The sentence just handed down to Alex Belfield is unspeakably harsh; Five and a half bloody years…

Whether you like the bloke or not (I’m not overly keen, he’s rather too crude for my liking) the “time” is supposed to fit the “crime”. What, in the name of God can he have done to warrant such a sentence? Questioning the wisdom of the lockdown and being rude about Jeremy Vine shouldn’t mean you’re in peril of a prison sentence.
If it does, then I’m in trouble…

We have convicted child rapists wandering our northern towns, let out after a couple of years. Of course, due to the inadequacy and downright corruption of the local constabulary, usually they don’t need to go anywhere near a court.

Perhaps we should no longer be surprised at what’s happening in our country. Julian Assange is still in Belmarsh, I think he’s been there for over three years (without trial!) kept in solitary, surrounded by Muzzie terrorists…and our gutless government is about to deport him to the US.

When I was a lad I used to look at countries like Russia, East Germany and Cuba, shake my head in disbelief and thank my lucky stars I was living in a freedom loving country like Blighty.

    Not any more…

Was on Twitter and it seems James O’Brien and Femi are in a spot of bother.

      No doubt easily dealt with.

Meanwhile the bbc reputation continues to soar.

Can anyone please explain in a paragraph how it all started. I’m aware Belfield has been raided by police numerous times and he wanted his day in court but why did he target those 6 BBC workers in the first place?

He should have a statue on the fourth plinth just for being rude about Jeremy Vine.

Gary will first need to weed out every BBC ‘local democracy’ editor and reporter, given the unmitigated irrelevant tripe our shire titles now shove out.

    Shame fewer here do.

That ‘reporter’ was pure BBC playbook.

NYSE a bloodbath, Bitcoin falling, pound falling and at its lowest level against the dollar in decades.

    Gold increasing in value

FT running a piece on markets becomming increasingly concerned about the depth of a comming recession for Britain.
A recession which Liz Truss and her Socialists don’t even believe is about to hit us.

An ostrich with its head in the sand and as for her clueless chancellor Kwarteng, he’s so deluded he believes we should aim for 2.5% growth when the markets are predicting a massive depression!

    Incompetence R us

“Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed retail sales volumes shifting from shaky growth the previous month to a decline, of 1.6%, on July – the largest monthly drop since December last year.”

Remember that a fall is amplified by the inflation which is taking place as well. The real term amount here is probably closer to 2%

I agree with Thoughtful – all the ingredients for a depression is there – this coming week the Bank of England announces the interest rate -on Thursday – followed by the maxi budget on Friday
It’s maxi because the clowns will be explaining where the funding will be coming from for the fuel subsidy . Businesses will be closing on Saturday and filing to close on Monday – unemployment heading up – welfare benefits heading up – funding for Ukraine – borrowing more expensive – pound still falling ……

It was up at the time I posted, went down and is now up again in both Dollars and Sterling. You need to look at both because currency fluctuations can cause apparant rises and falls.

My local BBC news showed some locals doing a 12 hour religious service to the Queen. They were Hindu not speaking a word of English.

    Typical local British news.

GBNews seems to have given up on quality reporting of funeral events and given it over to some fat boy called paddy Christy – who sounds like he should be on ITV 4 doing racing from Newmarket ….
Bloody awful awful – that station is doomed ….
