    Bending Over Against Pinkwashing

    Dear Rube,

Last month I helped organise a protest with DJs and drag performers outside the British LGBT awards and I’d like to tell you why…

A few weeks ago we helped organise a demonstration outside the British LGBT awards to protest their sponsorship by polluting fossil fuel companies and the banks that fund them.

We teamed up with Fossil Free Pride, Tipping Point and Queer House Party to co-host an alternative awards ceremony outside the official LGBT awards. Drag performers and representatives of communities impacted by the fossil fuel industry handed out categories like “Biggest funder of climate breakdown” and “biggest violator of worker’s rights” — because we wanted to give the sponsors the credit they truly deserved.

We managed to ramp up the pressure so much that nominees dropped out of the official ceremony before it took place. The awards organisation even issued a statement saying they were rethinking their current sponsorship model and BP and Shell were removed from the sponsors page!

We’ll be keeping an eye on these awards during the coming months to make sure they’re serious about their commitment. In the meantime we’re asking you to donate to help us carry on our work. Donations — however big or small — help us put time and energy into working with other groups across all our campaigns to put on actions and get huge wins like this!

June was Pride month and the awards have shown that for many companies it was also Pinkwashing month! By now you might know what greenwashing is: when companies run advertising campaigns or sponsor arts and cultural institutions to try and spin themselves as environmentally friendly and hide their climate wrecking credentials. Pinkwashing is similar — when the same big companies try and affiliate themselves with the queer community to soften their image.

At the awards we read out statements from indigenous queer people around the world. My friend and colleague, Joseph from the Pacific Climate Warriors, put it perfectly when he said:

“In the Pacific it is our Queer and Trans people who carry the burden of the climate crisis the most. Many people blame us for the climate crisis and in the aftermath of disaster our communities are always at heightened risks of violence towards us. In the face of this, we still stand up to lead and fight for our communities and islands, no matter what their opinion of us is. We carry that burden like we know our Queer and Trans family all over the world do too.
Solidarity with Queer and Trans people on the frontlines of the climate crisis is also making a commitment to do everything you can to keep us on a path away to below 1.5 degrees of warming and avert the most catastrophic effects of climate change.

Fossil fuel companies and financial institutions like HSBC have the capacity to make an immense contribution to the protection of the livelihoods of Queer and Trans people everywhere… but they don’t! Sponsoring an awards for LGBT people does not negate the damage done to us, our homes and our islands by your sponsorship and investment in fossil fuels.”

As a queer and trans person, I’m a firm believer that all our fights are connected and at 350.org we won’t ever stand for climate-wrecking companies trying to co-opt queer liberation.

Pride month might be over for now but with a worsening climate crisis and with more frequent attacks on queer and trans people in the UK and overseas, our collective organising continues.

Together we are powerful and solidarity always wins.

Tommy and the 350 UK team

Alison Pearson in the DT today laments the so called ‘Conservative Party ‘ which hopefully will get slaughtered in 3 bi elections tomorrow – I know it’s very unlikely that they’ll lose their deposits – but I really hope they do .

We can then watch a torrent of blue labour MPs announcing they are ‘standing down ‘ next year when blue labour is truly slaughtered as conservative voters refuse to vote for a socialist party pretending to be blue …..

The BBC Labour Party will be over the moon and will give us an opportunity – Friday – to see their true colours as I think they’ll lose any attempt at pretend balance ….

Nothing illustrates how red the Tories have become than the war on Landlords. OK, everyone hates Landlords and having to pay rent but the anti Landlord Tory ideology seems to have accelerated in earnest with George Osborn. Since Osborn the attack has accelerated culminating in disallowing mortgage interest as a cost of business. I’m unaffected but have wondered if it would be considered to be an offence against human rights to be subject to manifestly unfair taxation. I’m unsure why the Tories have ganged up on Landlords. It won’t increase the housing supply, it might increase the number of dilapidated properties as Landlords bow out of the game. I think it’s likely that left wing activists in the Treasury have sold the idea to weak Chancellors.

The latest whizzy scheme will increase the mandatory EPC levels for properties to be let out. The cost of upgrading will be massive. Anyone want to be a Landlord?

Terrorism from the BBC and the Government using ‘System 1 Thinking’ Brainwashing techniques:

The Government uses the Behavioural Insights Team (a.k.a. the Nudge Unit) – spun out of the Cabinet Office, and now working for many large corporates, global institutions and national governments – is teaming up with the BBC and other broadcasters to drive messages to brainwash the public to fear climate change. Terrorising people into obeying often idiotic rules. A report by the BIT in collaboration with Sky TV called ‘The Power of TV: Nudging Viewers to Decarbonise their Lifestyles’ says that “behavioural change on climate can be driven by TV”… “we must shift the behaviour of millions of people to deliver our collective Net Zero goals”. The BBC and the government is plotting to manipulate the public into reaching the collective goals of the elite, using secret service ‘mind control’ and terror based ‘System 1 Thinking’ brainwashing techniques. After the disastrous impact of its Covid propaganda on the nation’s mental and physical health, the Nudge Unit is to double down on its mission to terrorise the British people, using sly tricks to attack human weakness and to increase mental illness for the benefit of the rich global elite. BBC weather maps from diabolical reds, to bruised purples and black, are suggested by the Nudge Unit: https://dailysceptic.org/2023/07/19/first-it-was-covid-now-were-being-scared-into-submission-over-the-weather/

The BBC went all impartial this morning.

The surprise big reduction in inflation was met on BBC Breakfast TV with a flat, emotionless, factual report.

Strangely, this has not been the case during the many months of inflation increases, where we have had constant sentimental sob stories and Fiona Bruce shaking her head.

    What a contrast.

Now I don’t know how everyone else sees this but to me it sounds like exactly the sort of thing that a security agency would keep very quiet about for fear of both repercussions and exposing secret information to the Russians.

Therefore I can only see it has a pretty dumb PR exercise for a Security agency to embark on.

    STARTS
The BBC’s Justin Rowlatt and his editors have been accused of hypocrisy after he jetted off to Spain to report on the current heatwave and its links to the climate crisis.

Rowlatt, the corporation’s climate editor, flew to Alicante to report on the record temperatures over the European mainland, blaming the phenomenon on global warming.

In a live report on Tuesday morning Rowlatt stated: “I’m on the beach at Alicante and it’s 27C now, and as you can see dawn is just rising. Even hotter inland, as you can see, they had temperatures in the 30s overnight, inland in Spain and they’re expecting temperatures to peak well into the 40s.

“We’re getting the blast of the heat today in Spain, it’s going to go across into Italy, it’s already very hot in Italy but it’s going to get hotter there, and finally it will end in Greece. All accentuated, exaggerated by the effects of climate change.”

Shortly after, Rowlatt tweeted that mankind was clearly to blame, citing experts, stating: “It is getting very hot in southern Europe and it is going to get even hotter. These kinds of temperatures would be vanishingly unlikely without man-made climate change, says [Dr Friederike Otto] and other climate scientists.”

    Why fly to Spain?
But critics queried why Rowlatt flew to Spain to report on the hot weather.

Craig Mackinlay, the Conservative MP for South Thanet, said: “There’s something rather rich about Justin Rowlatt using a fuel-guzzling aircraft to find out what a phone call would have told him. It follows the pattern of the great and the good telling us about the evils of climate change while jetting around the world.

“High temperatures are common in summer and doubtless everything will be back to normal soon.”

Several angry BBC viewers agreed that Rowlatt was contributing to global warming by flying to Spain in order to produce a report he could have presented in the studio.

Andy Mich tweeted: “Did the BBC fly you over to southern Spain Justin? If the climate crisis is as serious as you say and I’m not disputing that it isn’t, wouldn’t it make more sense and be a better look if you stayed at home?”

Other viewers pointed out that the BBC’s Spain-based correspondents could have presented the segment without the need for Rowlatt to fly anywhere.

Rob Morgan wrote on Twitter: “Was it necessary to travel to Spain when the BBC already has reporters there.”

Rowlatt, the BBC’s first specially appointed climate editor, gave up flying for a year in 2006 to reduce his family’s carbon footprint.

The broadcaster has made no secret of his passion for the subject and his belief in the impact climate change could have on mankind.

In November 2021 he presented a special edition of BBC Panorama called Wild Weather: Our World Under Threat, in which he told viewers: “The world is getting warmer and our weather is getting ever more unpredictable and dangerous. The death toll is rising around the world and the forecast is that worse is to come.”

But the following May the BBC’s Executive Complaints Unit (ECU) upheld criticism of two comments made in the programme.

The unit found there was no statistical basis for the claim that the death toll from natural disasters is rising.

The ECU also ruled that Rowlatt’s claim that southern Madagascar was “on the brink of the world’s first climate-induced famine” was incorrect, as other factors were involved.

    Family affair
Critics have pointed out that climate activism appears to be a family affair for Rowlatt.

His wife, Bee, a former producer for the BBC World Service, has taken part in Extinction Rebellion protests and supported a “justice” fund that gave protesters access to legal advice after they were charged.

Rowlatt’s sister Cordelia, who helps run a small fruit and vegetable farm in Frome, Somerset, was fined for taking part in one of Insulate Britain’s M25 blockades in 2021.

Earlier this year, defending his reporting, Rowlatt told the Columbia Journalism Review: “It’s our job in the media to report the facts, impartially and without bias. And there are some inescapable and very grim truths about the trajectory the world is on, in terms of our emissions, which continue to grow.”

The BBC, which has a number of correspondents it can call on in Spain and a Spanish language unit based in London, refused to confirm whether Rowlatt had taken a flight to Alicante for his dispatch.

A BBC spokesman said: “The extreme heat millions of people are experiencing in several parts of the world is a significant story relating to climate change, and our journalists are providing additional insight and analysis on the ground from some of the hardest hit regions.”ENDS

No UK media said he died of another disease
but basically he was a fat kid in hospital with breathing difficulties
three days after testing positive for coronavirus.
But there’s a big lineSenior Coroner Andrew Harris said: “I am satisfied that he (Ismail) would not have died when he did were it not for the tube misplacement.”
“Hours before Ismail’s death, an endotracheal tube (ET) used to help patients breathe was found to be in the wrong position and a decision was made by a consultant in paediatric intensive care to leave it and monitor him.

Despite the coroners words all UK media use the same lines from somewhere else
“he died of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), caused by COVID-19 pneumonia ”
they then go back to directly quoting the coroner
“misplaced ET” and “high BMI” should be recorded under ARDS and Covid-9 pneumonia on Ismail’s death certificate.

Keir Starmer wants to create employment by covering the UK in ‘Green’ windmills which is often referred to as ‘free-energy’ but ONLY – if you ignore ALL THE OTHER FACTORS. The fact that Trees must be cut down to make the Green wind, then i wonder how popular that single item would be on the BBC. You know on Countryfile perhaps with Chris Packham?

Ignore (BBC) – The fact that Birds in flight are routinely killed by the blades (a pile at the base of every one).

The HUGE cost of Electric Pylons cross-crossing all open land, that are both ugly and expensive. The fact that the Scottish Wind farms rely on English subsidy to keep going (even when there is no wind, they get PAID THE SAME RATE! Astonishing, this is the ‘Green deal’!!

Its incredible how Green this all is, when Labour on (predicted) GENERAL election will create a HUGE increase in Windmills (despite the real Science predicting we do not have enough land to power electric cars when you plan to ABOLISH ALL FOSSIL fuels and Make Dale Vance and energy mogul billioniare (He is a Labour contributor of a very high donation). Therefore he predicts all other cheap and practical fuels will be banned and rely on Wind power alone).UK electricity is now the highest in the world and it is predicted to triple if and when ‘road pricing’ and ‘smart meters’ dictate how far you will be allowed to travel. Not that far if you also agree to a 15 minute city. All the Car taxes (electric cars are largely exempt at the moment). The UK tax on Petrol is over 70% and as for Diesel and other for Ships and heating etc. All of it will be loaded onto your personal cost. At the same time, it can be linked to your Carbon Emissions (so you can smugly claim on the BBC are saving the planet) at the same time as destroying it.

The BBC really do peddle lies for the corporate globalists. Only this week Telegraph reported that the actual cost of a EV is far more damaging due to the way its made and its relatively short life. Its far more CO2 for example and is toxic in parts and with little to recycle. In fact a ban to recycle will be the norm in the EU as they want a car to last no longer than 4 years.

And Scotland may live to regret covering their pristine landscape with Windmills, even if it is paid for entirely by the English ‘desperate’ to pay anything for wind power.

SNP admits to felling 16 million trees to develop wind farms

‘Almost 16 million trees have been chopped down on publicly owned land in Scotland to make way for wind farms, an SNP minister had admitted amid a major drive to erect more turbines.

It emerged earlier this year that some developers want to erect turbines up to 850 feet tall, the equivalent of more than 60 double decker buses.

“Warmth kills life” BBC propaganda rubbish, from Chris Packham. Earth 1/5. Inferno: Chris Packham insists that carbon dioxide induced Global Warming caused the Permian-Triassic extinction 250 million years ago. But researchers from the University of Geneva (UNIGE), Switzerland, working alongside the University of Zurich, discovered that this extinction took place during a short ice age which preceded the global climate warming. Teams of researchers led by Professor Urs Schaltegger from the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Science of the UNIGE and by Hugo Bucher, from the University of Zürich, have been working on absolute dating for many years. They work on determining the age of minerals in volcanic ash, which establishes a precise and detailed chronology of Earth’s climate evolution. They became interested in the Permian-Triassic boundary during which one of the greatest mass extinction events ever, took place, responsible for the loss of 95% of marine species: https://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2017/03/07/permian-triassic-boundary-extinction-was-due-to-ice-age-cold-not-global-warming-as-claimed-by-alarmists/

TOADY Watch #1 – Fliss is obviously ignorant

of the UK unemployment figures. Felicity is the Business Editors third or fourth Deputy. The BBC overmanned and over-wimmined? I could not possibly comment. Fliss was talking to a woman, sorry forgotten name, who was Chair or Chief Exec of the Nosepickers Hop Growers and Apples & Pears (not rhyming slang) Association. This wimmin claimed it was a shortage of labour in the UK that is the big problem along with energy costs, both factors keeping food and drink prices high.

Fliss apparently did not know the UK unemployment rate and did not challenge the woman on her claim that the UK had full employment and that instead the members of the Hop Growers and Apples & Pears Association are possibly paying below market rates for their employees. The FT analyses exclusive data on the pipeline of women coming up through the ranks of business

NatWest boss under pressure over Farage bank scandal… Dame Alison Rose should “take responsibility” after documents showed Mr Farage was targeted by Coutts – a subsidiary of NatWest (Telegraph)

A picture is worth a thousand words – a saying attributed, oddly enought, to Napoleon Bonaparte – Mr AsI enjoys a good satirical cartoon which nine-times-out-of-ten knocks a polemic editorial into a cocked hat – or something similar to the type of hat worn by Boney

So we welcome the contribution by Pugh promoted to the frontpage of the Mail today featuring a bemused-looking chap at an ATM having had his plastic card rejected and reading the onscreen message from his bank: “Sorry. Incorrect political views. Try again”

“The Great Reset”. Surely not long now. “The Great Reset” – The time at which the plethora of ‘Microsoft Updates’ on your PC are activated to serve their intended purpose: To spy on all of your electronic actions and alert Microsoft if any untoward actions take place, your copy letters, emails, spreadsheets, sites you have visited and the details of any contribution you made and when/why. No place to hide. You’ve been increasingly & unwittingly sharing your PC with Microsoft for years. All nicely concealed by the look of, “Options” but just for a limited time – see below.

If you look at the thousands upon thousands of so-called updates you have unwittingly installed “Automatic Updates” on your PC, you will see the problem. They affect all and every aspect of the use of your PC. ‘Remove them’ I hear you say that’s a simple operation. If you’ve looked into this, you quickly realise that you cannot ‘block off’ a series/batch of updates to uninstall in bulk. Only way is to uninstall one at a time. Is there a reason for this which will take, literally months to uninstall? I think so. By the time the day arrives, Microsoft will, hopefully for them/Bill Gates/WEF have the full ‘Update’ repertoire installed. Happy days (for them – all knowing all seeing). The first need for AI to sift quickly and identify…….But identify what?

You cannot stop the updates. There is no choice. You may have a chance if you’ve got Windows 10 Professional version but not the ‘Home’ version. I’ve even tried to prevent updates from being downloaded – I thought, simply to set the update time during 2200 – 0500 when I know the router and machine is off. That triggers an annoying reminder to reboot your machine every few minutes and, what I found, is that whether you like it or not, the ‘Updates’ at some point in time, are programmed to reboot your PC without your involvement. Yes, it seems to provide you with the look of an, ‘option’ for a limited period. Then it takes over and reboots anyway. Just imagine the appropriate haunting Third Reich voice of Klaus Schwab in the background: “You vill take the updates, just open your mouth a little wider – just a little scratch”.

Why and why and more why………… If you have a settled mind, ponder on that one …………..

Ahmadis suffer vicious persecution around the world. The main source of fuel for that persecution is in Pakistan, but what happens in Pakistan does not stay in Pakistan.

I know that from my experience in the Yorkshire market town of Batley. In August 1985, when I was 11 years old, my parents organised an inter-faith meeting in the town hall. It was interrupted and disturbed when, according to West Yorkshire police,

more than 1,000 extremists, led by Pakistani hate preachers funded by the Pakistani state, were bused in from around the country.

The mob brutally attacked my English mother and my father, a dermatologist; my eldest brother and I; and a Welsh Ahmadi schoolteacher who was with us. My first cousin, a GP, was by chance driving through the market town that day. He saw the mob and saw his family and friends being attacked, so he stopped. He was recognised, pulled from his vehicle and savagely beaten up.

      1. Thou shalt not have strange Gods before me.
This Commandment tells believers that God should be the most important thing that they believe in. Some people take this to mean that God is the only “real” God, but it can also be understood as meaning that faith is more important than anything else. For example, it might mean that people shouldn’t hold things like wealth or possessions above their faith.
