Start the Week 13 June 2022

Two aspects of the Fight For Freedom this week –

Happy first birthday to GBNews . The Far Left BBC and rest of the woke media and OFCOM haven’t managed to kill off a bit diversity of thought yet …Free Speech in Britain continues to be suppressed -but at least GBNews offers something a bit different .

And on a more sombre note `Tuesday 14th of June commemorates the 40th anniversary of another fight for freedom – The Falklands War – or as the BBC would prefer to call it – The Malvinas …….

In this interview, the journalist and presenter talks about how tough it was to leave Ukraine the first time and why the BBC deserves to be the pride of our nation. ⬇️

Clive of Kviv going to wear a rainbow flak jacket this month?

    • Guest Who says:

Further to utterly rigged propaganda masquerading as news, Twitter’s opening page has a stop the flights thing on Rwanda with a departure lounge rammed with fat ladies of color in curtains, babies in slings and a couple of skinny blokes in denim.

The effect is rather spoiled by every one of them sporting gleaming white designer trainers.

  3. StewGreen says:

    BBC local news
“The Archbishop of York has condemned the Rwanda flights”
Then they played a clip of Dominic Raab justifying them.

Why did they choose to FRAME the story with “Archbishop says” ?

    #2 M62 roadworks blah blah

#3 “Councils say rising inflation means they will have to cut services in the winter.”
    (eh that’s a bit obvious )
but hang on this is all framing so they can say
#4..”Hull Labour MP says leveling up is happening more in the south than the north”
clip “…Inflation means .. It’s leveling DOWN for everybody”
…. Doh her politics automatically means more inflation
: Crazy Green polices, Covid lockdowns, open borders, payrises mean things COST MORE and therefore the public and the government can buy LESS.

    • StewGreen says:

#5 “the Yorkshire based charity the brain tumour Trust says that the cost of living crisis is hitting donations more than covid did”
      .. so that’s just words.

#6 “could 30 million tons of carbon dioxide be soon star of the east Yorkshire coast by 2030 ? the government is issuing licences for carbon storage”
Doh CCS is a Holy Grail but no one can get it to work economically never mind stopping The chambers from leaking.
      2030 is NOT “soon”

Then they played a clip of the North Sea Transition Authority guy
(government body formerly known as North Sea Oil and Gas Authority)

    • StewGreen says:

      I meant
but hang on this is all framing so they can say
#4..”Hull Labour MP Diana Johnson says leveling up is happening more in the south than the north”
clip “…Inflation means .. It’s leveling DOWN for everybody”

  4. Guest Who says:

The references have always baffled, frankly.

The % of color paying in the mud vs. free in the BBC tent would be actually interesting.

    • StewGreen says:

      The intro there begins
“Sir Lenny Henry has said it is ‘interesting’ to see the apparent lack of black people in the audience at Glastonbury Festival”
      It’s a GBnews story

Nottinghill Carnival is about 80% black

      • Wild Bill says:

Does Lenny Henry expect blacks to be forced into going to Glastonbury, he is on tv a lot these days for some reason?

        • BRISSLES says:

I wonder how well known this idiot would be if he had tried to make his name in the States or elsewhere. Carry on Henry, yes we know your granny came from the WI and settled in Birmingham (?) because you’re becoming like the rest of the “chip on the shoulder” gang, who’ve made a career on being on the tele, then decide to moan about how terrible we all are. Two words – get stuffed.

        • TrickCyclist says:

“An adult pretender named Lenny Henry.”
A rather scattershot 17-minute video mostly about Amazon’s Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, but also about how bloody awful corporate owned entertainment has become.
Henry and his stupid pronouncements to Empire magazine feature heavily in the second half.

  5. AsISeeIt says:

The news headlines… sometimes they act to confirm our priors, to reinforce our prejudices… what I mean is – they may simply tell us things we already regard as being true…

Stop boring everyone to death, shadow cabinet tells Starmer (Times)

Sir Lenny Henry has said it is “interesting” to see the apparent lack of black people in the audience at Glastonbury Festival. (BBC) – not particularly interesting, but it is a fact.

Sturgeon starts new push for independence (Telegraph) – come back to us with new news.

News headlines can also be something akin to what the youngsters term a “hate-watch” where one derives a certain peasure and source of entertainment from the sheer toe-curling awfulness of what is presented – news editors know this…

The giveaway Metro editorial panders to what their corporate advertisers envisage to be a notionally young urban liberal diversity-minded audience: Clear for take-off. Asylum seekers set for Rwanda flight as appeal court rejects last ditch challenge – phrased so as to raise the hackles of armchair lefties and perhaps even as a call to action for a hardcore of real world runway-invading protesters? We’ll soon see.

The Telegraph assumes its audience tend toward Austrian school economics, or at they least reside in a higher tax bracket, so this bulletin should have them spluttering over their cornflakes: No tax cuts before inflation cools off.

The Telegraph still assumes some degree of residual patriotism in its readership: France ‘incresed fuel imports from Russia’ – and if that doesn’t raise the true blue British blood pressure of a morning by a notch or two, then I really don’t know what will?

It’s probably not a sound long-term plan to continually rile up your audience too much – one senses the BBC tries it and declining viewer and listenership figures have been the result.

The alternative is to pander to your base. To cultivate a hardcore of the like-minded within the wider demographic – and sod the rest.

Chuck them some red meat you just know they will gobble up…

Church versus Boris Johnson: bishops tell PM Rwanda flight ‘shames UK’ – nevermind that no copy of the ‘i’ newspaper has ever been found anywhere near an actual parish church. The point is that the lefty atheistic aesthetic – more likely to be Gaia-worshiping than C of E attendee – readership has an assumed in-built reflexive antipathy toward Boris and Tories in general and can happily cheer this headline like they were a home football crowd hearing a positive VAR result for their team.

So too this one for the Daily Mail’s readership: Rwanda flight latest. Court of common sense. To their credit, Judges have THREE TIMES rejected Left-wing activists’ demands to ground migrant flights – and remember folks, the British parliament is supposed to be the sovereign law-maker – so one really has to ask what exactly is the bloody issue here?

The FT panders to a globalist mindset of “Anywheres” an internationalist world citizenry that would be more comfortable should there be some utopian supranational world order: Brussels threatens legal action on bill to tear up N Ireland protocol

Likewise the Guardian readers remain in deep mourning post-Brexit and that title is more than happy to chum those waters: EU to fight UK in court over bid to scrap Brexit checks

As the Mod-father, the Bard of Woking, Paul Weller of The Jam once memorably sang: That’s Entertainment

And to think you thought you were reading “news” headlines…

And finally. Speaking of chumming the waters, we sense the Daily Star may have jumped the shark: Scorchio mahem. Hornet red alert from Spanish plume. Fears of 40C European headwave. Get set for an invasion of killer hornets, heatstroke and airport baggage hell.

  6. Thoughtful says:

Amazing that the bent media isn’t reporting the seismic events on the US stock market yesterday.

Bitcoin lost 10% and withdrawals from the currency were temporarily suspended.

The US stock market lost 4% of its value in one days trading, and this might very well be the start of a moment in history when the second great depression hits the Western world.

You can expect the media not to cover this because it isn’t socialism it’s capitalism, and they will begin to cover it when the effects begin to bite when they will use it to call for even more politics of death and failure.

They really are beyond the pale, and yet so are the so called Conservatives, who are so inept they can only spend money and are all at sea when it comes to managing an economy going through the downward cycle.

    • Fedup2 says:

Yes thoughtful – I don’t get it either . Are they just ‘thick’?

The UK E employment figures will give the mpc excuse to increase rates by .25% instead of the predicted .5% … meaning inflation will run and run ….. and the £ taking another kicking pushing oil up …. In time for … Christmas ( winter ) …

Perhaps the policy is to make carbon fuels so expensive people can’t afford them and save the planet by cutting the population during big freezes …..

    • JohnC says:

It makes Joe look bad and there are elections in a few months.

      • Fedup2 says:

No – won’t have any effect at all – but they’ll drop the majority by 2% … in fact they’ve probably already done it .
Get those mules ready and the counters fixed and he software tweaked ….

  8. StewGreen says:

    Radio Lincolnshire local news
    #1 Grantham A&E
#2 “Local Tory MP says there should be a further cut in fuel duty”
then quite a long clip of him
It’s quite unusual for them to air a Tory voice.

#3 Rwanda ..3 passengers will challenge in court today

    #4 Same CCS PR
but the clip they played was different and more useful

#5 “The councils Network say they might not be able to fill potholes this winter .. inflation”
    same story, but with spin

#6 EU will sue the UK

#7 “St Sturgeon will do a speech today
saying Scotland is being held back by the UK”

  9. Tabs says:

Lizzo changes derogatory lyric after backlash

Yet another example of cancel culture being promoted by the BBC. Lizzo changed her lyrics because of a complaint when she used the word “spaz”. A woman with cerebral palsy complained on Twitter with a tweet with just 432 likes.

The BBC frame the whole article like Lizzo is a brilliant person for listening and learning.

Something the BBC don’t tell you is their hero black woman’s lyrics were originally “Hold my bag, bitch, hold my bag. Do you see this shit? I’m a spaz”.

So officially “bitch” and “shit” are still allowed but “spaz” is not. What a messed up world we live in.

  10. Guest Who says:

Rather sweet that tv bimbos (and wimmin) still think ‘we spoke to’ does not now offer all info needed on the calibre of their propaganda.

    • Fedup2 says:

Seems like crankie is going for another referendum on ‘independence ‘ . Scotland is being held back by the Evil English .
I just hope that the reality of independence – currency – borders – passports – work visas – no Barnett formula – is spelled out to the English haters . And that the British parliament stands up for the non Scots ….

… and on that note – since the Irish won’t build a border to control their single market to Northern Ireland – maybe that ‘common travel area ‘ can be looked at as they mouth off against Blighty on behalf of their masters in Brussels ….

Let’s get on with the trade war the EU is itching for – I think I know where most pain will be felt – and it won’t be Blighty …

      • taffman says:

For starters, they need to see the ‘Real World’ outside . What would they do if the Russians & Chinese started to ‘factory fish’ off their coast ?
Crankie by name and crankie by nature.

      • Mrs Kitty says:

I really think Sturgeon has dropped a clanger there, if only they allowed the English to vote she would have mine in a microsecond. I’m sick to death of her and Blackford , if Scotland won independence and it meant no more moaning from them there would be a tsunami of English voters rushing to the booths in my opinion.

        • Fedup2 says:

          Mrs kitty
That is the SNP strategy – to pee the English off – personally I favour their independence – the oil can go to Shetland and Norway – the Scots can be a fully independent country – part of the EU – with a big border wall -Charles the 3rd can be the last king of Scotland ….

Based – of course – on a 66 – 75% pro independence vote with England laying out the rules for afterward

Afghanistan women’s team: They escaped the Taliban but face uncertain football future

Here we have an example of the BBC ‘lie by repetition’.

They come up with an excuse to reference an old story then tell the whole thing again as if it just happened with yet another extra-large helping of empathy to draw you in. And in a very lengthy article considering it is just rehashing agenda-based old news.

Quite why the author (Muslim born in Iran) and the BBC thinks this Leftist political propaganda belongs in the ‘Sports’ section is beyond me. I suspect they are trying to ensare people who don’t bother on the main pages.

I wonder what life is like for the people still there living in fear under Taliban rule. The BBC clearly thinks these women are much more important.

No no no. Black people shoot other black people because white people are racist. Not because they are the base-level violent primitives the rapper lyrics suggest.

And you aren’t allowed to accuse black people of being racist because you can’t fight racism with more racism. The Guardian told me that.

bbc reports on Ukraine, Lysychansk ‘real hell’ as 70 evacuated – local governor

    yes 70 have been evacuated

Then I wondered of the population of Lysychansk its over 90,000 – why does the bbc keep reporting on just a few and maybe tomorrow another 5 have been evacuated. I guess the drip feed helps keep the story going and going

    • JohnC says:

I’m surprised they didn’t do an in-depth story about how one was in a wheelchair and was on her way to see her sick mother before she was evacuated.

The BBC really are that bad now. They have almost totally switched from ‘news’ to ’empathy’ – which has no place on a news site. They should put that stuff somewhere else.

All those that had jumped electrical meters.
All those that had interfered with escape routes and fire doors.

Grenfell, five years on. A great opportunity for Naga Munchetty on BBC Radio 5 Live to indulge in an orgy of shroud waving. Naga if you remember the one who openly made her own views on Trump clear on the unbiased BBC.

To be fair it wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for the greenwashing of the tower with cladding. The problem seems to be that all the involved decision making parties didn’t have an ounce of common sense between them. All those low IQ graduates with inferior degrees and no practical real world/life experience. On Radio 5 it was mentioned that the Council had chosen the cheapest cladding material, so what? They were never going to pay more.

You won’t want to miss BBC 6 Music’s “Deep Dive into Queer Country”.

Worth a look at the bio of the host, queer country expert Dr. Shana Goldin-Perschbacher, which I would bet ticked all the BBC boxes in addition to rubbing them up the right way:

“Motivated by musical articulations of social justice issues, her explorations of contemporary sonic, visual and social media take shape through critical, ethnographic, analytical, and historical methods. Her book Queer Country, published by the University of Illinois Press in 2022, examines transgender and queer performances of country and Americana music through explorations of sincerity, genre trouble, journey, rurality, misrepresentation, masking, and collaboration.”

Yesterday’s Cadwalladr ruling was confusing at best. While Mrs Justice Steyn ruled the TED Talk Carole Cadwalladr gave was defamatory, she said Banks had failed to prove that its publication caused “serious harm to reputation”. Part of this was based on a belief that Carole’s followers are mainly an #FBPE echo chamber, therefore unlikely to have had their minds changed by the defamatory Russia claim…

Russia-Ukraine war: Some of UK’s top journalists barred from Russia

“The BBC’s Clive Myrie, Orla Guerin and Nick Robinson, who have reported from Ukraine, and Director General Tim Davie are on the list of 29 media figures.
So too are journalists from Sky TV, The Times, Guardian, Channel Four and ITV.

The British journalists included on the list are involved in deliberate dissemination of false and one-sided information about Russia and events in Ukraine and Donbas,” Russia’s foreign ministry said. “With their biased assessments they also contribute to fuelling Russophobia in British society.”

Hahaha the more I hear from Russia, the more I like them!

“Rwanda asylum plan: PM defends scheme as legal challenges fail”
Thousands of illegal asylum seekers, fugitive criminals, murderers , and rapists, are all queue jumpers and are blocking genuine honest refuges that have waited patiently to get here. Successive weak British Governments have let them down and let us down by putting the people of Great Britain in danger.

    Dear, dear me.

I no longer post, due to not partaking of the output from the scum BBC. How many here are still paying a licence fee?

Anyhow, I occasionally dip in to see what the enemy are up to, but today has taken the biscuit in terms of comments, infighting and downright crap being posted.

I’m surprised the moderator doesn’t delete the vast majority of the utter shite posted with hardly anything devoted to the aims of the site.

    That is all.

No need to reply as I won’t be checking. Best wishes Fed, you need it.

Kyiv City Ballet gears up for York performance

“Dancers from a Ukrainian ballet company stranded outside the country fear they may never return home, the troupe’s director has said.
Kyiv City Ballet was in France when Russia invaded and has been unable to go back to the country since.
They are currently in York, where they are staying for free ahead of a one-off UK show at the city’s Theatre Royal.”

BBC as usual incapable of asking the obvious question: why can’t they go home?
Are they scared of being conscripted? If so state that, it’s supposed to be a news outlet.

“Hotels, businesses and travel companies worked together to feed, house and water the company for free.”

It’s a wonder there’s any hotel rooms left in Britain for normal guests..
