’s cancellation of his speech at IoG today.
He said that “beergate” was not a name that had really ‘caught on in the public’s mind’ but that Starmer would feel that all the ‘oxygen in the room’ would be taken away by the tiny ‘beergate’ revelations and that his ‘strategy’ (whatever it is) would be overshadowed by that, so he cancelled.
So, not running away then ? Glad that’s sorted out.
Ukrainian refugees have been placed with unvetted hosts and in unsuitable homes because the government has yet to give councils any funding for vital safety checks.
Hosting arrangements under the Homes for Ukraine route are already breaking down, as it emerged the required DBS background checks are not always being done before refugees arrive in the UK.

And the creme-de-la-creme of this typical BBC/Leftist agenda based diarrhea for me is:
‘And if I go in the disabled bathroom then I feel like I am taking it from other people who need it more than I do.’
I wonder who that school caters for if there is a constant queue for the disabled toilet.
Unfortunately there is no author given so I can’t check twitter to confirm it is another clueless 25 year old female that the BBC took on and now need to give something to do.

Meanwhile, Simon Jack BBC’s Business Editor, is apparent by his lack of apparentness along with Faisal Islam, BBC’s Economics Editor, who like Simon is just like the Cheshire Cat grinning because of the huge salaries they receive in return for prolonged absences: Top Cats who appear to do very little in return for their likely £250,000 salaries.
Further examples of the BBC’s profligate waste of TellyTaxpayers’ money.

Al Beeb and the EU are so excited with anticipation.
I am sure that the EU will find a way to welcome an zIndependent Scotland and to inflict as much damage on the RUK as possible. To Macron and Brussels it would be an irresistible opportunity to demonstrate the pain that the EU can inflict on any country which crosses it.
I see Eurovision as the people who ‘work’ at the BBC to get a free holiday somewhere in Europe – although haven’t some countries further afield now been able to join – so holidays can been even more exotic.
What it certainly isn’t about is bring countries together (What? We once sang in the same competition, didn’t vote for our friends and now won’t fight each other? Tell that to the SNP or Sinn Fein). Nor is it about good music. So the holidays it is then.
Eurovision? Waste of time and money? Yes, and more besides; not very tuneful judging by some of clips of this year’s entry played by Paddy O’Connell on TWatO. Eeeeeek!

By hook or by crook edition
They haven’t seen him take on a single Dalek, Sontaran or Cyberman as yet, but the left-leaning ‘i’ newspaper straight out of the blocks reckons the BBC have discovered a: ‘Dazzling new Doctor Who‘ – such confidence.
The chap himself is more reticent: ‘Ncuti Gatwa “a bit scared” to take Time Lord role‘ (‘i’) – I know how he feels, as a small kid I often used to have to hide behind the sofa when the monsters appeared. Now I’ve taken things to extremes… and cancelled my TV licence.
Speaking of negative audience reactions… we’re agreed that reading these modest daily press reviews hereabouts with their satirical anti-BBC-led-mainstream-media-leftist-bias twist is a purely voluntary pastime, right? Don’t like it? You can always take a leaf from Dionne Warwick’s song book and Walk... scroll (?) On By.
No one is strapped to a dentist’s chair with their eyelids clamped open – Clockwork Orange-like – and force fed. Phew, that’s got that bit of any other business out of the way and hopefully cleared the air… like some soft summer breeze.
The ‘i’ draws our attention to our apparent: ‘…strange obsession with celebrity court cases‘ – one assumes they refer to the on going Johnny Depp – Amber Heard drama. A cross between an episode of Perry Mason and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.
I’m not sure the ‘i’ is being quite fair with the public – it is the media which has determinedly force-fed us (bearing in mind my proviso above) this particular battle of the sexes psychodrama. I’m on board with the much-maligned roguish Captain Sparrow, by the way – if I had to pick a side.
In fact, I was far more intrigued by the Ghislaine Maxwell case and would have enjoyed the same sort of in-depth televised wall-to-wall coverage there. The cross-examinations, the objections, the over-rulings, the insults, the exhibits thrown around… and that was all before they got to court. Sadly, not a single additional name appeared in the Ghislaine Maxwell case – no shit-the-bed memorable moments from that at all. Funny that.
Speaking of the battle of the sexes…

The man coaching the sky blues senses bias: ‘Guardiola: The country is against us. Title race mind games as City manager says everyone wants Liverpool to win‘ (Telegraph)
I think he has a point. A little birdie told me that they wouldn’t say there was bias… but as they drove past the VAR Hub at Stockley Park they noticed several Liverpool flags in the windows.
The left-leaning ‘i’ assisting the BBC and Channel 4, apparently has more points to make up than Liverpool FC – by hook or by crook: ‘Comer is Baftas queen. Leading actress among awards dominated by public service broadcasters‘
If the i finds that strange, the pervasive nature of supposed ‘news’ stories and tab Twitter handles with ‘Celebrity’ appended will blow their tiny minds.

Keir Starmer was DPP for five years and got Knighted for it. Now we see Starmer revealed for what he is, it makes me wonder regarding his probity as DPP and as a defence Barrister. How much manipulation and lying went on as DPP? And as a defence Barrister?
People who are fortunately unfamiliar with our “wonderful” legal system will think it is indeed wonderful. I’ve had a number of brushes with the Law in Civil cases on both sides of the fence. I can assure you all that manipulation and lies are the routine stock in trade of the legal profeesion.

Mark, I believe you’re contrasting the tough Russian military with our own effete, woke, snowflake recruitment ads.
The same point was made last year, comparing the Russian and US ads, the latter running a story of some woke, feminist SJW with lesbian parents, in a sort-of mawkish, childish cartoon, I forget the details.
No wonder Putin thought he could get away with it.
“Russian Army Ad Makes Woke US Army Ad Look Like a Joke for Kids” – Rubin Report
Good point. The MSM are saying the Ukraine war has shown that the Red Army is a paper tiger. But that is only because it is opposed by determined fighters . If the Red Army comes up against a woke army I think that the result might be very different. The phrase knife through butter comes to mind. The main problem that the Wokist army will have will be coping with all their soldiers who want to return home to mommy rather than fight those nasty masculine Russians.

Agreed. But I have a question: the GOP is a large, well-funded, well-connected organisation. Why haven’t they put together a complete dossier of the many facets of the election fraud, with irrefutable evidence? Instead it’s left to individuals like D’Souza who do their best, but without the massive clout, means and influence of the Republican Party.
I think we must all have met people by now that have something resembling a seizure / apoplexy at even the merest hint of Trump – let alone saying the name. I know a couple of people who are utterly and irrationally triggered by DJT and descend into spluttering hate filled rants at anything to do with the man. The MSM (BBC get a medal there) did a real job on DJT – a number of my acquaintances are simply + completely irrational about “that man” and won’t consider that they’ve been manipulated – so strong is the hate….
There is also Trump the outsider – who “stole” the elite’s toys. Trump’s team wasn’t filled with unalloyed best in class lieutenants and the career bureaucrats with a few exceptions regarded him as an upstart to be obstructed. The procession of backstabbing REMFs who leaked, lied and conspired against the administration – with seeming impunity is a long one…
Here’s hoping that multi-Petabyte trove of data and the outstanding thousands of hours of CCTV FoI produce more of the same….

When are (i) rules rules and (ii) guidance is not a rule? When it is the Conservative Government and the PM in the case of (i) and the Labour Party and its Leader & Deputy Leader in the case of (ii). The BBC has got itself into a slightly awkward position over the ‘Partygates’ or ‘Partygate’ and ‘Beerandcurrygate’. It has been going after the Prime Minister and the Government hell for leather for nearly a year so the BBC now needs to make itself appear rather more neutral. Expect plenty of ‘Beerandcurrygate’ from now on.
BBC attention is therefore switching to ‘Beerandcurrygate’ as the BBC really desperately seeks to make itself appear impartial and so Jonny ‘Disco nnected’ Dymond introduces the word ‘guidance’ to make Sir Keir Starmer’s and Angela Rayner’s rule breaking appear subtly different to the PM’s rule breaking. And all this while the police investigation is ongoing and can be influenced. Hhmmmn.
A cunning plan of which Baldrick would be proud. Methinks the BBC speak with forked tongue.
One of the first casualties of the rise in worldwide gas & oil prices is Sri Lanka which has effectively run out of gas for cooking with what little they do have being reserved for industry and hospitals.
Societal breakdown has been happening for a while but it is of course becoming worse.
In the UK we probably won’t run out of gas but people won’t be able to afford it as prices skyrocket ever higher, and one of two things must happen. Bills won’t be paid and users will be cut off, or they won’t use it voluntarily.
What then? Will we begin to see social unrest as people go hungry and freeze? It is a distinct posibility now we have imported millions of foreigners more ready to resort to violence than the supine British stiff upper lip population.

I now understand why Russia does not use massive force and bring this war to an end.
I’m guessing that Russia is waging war at a slow pace, so that the West bleeds its blood into Ukraine drop by drop.
Even if that is not the strategy, that is what is happening.
The sanctions do not hurt Russia whatever. Its we who are being hurt by the sanctions. BJ’s revenge for trying to get him out.
BJ to handover 1.3bn of our money to Ukraine.

And Der Sturmer’s defence/attack team comprises both Lieutenant Colonel Lady Nugee and Blair’s fixer in chief, Lord Goldsmith.

Nigeria’s Looty seeks to reclaim African art in digital form
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-61318785
What a completely bizarre article. A story written by a kidult for other, like-minded idiots.
‘.. Chidi, a Nigerian creative designer and founder of Looty, who declined to give his surname because, he said, he wants people to focus on his project and not his person.’
Wrong you gullible, woke BBC cretin. It’s because it’s a scam.

I am sure you are right, it says the writer of that article is a Nigerian novelist and they bang on about the value of nonfungible tokens (NFT) such as Jack Dorsey’s original tweet selling for $3m last year. Edit: BTW, I remember the last time I passed through the British Museum’s African collection – I was on my way upstairs to look at the Japanese stuff.

Sir Beer Starmer your credibility has gone.

I reckon there are more ‘events ‘ at which these red Labour people breached the covid rule they voted into law – it will be tricky for Durham plod to avoid whitewash allegations when they decline to issue tickets / questionnaires ….

Yes Jeff.

Bryony Gordon in the Telegraph advises: ‘Separate beds make for a happy marriage‘
The Times takes up the same theme: ‘Couples beware. What not to watch on TV together‘
The giveaway Metro celebrates: ‘Bono in Kyiv. We’re with U2‘ – meanwhile Zelensky (pick your favourite spelling there) is pictured frontpage in the freebie advertising sheet wearing what we take to be his tour T-shirt emblazoned “I’m Ukrainian” (English spelling, natch)
– I’m gussing, in the way of these things, the back of the shirt reads: EU accession dates: France, Italy and Germany (plus other minor venues) 1957; UK 1973 (cancelled); Greece 1981; Spain 1986; Finland 1995; The Eastern Bloc 2004; Rumania 2007; Georgia & Ukraine 2008 – both gigs delayed due to unforseen circumstances; Turkey – yet to be announced… due to Brexit… Covid… Climate Change… anything but islam?
21 likes

Those evil Tories have botched PPE, but Jolyon Maugham’s Good Law Project saves the day.
Union Jax the patiotic cake company are recruited to provide PPE
The amazed young executives point out that their expertise is more in the line of cakes and biscuits in the shape of London landmarks or marzipan models of the Royal Family.
Shouldn’t they be using people who know about this stuff?
But Eugene assures them that this government doesn’t do things the way they’ve always been done. They think outside the box.
But as deadlines draw near and Union Jax discovers itself way out of its depth when it comes to PPE,
the Good Law Project comes calling.
Exactly why have millions been spaffed on these neophyte incompetents?
And, awkwardly, neither Stuart nor Jacqueline can provide a credible answer.
Government caller ‘Yes your website says you supply Party Masks but we want to use you as a supplier of surgical masks’

Jonny ‘Dis con nect ed’ Dymond was in charge as the Montacutie is taking an even longer long weekend than usual away from the BBC. Bluebottle type voice: “Thinks – I would like a job like that, paid lots of money for working three days a week. Euuuaah. Further thinks, I could afford to buy a whole pound of acid drops and then all the girls in the playground would crowd around me. Teheeee!”
Jonny pronounces ‘tSerguy’ immaculately without hesitation, repetition or deviation unlike some or even many of his BBC colleagues who insist in pronouncing ‘tSerguy’ as Sir Gay.

As I have reported before.
Its standard BBC practice to put the picture up of the victim if its a BME perpetrator. If it’s a women that’s been killed by a white man then his picture I’s front and centre.
Here is another example.

RIP Dennis Waterman.
I think Minder is one of the all time tv greats along with the likes of Fawlty Towers and Auf wiedersehen pet.
There’s a film I saw him in from 1968 which I can fully recommend to you all.
Up the Junction.
Lots of well known faces from that time plus an excellent soundtrack by Manfred Mann.

You gotta feel sorry for Ukraine, all those publicity hungry politicos flocking in for photo ops; the latest being Jill Biden and Justin Trudeau. As if the poor Ukrainians aren’t suffering enough.
Interesting to see Jilly standing up for Ukraine’s borders while husband Joe can’t be bothered defending America’s (all those yummy illegal Hispanic voters pouring in!).
Aldo interesting to see Trudeau there. He actually has more in common with Putin, seeing imaginary Fascists everywhere – for example all those Nazi truckers.
And, like Putin, he also clamps down on free speech and civil liberties when it suits him.

Media have a habit of using these quick EXTRAORDINARY gotcha claims
that MIGHT be true ..so make a good story
Then you have to spend 6 hour down an internet rabbit hole checking if the claim is true
.. when actually it should be up to the media who make the extraordinary CLAIM to show the extraordinary EVIDENCE
Instead of backing their claim with evidence they are apt to hype it with rhetoric.
I cite the case of “rich” profesional activist Elsie allegedly spending all day on London buses to stay warm
And the idea Paul J Watson should be cancelled co someone has a 27 second sound clip, that could be him, from some unknown past time, and unknown context.

These #MightBeTrueStories are attractive to media
but they are a form of disinformation, that mis-portray our world
They are only “information”, if the full proof is supplied.
