Makes youwonder what the hell is going on in Britain when the IMF steps in to intervene in a G7 nation and criticises the flagship policy of a new administration:

“We are closely monitoring recent economic developments in the UK and are engaged with the authorities,” a spokesperson for the Washington-based crisis lender said Tuesday in an emailed statement. ”

“engaged with the authorities”? So they are in talks with the UK government about what exactly ? an emergency crisis loan? Last time that happened was another Socialist failure brought about by Red Labour

Russians are reported to be fleeing to neighbouring Countries trying to escape the war and being forced to fight.
    They are being denied entry.

It’s strange that those genuinely trying to get out of their Country because of real fears and reasons are being rejected yet thousands of economic ‘migrants’ are being collected as soon as they dip their toe in the Channel on safe Country France’s beaches.

Steyn brilliant again tonight. Great guests as well.

Been watching with interest Michael Palin’s travelogue to Iraq. I know these programmes are heavily edited, but like elsewhere the population is either very poor or fairly wealthy. The oil companies belong to the government, so little of the benefits end up benefitting those in need. However, there didn’t appear to be much unrest, although clearly a lot of security checks, but everyone goes about their business whether its bustling neon lit cities or in rural areas enjoying communal festivities.
Seeing those who end up on our beaches ‘from Iraq’ are clearly not farmers, not if they can afford to pay traffickers £8,000, – money which would give them a reasonable lifestyle back home, I cannot understand why they’re here – ok they speak English, but aside from free medical treatment what do they gain from being here ? education they can get at home, likewise a roof over their head, so unless they plan terrorist attacks or opening an Iraqi restaurant, I’m asking why ? Or are they at risk at being called to do national service and flee before getting called up ?

The Italian election signals another battle in the war of ordinary people against the internationalist elites. Inside the EU this war has fronts in Poland, Hungary, Italy and Possibly in Sweden . There strongly growing opposition parties to the EU totalitarian state in France , Spain and Holland.
No doubt the EU will use every dirty trick it can to undermine the opposition to its rule but people are seeing through this and every time th Brussels elite resort to suppression of democracy a few million more folks join the barricades so to speak.
The potential fuel crisis in Germany this winter could seriously weaken the main pillar of the EU and leave it short of funds. The Brussels elite is keen to continue pursuit of Net Zero which will further distance ordinary folks from the elite.

I think that the cracks in the EU dam are beginning to widen.

Tony Blair famously mobilised a host of celebrities in support of his New Labour Party. From the very pinnacle of British sporting success over to the Left stepped Manchester United’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson, there was the then popular Welsh songbird Charlotte Church, Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall, Baldrick from Blackadder… the list was near comprehensive.

Keir Starmer has ex-footballer and Sky pundit Gary Neville: Gary Neville blasts ‘immoral’ tax cuts for rich… I don’t know any person on more than £150,000 a year that will think it’s the right thing to do to basically give us more money. (Liverpool Echo) – he obviously doesn’t know the top stars in his own game that well…

Ronaldo fined €18.8m over tax evasion… Prosecutors say the proceeds were funnelled through low-tax companies in foreign nations to avoid paying the required tax. (BBC 2019)

Gary Lineker facing £4.9m tax bill… The Match of The Day host has been told by HMRC that he is not a freelancer but rather an employee of the BBC and BT Sports and could face a tax liability of £4.9 million. (Tax Disputes, 4 Middle Temple Lane busy touting for trade online in May 2021)

Over 300 footballers including Premier League stars ‘probed’ for tax avoidance… HMRC are reportedly looking to crack down on tax avoidance linked to image rights with 329 professional footballers, 31 clubs and 91 agents currently being investigated (Daily Mirror July 2022)

Either our Gary Neville doesn’t know his own game, or perhaps he’s virtue signalling and asking us to swallow a load of old tosh.

Noticing the sudden hullabaloo about the fall in the value of sterling and the supposedly causationally related proposed tax cuts, one smelt a rodent.

Could this be the work of Rishi Sunak’s City pals extracting their revenge on Truss and Kwarsi?

The Telegraph has a similiar theory: Run on pound blamed on City Remainers… Hedge fund manager Chrispin Odey has claimed the historic rout of the pound was triggered by Remainers in the City who “hate” the government

Good to see that while politicians, political factions and even parties may come and go, the media influence of those shady deep state actors goes from strength to strength: ‘Twindemic’ Alert.. Go get you jabs! (Daily Express... “United with the people of Ukraine” – because… of course we are)

      Could be.

More likely the Bank of England as Remainers deliberately keeping the interest rate low to cause problems for a Conservative Government who are in power, as well as then make a few bob for themselves and their City pals who are Remainers as Chris Odey has noted.

Think we are heading down a route that may include moves toward a World Government. Of course that might mean redundancy for a massive numbers of bankers and FX traders if there is just one world currency. Ooops!

I think our Gary is in a competition for the knighthood with our David beckham – some might say ( I don’t ) that David queuing for the queen was his latest attempt while our Gary is going for the labour knighthood .

Who cares ? Honours are dishonest …..

Anyway – more importantly – mortgages are now being offered at 5.99%. The markets are well ahead of the disfunctional Bank of England which is completely out of step with the real world .
If mortgages are really 6% now – what will they be in 6 months ? I reckon nearer to 10% – if Russia continues fighting and inflation continues up .

And the effect of this ? Maybe repossessions – a retraction of the southern housing market ? Certainly a deepening recession . More public sector strikes . More CCJs – more personal bankrupts …

Red Labour – then – has an open goal – but it has a tendency to cock it up . The chancellor has demonstrated not being up to the job .

. I’ve written here that any idea of cutting taxes when the fools are cutting down money trees is mad – well it is .

Solution ? Freeze public spending – by hook or by crook – increase interest rates by over 2% by December 2022 . Find a way of stopping the 45% tax cut

None of the above will happen ….

Funny isn’t it ? Now that the government is going to borrow money to subsidise your fuel bills – you don’t hear about people freezing now or riding buses to stay warm .

But come Saturday – when the new rate kicks in – we might here a ‘not enough ‘ narrative … with references to godless Christmas – which the Christ hating BBC always refers to …

Liz Truss’s troubles leave Labour buoyant

Labour’s former leader Ed Miliband is in ebullient mood. He leans back in his chair, headphones on, chuckling, talking to us on the BBC’s Newscast podcast a few hours after Sir Keir Starmer’s speech to this year’s Labour conference. Now the shadow secretary of state for climate change and net zero, he knows what losing feels like and he’s been around long enough to see his party do its fair share of internal bickering. He, like others in Liverpool, are convinced something has now changed.

And there is, undoubtedly, a buoyancy here. A buoyancy borne of banishing the internal squabbles of the past; floating too on the self-made troubles of the new prime minister. People here have looked on open mouthed at what’s happened in the last few days in the markets and are worried about the consequences. But they are excited about the political chance they hope it might give them. Sir Keir calculates Liz Truss has chosen to sail away from the seas upon which an election can be won; he wants to be seen to be tacking straight towards them.

The IMF actually promotes to countries that they should adopt “green growth” plans

when in fact those plans will
      – cost countries £trillions
      – cause their energy prices to rise
      – cause their domestic energy to be unresilient to spurts in world gas prices

      as been proven to happen
ie the US fracked and had more resilience.
cos they had gas on their doorstep and could export surplus at high prices.

Absolutely the opposite – as I’ve said here before – I have dirty hands because I once carried out ‘ racial awareness’ training – a sin I can never forgive myself – so I’ve been on courses to ‘enlighten ‘ on the causes and expressions of racism .

Meanwhile the headline for Labour is:

More than eight months after the underwater volcano near Tonga erupted on Jan. 14, scientists are still analyzing the impacts of the violent blast, and they’re discovering that it could warm the planet.

Recently, researchers calculated that the eruption of Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apa spewed a staggering 50 million tons (45 million metric tons) of water vapor into Earth’s atmosphere, in addition to enormous quantities of ash and volcanic gases. This massive vapor injection increased the amount of moisture in the global stratosphere by about 5%, and could trigger a cycle of stratospheric cooling and surface heating — and these effects may persist for months to come, according to a new study.

The point is that they have no clue what WILL happen. They just observe what DID happen then make up a story as if to say they know why it happened. Then they tweak their story when something they did not predict happens.

I am quite certain they have no clue what we actually need to do to limit global warming to any specific number of degrees. They just say whatever happens to fit what could realistically be paid and which they can then tap into themselves.

Priced in Dollars and Liz Truss has tanked the pound. Oil prices have fallen like a stone, but prices at the pumps are still high as they ever were.

Where is the outrage from Libore? Why are they so quick to jump on useless silly bandwagons but so slow to tackle things which really matter.
They will moan and carp about high profits, they will look to these to seize and squander for themselves, but they will not help the common people when they have the chance.

Prices at the pumps are clearly NOT as as high as they were

It’s not so much that the pound has fallen
rather that the dollar has risen against all other currencies
cos each country has to buy more dollars to buy the same amount of gas.

If you’d travelled across the world to pursue a better life, would you move back in return for money?

Germany is betting that the answer is yes.

The country has long offered migrants and asylum seekers financial incentives to leave its shores, and until 28 February 2018 it’s prepared to pay out extra.

Individuals will get €1,000 and families up to €3,000 (£2,650; $3,540) to cover rent or resettlement costs back in their home countries – things like basic kitchen or bathroom facilities.

Critics say Angela Merkel’s government is trying to bribe its way out of a tricky situation, but supporters say the scheme will help sad, exhausted migrants who just want to go home.

Germany is by no means first to this approach. So where else has done it – and is it morally wrong?

Lefty lobby groups like Client Earth filter their donations through various funds

what counts is the validity of the message
