2010 … So as Gamesa executives see it, they made the right bet by coming to China. And they insist that they have no regrets about having trained more than 500 Chinese machinery companies as a cost of playing by Beijingā€™s rules ā€” even if those rules have sometimes flouted international trade law. It is simply the table stakes of playing in the biggest game going.

ā€œIf we would not have done it, someone else would have done it,ā€ said Jorge Calvet, Gamesaā€™s chairman and chief executive.

BBC WEB-SITE Watch #1 – ah, waking up at last BBC!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-65602519 Even those arch-enthusiasts for Global Warming & Climate Change, the BBC – “The science is settled.” – have realised a future full of EdStones will be a future full of headstones, for the environment at least, with large areas given over to dead wind turbines and dead solar panels, and probably dead heat pumps, too.

While they are being promoted around the world as a crucial weapon in reducing carbon emissions, solar panels only have a lifespan of up to 25 years.

Energy experts are calling for urgent government action to prevent a looming global environmental disaster.

“It’s going to be a waste mountain by 2050, unless we get recycling chains going now,” says Ute Collier, deputy director of the International Renewable Energy Agency.

Sad news . Condolences . I lost a good friend to suicide many years ago – he was 25 and broke up with his wife . It made me think about why people kill themselves -mas well as ā€˜self harm ā€˜- which Iā€™ve also seen at close hand ā€¦.

Judging by the news there seems far more cases of serious mental illness now . The numbers of ( male ) suicides also seems to be increasing .

Causes ? Well the most obvious is the long term consequences of the response to the Chinese virus .

Iā€™ve said here before that Fear is now the ā€˜go to ā€˜ emotion – mainly caused by the MSM which pours fear out all the time .
The green crap doesnā€™t help – particularly – I think – for the young – who in my view should be ā€˜care free ā€˜ for as long as possible . So sexualising them must do untold harm – yet alone telling the the planet will die unless they recycle ā€¦..

Lastly – of course – there is the absence of guidance on the Good Way to Live and be Happy . The likes of the BBC is the opposite to this .

Iā€™m glad I am strong enough to repel the output of the BBC and itā€™s one of the many reasons I hate it and want it to die ā€¦.

My condolences Thatcher. Whether it is all part of the WEF or Gates plan, I don’t know. For those of us skeptical about climate change, the world is not a happy place because we can see how such stupid laws and pressures are destroying our way of life. But equally if you believe in all this guff, you are not happy either as the world is going to end in 10 minutes. Add on to that struggling with mortgages or rents, cost of food and if you live in an area near a ULEZ zone or equivalent and have an old car… and if you are worried about your physical health and cannot get to see a doctor. (I might add you might be able to see a doctor but the BBC tells you that you will never get an appointment). All this creates a world without hope. It is not just the UK otherwise we all could emigrate. We are not in a very happy place right now. For those of us who regularly read this site, think of it as a support system and somewhere to let off steam.

      Suicide charity stats
115 people die by suicide in the UK every week ā€“ with 75% of those deaths being male (ONS)
ie the death rate for males THREE times that of females
1 in 5 people have suicidal thoughts (NHS Digital)
      1 in 14 people self-harm (NHS Digital)
1 in 15 people attempt suicide (NHS Digital)
Males aged 45-49 have the highest suicide rate (Samaritans)
10% of young people self-harm (Mental Health Foundation)

but they then say ” 9% of employees are experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm”
em it is wrong to bunch the extreme together.
but it does show the growth trend is there but not huge
“year-on-year, the number of employees experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm has increased from 8% to 9%.”
The charity then mixes up the two extremes
Also it fails to mention the growth was post Covid
and that the Covid year had lower suicide

      Another charity says
“Suicide rates in the UK are generally decreasing,”

Flaming June and who’s sorry now edition

I see that the latest line in the rare black-veined white butterfly story is that rather than regard its sudden appearance in south east London as having occured naturally, experts now prefer the lab-leak, or somesuch, theory: …the insects were probably released by an enthusiast (Times)

Our media never let any news report with an iota of global warming potential go to waste: So as Britain enjoys above-average temperatures, naturalists have had their hopes raised… A temperature of 25C was recorded yesterday in Porthmadog, Gwynedd – so of course because it was a sunny day in Wales these scarce sun-loving butterflies suddenly turned up right on cue: …in a group of hawthorn and blackthorn trees near Bromley – makes perfect sense.

Stir Crazy was the 1980 prison buddy comedy movie directed by Sidney Poitier, written by the much-underated author Bruce Jay Friedman and starring Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor

The formerly sensible Times has put on the sunnies and gone Spring crazy: The Met Office says it could reach 27C in the south this week – well, blimey, looky here… it’s Flaming June

Weatherwatch: Flaming June ā€“ a painting not a forecast… How a popular Victorian painting became a misleading catchphrase for June weather ā€“ rarely flaming, and generally unsettled… Flaming June is the title of Sir Frederic Leightonā€™s 1895 painting of a woman in an orange dress sleeping under a canopy in the summer heat. (Thank you the Guardian)

Cute kid in sunglasses pictured frontpage – the very image of Spring: Ella Williamson, eight, enjoys the sunshine in Troon, South Ayrshire (Times)

Of course the once venerable Times is in good down and dirty red top tabloid company with their pseudo Cor Wot a Scorcher! (forecast): We’re oven ready Brits… Hopes of heatwave rose yesterday as weather boffins predict the mercury will rise to 27C (Daily Star)

And of course the posh friends of Greta are out in force: Darcy Jackson, two, with Wilf the lurcher at Dogstival in Hampshire yesterday. Temperatures across Britain were among the hottest of the year so far (Guardian) – you’ll note, perhaps, there’s about a cigarette paper’s difference between Times and Guardian presentation – if anything the Gruan’s child of the sunshine photographed centre frontpage is a tad posher… Darcy… Wilf the lurcher… Dogstival…!

Battle lines are drawn over the Covid Inquiry – it’s going to drag on forever so we may as well thrash out all the issues first in the media

Lockdown benefits ‘a drop in the bucket compared to the costs’… Draconian measures were a policy failure that saved as few as 1,700 lives in England and Wales in Spring 2020, major study finds (Telegraph) – to which Lockdown enthusiasts will no doubt counter: Well, if it saves just one life we should happily cancel our civil liberties, trash the entire economy, frighten the bejesus out of granny and demoralise the working population.

The Guardian explains what’s going to be the counter argument – the Tores… the Tories… the Tories: Tory austerity left Britain ‘hugely unprepared’ for Covid, say unions… TUC report seeks to put ‘tragic’ impact of cuts on agenda as inquiry begins

    Batting for the other side

I guess that’s why they call it the Blues… Elton celebrates with City (Daily Express) – I thought Elton John famously supported Watford FC, becoming chairman in 1976? Has he come out for Man City?

Who’s Sorry Now was a hit for Connie Francis way back in 1958. More recently in the late 70s Robert Lindsay’s comic character “Wolfie” Smith the self-styled `Che Guevara of Tooting’ in the BBC One sitcom Citizen Smith joked that he was moved on while busking his rendition of Who’s Sorry Now outside the local maternity clinic.

So there was Lockdown – which only now we can question, now there’s this proxy war we’ve gotten ourselves involved in.

    Whose side are they on?

Opec+: Oil prices rise as Saudi Arabia pledges output cuts… The seven hour-long meeting on Sunday of the oil-rich nations, led by Russia, came against a backdrop of falling energy prices. (BBC)

    Who’s winning?

Russia says it thwarted major Ukrainian offensive (BBC)

When will our Proxy War Inquiry begin?

AFTER painstaking research, the Daily Telegraph has exclusively discovered what TCW Defending Freedom readers have been sure of for the past three years, that ā€˜Ministers had ā€œchillingā€ secret unit to curb lockdown dissentā€™.

It announces: ā€˜A secretive government unit worked with social media companies in an attempt to curtail discussion of controversial lockdown policies during the pandemic, the Telegraph can reveal.ā€™

Shock! Perhaps the brave Telegraph could tell us how many of its journalists work on behalf of the CIA/77th Brigade.

Horror! Maybe it can give readers more information about the $3,445,801 donated to the Telegraph by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, reported in 2021.

Shock! Could this be the same newspaper that sacked the worldā€™s greatest cartoonist and Covid truth-teller, Bob Moran, in October 2021?

Horror! Is this the same newspaper that had a constantly updated banner showing the number of alleged Covid deaths?

Shock! Perhaps the intrepid newspaper can reveal how much it received from the Government for terrifying Covid advertising.

I think the time came when I realised there was over egging of the covid scare by the MSM was the item on the BBC news from Clive Myrie reporting from a morgue. It was unnecessary and over the top. I assumed it was because Clive and the BBC hoped to win an award for their ‘serious journalism’. But it quickly disappeared. I think now that the nudge unit or whoever was pushing these stories realised that if they pushed too hard then a large number of the population would see they were being manipulated.

    Key Themes and Recommendations

    1. The ā€˜everydayā€™2 nature of Islamophobic incidents reported to the Police

MPS: The Islamophobic incidents reported to and recorded by the Metropolitan Police Service generally occur as victims go about their daily lives, for example, in the street, in or near shops and restaurants or waiting for or on public transport. They are more likely to involve threats and harassment than violence, although one in five incidents.
involved some degree of violence directed at the victim. The incidents
generally involve conflict situations that become aggravated by
Islamophobic or anti-Muslim words or actions or situations where
perpetrators take immediate advantage of an opportunity that presents
itself. Even incidents that show some degree of premeditation by the
offender mostly involve letters or phone messages rather than direct contact with the victim.
This does not mean, however, that the impact of these ā€˜everydayā€™
incidents on the Muslim communities of London are any less severe or wide ranging. In fact, the ā€˜everydayā€™ nature of such incidents makes
them more difficult for communities to avoid and their cumulative nature takes a large toll not just on individuals but on the communities
    as a whole

9am The R4 Advertise your book show
    BBC does flaky science
10 mins in a woman Theresa MacPhail is spouting hyperbolic rubbish about allergies She got into allergy science after her father died from a reaction to a bee sting.
“air pollution is a huge factor and GLOBAL WARMING is a factor
I don’t know about here in the UK, but in the US we are having the worst pollen season *ever* and that is directly CLIMATE CHANGE”

.. She can’t speak about “ever”, only recently recorded history
She can’t assign that to Man Made Climate change ..pollen mass and makeup varies from year to year naturally
Also when no one is in a forest, no one hears a tree fall
When no one lives in a region, no one notices a peak pollen year.

So I wound back. 6 minutes Theresa starts throwing around rubbish stats ..she seems a flaky science person.

Presenter “The figures are quite shocking and on the rise YOU SAY right now 40% are allergic to at least 1 thing but it’s on the rise”
“Yes they are expecting it to rise to about 50% in the next decade or so”
(doh “or so” is a deceptive PR word like “upto” )
“that means that 30-40% of people will have an allergy to at least one substance
(hang on, what will it be 30, 40 or 50% ???)

Presenter “And that rise it’s real, not due to better diagnoses etc. ? It’s a real phenomenon we are not just becoming more allergic ? ”

Guest “CORRECT .. obviously we are getting better at spotting them which is a factor , but not the only factor”
So her use of “correct” was wrong

continues “just by looking at something as how many people end up in ER for a food allergy or asthmatic attack, we can tell that the allergies are rising”
Nope that is the Fallacy Of All Other things remaining equal
.. they are NOT equal you get more immigrants, more people living closer to hospitals, more awareness of allergies, longer lifespans etc.

“There are many more prescriptions for epi-pens”
Nope that does not prove higher incidence of asthma either

“They’ve been on the rise for about 200 years
SO their is nothing on the medical record that looks like an allergy since 1819 then in UK the literature spoke of Summer Catarrh

Rubbish people recognised much earlier that some people had a reaction to pollen etc. and other didn’t
Roman Emperor Claudiusā€™s son, Brittanicus, who was so allergic to horses that the rash he developed would prevent him from seeing where he was going.

She continues about 1819 “At that time factories were pumping out particulate matter all over the place”
.. close contact to pollution was NOT new .. It impacts women cooking indoors over open rough fires and that had been happening for eons

“We think what happened is that over the last 200 years your immune system had so much more types of things to deal with that they had never seen before”
Hmm to some extent western bodies had not come across New World foods *
“There is the hygiene hypothesis .. yes it could be reactions are clearer cos we are too clean so haven’t acquired resistance”
“then all these new 85,000 CHEMICALS
and air pollution is a huge factor and GLOBAL WARMING is a factor
I don’t know about here in the UK, but in the US we are having the worst pollen season ever and that is directly CLIMATE CHANGE”

No one in my family has any known allergies
In my wider circle I know people who have asthma so carry epi-pens
and one guy who is allergic to penicillin ..how would you know unless you had it ?

    * I don’t have a reaction to papya in processed food
but if I eat a large amount it makes me throw up
I only know that from being in Africa and Brazil
600 years ago no westerner had a reaction to peanuts , cos no westerner had ever encountered them

The woman seemed to be saying UNLESS we all go green and organic we’ll all end up with allergies

Sure a lot of us will end up with arthritis
but that’s probably cos we get to live long
and heavy bodies due to abundance of cheap food.

I see no evince of a US record year on pollen, just the city of Atlanta

Minute 19 Theresa MacPhail is pushing a narrative that up until today air pollution is increasing

The way she speaks indicates she doesn’t understand real world science
Air pollution that counts is air pollution you breathe, so it’s not just what happens on a road.
And it depends on the size and the toxicity.
Most of the pollution you breathe comes from indoor sources
eg anti-perspirant etc., cooking over an indoor fire etc.
And anyways road pollution is a fraction of what it used to be

So she says India has more pollution cos it’s more industrialised
Sure Delhi road pollution is bad
However that doesn’t mean citizens input is worse than ever.
eg most people are cooking on gas , not over dung fires

BTW she has previously admitted she was very wrong about Covid ..and has deleted some of her Covid tweets
