Ah, Radio 4 and the BBC. Let me tell you about me and the BBC.

For 40 years I woke every morning to the UK theme and listened to my betters telling me of the latest happenings in a world with an authority I respected, and I believed every word.

I was educated by amazing programmes mid-morning. I particularly remember a 30-minute programme on the semi-colon. Fascinating.

Lunchtime brought me news and consumer programmes to inform and advise.

Evening early evening news brought me up-to-date with the days events and led into the amazing week-day 6.30 comedies which had me in tears.

Bedtime, news, current affairs and Sailing By had me nodding off feeling entertained and informed, ready for the next day.

Then, one day, the next day had me, in my car, listening to a lunchtime programme which changed my life. An African lady had applied for a job at a small company which involved a great deal of work with computers and telephones and customer interaction. Unfortunately, she spoke poor English, knew nothing of computers and did not understand the telephone system required for the work. She did not, unsurprisingly, get the job. So, she contacted some “charity” to complain, and a spokeswoman was invited to appear on this consumer programme. “What the employer should have done,” this woman demanded, “was to employ a competent person (the women who actually got the job) on a temporary basis to teach this lady how to do the work, then the (presumably white English) person could be sacked and this person of colour takes over”. Ridiculous of course, what she meant was that a small business was supposed to incur a cost of some £25,000 without any guarantee that the applicant could even do the job, just so an SWJ could feel better. My Damascene moment was that the interviewer did not, at any point, challenge the absurdity of this scenario.

So I began to listen more critically to Radio 4. I quickly noted that Conservative politicians were challenged and interrupted far more than Labour or Liberal (I won’t use LibDem). One mid-day interview I listened to with Jeremy Corben had him being asked a question. The very next words spoken by the interviewer were “Thank you, Mr Corbyn”.

I hear “comedy” current affairs programmes making jokes about Tories but not, despite the open goals of Corbyn, Abbott, Lammy et al, the Labour party or Liberals. Jeremy Hardy even publicly stated he would never joke about socialism and still kept his job. Very “balanced” BBC!

The final straw for me was one Sunday morning on my way to golf I had on the Sunday programme.

“What”, asked a vox pop, “do you think of when you hear the word Devil?”

    The very first answer?

    “Margaret Thatcher”

    Radio 4’s Religious Programme FFS!

I switched off my radio (and submitted a formal complaint – rejected) and have never, after forty years, listened to Radio 4 since.

    Any comments Maxi?

I can remember Frank Muir and the purring voice he had. John Le Mesurier, Alan Coren, Barry Crier (who I met on a few occasions), Kenneth Williams, and many others. Most of them were Left wing liberals but they never allowed that to intrude into their professional peformances.
I count myself priveledged to have experienced those days.

Popeye, when I was a very little girl, I used to sometimes get up early and listened to Handel’s Water Music as the Home Service started. I think it was 6.30 am. We then had the Today programme with Monty Modlin doing the funny interludes.

I think I started to question the impartiality of Radio 4 at the end of John Major’s premiership. I listened as the attack dogs on the Today programme stopped ministers uttering a single word in response to their loaded questions. I had stupidly assumed that when Blair’s government got in, they would get the same treatment. Instead not only did they get the soft treatment, Labour ministers would be called by their first names as they were thanked for coming in. News at 7am on Radio 4 started every morning with, ‘Today the Labour government will ………’. Every ruddy day those were the opening words, until we switched stations on the radio alarm.

I now have friends who ask if I have seen X on the tv or Y on the radio. If it is the BBC or ITV the answer is certainly not, as we so rarely access the major channels.

For me, it was the biased Today programme treatment of Donald Trump which was the last straw. I stopped listening to it, and everything else on Radio 4 and have not missed it at all. They could cancel Radio 4 now and I would not care, whereas once I listened for hours a day. The BBC is broken and cannot be fixed.

For me, the end of the BBC specifically was the Brexit coverage. News programs where they only interviewed Remoaners, commentary replaced reportage. There was the ridiculous Question time fully loaded with Remoaner panels and loudmouth audiences, biased questions. I can’t recall a single BBC ‘reporter’, ‘Journalist’ whether on TV or radio that were not obviously anti Brexit.

    But not any advert.
A Transport for London advert, about how wonderful they are. Elizabeth Line, investments, frozen fares.

Could this be anything to do with the re-election of Saddick Khan, the Emir of Londonistan. A party political broadcast masquerading as advertising.

Third world city. Third rate Mayor. Third world corruption.

Londonistan definitely a third world city. The elizabeth line is even worse.

I was intending a trip including taking the brand new elizabeth line from Farringdon to Southall with a bike. At Farringdon the EL was closed so two tubes to Paddington, then a massive walk carrying a bike to Paddington EL then take a rickety EL train to Southall. All the time the train dished out acoustic abuse designed to provoke fear and anxiety – see it say it sorted blah blah blah.

The BBC are simply enacting the globalist plan. This works by first making any non-UK citizen automatically “Oppressed” by the nasty British who need dealing with.

The idea is to break loyalty and love of Country and to replace it with a global acceptance of being where you will no longer be able to claim any rights to your homeland by simply being a citizen.

This works fine for the globe-trotting elite who live outside normal circles but means you become a non-person otherwise.

The globalists are using extreme race-baiting to achieve this at every level and the BBC are willing accomplices, especially as the mix of nationalities in their staff changes from British to mongrel…

As far as the BBC are concerned if you don’t live in Outer London and don’t have the Metro-Lib Globalist profile you are a bumpkin and will be ignored, disenfranchised as quickly as they can do it.

If they could get away with it they would probably instigate gas chambers to get rid of the undesirables.

This is indeed the plan. Ideally, they want to segregate the country into areas where there are the more compliant and those who will resist. If you haven’t seen it, look up ‘Gray State trailer’ on YouTube. This trailer was produced 10 years ago and shows the US descending into civil war as those with guns are rounded up by the globalists. You may notice some of the things depicted in the film are uncannily similar to what we experienced during the Covaids era – how on earth did they know about this the naive may ask? The director, David Crowley killed his wife and child (as you do) and the film was never made. Of course, Richard D. Hall may have pointed out this was extremely convenient for those in power.

Call the Midwife used to be based on the books by a real person who had been a midwife in Poplar in the 1950s. But the books have been adapted now, and so the new series are based on the liberal wet dreams of 21st century right on lefties, projecting their PC attitudes on to a period they know nothing about.

The adaptations of Father Brown are similar. I refuse to watch them, but a couple of times recently I have turned the TV on when the programme was on, and I wondered how long it would be before I saw a black character. Both times it was under five seconds!

Father Brown is meant to be set in an English village in the 1950s, yet apparently black people were common there then. However the National Trust tells us that the contemporary English countryside is racist and colonialist. It seems to have gone backward in the last 70 years!

I cannot stand these unhistorical attempts to brainwash us into believing the past is something it was not. I was brought up in Manchester in the 1960s and until I was about five I had never seen a black person. But who am I to believe, the BBC or my lying eyes?

Hilarious nonsense…..Nighal has spoken….the man who said being around white people made him mentally ill….

‘A BBC star has rejected recent claims that the countryside is a ‘racist, colonial’ space for white people.

Radio 5 presenter Nihal Arthanayake has insisted the countryside is for everyone – not just white people.

The British-Asian broadcaster has said social media trolls have created the ‘illusion’ that the countryside was not welcoming to ethnic minority visitors.’

erm…really? social media trolls are to blame for the impression that the countryside is racist?

Noooooo….one…he’s responding to a barking claim by many official, establishment bodies….two…it’s the very same racist, divisive and dangerous narrative that the BBC itself peddles.

Nighal’s very own programme on R2 is just a swamp of anti-white, anti-British rhetoric telling Bames that they are unwelcome here…indeed he labelled Britain as ‘more nasty and racist’ after Brexit…and by ‘Britain’ he meant white people of course.

It is people like him, his BBC chums and the pious, white-guilt ridden grovellers and self-flagellaters in so many NGOs and other bodies who troll Britain with their toxic lies about race.

    Charles Moore in the Telegraph:

‘As is well set out in Rupert Darwall’s new short book, The Folly of Climate Leadership (RealClear Foundation), the increasing costs have been relentless. They are particularly high here because of what Darwall calls Britain’s “climate jingoism” – our vainglorious desire to get ahead in what successive governments have decided is a race to net zero.

Our heroic example did not inspire others. Between 2008 and 2019, our CO2 fossil-fuel emissions fell by 33 per cent, but those from the rest of the world rose by 16 per cent, wiping out in 140 days, Darwall calculates, the reductions we achieved over 11 years.

There is a high price for setting this pace: by 2020, our citizens were paying about 75 per cent more for their electricity than were Americans. Darwall points out that, from 2008-22, Britain has experienced its lowest underlying growth rate since the 18th century.

If you survey this history, two thoughts arise. One is the uniformity of error across the political spectrum. How was it that most people in all main parties thought they had to think the same things about the complicated and uncertain subject of climate change? Why did they unquestioningly accept ideas like the uniformity of “the science”, the concept of “emergency” in relation to policy, or the ability of governments, rather than businesses and consumers, to make the most efficient choices?’

I can tell you exactly how they were able to unquestioningly adopt the same, uniform, policies on climate….the BBC.

The BBC utterly failed in its duty to hold power to account…because it too held the very same beliefs, if not being even more zealous than the grandstanding, virtue-signalling politicians. It didn’t question or challenge, instead it berated them for not doing more, for not going faster, for not being more radical and extreme. The BBC that is a mouthpiece for the eco-terrorists and green extremism whether scientists or politicians, the BBC that hounded and demonised anyone who dared to ask questions, that silenced and cancelled anyone who failed to subjugate themselves to the orthodoxy, that filled its programmes with green propaganda and visions of climate apocalypse to terrify the children in order to recruit them to the crusade…and in turn turning them mad as they gave up hope and felt life wasn’t worth living….the BBC destroying a generation’s mental health….the BBC forcing the government to close schools and isolate children in their lockdown prisons didn’t help either.

The BBC is destroying our culture, our way of life and our country.

Goodness me – another off-the-scale biased article from the BBC about Biden.

Here they have gone round any Democrats who want to be named and let them tell us all how sharp sleepy Joe still is.

But the most outrageous part of the whole article is this:

‘Experts have noted that polling suggests Mr Trump does not face as much criticism from voters about his age, despite having similar gaffes as Mr Biden on the campaign trail.’

What experts are those then BBC ?.

If Biden is the candidate he will lose heavily to Trump. If he resigns before the election and Harris becomes President and therefore almost certainly the candidate , she will also lose heavily to Trump.
I suspect that even massive vote rigging will not be enough to stop Trump against either of these two candidates.

Therefore the only way the Dems have of preventing a Trump second term is to prevent him being on the ballot, by lawfare or warfare, or find another candidate who requires less vote rigging to be declared the winner.

The stakes are very high. Perhaps a hundred or more very powerful people in the US deep state know that if Trump wins they are going to jail for a long time. Worse the whole web of corruption within the deep state will be exposed and the public will require it to be dismantled. The entire neo liberal hyperglobalist plan will be dismantled within the US and severely set back globally. Therefore they will do whatever it takes to stop Trump or if he does win to disrupt his Presidency. Civil war is on the cards.

It is beyond doubt that Hamas have commited just about every war-crime in the book not to mention how many ‘international laws’ that covers.

So isn’t it just amazing that the BBC are fully prepared to give Hamas full-status as the official government of Gaza when it comes to reporting how many people have been killed – but never accuse them of doing anything wrong themselves.

How many ‘international laws’ has Hamas broken BBC (and your ‘experts’) ?. Why do you NEVER tell us about those ?.

You won’t even call them terrorists FFS. The BBC have completely stopped reminding us of that. Why has everybody gone quiet about it ?.

Proving yet again that for the Left, it’s only wrong when people they don’t like do it.

The reason being that any investigation and claim, no matter how convincing the evidence , will be hotly contested by the other side and this will be off putting to neutrals who don’t want to rerun 2020 but to have a President who can deal with 2025. It will be vote loser.

The time to investigate the deep state , election rigging etc etc is when Trump and his team are in the White House and this time round have their hands firmly on the levers of power. They should then go all out to expose every crime committed by the deep state over the past ten years and have as many of the bad actors imprisoned as possible.

Tucker Carlson: Putin takes charge as TV host gives free rein to Kremlin… Vladimir Putin lectured, joked and occasionally snarled – but not at his host… Putin was fully in charge of this encounter and for large parts of it his interviewer barely got a word in… Putin wrote a long essay before the war that denied Ukraine’s existence as a sovereign state. He now appears to have learned it by heart. (BBC)

    Meanwhile in British politics…

Year of the Rachel… Reeves’ influence growing – after she triumphs in Labour battle of wills (‘i’)

Rishi Sunak earned £2.2m last year, tax records show (BBC)

And despite their acknowledgement of the awkward political optics – given the cost of living crisis – one detects a certain admiring tone in this FT headline: Sunak makes £1.8mn capital gains as he struggles to engage hard-up voters

A piece in the telegraph by Charles Moore gives some reason why Britain is failing – it’s the contribution of green crap hysteria . We are – as an example – paying 75% more for electricity than Americans do –
Caused by a failure of all politicians to plan power stations and an insane net zero mantra – which no other country follows – some has described it as ‘ green jjingoism ‘ – that Britain can make a difference if the green crap theory is true ( it’s a lie ) ….

So add the green crap subsidies and punishments to the economy on top of interest rates and welfare and inflation and you’ve got a crushed failing economy where no one can be bother to work because of the handouts – and businesses so to nicer friendlier economies .
I dread what is going to happen here ….

@Gerdlai I owe you an apology for replying to you in the way I did. Something about your comment annoyed me, and I answered without reflecting properly—always a mistake. And I’m sure if we do bump into each other we’ll have a perfectly friendly conversation.

BBC senior editors do get annoyed a lot. And maybe should reflect a lot more. Especially when overseeing febrile zone story lines. Balance, too, would be helpful.

Rape by deception and institutional capture by extremist groups….should be big news no? Trans given secret pass to deceive sexual partners as to their real gender.

I imagine that this will be like the story about charities and NGOs proclaiming the countryside is a racist construct designed to exclude Blacks….why did the BBC not report this despite it being plastered across just about every other media outlet? Could it be that they didn’t want to give ammunition to critics of the madness…bury the story, don’t give it any oxygen and it will eventually go away…same with this trans rape story….they don’t want negative stories about Trans issues so they will bury the story and ignore it….the calculation being the story is only being seen by people who are already critical of Trans extremism thus they don’t matter…but others, who might be swayed to the critical side by such reports, can be kept from the information and thus the BBC makes up their mind for them by default by suppressing the report.

I await the BBC outraged exposé…not there so far.

What’s hilarious is that Henry did this perhaps recognising an issue….

Some weeks ago I posted a message on this forum setting out what one could expect from a Labour government regarding taxes. I said “The Life-Time Allowance will be re-introduced but there will be exemptions for public sector workers justified as ‘helping our hard working NHS employees’ but in practice applied to all government employees”.

As I predicted, it is now reported that Ms Reeves is considering how to ‘ensure public sector leaders are not affected when she re-introduces a cap on the amount people can pay free of tax into a pension’.

In the past she said Labour would look at a special scheme for doctors but it is reported that the party is now looking at widening the exemption after heavy lobbying from other senior public sector workers. Those covered by the exemption could include head teachers, air traffic controllers and civil servants.

If implemented, this move would be blatantly unfair, an unjustifiable hand-out to public sector employees who already have extremely generous pensions. It would contravene one of the ‘canons of taxation’: the need for equity and equality. It would also demonstrate the extent to which Labour is in hock to the public sector trades unions.

No doubt the BBC will be addressing this in due course.

Most senior public service people get to move move ‘jobs’ about every two years. This way they get all sorts of ‘compensation’, a golden handshake to another numpty public authoirity and a free ticket to do the same fiddle when they go to yet another public service about two years later.

County councils are rife with all these dodgers, most of whom couldn’t run a whelk stall.

Labour will just ignore the liabilities, and let them carry on, with even less speculation about their inadequacies.

The poll tax has about a fifth of our money paid to this bunch, and the pensions of all the drones they employ.

The UK, along with many other countries, is moving steadily towards a dual society of those who work for the public sector , I use the term work very loosely, and those who work hard in the private sector and are heavily taxed to pay for the public sector.
How sustainable is this? History tells us that it can only be maintained by coercion and that there is an accompanying steady decline in living standards as the private sector workers don’t think it a fair and equitable system and just produce less and less.

    Different strokes for different folks.

The BBC’s approach to Biden and Trump is chalk and cheese, night and day. They attempt to downplay and dismiss claims about Biden’s mental incapacity whilst ramping up and giving implicit acceptance and reinforcement of claims that Trump is mentally ill.

We have this complete whitewash where there is ‘nothing to see here’ about BIden’s clear incapacity….

‘Democrats rally around Biden as report raises age concerns’
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-68246569

There is no mention that Democrats do question Biden’s mental capacity…

‘More than half of Democrats concerned about Biden’s age: poll ‘
‘The CNN poll, released Thursday and conducted by SSRS, found 56 percent of Democrats — and 73 percent of Americans — are seriously concerned for Biden’s current level of physical and mental competence. ‘

    A Democrat representative openly questioned Biden’s ability…

‘Biden ‘has handed the White House to Trump’, says Democrat challenger

A bombshell report that found Joe Biden had “significant limitations in his memory” has handed the White House to Donald Trump, a senior Democrat believes.

Dean Phillips, who is Mr Biden’s only remaining challenger for the Democratic presidential nomination, called on other members of his party to “face the truth” about the President.

“The Report simply affirms what most Americans already know, that the President cannot continue to serve as our Commander-in-Chief beyond his term ending January 20, 2025.’

    No mention on the BBC.

In contrast we have many, many BBC articles suggesting Trump is mad, narcissistic, demented or a psychopath.

‘Trump’s mental health and why people are discussing it’
