    Temperature Watch – Sarah Keith-Lucas at work

    BBC R4 forecast before 7 a.m. News had Sarah’s words of wisdom including “temperatures below the seasonal norm” and a 6 degree spread for one part of the UK (cannot now remember which) so it is ‘Temperaturegate’ all over again.

    @yogafan007 tweets about Countryfile
    @bbc Pushing crappy (cold) heat pumps. Some of the young people flogging them are waffling and mumbling about climate change but don’t seem to have a clue what they are talking about
    . Also trying to sell useless insulation – leading to damp homes.
    Sod off. #countryfile #scam

      “People working the land are facing some of their greatest challenges: adopting new farming systems, planting trees; attempting zero carbon emissions; tackling climate change; improving biodiversity.
      Will there be enough skilled hands and brains to cope?”

      Stew, quite right. If you are a millionaire, like a friend of a friend of mine, and can commission a modern, right up to the minute & well-insulated, house to be built on land that you own, then a heat pump or two might provide sufficient heat for a state-of-the-art home.
