It didn’t work out too well for General Gordon edition

71 NHS doctors trapped in Sundan (‘i’); …all from Inverness? But that’s a line form a rugby song. …many had travelled with family members and children to celebrate Eid with relatives (BBC) – family members AND children?

No wonder we poor saps back here in the UK can’t get an NHS GP appointment for love nor money (free at the point of access, rationed by queuing & wait lists) and have to wait up to seven hours for treatment in A&E

Meanwhile, as luck would have it, the FT publishes one of those rather badly-timed adverts in their prime frontpage spot: Standard Chartered… Connecting you to opportunities in the Sub-Saharan Africa – is that where the smart money is going these days?

So the big news story presented to us punters – whether we like it or not – is: Nightmare in Sudan for 4,000 Brits GET THEM OUT (Metro) – best wishes to them and all that but no “Brit” that I know ever contemplated a fortnight of family hols in Khartoum – it never worked out that well for General Gordon either. Watch the movie.

The Times wants to involve us in this drama: Race against time to save 4,000 trapped in Sudan – they carry a pic of: Italians board a military aircraft… – eagle-eyed observers may spot the German iron cross airforce markings on the neigbouring military transport plane in the photo.

Frankly I’m surprised that people still believe and imagine our much reduced Britain now has the global reach and resources to pluck our diaspora of various passport and visa-holders out of any far-flung random backwater at the drop of an ambassadorial feather cocked hat. I’m further intrigued by the anti-Brexit Remainer-inspired equivalence drawn between supposed european efficiency versus UK delay and failure in such matters.

These are the same Remainer types – the very same people – who tend to hail our failing WFH cringing chin-less cry-baby civil servants as being absolutely spiffing chaps dedicated to their jobs and would like to give them ever more responsibilty over us. And when they cock up, when the Khartoum ka-ka hits the fandabbydosey and our man in Sudan goes awal: Ambassador was on holiday when violebce began (Times) well, you couldn’t make it up.

Perhaps Giles Lever was doing a sort of return exchange visit touring UK NHS GP surgeries? Or on a fact-finding tour of UK Sudanese communities? It is thought that the UK is home to the oldest Sudanese diaspora in the Western World, as well as one of the largest… London Birmingham, Brighton… Edinburgh Glasgow… There are also significant numbers of Sudanese dispersed across the UK in cities and towns including as Dundee, Aberdeen, Cardiff, Leeds, Portsmouth, Newport, Bristol, Newcastle upon Tyne, Stoke on Trent, Leicester, Sheffield, Derby, Southampton and Nottingham (Thank you Wiki)

    In economic news…

Tax too high, chancellor admits (FT) – you’ll perhaps recall here that rather coarse but apposite saying: Don’t piss on my shoes and tell me it’s raining

Speaking of which: South West Water hosepipe ban extends to 390,000 homes (BBC)

But historically we’ve managed our water supplies pretty well (pun intended) in the past, haven’t we?

How ‘rewiggling’ Swindale Beck brought its fish back… “Nature needs chaos, it needs randomness,” says Lee Schofield from the RSPB. (Victoria Gill and Sophie Woodcock BBC News Climate and science team)

The RSPB is employing contractors to kill birds and foxes using dogs and controversial live bait traps ‘away from public view’, documents reveal (Daily Mail, 24th April) – oops… but now I can see why the RSPB needed a quick PR puff piece from friends at the Beeb.

But I digressed. High taxes… something must be done, right? Someone somewhere in our media should campaign for lower tax, surely?

Retail leaders confront PM as support surges for Mail campaign – sounds promising…

Business blasts Rishi’s ‘own goal’ over tourist tax (Mail) – tourists? How about lowering our bloody taxes… how about ease the burden and disincentive for us poor sods who actually live here?

Just as the FT promotes a weekend feature they like to call How To Spend It, so our government is never caught short of new ways to splash our tax cash…

Military mobilizes for Sudan evacuation (Guardian); Britain and EU vow to protect wind farms from Putin (Times)

Meanwhile our politicians gird their loins, so to speak, for a bit of a war of the sexes: Rishi: I’ll protect women’s rights… A pledge from our PM to hearten Britain’s women (Express) – the only Pledge Mr AsI would give to a woman is one of those spray cans of furniture polish – I jest of course. Women, you have to love them.

So in the blue corner we have light fly-weight, desperately trying to bulk up to feather-weight, manlet Rishi boxing in the girls’ division

And in the red corner the newly-socialism-curious man-crush on Sir Keir formerly patriotic Times newspaper weighing in with: Boys will learn respect for women under Labour – sounds a bit… bullying?

Here come the girls – as the military drum beat begins – as in that Boots the chemist TV ad jingle of yore. Don’t worry, she’s a voter – as Mr AsI likes to note lately.

Haiti has been a dodgy place for decades. Read Graham Greene’s novel, The Comedians, which is a quasi documentary of Haiti c1960’s. Papa Doc didn’t like it, from Wikipedia:

Duvalier attacked The Comedians in the press. His Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a brochure entitled, “Graham Greene DemasquĆ©” (Finally Exposed). It described Greene as “A liar, a cretin, a stool-pigeon… unbalanced, sadistic, perverted… a perfect ignoramus… lying to his heart’s content… the shame of proud and noble England… a spy… a drug addict… a torturer.” (“The last epithet has always a little puzzled me,” Greene confessed.)[4]

The BBC is very excited that Mattel have launched a Barbie doll with Down’s syndrome. I wasn’t aware that dolls can have genetic conditions, but perhaps they mean a Barbie doll with the appearance of a woman with Down’s syndrome. In recent years Mattel, the manufacturer, have introduced a range of Barbie dolls with a wider range of body types and colours, their stated goal being “all children to see themselves in Barbie” as well as “play with dolls who do not look like themselves”. Which no doubt many will consider to be a laudable aim.

The question many will be asking is when can we expect to see a transgender Barbie? Not just a Ken doll with a frock, but a true doll with a removable willy and breasts, complete with a little saw, a miniature Bud Lite can and a Nike sports bra.

    C’mon… you know they’re thinking about it…

These are what the BBC call ‘freedom fighters’ – as are all Muslim terrorists and the IRA. Which is why they don’t report things like this.

This is what the BBC say about Antifa:

‘the origins of their movement to fights against European fascists in the 1920s and 1930s’

‘They are opposed to Neo-Nazis, Neo-fascism, white supremacists and racism, and these days the movement that encapsulates some of those ideas: the alt-right.’

‘Their willingness to use violence marks out Antifa from many other left-wing activists, although the Antifa members we spoke to said they denounce the use of weapons and violent direct action. They said if violence does occur, itā€™s as a form of self-defence.’

‘Female members of Antifa groups told us they view the current administration as being anti-women. They point to White House policies on immigration, affordable health care, abortion rights and voting rights and say they disproportionately affect women and minorities.’

I was Treasurer at my local social club. I knew where every penny went. I didn’t give staff 50p for a pint of milk without a receipt.

    ___________________________________________

Ex-SNP treasurer U-turns over knowledge of Ā£100k motorhome after insisting he knew nothing.

The Scottish Tories said Colin Beattie had “serious questions to answer over this bombshell revelation”.

The former Treasurer of the SNP Colin Beattie has U-turned over the Ā£100,000 motorhome, admitting that he did know about the caravan’s purchase. Colin Beattie released a statement tonight, admitting he became aware of the purchase “via the 2021 annual accounts”.

Speaking to journalists for the first time since being arrested and subsequently released pending investigation into the SNP’s finances, he told journalists at Holyrood that he did not know about the caravan’s purchase.

Asked if he knew about the purchase of the motorhome, Mr Beattie said: “No, I didn’t know about it.”

But in a statement published tonight, he said: “This afternoon I was asked if I knew about the motorhome purchase to which I answered no.

“Given some of the coverage of this answer, I believe it is important to clarify that I was unaware of the transaction at the time of purchase.

The party also renewed calls for new First Minister Humza Yousaf to suspend Mr Beattie, former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell, who was also arrested and released without charge pending further investigation, and Nicola Sturgeon while the police probe is ongoing.

Scottish Conservative Chairman Craig Hoy said: ā€œThis causal admission from Colin Beattie beggars belief. Heā€™s effectively saying ā€˜Motorhome? What motorhome?ā€™

Considering it involve cyclists, drug abuse and a particularly barbaric attack on said cyclist by a motorist, you would think this story would warrant some outrage at the BBC:

But no. Nothing. They have ignored it.

Cyclist whipped with belt in road rage attack by ā€˜balloon-inhaling driverā€™
    https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/tower-hamlets-crime-limehouse-cyclist-attacked-police-london-b1076370.html

‘It appears to show the driver leaping out of a black Mercedes clutching a balloon between his lips and a bladed weapon in his hand.’

This is the attack from the ‘Evening Standard’:
    newFile-9.jpg?width=640&auto=webp&quality=50&crop=438%3A292%2Csmart

The first thing I asked myself is why they went to the trouble of hiding the attackers face. So I dug a little further.

They have a hyper-link to the original video (not embedded so you can watch it in the article) and what in fact happened is that a white man was deliberately driven into by the black Mercedes then two black men got out and beat the sh1t out of him even while he was unconscious.

It reminded me of a scene I saw years ago where people in an African village murdered someone who had done something they didn’t like. They are absolute barbarian scum – any policeman who saw what they were doing and shot them in the act should get a medal for services to his country. Whatever colour they are.

But the BBC sweep all articles like this under the carpet because they don’t want us to know. If it were white people doing it to a black man, it would be headline news and racists like Lammy would be jumping on the bandwagon.

THIS is what is so utterly wrong with the Left. They are complete double-standard hypocrites who don’t care one bit about who does what to who. They are convinced that if they keep pushing their ideological agenda, one day everyone will love each other and drug dealers like these black men in the mercedes will get proper jobs and go to dinner parties with their white neighbours.

They live in cuckoo land. Meanwhile scenes like that are now commonplace. Import third world, get third world.

New influx already on it’s way from Sudan.

Fatal flat fire survivors ‘at risk of homelessness’
        https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-65330956

Another morphing headline where it is a quote from one of the people themselves. Hardly going to be objective.

But what shocked me was reading the article. This is what our taxes are being spent on.

‘Tower Hamlets Council has been providing hotel accommodation for 17 survivors of the fire on Cornwall Street, Shadwell, on 5 March.’.

‘About 18 men of Bangladeshi origin were living in the three-roomed flat at the time.’

The council said it had spent “around Ā£100,000” helping the men despite no “legal obligation to offer this continued accommodation and support”.

        WTF ??.

‘The 17 men have received a “weekly allowance totalling Ā£1,250 per person”, a spokesperson for Tower Hamlets Council said.’

‘The landlord of the flat, who spoke to the BBC previously through a translator, denied responsibility for any alleged overcrowding and said the claims were false.’

I wonder how much money my local council would give me if my house caught fire. I expect it is around zero.

I don’t blame these men for this situation : I blame the Left, the EU and our government for creating the conditions in our country which put them in that position. And especially the BBC for forcing that agenda on the rest of us.

This is the real world. Not the Leftist utopia on the BBC who do their best to hide things like this from us. Our country is being raped and everything about our culture our ancestors spent centuries to build is being rapidly destroyed.

I kid you not, this is the BBC reporter twisting these stories to make everyone involved seem like a victim:

Ukraine rapidly expanding its ‘Army of Drones’ for front line
    https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-65389215

Another BBC propaganda article where I can almost hear the brass band of a victory parade as I read it.

However as usual, they omit so much relevant information that their article is basically worthless.

Like the anti-tank weapons which destroyed so many Russian tanks at the start, they have now evolved the tactics to counter these devices rendering them only useful in very specific situations.

The problem is that they all rely on GPS which is a very weak signal and very easily jammed by the Russians. That’s why all the stories about them have dried up : you may have realise how we no longer hear about the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 suicide drone (which we were told would change the course of the war) because it is now useless.

I suspect ‘Joe Tidy’ the BBC ‘Cyber reporter’ would be better off concentrating on his other twitter interests such as the FIFA footbal video games.

Of course these ferries are two or three years late but the real scandal is that the accountants canā€™t find several tens of the hundreds of millions that has been spent by the SNP government on nationalising the ship yard and on the build of the ferries. That is the true SNP scandal.

        ‘identifying sources’ is my favourite.

Anyone else noting the BBC’s progressive dancing ?

A few days ago, someone commented that there might be ‘a few hundred’ British Passport Holders in Sudan who would need to be ferried out of the country. This was immediately pounced on by someone who denied that number and said there could even be 3,000 or 4,000 (without any evidence, of course, since, AFAIAA, we do not keep count of British Passport holders in any given country, at any time). This then morphed into regular reporting by the BBC of ‘perhaps more than 4,000 requiring to be rescued’.

This morning, the BBC reporter in Cyprus commented that we’d air-lifted very few of the ‘4,000 British Passport Holders’ who need to be rescued from Sudan. So, that’s it, then, now it’s become a definite number as far as the BBC is concerned – bacause someone once mentioned that number.

Any bets they now use this number simply to castigate the UK goverment when we do not get more than 4,000 people out of Sudan ?

And, as yet, of course, there is still no definite number of British Passport Holders in Sudan at all. There might be, for instance, far fewer than half that number in total, but this will not stop the left-wing BBC from having a go at the UK, with its ‘lies, damned lies and statistics’.

Also – anyone notice just how many of these British Passport Holders in Sudan who arer being interviewed by the BBC claim to be doctors and nurses…. what the hell are they all doing there ? I thought the BBC was on a daily diet of ‘NHS crisis’, with the lack of NHS personnel claimed by the daily interviews with NHS Union (confederations, institutes, colleges, etc., etc,) representatives – but that seems to have disappeared after Sudan happened. No doubt things will get back to this ‘norm’ in a few days.
