A February 2008 Freedom of Information Act request for the release of details of MPs’ expenses claims was allowed by an Information Tribunal but challenged by the House of Commons Authorities on the grounds that it was “unlawfully intrusive”.[2] In May 2008 the High Court (England and Wales) ruled in favour of releasing the information.[3][4] In April 2009 the House of Commons authorities announced that publication of expenses, with certain information deemed “sensitive” removed,[5] would be made in July 2009.[6] But before this could take place the expenses records and documentation were leaked to The Daily Telegraph newspaper, which began publishing details in daily instalments from 8 May 2009.

TWatO Watch #1, the BBC don’t understand or do not wish to understand

I switch on late, late getting back home, and land in a discussion about ‘the-cost-of-living-crisis’ and inflation, neither cause of which the BBC understand or wish to understand. Reason may be because they have helped cause it with their Global Warming and Climate Change narrative. The gas price has collapsed again today and is now at 185p per therm. If you click on the gas price on this BBC w-site page https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/topics/cxwdwz5d8gxt/natural-gas you will see the war in Ukraine* is nothing to do with the climb in prices because the price was climbing above 240p per therm in October 2021. Now what were the BBC getting all excited about in September 2021 and October 2021? It is true that the gas price goes up every winter but usually price follows after demand and never that high.

The BBC do not appear to understand inflation, just like the present Government. If Jeremy Hunt is really smart he will persuade Liz Truss to give up on NetZero, give up on windmills and solar panels and start re-opening coal mines, drilling for oil and gas as well as building British owned nuclear power stations. It is COPs, One to Twenty-Six, that are driving present inflation and will be behind the world recession that is coming. And on 31 October, if the PM and Jeremy Hunt are really smart they will take back ‘temporary’ control over Base Rate from the MPC, make the MPC redundant without any pay-off and put up Base Rate by two hundred base points to 4.25%. In addition the PM and Chancellor should slash the Fuel Duty on diesel and tell the bus and rail companies they must change their fares to suit.

If inflation is driven by taxation, there is nothing in the world that the MPC can do to bring it down via Base Rate. Blair and Brown taught us that much: 40% inflation 1997-2010.

Shapps was opposed to the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union prior to the 2016 referendum and voted Remain.[38] However, following the referendum, Shapps announced he would support the result and vote to trigger Article 50. He also called on other Remain supporting MPs to do the same, arguing that voting down Article 50 to prevent Brexit would be “creating a situation which no-one wants be it MPs, voters or business” and that Parliament would contradict the fact it had granted the public a referendum on Britain’s EU membership if it was not prepared to respect the result.[39]

MPs split their time between working in Parliament itself, working in the constituency that elected them and working for their political party.

Some MPs from the governing party (or parties) become government ministers with specific responsibilities in certain areas, such as Health or Defence. These MPs do not stop working for their constituency and, whatever their role in Government or Parliament, will still hold regular surgeries to help their constituents.

The BBC missed opportunities to stop “monstrous” abuse by DJ Jimmy Savile and broadcaster Stuart Hall because of a “culture of fear”, a report says.

The Dame Janet Smith review identified 72 victims of Savile – including eight who were raped – and 21 victims of Hall, over five decades from 1959.

She said BBC culture “was deeply deferential” and staff were reluctant to speak to managers about complaints.

Director general Lord Hall said the BBC had failed to protect the victims.

The review found that senior managers were not told of complaints about Savile because of an “atmosphere of fear” which still exists in the BBC.

However, a small number of BBC managers in Manchester had been aware of Hall’s conduct, it said.

Hall, 86, who presented TV show It’s a Knockout, was jailed in 2013 after admitting indecently assaulting 13 girls.

Jamaica’s broadcasting authority has banned content that “glorifies illegal activity” – such as drug and gun use.

The new rules cover TV and radio – including music – and list specific topics that are off-limits.

Scamming, drug abuse and the illegal use of firearms cannot be “promoted” – and swearing or “near-sounding” replacements are also banned.

But the strict nature of the ban has been criticised by some artists who argue music is a reflection of life.

In their demonic haste to slut-shame Truss over the price hikes, the BBC are intentionally hiding the fact that the US and many Western nations are facing the same or an even worse situation.

You cannot shut down the economy of a Country for two years because of a bug and collect the economic fallout from a large European war and expect everything to be hunky-dory!

Their blatant attempts to pin everything on the Conservatives in general and Truss in particular without taking these huge events into account reveal the stench of political bias that infects the monster.

Nige is right. Its a Remainer ‘coup’. There’ll be no stopping illegal migration – it will still be happening in 5 years time.

“Here is a decent, ordinary fellow Englishman, who in broad daylight in my own town says to me, his Member of Parliament, that the country will not be worth living in for his children. I simply do not have the right to shrug my shoulders and think about something else. What he is saying, thousands and hundreds of thousands are saying and thinking – not throughout Great Britain, perhaps, but in the areas that are already undergoing the total transformation to which there is no parallel in a thousand years of English history. We must be mad, literally mad, as a nation to be permitting the annual inflow of some 50,000 dependents, who are for the most part the material of the future growth of the immigrant descended population. It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre. So insane are we that we actually permit unmarried persons to immigrate for the purpose of founding a family with spouses and fiancées whom they have never seen…..

For reasons which they could not comprehend, and in pursuance of a decision by default, on which they were never consulted, they found themselves made strangers in their own country. They found their wives unable to obtain hospital beds in childbirth, their children unable to obtain school places, their homes and neighbourhoods changed beyond recognition, their plans and prospects for the future defeated; at work they found that employers hesitated to apply to the immigrant worker the standards of discipline and competence required of the native-born worker; they began to hear, as time went by, more and more voices which told them that they were now the unwanted. On top of this, they now learn that a one-way privilege is to be established by Act of Parliament; a law which cannot, and is not intended to, operate to protect them or redress their grievances, is to be enacted to give the stranger, the disgruntled and the agent provocateur the power to pillory them for their private actions. …… ”

The deputy chief whip of the Truss government has also resigned . The truss government got a 96 majority over control, of the fracking debate ….

… this situation is now changing by the hour . I think more ministers may be going soon …

A winter election seem inevitable ….. sites like this one will be gone / redundant under a socialist regime ….

Fed, certainly Conservative MPs, possibly/probably more so than the Labour MPs, are all ambitious for the top job. If the PM seems like a liability then they will jump ship like Javid and Sunak did on Johnson. Bet they wish Bojo was in No.10 with the wallpaper and Rishi in No.11 right now. The Conservative MPs should have been more careful.

Permit me a Nelson Muntz moment: “Ha ha!”

A winter election is scheduled anyway: 12 December 2024. If Truss clings on by her fingertips until then, will it guarantee a Conservative defeat? Maybe.

I’ve been looking at the twitter – Brillo thinks it’s 50/50 truss will be gone by the morning . The threshold for a no confidence vote has been passed but Graham Brady wants 50% to submit letters .
There are serious questions about the voting process tonight – with an inquiry by the Speaker .

A Home Secretary , the chief whip , the deputy chief whip all gone within 12 hours – ?
          Shaps as Home Secretary ? Surely a joke …. It’s done Up2 – it’s done

Maybe. But if Liz Truss really has modelled herself on Mrs T she will try to hang on just like Maggie did. What were they saying about the voting process or were you refering to the Chris Bryant lie about a Conservative being manhandled into the voting lobby for the Fracking vote?

Home Sec had broken a security rule, that is why she resigned.

An early General Election will require a vote in the House.

I think they need to change the way a Conservative leader is elected. Involve the Party members first. Then give the Party’s MPs a short-list of names to vote on.

I’m amazed you think there will be a Conservative party – as for Tory ( blue labour ) MPs – they didn’t want truss before – and after the flack they must have been getting – they’ll be wanting another brand – rishi ….

Fed, there is at present …. at least they have the name Conservative Party and that means no other political Party can use it. As for Rishi, he should be in No.11 and Bojo (usual disclaimers) in No.10.

                Who’s sorry now?

I wish people wouldn’t say inflation can only go up
Energy market is screwed up, so prices went crazy
Most of the world will be busy trying to open up new supplies vs Opec and Russia
so in the long run oil prices should drop down and gas next year should be cheaper than this year.

It’s an effing boring video unless an angle actually showing Guru-Murthy emerges
It’s a camera pointed at Number 10s front door
The dialogue is just Murthy doing that childish door step calling out journos do
Then cos he hasn’t provoked anything out of Steve Baker, he says “What a c*nt as apparently Baker walks away.

      Projection is a libmob characteristic.

Stew – are you ok ? It’s not whether the video is boring ‘ exciting – it proves the attitude of the MSM – particularly toward someone as unusually decent as Mr Baker – but perhaps you don’t get it …

FFS as if we need proof
As I say the labels these libmob people throw onto other actually apply to them themselves.

They don’t actuality kill and knife people themselves
but the way they throw petrol onto every metaphorical fire
facilitates the rape gangs, has led to all the deaths in Ukraine, deprives the UK of resources as they get diverted to crazy climate schemes, thus many people suffer and die weeks earlier than they would cos healthcare has less resources. etc.
In other countries Africans and Asians suffer too
Libmob journos laugh while people are wrongly jailed
whilst at the same time they help the guilty stay free
          eg Brendan Cox etc.

Thank you for putting that – a leading poster hear – often critical of others – think that clip is ‘boring ‘and there is no need for evidence of the attitude or ‘ behaviour of the MSM .

Well I think it is needed .

If there is no need to ‘evidence’ how the MSM behaves this site might as well close down .

@Fed an off camera video of one person is evidence of how that one person behaves.
It’s not real evidence of how MSM behaves in general
we provide other evidence here daily.

Likewise when a righty next gets caught on a hot mic apparently saying something, that does NOT prove anything generic about all righties.

BTW I provided a transcript cos generally that is better and quicker than forcing people to watch a video.
