I could be wrong, but something is not going to plan. I tend to check the “war in Ukraine” page on the bbc to get an idea of what’s occurring. Then on to the sky.au pages on youtube to see if a certain gibbering idiot has started a world war yet.
More and more, the “war in Ukraine” page is filled with stories of gas shortages, grain shipments, turbines stuck in Germany, etc. etc.
Kind of relevant, I’m sure, but hardly to pressing issues from the region. Either both sides are on their holidays, or a lot is happening which is simply not being reported, and the page is being filled with fluffy propaganda.

Our insane obsession with the climate is now leading to some real problems. It seems to be almost everywhere (other than China and India) and we’re all going to be affected…

Germany is now facing major problems with keeping the country going through an energy crisis, made so much worse by Merkel’s insane adoption of wind turbines and reliance on Russia. I mean, that Putin’s a lovely bloke, what could possibly go wrong?

We’ve all seen the worrying images from Sri Lanka, where they (stupidly) took up organic farming and banned fertiliser. All in the cause of the “climate crisis”. Now they’re going hungry and the poorest could starve.

In Holland the appallingly authoritarian government are forcing farmers to reduce dairy output by 33%. This is being done to “save the planet.” Isn’t everything these days?

And in Blighty we’ve had boneheaded Boris babbling about “net zero” and other such childish waffle. Recently we’ve seen how hopeless solar panels and wind farms have been. Wind turbines haven’t been working because there’s been no wind (although one of these monstrosities caught fire) and some of the solar farms packed up because it got too hot. FFS!

We’re surrounded by water and yet we’re facing a hosepipe ban.
We have masses of oil in the sea, coal and shale gas under our feet and yet we’re reliant on others to supply our energy.

China are building even more coal power stations and between them and India they have nearly three quarters of all coal power plants on the planet.

Meanwhile the Dutch and British worry about farting cows and we’re all being primed to start dining on insects..

You know in decades time when someone says “Grubs up”…

Frankly I’m trying not to notice the sheer incompetence of the governing class – failure to plan for power – water – food – border – security –
But spending huge resources on diversity – green – genda – which are just vacuous ….
The decline seems continuous and inevitable ….we’re all doomed – doomed …

I’ve been a listener to ‘clue ‘ on R4 for as long as I remember ( yesterday ?) … anyway as it declines it’s Sunday lunchtime slot it is followed by the ‘food programme ‘.

Sometimes I hesitate with the off switch and catch some content ….. it is truly consistently depressing …. This time something about obesity and type 2 diabetes and the wrong sort of processed food .

Lord god – just don’t eat so much – get some self regard – some self disciple – if you can’t – or are too lazy to do some physical activity .
Fortunately though the narrative is that large numbers of people are going to starve or freeze or both because of increasing prices . So the obesity crisis will be solved- right ?

And since no one can afford to turn on the gas the green crap will benefit – right ?

Rant – now something to eat …

Apologies to those on here who are under 60, but you’ve got a grim few decades ahead of you, and its got nothing to do with the economic climate or climate change, but everything to do with half of Europe /Asia/Africa coming over here for free.

Me and my generation realistically are queuing up in God’s Waiting Room – some are ahead of the queue and others are gently sliding there, but we are escaping the life that will be the norm for the rest of you. All the tens of thousands of migrants who are arriving here will be multiplying by birth, and unless there are a string of warships around the waters of the UK then the thousands still arriving won’t be stopped. Albanian Mafia will be in control of the streets – they are already the largest supplier of cocaine in this country, black crime will be rampant, and Islam will continue to rise – again through birth rates- so more hijabs will be seen in rural areas as the communities are pushed out of urban areas by gangs that are other than the old UK nationals.

    Good luck.

Exactly so Brissels. We tried to convince the liberal fools that mass migration, multiculturalism was a really bad idea which could prove existentialist for future generation but , even when confronted with overwhelming evidence that it was so, they just carried on and punished those who voiced such opinions.
If the next few years are as dire as many pundits predict economically I wonder how our multiculty society will fare? We will all pull together as the cohesive British societies of the past did , or will we fracture along ethnic lines with all the problems that that entails?
Mind you I don’t suppose that even a civil war will convince the bone headed liberal that they were wrong in their promotion of mass migration.

TWotWeeeee Watch #1 – week 11 of the BBC’s campaign to get UK back in the EU is more subtle

Editor/Producer to Naughtie: “We don’t mention EU or the benefits anymore, Jim, is that OK? Just have an item on Serbia and Kosovo and remember, it is pronounced Kosovah, not Kosovooe.”

Naughtie to Editor/Producer: “I was going there before you were born, probably, so I will pronounce it incorrectly if I choose.” And mispronounce it, Jim did, in abundance. And he mentioned Cathy Ashton a lot, the Labour Party EU Commissioner who managed to bring conflict to Ukraine and Russia rather than peace.

Strikes me that is all the EU is good for, bringing conflict. Now what did Jesus say in Matthew chapter 5 verse 9? “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”

… such stories are gonna grow and grow ….

Brown doesn’t do ‘personal responsibility ‘ – instead he is giving permission for people not to pay their bills and have someone else pick up the tab ….

In a way it opens a bigger issue – what should be the standard of living that someone on benefits should get ? Should they be able to get cars or holidays ? – particularly when they are wholely dependent on welfare and have never made contributions ……

But I get what you’re saying, especially blackberry picking – but if young parents can’t cook to begin with then they certainly wouldn’t be out getting ingredients for free.

What are gaining in popularity are the ‘walking markets’. On a given day people have stuff for sale at the front of their house, and customers armed with a list of streets then walk around to the various properties.

“One rarely sees poor people picking them.” Rarely?! Never, more like. Those I know who do are all tiresomely middle class, pale and stale, I’m afraid.

There’s plenty of cheap food to be had for very little effort, for those prepared to grow their own too.

As for carboot sales, I really don’t have the time, sadly, but was brought up wearing jumble sale ‘bargains’ (might explain a lot), whilst my mum repaired, darned and knitted everytime she sat down.

It always makes me laugh when old school friends talk about my family being ‘posh’ and living in the ‘big house’ – they have no idea the corners that were pinched to make one college lecturer’s salary pay the bills – we may have had central heating, but it was only put on on really, really cold nights, we normally wore three (jumble sale) jumpers and a hat indoors from November to March.

too many plods are busking it – if they can’t be trusted to get it right these days – they should have to pass a regular legal test to keep the warrant – like pilots have to do currency on aircraft types.

Wiltshire have now put aggressive civilian middle aged harpies on their station counters in police uniform minus the shoulder numbers – and they are categorically busking it with some added GDPR laced arrogance. The 101 telephone operators are also now GDPR obsessed.

The output from woke education and it’s largely and quite obviously nutcase teachers is creating a wave of stupid brainwashed zombies into all professions including the police who have no real perception of humanity and so the police as an institution start to get infected by this utter garbage.

I have always considered myself as even-handed over gender issues but it’s hard to overlook that much of this crap is coming from the female quotient of the educators.

Just reflect on the vitriolic actions and language of a lot of ladies who get into parliament, usually a sort of pale imitation of a sort of faux Joan of Arc’s of the left. No policies, just outrage and vengeance.

Not content with Bojo’s resignation and the fact there is now no PM and Cabinet until the Conservative leadership race is settled, the BBC are complaining about the lack of Government. The BBC helped engineer Boris Johnson’s resignation. Now they complain that he is on holiday and there is a vacuum in Government. The BBC helped engineer ‘the-cost-of-living-crisis’ and now they are worried – ho-ho, guaranteed income, uniquely funded Corporation, with guaranteed salaries for staff albeit ones paying more National Insurance than they did last year – on behalf of the poor in the UK. That’s a laugh!

BBC’s Labour supporter and voter James Naughtie (Party member, too?) has a cosy slittle chat with failed Chancellor and failed Prime Minister, Gordon ‘We’ve abolished boom and bust’ Brown. Needless to say, Gordon Brown wants Benefits to rise at inflationary rates, notwithstanding the 50% fall in the purchasing value of the £ sterling while he was Chancellor and PM.

Belfield case : a new anti-Belfield video points people to a Belfield video from April 2020.. saying it was the start of Belfield’s stalking
However when I watched it https://youtu.be/TgOzRKByBhk
my take is completely the other way around
Yes he is very aggressive and nasty to Ben and Bernie
but he says that for 6 months he has been trying to get to the truth about a defamatory post made “to destroy my career”
Bernie was the guy who wrote the defamation email anonymously and Ben Hewis was the guy who published it.
AB said he was pretty sure that was the case but he wanted them to admit or deny it (Eventually in court they did admit it)
(BTW I previously made a mistake as I mixed up Hewis with the private detective friend of Jeremy Vine)

Belfield says he’s been bullied and he’d sent multiple letters to clear his name
Yet then Bernie had sent the police to shut him up.
    More bullying
One thing Belfield did say was that since Bernie and Ben wouldn’t admit it he’d get his supporters to email.

So seems to me that Belfield was being bullied
yet his measures to fight back have now been counted as him bullying/stalking.

They were the invaders! “Over that wall the foreigners…”
They were the folk who lived here – the Romans were the foreigners! Bizarre!

The “diverse” Romans weren’t all bad. They would crucify a person of any race, colour or creed.

    8:43pm Now it’s #ClimateChange time on #Countryfile.
The weekly ‘narrative’ tick box completed! For God’s sake when do we defund #BBCBias @NadineDorries ?

@Taff they take granny’s money and use it to make propaganda to push their OWN POLITICAL agendas.
In a just world this money should be paid back by extracting it from their pensions.

        Matt’s script
“the wall was designed to stop invasion,
to the Romans everyone who wasn’t a Roman was a barbarian, so anything over there was barbarian land
ironically a wall that was designed and to keep the Romans and the foreigners apart ended up doing exactly the opposite
it created a multicultural community of people from all across the empire”

        …meaningless nonsense

        “A third century African village”
.. That’s misleading cos people think that means actual black people, and it doesn’t.

Daft question really, but exactly how much diversity is there in the Cumbrian fire service? How much diversity in Cumbria, for that matter?

      • Wild Bill says:

FFS! Why does the fire service need a diversity etc manager?
Why do people have to campaign to get anyone to enjoy the outdoors etc.?
It astonishes me how much money this country wastes on all of this crap.
I enjoy outdoor pursuits, maybe because my parents did, and so do my adult kids, no one had to campaign for us to do it!

      The Climate Change bit
“Here’ a buried Roman fort called Magna .. do you know the peat bog here is drying up ?”
.. So hang on the Roman’s didn’t build on a peat bog
The peat bog came later that’s why Roman artefacts are discovered in it.

I just checked Hadrian’s wall recent rainfall .. a lot of days with rain .. It’s not the dry southeast of England

BBC Charlotte “Climate change here could have a real impact on our past !”

(Magnis or Magna or Magnae Carvetiorum was a Roman fort on Hadrian’s Wall in northern Britain. Its ruins are now known as Carvoran Roman Fort and are located near Carvoran )

One of the things that annoys me the most about BOTH the ‘climate change’ agenda AND the ‘black lives’ agenda, is the sheer infantilism of them both (thanks for the term Swelter).

How often do you hear, or see something associated with one (or both) of these, and then think “WTF?”. We’re bombarded with so much of this utter bilge I know it often doesn’t ‘settle’ with me for a day, or two, and then suddenly it hits me just how utterly ridiculous and puerile whatever they were saying was!

The Romans were incredible engineers (far more capable than most who claim the title today) and I’m 100% certain they didn’t built in peat bogs… which means either: 1. there was no peat bog there nearly 2000 years ago, or 2. they drained it first. Given we know the world of the Roman era was considerably warmer than today*, I would go with 1. Also, 2. would have been a huge amount of effort and labour for little gain, so highly unlikely.

*Look at the villas they lived in here in the UK, I know they had ingenious hypocaust systems, but they still would have been unbearable during the modern British winter, look at the clothes they wore, and they grew grapes far into the north of Britain.

PS Did the Romans import black people from sub-Saharan Africa? Like, slaves for example?

“for the celebration of the walls 1900th year English Heritage has hired an artist Morag to design a replica of a Roman gatehouse,
it’s taken a team of 150 people 6 months to design it, and 4 weeks to build it”
FFS .. that’s throwing loads of money away

“English Heritage is seeking to draw new crowds to Hadrian’s Wall for its 1,900th birthday by commissioning the artist Morag Myerscough to rebuild the north gate of Housesteads Roman Fort near Hexham, Northumberland”

Vast majority of tweets were against it

As the credits rolled they were playing a trailer for the three part series “Big Oil vs The World ” a series which propagates a myth that big oil is against mad global warming policies
FFS they love them ..cos they raise oil prices

Stew, what predators used to kill Foxes and Badgers, was there really one, dont know if Wolves did?
There is talk of reintroducing Wolves, that will make wild camping,(one of my pastimes) more interesting.
By the way, the automobile kills a lot of Foxes and Badgers where I live.

Mange kills a lot of foxes (dogs and cats too), and TB a lot of badgers (cattle too), if foxes and badgers were less overcrowded they would be healthier (same could be said of us humans too).

Wolves, bears, lynxes… wouldn’t need to predate the foxes and badgers themselves, just outcompete them for food, bit like foxes and badgers do with hedgehogs.
