The BBC will probably be hitting the Conservative Party hard over the next weekend. They are absolutely terrified of the the Conservatives. The BBC are aware that there have been rumblings in the Conservative MPs about the Licence Fee. They are also envious that the Conservatives have wealthy supporters. The BBC are terrified that people will vote ‘with their pocket books’ (a.k.a. wallets and purses) to use an American expression.

We can expect more calls from the BBC over the weekend for the Conservatives to repay donations from Frank Hester. We can also expect the BBC to attack on the ‘Levelling Up’ front as well. That deficiency of spending was explained on TWatO as being down to Civil Servants not getting the money out (now where have we heard that before?!) and Labour-led Local Authorities not applying for or not approving planning decisions on time.

It is time to defund the BBC.

Oh, do me a favour, you’re living in cloud cuckoo land. “They are absolutely terrified of the Conservatives”. Why?

These useless, gutless lumps have been in power for nigh on a decade and a half…and done sweet FA to curtail the BBC…

There have been “rumblings” have there? Blimey, that will have the Beeb’s knees knocking. Look, every so often, a Tory MP will come out tub thumping and getting the Daily Mail readers in a lather by saying something about BBC bias and waffling about defunding them. It’s the same old pantomime year in, year out. And they have done zilch. It ain;t going to happen. You can’t keep falling for it.

Mind you, if you honestly believe the Tories are about to defund the BBC

I’ve got a bridge you might be interested in buying…

Mere distractions for the Main Event.

Drumbeats of War: The media and others, including our, Worlds Most Respected, BBC, told to fire up the volume trying to encourage those in, ‘Power'(?) to believe that the ‘Public’ (i.e. them) will all be in favour. I can’t see the direct linkage at present but I guess all will fall into place in due course. Including all those, “Military age young men” being shipped in by our so-called, “Government” ably assisted by the RNLI.

As always, the only public support for any war will be felt in their pockets. And now, the Government have given themselves the power, whether it be banks or building societies, to steal the public’s money directly.

Jeff, it is only the Conservatives that keep muttering about the BBC but all the other political Parties want to keep the gravy train rolling for the BBC despite the-cost-of-living-crisis! All the other Parties and some Lefty commentators (heard mostly on the BBC!) claim that the BBC are a ‘mouthpiece for the Government’! That is why the BBC are terrified that the Conservative Party might discover some truly Conservative policies somewhere, put them in the GE Manifesto and then carry them out. The Conservatives might force the BBC for example, to restore free TV Licences to the over 75s (or over 70s, maybe) but make the BBC pay for that itself. Or the Conservatives could force the BBC to re-introduce a full iPlayer capability for everyone to watch catch up TV.

Hope that explanation satisfies you. There is a General Election coming this year.

        Haven’t you noticed?

There are anti-smoking adverts on GBNews with a lady talking about how she never thought she would get cancer when she started smoking. Don’t get me wrong, I feel very sorry for her, but as I have never smoked and unlikely to start, I am not the target audience. The advert ends with the words ‘up to 2 out of 3 smokers will die of cancer’. I am trying to work out what the words ‘up to’ actually mean. Does it mean no more that 2 out of 3 smokers will die of cancer, or does it mean 1.1 (or less?) smokers will die of cancer. Those pesky words ‘up to’ irritate me. I keep wondering whether this is the government’s Push Unit at work – but those pesky words just irritate.

Meanwhile I have to admit to being a covid numbers junkie. 1248 people had covid last week according to the government’s UKHSA dashboard. 1212 were admitted (actually it doesn’t say to where – perhaps the lunatic asylum?) last week. So virtually everybody who had covid last week, was admitted to hospital (I am assuming that admittance means that). 185 died, which is about 1 in 6. Something tells me that this figures are a complete waste of time and wonder why on earth they are being collected – and at what cost. Nobody who is a decision maker can be looking at them, otherwise somebody would be told to stop wasting everyone’s time. Perhaps Marianna could get on the case.

Probably most of the covid testing takes place in old peoples homes. Once positive they can then be moved into hospitals to be given midazolam, remdesivir, nil-by-mouth, or DNR.

Before we had tests for covid then these folk may have been classified with a respiratory virus and around 50k used to die of this each year. So maybe it will turn out that Covid has been a miraculous ‘cure’ for RSV deaths.

One scandal in old folks homes is that they are not being given vitamin D – especially since they are never taken out into the sunshine. This would boost immunity, is very cheap and would have much better benefit than daft covid tests.

To be fair, a work logistics colleague alerted us to the competitiveness of LKW Walter in about 1995. You’ll see their lorries on the road network.
Return loads, unequal loads of goods across/ under the channel (nett imports) and even the cost of diesel in Europe all contribute. But agree that governments rarely really support business, mainly because neither they nor the civil servants have the remotest idea of how to run one.

So hot on the heels of that Dan Wootan interview totally ridiculing the extreme reaction of the Left to Laurence Fox’s comments, we get this 100% hit piece on Laurence by the BBC. There is no reason whatsoever to rehash the story like this except agenda.

Billie Piper: Actress speaks out over dealing with comments by ex-husband Laurence Fox
    https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-68579518

And in this article, we get links to ‘suggested’ articles which are about Prince Andrew !.

I think we have finally turned the corner and the BBC (along with all the Lefties) are now going all-out to stop Trump and destroy every prominent Right-wing activist. They now know OFCOM and the MSM are fully complicit. Nothing will be challenged.

    Elsewhere some good news:

As opposed to 80% irreplaceble Davina ?.

But of course she is wrong. He will be replaced with another selection from the Black/Female/Gay Getty catalogue who – like all the clones who write the news – will not believe they actually got that job because they have always been a bit thick.

Not interested in the article. My eyes simply refuse to read the extremeist rubbish the BBC are confident to put out these days.

But as I scanned it, I noticed this:

‘as his supporters headed home, some harangued a lone protester, a young man with a blue European Union flag.’
‘without providing evidence’ most definitely applies to YOU for that one BBC.

And with the vast democratic majority heading for home, who do the BBC interview ?.
You guessed it: the lone EU supporter.

And what did he say ?
‘We should defend Hungarian sovereignty from Donald Trump and from the Russians, not the European Union,” Peter Csurgo told the BBC.’

All used regularly by the BBC to justify adding in their own biased opinion by pretending they are quoting someone else’s.

One of their lowest tricks is when they take something like an anti-Trump book then quote the worst lines from it as if they are fact without any context or background about who is saying them.

Born on 7 October: Gaza mum’s fight to feed her baby
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-68542331

Another 0% news, 100% empathy article from the BBC intended to pull your sympathy over to the Palestinians.

The only use for these articles is to look how the author uses BBC tricks to push their agenda. It starts immediately:

‘Hamas had launched its attack on Israel, firing thousands of rockets over the border. Israeli jet fighters launched retaliatory attacks soon after.’

‘In Khan Younis, Amal had no idea what was going on. She was anxious and terrified and, eight months pregnant, she started bleeding heavily. She had to get to hospital’

Note the Israeli jets were ‘quite a lot’ after and have nothing whatsoever to do with what she wen tthrough. The BBC have added it here to infer they were part of the cause.

‘After a three-hour wait, the first taxi driver could only take her part of the way. The streets were full of people who didn’t know what to do or where to go.’

So everybody in Gaza just went outside and stood in the street and a taxi with a heavily bleeding pregnant woman could not get through ?. That’s just so odd, I don’t believe it.

And it goes on and on.

‘Noah was lying on the soft carpet, propped up on a big cushion, watching cartoons on TV and swigging milk from his bottle. He’s kicking his legs in the air under the soft glow of fairy lights on the living room wall.’

It’s not news in any way whatsoever. It’s BBC activists constantly pulling open wounds and showing them to the camera to virtue-signal just much they care about the suffering. Which they don’t.

If the media had piled the pressure on Hamas from the start by making big headlines of what they are actually doing and why all these civilians continue to suffer, perhaps all their support would collapse and they would have given up by now. But the Left don’t want that. They want to use it against the Jews so they keep on fanning the discontent with Israel while protecting Hamas.

Once again the Left/BBC have their hands covered in blood.

Their silence is deafening and tells us everything we need to know about their ethics. They are activists driven by hatred of white males. They don’t care one bit about anybody elses suffering if they can’t use it for their own agenda. Which sums up the entire Left to me.

I listened to the latest John Anderson podcast yesterday when his guest was Konstantine Kisin . KK gave a bleak but realistic view of the position in which Britain has descended to.
But the most notable feature for me was when towards the end Anderson said that twenty years ago he was told by a high ranking member of a Muslim government that no true Muslim could ever support a democracy because it would go against the tenants of Islam and that all good Muslims must favour a theocratic form of government .
To my surprise both participants seemed to say that they didn’t believe this and that they had both met Muslims who were strongly against theocratic rule. But on further discussion it became apparent to me that these Muslims were very wealthy and supporters of monarchies . They just wanted to hold onto their loot.

It is worrying that two people like Anderson or Kisin don’t see or dare not say that the threat posed by Islam is universal. There is no prospect of a Islam undergoing a reformation.

Hidden away in this hilarious story about socks and football team strips is a serious point.
Societies need order. Culture is ‘the way we do things round here’. In the UK we drive on the left, as in India and Japan. But in the USA, Canada, and much of Europe they drive on the right. It doesn’t really matter which you choose, but you have to choose one. Otherwise there is chaos. And with order comes economy of scale.
Multiculturalism is not like that. Anything goes. Everyone’s cultures are equal even if diametrically opposed and have to be supported and funded. But without order you cannot have society and economy of scale. And thus multiculturalism and coherent society is incompatible.
In how many languages does your local council issue its election instructions?

Unexpectedly I discovered a possible extra reason why governments may like multiculturalism through mass immigration. A Kenyan aquaintenance in a leadership position points out that back in Kenya if he says something, people automatically obey. In the UK decisions are queried, challenged and questioned. His thesis is that many immigrants arrive from countries with authoritarian regimes, one party dictatorships, military rule, draconian law enforcement. In such circumstances you don’t question, you just do what you are told.
How easy a life it would be in this country if the government could rely on an increasing proportion of the population to do just that.

And how dare millions in other countries seek to improve their lives by having power and a fresh water supply ? Thus increase nasty gas output all the more ….

The west is just on a self harm self destruction journey which must be stopped ….

Maybe. But the failure of devolution is that the devolved authorities continually and successfully make hay with the ‘don’t blame us, the UK government is starving us of cash’ routine. The elected Mayors play the same trick.
Unfortunately the Tories are so spineless and apologetic that they just lay down rather than take the fight to the socialists and assertively expose their abject failings.

Regarding AsIseet’s comment about the sock crisis in wimmins football.

In the interests of equality and to save money on different coloured socks, I think they should all play in black stockings, and of course to make it easy to check compliance, they must all wear mini skirts, and to in the interests of health and safety, to help with traction and avoid slips and trips, they must all wear six inch stilleto heels.

It might possibly help attendance and viewing figures too, a win / win then ?

Pity Benny Hill is no longer with us I am lead to believe he was an expert in the offside rule so would make a fine referee, and that funny bald man as a linesman would make a dream team in my opinion. The ref should be allowed to slap him if he overules a decision so the crowd understands the final decision.

We could also play some amusing saxophone music as they followed him running into the tunnel at half time to keep the crowd interested.

And to help ensure discipline the wimmin team managers should dress in police uniform, and if upset with a decision, be allowed to hit the referee with a spare stilleto shoe and chase him a little.

And I think 90 minutes of wimmins football on TV is too much for viewers so they should play it back at double speed.

    • Zelazek says:

Ashenden’s analysis is correct and the Islamic Republic of Great Britain isn’t far away.

The problem is how do we (the native British) prevent that?

The first thing we must do is recognise that Islam, alone among the major religions, has a doctrine of violence and coercion towards non-believers, and is an all-encompassing, authoritarian political programme that brooks no dissent. It cannot exist within our inherited European culture of free speech and human rights. Left to grow, Islam will eventually destroy all the great things about our society that have taken centuries for us to build and develop.

Therefore, for our own survival, it cannot be tolerated. Islam must be eradicated from our land and sent back to the Arabian desert from whence it came. That is the harsh solution that our squeamish and cowardly politicians, courts, and media, if they had the balls to even recognise the danger and the threat, need to contemplate. Muslims must be expelled from the UK – and Europe too – one way or the other.

The building of new mosques must be banned and existing mosques demolished. Muslim immigration must be completely halted. A programme of repatriation of Muslims must be begun and then deportation for recalcitrants. This may be hard on “moderate” Muslims, but there is no other way.

If hard facts are not faced and these extreme measures not taken, then one of two things will happen: The Islamic Republic of Great Britain will become a reality – or civil war will break out.

I don’t want either. The most humane solution is to take strong measures NOW.

On the surface it seems like they care… but behind the scenes there’s another agenda that is a higher priority for them – in this Sunday edition

In entertainment news: Game of Thrones creators on why they swapped dragons for aliens (BBC)

Later, perhaps, we may hear from our little manlet in a tight suit, PM Rishi Sunak – seat-warmer for Starmer and First Lord of the Green Card (to give him his full titles) on why the failing administration he leads swaps focus from the actual real life threat we face from alien islamic terrorists to the fantasy notion of those mythical dragons of the far-right?

‘Litany of menace’ as Gaza activists target MPs (Telegraph)

Of course our politicians will prioritise looking after their own: Home Office unveils £31m security package to protect MPs from threats. Home Secretary James Cleverly said no MP should have to accept that harassment is ‘part of the job’. (Independent)

Our BBC does love to promote the stories told by the world’s supposed most downtrodden of underdogs and their imagined travails – and I’m not referring to Gaza: Local elections: ‘I got my first death threat before I was elected’… There are fears rising levels of abuse could put people off entering politics

Beeboid Ben Schofield goes on to present the case for our liberal-minded political class – seemingly united and like-minded across the party divides – they find themselves and many of their ideals and policies suddenly at odds with the population. And they appear to be amazed by this.

Afterall, be reasonable… if, like our politicians you do happen to be content with our open-border levels of hyper-immigration, the anarcho-tyranny of ULEZ, LTNs and the like, the neo-religious belief in Net Zero, in fact every aspect of Nanny Statism – from the confiscation of historical reenacting medieval broadswords to the outlawing of the so recently formerly promoted alternative to smoking vapes, gender-bending drag queens and Pride parades on the rates – all despite ever-rising Council Tax, combined with ineffective crime control, pot holes, infrastructure collapse, failing schools, a crumbling NHS… well if you’re happy with all that – and by the way our political class certainly seem to be fairly content that they’re on the right track – then why would you ever be moved in some fit of unreasonable frustration to threaten to kill your local councillor or presume to address your constituency MP with some racial or misogynistic epithet?

Our Ben Schofield interviews a cross section of our local politicians and naturally ticks all the right boxes: Mrs Williams, 35, [Conservative] remembered… “I had threats of violence and sexual violence towards me,” she said… she feared the abuse she faced were attempts to make her views “extinct”… Festus Akinbusoye admitted the “extremely soul destroying” abuse he faced made him question whether he wanted to remain as Bedfordshire’s Conservative police and crime commissioner… Labour councillor Elisa Meschini described how her support for a congestion charge in Cambridge “opened the floodgates…” South Cambridgeshire Liberal Democrat, Peter McDonald, 62, said… “very few people – mostly men” had been “taking up the cudgels against me for anything from a pothole or a planning permission to an industrial development”. “We live in an area with a lot of change and a lot of development and people can get very worked up about that,” he said.

Read between the lines there and one can begin to see just a hint of the real issues at stake. Inevitably, aside for the £31m of public cash they’ve gifted to themselves for extra security the answer to all this anger directed at our political class is diagnosed – just as night follows day: The Online Safety Act, which became law in October, aims to bring “a new era of internet safety”, according to the government. The LGA welcomed some of its measures but said it could have gone further. (BBC)

The adults know best. Like Victorian children, angry populations should be seen and not heard – as for the really naughty ones – take their toys away and put them on the naughty step!

The mildly conservative Sunday Telegraph clutches at straws: Crackdown on rogue councils over 20mph zones and LTNs… Coucils that ignore local opposition… could be stripped of their powers…

And if you believe that… I’ve a dozen dodgy London ULEZ cameras hidden in secret lock up somewhere within the M25 to sell you…

The Government must act to stop the undemocratic expansion of Ulez… SIR – The expansion of London’s ultra-low emission zone is an undemocratic imposition… (Telegraph, Letters, August 2023)

Rishi Sunak ‘overruled from blocking Sadiq Khan’s Ulez expansion’ Legal advice said to have concluded Government block on Ulez expansion would fail if challenged (Evening Standard, August 2023); London ULEZ: Government is ‘legally powerless’ to stop Sadiq Khan’s expansion plans on ‘pet project’ Paul Scully admitted the UK Government had no legal options to challenge the expansion (My London, January 2023)

This from the same Tory government that could confine us to our homes, shut down half the economy, turn the NHS into a covid-only service – and all that enacted overnight at the stroke of a pen and without any prior precident.

Meanwhile the Telegraph frets over: Putin’s terrifying Stalin fetish

Britain should use conscription to deter Russia, urges Nato ally (Telegraph) – that’s not Germany, the US or even Belgium. That’ll be a call from Krisjanis Karins, foreign minister of that histioric defender of liberal democracy and the modern military stalwart that is Latvia – talk about the zeal of the newly converted.

German court backs pensions for veterans of Latvian SS unit… The ruling by a federal court in Kassel overturns a lower court’s denial of a pension to a former Latvian member of the Waffen-SS and to the widow of another veteran. Disability pensions have been paid to wounded veterans since 1950 (Jewish Telegraphic Agency, December 1998)

Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia were invited to begin accession talks at the Alliance’s Prague Summit in 2002. On 29 March 2004, they officially became members of the Alliance, making this the largest wave of enlargement in NATO history. (Nato) – and that, folks (just in case you were wondering) is what’s helped upset the Russians.

    That’s Life

Don’t blame Esther Rantzen: Meta expert: Instagram fuelling rise in suicides… harmful content… “triggering” vulnerable young women and girls… “On the surface it seems like they care… but behind the scenes there’s another agenda that is a higher priority for them” (Observer)

    And on that thought

Diana crash used in vile euthenasia ad campaign… Princess’s friends condemn ‘cruel exploitation’ as Paris tragedy photo promotes assisted dying (Daily Mail)

This previously from the same weather vane Daily Mail: ‘Can we just do this now?’ Esther Rantzen’s daughter puts pressure on Rishi Sunak to call a vote on legalising assisted dying saying that Labour pledge to hold one if it wins election will come ‘too late’ for terminally ill telly legend

    Something to cheer us up…

Farage plots Sunak’s demise (Sunday Express) – and on this Saint Paddy’s Day – we recall vintage Belfast comic Frank Carson, who was apt to remark “You’ve heard them all before, but it’s the way I tell ’em”

Or perhaps Penny Mordaunt (there’s a Game of Thones-like name) will stick her broadsword in Rishi’s back – before he confiscates it?

“People have no idea how enormous a protest is when in a city of 7 million, 2 million citizens are out in the streets, protesting… the Hong Kong protests of 2019 and early 2020 were HUGE. An unheard of, historical “f**k you” to China on a grand scale. Beijing was getting nervous. The genie appeared to be out of the bottle. Even Hong Kong police force, teachers, professors and civil servants had joined the protests. Students didn’t go to school, stores owned by pro-China owners were vandalised…

Then all of a sudden, Covid-19 breaks out. The patient zero comes from Wuhan, China. The disease quickly spreads across the world. Dominates the global news cycle, destabilizes the global economy… and all news articles are now about Covid. All everyone talks about is Covid. China finally sweeps down on Hong Kong, curbing the protests, jailing the protest leaders — those who haven’t yet fled abroad, that is. Nobody notices. Nobody pays attention. Because all anyone thinks about is the pandemic.

The genie of “Free Hong Kong!” went back in the bottle again as soon as the pandemic broke out. Before the call for democracy could spread elsewhere, contaminate other Chinese regions and become more of a headache for the nervous authorities in Beijing. Did the Chinese government deliberately release the virus as a distraction, only for it to spiral out of control? Who knows.”
