Dover MP Natalie Elphicke told the Commons that the BBC’s “shocking report” contained the “breath-taking” disclosure of free French public bus services being used to ferry migrants from camps to Dunkirk beaches.

      ….

Today the BBC journalists Michael Keohan and Colin Campbell released a shocking report on the channel crossings. It showed people smugglers selling their wares brazenly in the migrant camps and many children living in unsafe and dangerous conditions, as well as—this is breathtaking—a free French public bus service that migrants can use to travel directly from the camps to the Dunkirk departure beaches. Will my right hon. Friend allow a statement on the issue of tackling the small boat crossings and the Government’s response in their work with France?

        Daft but inevitable.

No one sane or qualified is now going to apply to carry out the role sensibly.

It will be the young, senile, activists, diversapunters or plain loopy. Many Labour MPs and ShadCabbers fall under most of these at once. Clearly others too.

Same locally. Our local elections saw a bunch of lunatic ancient Greens, Indies and Limps booted for the waiting room of a Conservative Club care home wing.

Hardly anyone bothered to vote as there was not credible choice.

Media, national or locally democratically bent, still try to get folk excited but often see engagements in single figures.

By coincidence just got this (edited):

          ^^^

We’re pleased to announce that the Made of Truth: BFI Doc Society Short Film Fund is now open. We invite new and emerging storytellers from all parts of the UK to share original and adventurous non-fiction stories that respond to the changing world around us.

Made of Truth is part of BFI NETWORK and uses National Lottery funds to support all forms of short form non-fiction, including personal stories, hybrid work, artist films, essays, observational and social issue projects. The fund also considers VR and immersive projects which are firmly rooted in the non-fiction form.

The fund can support up to 15 individual short documentaries each year with a maximum of £25,000 of grant funding. Films can be between 5-40 minutes in length. We’re interested in new, cinematic and boundary-pushing ideas and encourage applications from projects that take creative leaps and filmmaking that takes risks on talent, form and content. The fund recognises the quality of difference in perspective, the importance of who is telling the story and strong collaboration.

          Who can apply?

          New and Emerging filmmakers
          Producers and/or directors can apply
We welcome new voices to documentary, but applicants should be able to demonstrate a broader creative track record in film or another art form
The director and/or producer must be based in the UK
Applicants must be over 18 and not in full time education

BFI Doc Society is committed to making its funding accessible to all. TAPE Community Film and Music will be providing individually tailored support for applicants with access needs.

          ^^^

I see ‘truth’ and ‘funding’ in any public sector or NGO effort I have a pretty good idea what and who they are seeking, and will award.

Maybe male BBC young reporter rejects without other ‘qualities’ can waste time on this too?

I’ve been wondering how the BBC will handle RFK’s presidential candidacy — they can’t ignore him, they can’t go full Trump-derangement on him but it was always unlikely they’ll give him a fair hearing or acknowledge his early polling which shows cross-party popularity.

Here’s one clue. Having (stupidly) spent some time observing the Verify tactics on social media it looks to me like they’ve got a two-pronged approach:

    1. Hunting down low-hanging fruit, e.g. in the mass of Twitter posts, finding someone who’s posted an inaccurate or spoof image, pointing it out and claiming this as a tremendous ‘gotcha’ moment
    2. Generalised snarky, mealy mouthed comments that avoid any substantive criticisms which would require more intellectual capability

It doesn’t bode well that the future of epistemic governance could be in the hands of stroppy teenagers that the BBC are employing by the bucketload.

Swedish academic Maria Engström has discovered that at its worst there is a disturbing narrative among Russian ideologues that links Russia’s nuclear arsenal and Russian Orthodoxy, known as “Atomic Orthodoxy”, as the “sword and shield” against the Antichrist—the US and NATO. We are the Antichrist. The sword and the shield are also the symbols of Putin’s old KGB and now the FSB. We made the mistake of dismissing fringe Russian philosophers as neo-fascist nutjobs in the 1990s. Given what has happened since, it is unwise that we do the same again. In China, party document No. 9 lays out quite clearly that the Communist party seeks a dominant position of its socialism over western capitalism. The language of win-win is for an external audience, for us. The language domestically is to win and to dominate, and again we should be under no illusion about that.

I read somewhere that the USA believe war with China is inevitable which IMHO is what Ukraine is all about – to remove Russia as their powerful Ally and increase the power of NATO and the EU ready for the kick off.

More entirely relevant but inconvenient facts not reported by the BBC.

And here’s how the far-left ‘Independent’ report it:

‘Black people have highest rate of STIs in Britain. Not enough is being done to change that.’

It’s never their fault according to these people is it ?. All minorities have to be ‘victims’.

“According to letters spanning a period of 20 years, Savile, the former Top of the Pops host, appeared to take on a role as unofficial adviser to the future king. Details of the correspondence are revealed in a new Netflix documentary, Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story. The director, Rowan Deacon, gained access to dozens of letters in which the prince regularly sought guidance from the presenter.”

After Savile’s death in 2011, aged 84, the police investigated about 500 allegations of abuse, taking place from 1955 to 2009, the vast majority from victims aged under 18.

Terry Wogan was asked by someone from the MSM when the BBC would do something about him.

He replied (trying to defend the BBC) ‘That’s your job isn’t it ?’

That’s how utterly corrupt the BBC and the media are in this country. They all knew.

Seventh Annual Report of the Chair of the Committee of Public Accounts

“We have continued to monitor the money spent on Covid-19 although with increasing frustration that much of the money lost through fraud is unlikely to be recovered.”

    https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm5803/cmselect/cmpubacc/1055/report.html

In November 2022, the Committee returned to examine these schemes, which cost £97 billion.

HMRC is forecasting that it will recover only a quarter (£1.1 billion) of the losses.

    Possibly good news.

There is no way the BBc can cite her and be credible.

Many, many orders of magnitude worse than anything Boris did. This woman directly endangered lives and for all we know, any number died as a result of what she knowingly did.

But just a small sub-pane from the BBC and they’ve kept very quiet about her all along. Where are all the activists who claim their parents/relatives died while they were not allowed to see them for this woman ?. She REALLY might have killed them (though of course most were all lying because they have no conscience and no shame).

This story will disappear very quickly from the front page and the double-standards of the BBC and the Lefty activists go up another notch.

Just out of interest, I was looking at London News, partly to find out what a London Mayoral candidate was up to and also to see what Mayor Kahane was now saying about his ULEZ scheme. I find Manchester and Birmingham and Bucks, Herts & Bedfordshire also now count as London. Watch out Tynesiders! Mayor Kahane is coming to get you!

    ThoughtCrime.jpg

A thoughtcrime is an Orwellian neologism used to describe an illegal thought. The term was popularized in the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell, first published in 1949, wherein thoughtcrime is the criminal act of holding unspoken beliefs or doubts that oppose or question Ingsoc, the ruling party.
