    6:40pm BBC local TV news
Item on the dropping of poets Philip Larkin and Owen from a particular English syllabus

They bring on two school girls
The Indian one says “It’s great we get to non-fiction this black female writer Adichie instead
    ( Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie)
I wonder if the pupil made a mistake
    Adichie does have 3 non-fiction works :
    – We Should All Be Feminists,
    – Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions
    – and her essay about the death of her father
However the set text for AQA GCSE is Purple Hibiscus, which many people mistake for her autobiography , but it is a fictional stylised account

    ==================

Later there was an item on the victims of botched vaginal mesh implants whose victim feel pain every day.

Hey come on – lighten up – who wants to do stuff by dead white guys … innit Omg lol …..

And Elswhere – sit back and watch the outrage of the Supreme Court Judgement seems to be not far from the leaked draft from a month ago – maybe it did a service by reducing the shock baby killers would experience by reverting the law back to States .

Over a dozen States have already banned abortion – and perhaps their reaction should be monitored to view effect – not those metro Godless States where there is little law …

.. as for Biden – I hope the Pope is watching this candidate for excommunication…..

Afzal was just extremely sexist there
He denied that women who are anti-abortion have agency
He said that the decision is entirely due to men.

The court did NOT ban abortion
it just said the old law was illegal cos it denied states the right to make their own decision on it.

Not every state denies people free health care
New York does provide it ..to 7.3 million poor people.

                BTW I am pro abortion

It is an emotive, complex issue and most certainly best handled sensitively by legislators and commentators experienced in nuance and communication.

Screeching dykes egged on by kindergarten politicians seeking coverage from heat over light activist media… not so much.

The route to anarchy is already established here.

And I am about at the limit of being vexed online about it.

Whatever these cretinous gated community establishment tools think they would rub in the noses of the majority would serve lord knows, but they will only manage to be consumed by it all last.

    Thursday The Times :
BBC coverage is biased, say 39% of viewers
The figure was 15 per cent for ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
.. (Of course the question they ask was probably carefully tailored to get such a low number as 39% )

One interesting thing is the Times top comments

1 “This comment violated our policy.”
1.1 “This comment violated our policy.”

2 ” Last night at least two of the regional news programmes covering the RMT industrial action only covered the union argument. ”

3 We know the BBC is left-wing. A number of high profile employees in recent years that have retired have said so. None of them said it was right-wing

Good God. How desperate do you have to be to use that as the headline ?.

And in the main article ‘Johnson admits by-election losses ‘not brilliant’ they have the headline ‘.. but ex-leader Michael Howard calls for him to quit’ and what do you know, they opened a HYS on it. The comments are as bitter and spiteful as what you would expect from Leftists students.

The ‘impartial’ BBC are absolutely out of control and screaming like spiteful children. This witch-hunt to depose a PM is absolutely appalling and it’s outrageous that the BBC are being allowed to do it without OFCOM or anyone intervening.

This is exactly why the BBC are no longer fit for purpose.

Ukraine orders troops to leave key eastern city.
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61920708

Amazing understatement in an obvious attempt to downplay the significance of what has happened.

They are about to be cut off and annihilated. They have to escape through a corridor with Russian control North and South. I dread to think how many are going to die in the attempt.

    In the article we have:

‘Russia’s president falsely claims that Russian-speakers in the Donbas have been victims of genocide’

In turn, Ukraine accuses Moscow of committing genocide against the Ukrainian people with its indiscriminate bombing and shelling.

Well, there is no way Russia are trying to kill all Ukranians so why isn’t the second one described as ‘falsely’ as well ?. That term is clearly reserved by the BBC for those not in line with the agenda.

    And we have:

“They [Ukrainian forces] have received orders to retreat to new positions… and continue their operations from there.”.

So just a small setback then.

I continue to be amazed at the difference between the BBC reports on the war and the independent commentators on youtube. It’s pure propaganda.

Time to get down to some serious politics as the BBC online press review drops the Glastonbury-loving Guardian – holder of yesterday’s top spot – and instead promotes the Labour-supporting Mirror to poll position.

Boris gets battered – is the header and: GO NOW – is the screaming headline demand from the paper purporting on its red top to be: The heart of Britain

Beware these media masthead slogans – they are about as reliable as an impromptu telephone call from the Ukrainian president: Rowling falls victim to “Zelensky” prank call (Telegraph)

The phone has become the Ukrainian president’s most effective weapon (Guardian 28 Feb 2022)

Ukraine scandal, U.S. political scandal that arose in the summer of 2019 from an attempt by Pres. Donald J. Trump to coerce the president of Ukraine into announcing an investigation of Trump’s political rival Joe Biden and Biden’s son Hunter for alleged wrongdoing in connection with a Ukrainian energy company (Britannica on line)

Zelensky holds phone call with Joe Biden, pushes for more US support to Ukraine… Weapons, ammunition, and funds have poured into Ukraine from Western allies, which have also imposed sweeping sanctions on Moscow. (WION – surprise guest appearance hereabouts for the English language Indian news source)

Ukrainian Leader Makes Confusing Joke About Russian Invasion… In a relatable moment for anyone who has struggled with tone, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, a former professional comedian, had to clarify that he was kidding when he claimed a Russian invasion was coming on February 16 (Intelligencer 14 Feb 2022)

Volodymyr Zelensky Is Not a Comedian—and That’s No Joke… Way before this terrible war, I used to groan when people referred to the president of Ukraine as a “comedian turned politician.”… Volodymyr Zelensky, who both writes and acts, is the most appealing “little guy” since Charlie Chaplin. (The Nation 16 March 2022)

    Remember folks, it’s not a conspiracy theory – if it’s true… but I digress…

Masthead slogans – about as trustworthy and incongruous as the motto on a borstal boy’s blazer badge…

Journalism you can trust – insists the left-leaning ‘i’ newspaper – which outright fibs in their screamer headline today: Abortion banned in the US

Here’s one for the teenagers – Call My Bluff was a grown up version of TV panel show (pre TV we used to term them parlour games) Would I Lie To You – I know, it’s like comparing chess with ludo but the aim of the original game, memorably hosted by the balding bespectacled alliterative Robert Robinson and guests of the likes of prominent panellist and Cadburys Fruit and Nut endorsing Frank Muir, was for teams to determin the correct definition of obscure words from three definitions, one true and two audacious bluffs.

    Try this one…

Daily Mail: Daily Newspaper of the Year
The Guardian: News Provider of the Year
FT Weekend: National Newspaper of the Year

Or in the style of Call My Bluff...

The Daily Mail where today’s headline reads: Javid: Tell public the truth about anti-Tory pact – is an archaic phrase primarily referring to the day-to-day reliable delivery of letters by post – often several times a day from a time when the postman spoke intelligable english wore long trousers and didn’t insist on snapping a picture of your parcel and your open front door with his mobile phone.

Guardian – where today the headline is a less concise version of the Mirror’s – to wit: Tory grandees tell Johnson after historic defeat: just go – spellings vary but Guardian is a formerly useful word for all that is good and righteous. It’s what people refer to as a virtue signal. Take for example today’s FT Weekend feature: “Vice-signalling” (I know, it’s what I do all the time) and think the exact opposite. The jokey FT provides a prime example of what they consider bad and naughty with a cheeky cartoon airliner bound for Rwanda with the line: Darker side of political stunts. You see political stunts should be good well-meaning and virtuous – hence Green politics.

FT is what we used to know as an abbreviation. cf WHO WFH WTF WEF. Today the headline in the pink paper qualifies somewhat the exaggeration of the excitable ‘i’ paper: Top US court scraps Roe v Wade in heavy blow to abortion rights. What does FT really mean? It’s a sort of shorthand for an elitist liberal corporate globalist supranationalist world government tendency.

Can you guess which of the three above is correct and which two are bluffs? Bonus points for guessing correctly whether that incoming telephone call from a little bloke calling himself Zelensky (spellings vary) is for real.

    In other news…

Pompeii: Ancient pregnant tortoise surprises archaeologists (BBC) – surely abortion was an ancient – written in stone – self-evident constitutional human right the tortoise could have availed herself of?

Roe v Wade: Abortion clinics start to close after Supreme Court ruling – frets the BBC.

Outside the clinic, volunteer escort Linda Kocher told the BBC… “poor women will end up in a back alley” – that’s more than likely how they got themselves in their present predicament, luv.

And there I go “vice signalling”

TOADY Watch #1 – a life-long Conservative demonstrates that he is not the sharpest twig on the tree

Bob O’Neill is the latest useful ‘person’ to be afforded the opportunity by the BBC to attack the Prime Minister. We are returned to the BBC Time Machine and are back in the 1980s. Margaret Thatcher was stupid and impatient. Boris Johnson has been exactly the same, stupid to get suckered into ‘Partygate’ and, prior to that, impatient to get Brexit done and not looking at the detail. Just when Bojo’s head was in Greco-Roman times it should have been in more recent times.

Prof. John Curtice of the Psephologist Party has already advised that a Conservative Party leadership contest would not be looked upon kindly by the voters of the whole UK.

Bob O’Neill MP is not listening.

It was raised to 13 in that year by the Offences Against the Person Act, then to 16 by the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1885. However, in the afore-mentioned and many other towns they are now back in the 19th Century, primarily for the benefit of men inspired by the 7th Century.

TOADY Watch #2 – in which Harshmistress Mishal talks over the PM a lot

First rule of radio for Presenters: Do not talk over an interviewee. Radio is not like television, Mishal. Harshmistress Mishal had obviously not done her research on the PM or she was working to a different agenda. With Boris Johnson, you listen to a lot of ‘Just A Minute’; plenty of hesitation, quite a bit of repetition and sometimes (especially from Bojo) some deviation.

What did we learn from the interview. The Prime Minister is going to be going on to be going on to be going on with being Boris Johnson. Strategy? Thoughtful planning of Party policy? Hah! [Lancashire accent] “No chance!”

Instead there is a real danger that the PM will, in order to ‘be seen to be doing something’, make a rash promise to Ukraine and its Prime Minister as Ukraine loses its battle against Putin’s Russian forces.

Mishal Husain at her whiny worst as she interviewed Boris….she stated as fact that Boris ‘misled Parliament’ and then made some juvenile ‘gotcha’ as Boris pointed out that the US and Denmark are also shipping illegal migrants out of country…Husain sneered that ‘Britain is now leading the world in deportations then?’.

An extremely negative hatchet job that made endless accusations of Boris being unethical, immoral or having a flawed character and thus being unfit for Office having no policies and a lack of leadership…in their view….no attempt to balance that with any of his merits and points of good character…or indeed the massive successes the government has had….but then this has been the BBC narrative ever since he went into politics and has ramped up considerably since 2016 for some reason.

The BBC tells us the anti-Boris ‘rebels’ went too early and should have waited for the by-election results…but you could argue that they went when they did precisely to effect the outcome of those by-elections by making sure the news was full of negative stories about how bad Boris was and how even his own Party hated him….the BBC naturally obliged them by doing just that.

You might also have noticed how the BBC suddenly ramped up attacks on Tory policies just before the elections…every policy was torn to shreds and dismissed as dreadful and unworkable….a constant and loud drumbeat slagging off the government.

The BBC’s constant attacks on Boris left their mark….two by-elections almost certainly ‘rigged’ to a degree by a corrupt media…not to mention a few backstabbers working in concert with the anti-Boris media….helped of course by election pacts between Labour and the Liberals.

Democracy anyone? It’d be nice as Trump might say.

Normally such attempts are met with cries of ‘This is a sinister threat to democracy and undermines trust in institutions as politicians rig the system to suit themselves’.’

Not today…the BBC is all in favour of Boris being made to have a second no confidence vote. The sooner the better….and if the rules have to be rigged to do it…OK!

Hmmmm…how soon they forget their ‘principles’…

‘Owen Paterson: Tories may regret rule change move

Getting rid of Red Boris would make the Tories more electable not less and it could be argued that this is a bias in favour of the Tories not against them.

There is of course no doubt at all where the BBC stands on abortion…it’s enthusiastically for it…and shapes its broadcasts and news output to push that agenda.

You could see that this morning on Today as someone against abortion was questioned hard and made to defend her position as Rajan demanded to know why a 6 week old foetus was worth saving…clearly not sentient or capable of feeling so you can kill it…just where does that line end? A baby can’t talk, walk or understand the world around it….so can you kill it just because it is not a fully formed, ‘sentient’, human? According to Rajan and the BBC that would be just fine following their logic.

The pro-abortion advocate had a very easy ride and wasn’t asked to defend her position at all…purely asked what she thought of the court decision and allowed to emote at length.

The BBC news told us that the Supreme Court was essentially corrupt…it should have been, the BBC said, a legal decision but here it was ‘political’…an ideological ruling made by conservative judges…it is devisive and leads to a loss of faith in institutions.

Hmmm…the original decision, Roe v Wade, was made by the Supreme Court as well….is that therefore not legitimate…was it also political? Apparently not…the BBC doesn’t go there….it might undermine their own narrative and trust in the BBC.

We are also told that there is a ‘rising threat of extremist attacks’ but the BBC fails to mention from whom….I wonder…

‘Pro-Abortion Protesters: ‘Every City, Every Town, Burn the Precinct to the Ground’’

The same BBC that has been entirely relaxed about the threats and indeed attempt to kill judges on the Supreme Court by pro-abortion extremists.

It reports this with no condemnation or comment…

‘Ms Coons said she would keep fighting, and protest outside the homes of the justices of the “illegitimate corrupt Supreme Court” because “we are taking baby steps into fascism”.’

Odd how the BBC just isn’t interested in very real threats, actual violence and attempts to kill…not to mention massive riots intended to overturn democracy and indeed the very idea of ‘America’ itself and the Democrat’s collusion with the Russians in order to unseat a US President…I mean, talk about a ‘threat to democracy’ and ‘undermining trust in institutions’.

The BBC however is massively interested in the January 6 events where a crowd of protestors were almost invited into the Capitol Building…one might suspect on purpose in order to manufacture the Democrat’s narrative about an attempted ‘insurrection’….allowing them to usher in an oppressive raft of laws to crush the Republicans and like-minded people.

    Democracy anyone? It’d be nice.

I read roe v Wade a long time ago as part of my studies. But I read the leaked ‘draft’ which apparently accords with the final publication yesterday .

The judgement does not discuss the merits or otherwise of abortion . It just debates whether the legality should lie with the State or Federal Government – and comes down on the side of local democracy .
I reckon 2 thirds of States will keep abortion as legal on the books … others have already banned it . Strange how local democracy is only favoured in approved circumstances ….

Got to say though – those Justices of the Supreme Court were brave in their decision because they know how violent The Left is… and how unprotected the White House will leave them ….

The BBC used to love Russell Brand, even interviewing him on Newsnight to get his insights into the politics of the day…the BBC trying to crack the yoof market for news…lol.

Not anymore…since he has been investigating issues surrounding covid and opening a few eyes with real facts the BBC has decided he is a dangerous conspiracy theorist spreading alarmist misinformation and fake news.

The odds were, and most facts pointed to, a Chinese lab being the source of covid, similarly that lockdowns don’t work and have massive downsides that outweigh minimal benefits, and that vaccines also may have dangers as well as benefits….and how they laughed at people who suggested the vaccines were being used to track us and control us.

The BBC tried to shut down all such debate and indeed engaged in a campaign of vilification, mockery and abuse for anyone who dared to raise a dissenting voice.

The BBC always downplays any dangers vaccines might have….and dismisses any deaths due to the vaccines as highly unusual and unlikely….the person who died having a very rare condition and the possibility of the vaccine having a negative effect is vanishingly small.

However the number of deaths and people who have developed complications after being vaccinated is not negligible and thus people’s concerns about the vaccines were legitimate and should have been recognised as such…but the BBC dismissed them as conspiracy nuts who were dangeorusly undermining the vaccine programme.

    Recently in the news…

‘A woman whose partner died after having an AstraZeneca jab has become the first person to receive compensation over a Covid vaccine death. ‘

‘A graduate died from a rare complication of the AstraZeneca vaccine after being given out-of-date advice, an inquest has heard.’

    Always rare and unusual.

As for tracking and controlling us….well yeah…not by some atom-sized chip inside the vaccine but by the apps and passports that governments did or want to introduce…Brand’s report on China should raise many concerns as such measures can, and indeed have been to some extent, introduced elsewhere in so-called democracies…..the government wants to stop you travelling and ‘protesting’ say….then just put a red mark in your covid passport and you’re suddenly ‘locked down’…ansd if you don’t obey you really will be locked down in a government cell….not just China of course…Australia was pretty free with the repressive laws as were many other countries.

Curious how the BBC showed great concern about the US intelligence services tracking you ansd your electronic messaging but shows absolutely no concern when the same is done but labelled as ‘for the purpose of controlling covid’ when it’s actually about controlling you and me.

Still no mention that he was a Muslim by the BBC even though they know it. They will delay it hoping people think it might be by a far-Right loony. All part of their subtle long-term strategy. Drip drip drip.

The giveaway is how they concentrate on the events after the shots and the victims while avoiding the topic of the gunman completely.

If he had been far-Right, we would get at least 4 more articles on this by tomorrow and it would continue all week. This one will be dropped within 48 hours. Cut through the fake, virtue-signalling empathy and you see what nasty, callous ideologically driven scum these Leftists really are. Just as they have been throughout modern history with the millions who have died in the name of their ‘Better world’.

      2017 … old post …

Watched the BBC News the other night and wondered why “Roy Larner” was not mentioned when news about the London attacks was on?

So did this just now ….
Search for “Roy Larner” on bbc.co.uk and get a single (1) result with a heading:
“London attack: Romanian baker and Spanish banker among heroes” [08.06.2017]
Goto page and get content with “A Millwall supporter and in my mind a proper hero and deserves our support and aid to help him on his recovery.”

Search “Roy Larner” on google and get results from (note that something is missing? bbc!)
PAGE 1: independent, thesun, theguardian, themetro, ok.co.uk, mirror, dailymail
      PAGE 2: dailystar, huffingtonpost, justgiving, youtube, au.news.yahoo.com, thisainthell.us, entertainmentdaily, si.com, twitter.com
      PAGE 3: change.org, facebook.com, imdb.com (N/A), 192.com (N/A), telegraph.com, ladbible.com,breitbart.com .. gave up looking

First Entry in Google Search for “Roy Larner” is Independent.co.uk [08.06.2017]
“I got stabbed and sliced eight times. They got me in my head, chest and both hands. There was blood everywhere.
“They were saying, ‘Islam, Islam!’. I said again, ‘F*** you, I’m Millwall!’

OK, now let’s try “Geoff Ho london attack” – and we find a bbc item on Page 3 / Fourth item down.

      BBC: “Islam” text x 0
      Independent: “Islam” text x 4
      Mirror: “Islam” text x 0
The Sun: “Islam” text x 0

Maybe I should start to record these, ready for the BBC, to say that for every piece of inadequate reporting that I supply with proof, they can give me ÂŁ1 back from the TV license.

      Hope that helps!

On yesterday’s post-Roe edition of our Clubland Q&A, I was trying to remember the first Roe vs Wade “anniversary” piece I wrote. Upon reflection, I think this is the first, for The National Post twenty years ago. Aside from anything else, it is an early example of a point I have made frequently in the ensuing two decades and did so again yesterday. The one thing a dying west needs more than anything is babies. Abortion is therefore symbolic of a loss of faith in our own future, although it’s no longer mere symbolism and has been joined by many other such, from male infertility from Covid vaccines to the shortage of baby formula, and on and on:

Last week was the thirtieth anniversary of Roe v. Wade. If the greying harpies of the abortion movement were looking to get their groove back on anniversary fever, it didn’t work out that way. As has been noted, polls show more and more Americans are opposed to more and more abortions. This isn’t the way it’s supposed to go. The assumption behind judicial activism is that the guys in the fancy robes are ahead of the curve: Being more educated, intelligent and sophisticated than the unwashed masses, our judges reach today the positions that the grunting, knuckle-dragging public won’t come round to for another decade or so. But eventually we will, and we’ll wonder what all the fuss was about.

Why? Because the state needs a birth rate of 2.1 children to maintain a stable population. In Italy, it’s now 1.2. Twenty years ago, a million babies were born there each year. Now it’s half a million. And the fewer babies you have today, the fewer babies are around to have babies in twenty years. Once you’re as far down the death spiral as Italy is, it’s hard to reverse. Most European races are going to be out of business in a couple more generations.

Was there ever a programme so ironically and implausibly named as ‘Unspun World’?

A BBC journalist talking to other BBC journalists intepreting the world through their own eyes and deciding for us what is best for that world.

    All very cosy….and just a bit 1984.

We have Fergus Walsh telling us that what we need is a centralised world system to watch over us to control pandemics….by ruling, and over-ruling national governments, our reactions and behaviour when a ‘threat’ appears.

It is a price worth paying and the cost will be far less than if a pandemic struck….and so many ‘respected voices’ [er…billionaire tech oligarchs and somewhat sinister politicians insisting ‘You will own nothing’! and you will enjoy it] are out there calling for it….so we should do this …it would be, he said, a crying shame if it didn’t happen.

    Journalism or advocacy and lobbying?

And Brexit? Who to ask? Yeah…why not…Mark Easton…the BBC’s very own pro-EU, pro-Mass immigration lobbyist.

Naturally Brexit was won on a ‘very narrow margin’ and was very divisive and polarising [Only because the Remainers wouldn’t accept the result and this was legitimised by the BBC] Easton suggests this distracted government and meant it couldn’t get on with business as normal. Hmmmm…whose fault is that? Could it be that the Remainers and their media cheerleaders caused that which meant that instead of dealing with the economy, poverty, the NHS, education and of course covid, the government had to deal with firefighting the scorched earth attacks from Remainers and Co?

In other words the BBC was front and central in undermining good governance of this country…just as it was in America as it and the Democrats ensured America spent 4 years in divisive and polarising battles to unseat Trump rather than getting on with helping to run the country or at least allowing the government to do so.

Apparently ‘the people’ are no closer to control after Brexit and so Brexit has failed, not only that but it has undermined the Union…hmmmm….er…independence vote in 2014? Isn’t that before 2016? Never mind toxic Devolution brought in by Blair.

Will we have another vote? Well, maybe not…however it could be achieved by stealth, by other means as people realise what a big mistake Brexit was and how our economy is breaking due to Brexit and thus we will probably rejoining the single market and thus, in effect, the EU…..we have after all, says Easton, cut off our nose to spite our face by voting, by a narrow margin, lol, for Brexit.

Great when a programme that purports to give us the truth and that supposedly subverts and torpedos fake news and disinformation is itself the biggest source of disinformation and fraudulent flimflam.

    The BBC…Ministry of Truth….not.

Reporter Alex Seabrook was banned after his questions were called ‘illegitimate’
Mayor Rees travelled 9,000 miles by plane to Canada to give 14-minute TED talk
Bristol Council have now banned Local Democracy Reporters from meetings
However the press have condemned this move and boycotted Bristol council
ITV has joined the BBC in boycotting Bristol Council’s mayoral briefings after the council banned a local reporter for asking the Labour politician if he saw the irony in flying to Canada to give a short speech on climate change.

Local Democracy Reporter (LDR) Alex Seabrook, whose who works for the BBC and the Bristol Live website, asked Mayor Rees whether he could instead have done the 14-minute TED talk via Zoom.

In a clip which has now gone viral, Mr Seabrook was interrupted by a press officer who questioned whether he should be allowed to ask this question.

In the cringeworthy virtual press conference, Saskia Konynenburg, head of communications at Bristol City Council, said that she did not think the reporter’s question on the mayor’s 9,200-mile round trip in April to give a climate talk was ‘legitimate’.

Interrupting the local reporter she said: ‘My question is Marvin was fully-funded by TED to attend so I couldn’t quite understand what the role as an LDR would be in asking that question. I think it is probably for a journalist from a newspaper but I can’t quite see the link to LDR.’

Ms Konynenburg markets herself as an ‘influential communications leader, focused strategist and innovative content creator’ and was a reporter for three months in her career largely working for the public sector and charities, according to LinkedIn.

When Mr Seabrook said his job was to hold the mayor to account, she replied: ‘I think it probably is from a journalist from a newspaper, but I can’t quite see the link to LDR, but I’ll leave it there.’

The Local Democracy Reporting Service is a news agency funded by the BBC, with reporters working on regional titles across the UK covering local authorities and other public-service bodies.
