Manchester students deface poem by ‘racist’ Kipling

    ….

“Truths turn into dogmas the instant that they are disputed. Thus every man who utters a doubt defines a religion. And the scepticism of our time does not really destroy the beliefs, rather it creates them; gives them their limits and their plain and defiant shape. We who are Liberals once held Liberalism lightly as a truism. Now it has been disputed, and we hold it fiercely as a faith. We who believe in patriotism once thought patriotism to be reasonable, and thought little more about it. Now we know it to be unreasonable, and know it to be right. We who are Christians never knew the great philosophic common sense which inheres in that mystery until the anti-Christian writers pointed it out to us. The great march of mental destruction will go on. Everything will be denied. Everything will become a creed. It is a reasonable position to deny the stones in the street; it will be a religious dogma to assert them. It is a rational thesis that we are all in a dream; it will be a mystical sanity to say that we are all awake. Fires will be kindled to testify that two and two make four. Swords will be drawn to prove that leaves are green in summer. We shall be left defending, not only the incredible virtues and sanities of human life, but something more incredible still, this huge impossible universe which stares us in the face. We shall fight for visible prodigies as if they were invisible. We shall look on the impossible grass and the skies with a strange courage. We shall be of those who have seen and yet have believed.”

The woke elite of football punditry were quick to join the bandwagon. Always outspoken Labour Party supporter Gary Neville worried: “How were the Saudi Arabians accepted into the Premier League? We don’t know. There’s no transparency and there’s no independence.” Specifically criticising the Saudi acquisition, he said: “there will always be question marks about them”…

You’d be forgiven for wondering, then, why Labour and left aren’t sheikh-ing their fists at the impending Qatari takeover of Manchester United

ITV News at Ten did a report tonight on the devastation caused by Fentanyl use in American cities and how lives can be saved by the Narcan nasal spray.
Reporter Dan Rivers focussed on the death of a middle-class white guy.
Now if you’re like me you probably associate the drug Fentanyl with the name George Floyd. So they must have mentioned him, right?
    Nope. Can’t imagine why.

    • JohnC says:

I wonder if a lot of people have a stand-out moment about Floyd.

Mine is when they were trying to interview the police chief who said he had to go because a young black girl had been shot dead through the head in a drive-by shooting.

And none of the media were interested because it was blacks who did it.

Meanwhile a career criminal high on drugs resisted arrest and an over-zealous cop – who clearly hated him – went too far while restraining him. And the Leftists went crazy, the witch Pelosi actually thanked George for dying to show us the error of our ways and the media circus watched as he was buried in a gold coffin.

That was a big-red flag to me that our society was totally broken. The hypocrisy and double-standards of the Left disgust me more than words can say. They don’t care one bit about black people unless their death can be used in their ideological war against the Right. They are the worst kind of liars.

Which reminds me : I wonder what has happened to maxi. Has his funding been pulled or have the recent BBC ‘troll’ articles finally woken up his sense of shame.

        John:

I do not think the cops hated Floyd at all. He was just a criminal arrested for passing a fake $20.

They showed concern for him and called an ambulance. This was nothing like the Rodney King arrest. The technique of controlling him by putting a knee to the back of the neck, not the throat, was taught by the police force. It was just to keep him down without hurting him. He died of the fentanyl overdose and nothing more. The entire case was in essence a lynching of the cops who did nothing wrong.

All does start to become clear when you see a picture of him:
    _129392518_amiesleighton.jpg.webp

I don’t recall EVER seeing this for the vast majority of stories about boys stabbing boys where the victim is black and so – we can presume – is the boy they are protecting who did it.

Nobody can possibly think this kind of reporting at the BBC is not biased. Which makes me certain it is absolutely deliberate and the BBC know OFCOM are absolutely in agreement.

Absolutely : anyone who can go up close to someone else and stick them deep in the chest with a knife deserves no protection at all.

You can be sure this wasn’t the first time he’d used that knife either.

These total idiots who claim is wasn’t his fault, he is a victim of whitey’s culture and he can be reformed should be told to grow up. We are animals like all the others – and if someone has the ability to do this in them, they will always have it in them.

Especially that one. He’s not normal.

I just find it incredibly convenient for the BBC/Leftist agenda that the 15 year old we actually get to see is white when the vast majority of cases we don’t get to see have black victims. Same as the hand they show holding a knife is always white.

For those watching in black and white edition

It has to be the very pinacle of some hobbyist protester’s career so far – a large colour frontpage pic in the morning edition of the Times newspaper: On cue A Just Stop Oil protester stopped play at the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield last night by throwing orange dye on one of the tables

    Orange dye

To borrow those classic words of TV commentator Ted Lowe: “…and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green”

Or did he say: “…and for those of you who are watching in black and white, it’s the one behind the blue” ?

No matter, my recollection tends toward the latter version but the internet isn’t quite sure.

Our protester must be pleased as punch since he also got himself frontpage of the Telegraph too. However, the Guardian reproduces the shot on their frontpage in only the tiniest of versions. Does this tell us something? There’s no use preaching to the converted?

Anyway the Guardian has other fish to fry. Or Royal quiche to diss: ‘More like spinach pie’ Felicity Cloake tests the coronation quiche – coronation gets a small ‘c’ in the Gruan house style – as you sense they’d much prefer to enjoy serving that flan back to the Royal face in old school comic style.

The deferential Express reports on the Royal menu with similiar obsequiousness to that which they employ to support the former Goldman Sachs office boy now our Swindon regional manager Rishi Sunak and along with our interim PM the Express loves our proxy war: By Royal Command Eat quiche for my Coronation! – capital ‘C’

In the words of George Orwell: “It is a strange fact, but it is unquestionably true, that almost any English intellectual would feel more ashamed of standing to attention during “God Save the King” than stealing from a poor box” – not that these days you’d get them anywhere near a church or its poor box

The left-leaning metropolitan youthful female-orientated (don’t worry, she’s a voter) ‘i’ newspaper’s editorial staff have a moment of self-awareness: Are you a middle class cook? Take the quizz…

The similarly orientated corporate advertising freesheet Metro joins in the fun: Forget your coronation chicken. Here’s the King’s flanastic treat!

What about the workers? The Old Labour Daily Mirror: Let them eat quiche.

So what about all this supposedly grass roots protest stunt publicity, you ask… does it have any effect on public opinion?

I’ve always loved horse racing but the Grand National protesters have changed my mind. The infiltration of the Aintree course was certainly effective in forcing people to consider the ethical basis of the Grand National – Simon Kelner in the ‘i’ today.

Recent convert? I’m not convinced by our Simon’s sudden Damascene epiphany: Letter from the editor: Re-evaluating the Grand National… Thanks to all of you who wrote in response to my letter of Monday, in which I explained that I’d re-evaluated my view of the Grand National after the shocking sight of the corpses of two horses that fell, fatally, in Saturday’s race – that was our Simon having his doubts way back in April 2011 under the Independent banner. When, mind you we notice the ‘i’ cost 20p and the frontpage headline fretted over NHS reforms – it’s now priced at 80p (60p if you subscribe) – as for the NHS – it staggers on and on unreformed.

Here’s a rather telling observation from our Simon in 2011: Predictably, I suppose, the overwhelming majority of correspondents disapproved of the race – it’s generally those who feel strongly against something who are moved to write in – or to protest. Left-leaning Independent correspondents representing a minority of a minority.

The Mirror’s top story takes it race-baiting with latterday race martyr Stephen Lawrence’s dad. The FT goes Putin-baiting with some: Russian opposition activist – and the female interest Times frontapage finds room for: The 7 things millennial women talk about; and Gene finding could deliver contraceptive pill for men – despite the patriarchy.

Ofcom is today introducing a new requirement and supplementary guidance which will help to ensure the BBC communicates more openly and consistently with its competitors about planned changes to its public services.

The new, enforceable requirement applies to any planned changes to the BBC’s public service activities which are likely to be subject to a “materiality assessment” under the operating framework.

It will ensure that the BBC’s competitors are informed about such plans in advance, so that they have fair opportunity to comment during the process.

We are also introducing additional guidance setting out our expectations on how the BBC should communicate and engage with stakeholders in relation to such changes. This includes measures to ensure greater transparency and consistency in its dialogue with them.

These are some of a number of changes, announced today, concerning how we will regulate the BBC’s impact on competition going forward. All new requirements and guidance, and the reasons for them – including those which respond to concerns raised in our review of BBC Studios – are set out in full in our statement.

The term ‘transparency’ and BBc do not coexist. But they are consistent.. ly venal.

Dover MP Natalie Elphicke told the Commons that the BBC’s “shocking report” contained the “breath-taking” disclosure of free French public bus services being used to ferry migrants from camps to Dunkirk beaches.

      £8bn to families

The remittances sent home by migrants can be a lifeline for families in poorer countries – sent back by people working in wealthier parts of the world.

Here’s something the excruciatingly far Left BBC won’t be reporting (and remember the omissions are the most egregious form of bias that there is).

The subject this time is the lies of the lunatic Democrat love of crime in major US cities in this case New York where the Socialist have been claiming that poor people need to steal in order to survive and that they are only doing so because they cannot afford the basic essentials of life.

Here’s the proof that is not the case at all.

    https://dnyuz.com/2023/04/15/a-tiny-number-of-shoplifters-commit-thousands-of-new-york-city-thefts/

Nearly a third of all shoplifting arrests in New York City last year involved just 327 people, the police said. Collectively, they were arrested and rearrested more than 6,000 times, Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said. Some engage in shoplifting as a trade, while others are driven by addiction or mental illness; the police did not identify the 327 people in the analysis.

So just 327 people were responsible for a third of all the shoplifting and for the most part nothing was done despite this group being arrested more than 6000 times !

This is the paradise the British Socialists have in mind for us in this country and what happens in the US inevitably ends up coming here. With the British rainbow painting dance troupe we used to call the Police, it will probably be even worse as they won’t even bother to turn up to crimes!

I’m sure this isn’t going to be coming to a small screen near you soon as it’s an inconvenient truth the Left don’t want to be exposed.

I received an email from Change.org asking me to sign Chloe Sharratt’s petition to ban horse racing in the UK. Chloe talks of horses being murdered and such things, but what struck me most was the line,’ sport for the rich and greedy’. Have these activists been in a betting shop recently.

While some nutters rename The Brecon Beacons – a view of which I persevered with for several years while in reform school, I wonder what these same nutters will do about the orange lollipops which flash at pedestrian crossings!

Can we call them ‘Belisha bacons’ and happily enrage the ‘enrichers’, or maybe ‘Belisha bikons’, and enrage Jeremy Vine?

I’m sure there’s a full department of lbgtqwerts in some snivil serpent department in Croydon, dealing with the issues , ‘working’ from home, and delivering a seventeen-thousand page ‘report’ in seventeen languages, on bugger all as usual…

I suspect the awful BBC will ask one of their autocue-readers (who are expected to sod off to Radio Spaffordshire soon at the tax-payers’ expense), to ‘investigate’, but I won’t know because I’d rather have my fingernails trapped in a car door than listen or watch that sort of crap!

Whilst not condoning shooting in the USA a black youngster who may have made a genuine and innocent mistake by knocking on the wrong door, some questions occur.,

    1. Why is this even ON the BBC news at all ? Well, we all know the answer and it has nothing to do with news and everything to do with the BBC’s unending black victimhood narrative.
    2. Could the fact that the perpetrator was 84 years old, lived alone, and it was 10 pm at night just have a little bit to do with it?

As soon as the item on Look North about a lady bitten by a false widow spider had Peter Levy reporting the spiders only used to be found in the south of England, I knew what was coming, and wasn’t disappointed.

When the specialist in false widow spiders appeared, with his vert first sentence he told us the spiders were now found in the Midlands because of climate change.

As regional news tries to have the same story made local in each region, has anyone from elsewhere seen a climate change story on their regional news this evening?

Whilst working on Hull Docks in the 90’s we were called to one of the sheds to deal with a pest problem. The pests were black widow spiders, they arrived in vintage and veteran cars that had been re-imported from California. The place was wick with them.
