In between its long and reverential report on fasting children in schools in the UK for Ramadan, Toady on Sunday briefly mentioned that those cuddly lovely Muslims in northern Nigeria, Boko Haram, have just kidnapped hundreds of women and children. These are nearly always Christians, but the reporter was very keen to mention they may have got a few Muslims this time.

Why was this not plastered all over the main news bulletins? Rather more important than whether a Tory donor said some hurty words about Dianne Abbott in a private meeting five years ago.

We all know the answer. The Islamic Broadcasting Corporation have a clear aim to portray Muslims only in the most positive of lights. And Muslims overwhelmingly vote Labour.

All she has to do is post some hurty words on the interweb, preferably anti islamic, then when the door comes crashing in just shout “I’ve got a gun”.

Job done, tens of thousands of pounds saved and some compo for the kids, win win.

Not really BBC. Well, maybe a little. Think Justin Rowlatt.

There is a BBC story just now that the government is asking local councils to justify Low Traffic Neighbourhoods more carefully. These consist of local councils closing off residential roads to through traffic to ‘improve air quality’ and ‘ encourage cycling’. Hold that thought.
In my part of Londonistan, we have had Labour Councils and Tory ones and a mix. But the thing is that local traffic policy never changes. The war on the motorist aka ordinary citizens goes on unchecked. Lower speed limits. High parking charges. Bus lanes converted from normal lanes, reducing road capacity by 50%, LTNs,
It’s my contention these policies are not really developed by local politicians. Many of these have jobs and being a councillor is a sort of part time hobby. Winning an election is an end in itself. Then they go AWOL. So the council traffic officials, who are essentially anti-car eco-fanatics, drum up hundred page reports which they know the councillors won’t read but they go through on the nod. The officials will cite legislation requiring councils to improve road safety. Then the councillors have to support them, otherwise their failure to engage will become apparent. The embarrassment would be too much.
And thus ordinary citizens are systematically emasculated. They can’t get around their own towns. They can’t park, or take their children anywhere or see their families without enduring huge council-created traffic jams.
You know it. I know it. An open goal for a sensible government. Which we don’t have.

A brilliant post. I would go further to suggest that the council officials are not just anti-car but anti-travel and this might be because they have sociopathic tendencies and feel the need to control and increase their own power. It is never traffic-calming but traffic-infuriation.

So the cover story for installing speed-humps may be to reduce speed and increase road-safety, but the actual reason is that it wastes fuel and increases journey time. Wasting fuel is seen as good because 80% is taxed, increasing journey time is seen as good because then ‘something must be done about it’.

When Wales introduced the 20mph zones almost immediately some young lads driving an audi managed to kill themselves.

Earlier this weekend there was a protest in London about someone insulting Diane Abbott in a private conversation. You look at these protestors and wonder how stupid, ignorant and one-sided they can be.

Where were these “anti-racism” people when Abbott made her racists comments about Jews, redheads, white mayors, white men……etc…..etc.

And just look at some of the placards that these retards are holding. They’re all laughable, but there’s one that says “No to Islamophobia and Antisemitism”. Which basically means “yes” to Islam and “no” to Islam then. On one placard. Which really sums up the stupidity and wilful ignorance of these people.

BTW take a look at the comments on the AOL site. Pretty much every one is sensible and calls out this ridiculous charade for what it really is.

And not much on the bBBC yet, although if they do get around to reporting it you can guarantee it won’t be open for comments.

  8. Zephir says:

Earlier this month Ms Ibrahim liked a video on X of Palestine Action activists slashing an oil painting of former British prime minister Arthur Balfour, who helped pave the way for the creation of Israel. On the day of the Hamas attacks on October 7, she ‘liked’ videos of people in Lebanon and Tunisia chanting, dancing and waving Palestinian flags in the street in apparent celebration.

London-based Ms Ibrahim, who has worked for the BBC for 12 years, also liked another post on X on October 7 which celebrated ‘the first of the martyrs of the operation’. The tweet featured a picture of an Egyptian man who was killed after shooting dead three Israeli soldiers last June.

Last October the corporation said it was investigating six BBC Arabic staff over allegations the journalists had justified the killing of Israeli civilians by Hamas on their social media accounts. Four of those staff appear to have returned to reporting duties, a BBC insider told the Mail.

The accounts were first uncovered by anti-Semitism researcher David Collier and investigated by the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis, a media monitoring group.

The BBC report quoted three Palestinian doctors who said they were beaten, doused with cold water and made to kneel for hours by Israeli troops following a military raid on the Nasser hospital last month. The IDF denied the claims.

Last night a BBC spokesman said it takes ‘allegations of breaches of our social media guidance very seriously’. The Mail approached Mr Al Khatib for comment, but he referred our reporter to the BBC press office.

‘The Latest’? AP’s Fealty Vs. Footdragging Reporting Fatality Stats from Hamas, Israel

Practically on a daily basis, the Associated Press recounts the Palestinian death toll supplied by Hamas’ Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip. Just about every day, the venerated wire service recounts with muezzin-like regularity Hamas’ latest figures for Palestinian casaulties, frequently extolling the designated terror organization either for its purported “detailed casualty records” or for its consistency with third party data.

For instance, on March 7, AP reported:

Gaza’s Health Ministry said Wednesday the Palestinian death toll from the war climbed to 30,717. The ministry is part of the Hamas-run government and maintains detailed casualty records. It does not differentiate between civilians and combatants in its tallies but says women and children make up around two-thirds of those killed.

March 9, the news agency updated:

Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 30,878 Palestinians have been killed. It does not differentiate between civilians and combatants in its tallies but says women and children make up two-thirds of those killed. The ministry, which is part of the Hamas-run government, maintains detailed records and its casualty figures from previous wars have largely matched those of the U.N. and independent experts.

Coverage the following day (yesterday) read:

The Health Ministry in Gaza said that at least 31,045 Palestinians have been killed since the war began. The ministry doesn’t differentiate between civilians and combatants in its count, but says that women and children make up two-thirds of the dead. The ministry is part of the Hamas-run government, and its figures from previous wars have largely matched those of U.N. and independent experts.

Today’s coverage so far is somewhat of a departure from the norm, because while it does reliably supply Hamas’ latest figure, it omits the usual “detailed records” and consistency with experts endorsements. (Perhaps the change is a result of this author’s post on the X platform yesterday). AP reports today:

Gaza’s Health Ministry said that at least 31,112 Palestinians have been killed since the war began. The ministry doesn’t differentiate between civilians and combatants in its count, but says that women and children make up two-thirds of the dead.

    CAMERA:
    The Media Aids Hamas

Hamas is losing on the battlefield. And its allies in the Western press are doing everything that they can to save the terrorist group. Their efforts are already bearing fruit.

On March 7, 2024, President Joe Biden announced the construction of a “temporary pier [that] would enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian assistance getting into Gaza every day.” The President added: “Israel must do its part. Israel must allow more aid into Gaza and ensure that humanitarian workers aren’t caught in the crossfire.”

Details of the plan remain vague. On March 9, 2024, the U.S. Army Vessel General Frank S. Besson, a logistics support vessel, departed Joint Base Langley-Eustis for the Eastern Mediterranean “carrying the first equipment to establish a temporary pier to deliver vital humanitarian supplies,” the U.S. Central Command noted. More than 1,000 U.S. military personnel will take part in the mission.

Yet the day before, at a press conference, when a reporter asked Pentagon spokesman Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder if they thought Hamas would fire at U.S. troops, Ryder said: “that’s certainly a risk…but if Hamas does truly care about the Palestinian people, then again, one would hope that this international mission to deliver aid to people who need it would be able to happen unhindered.”

But Hamas doesn’t care about the Palestinian people. Indeed, its entire strategy is to sacrifice them in the name of murdering Jews. This includes using civilian population centers, such as hospitals, schools, and playgrounds, to plot and launch attacks. But it’s also evident in the terrorist group’s strategy of hoarding aid from Gazans—a fact that has been amply documented, but often ignored by major media outlets.

Indeed, if some Western policymakers are blaming Israel for Gazans not getting aid, they’re but regurgitating a narrative pushed by many in the press.

Unsurprisingly, the Washington Post is foremost among them. CAMERA has documented the newspaper’s anti-Israel bias, which includes promoting blood-libels and parroting casualty statistics supplied by Hamas. The Post’s coverage of Gaza aid has been similarly lackluster.

At seemingly every turn, the Post has downplayed or ignored Israel’s efforts to get aid to the Gaza people while simultaneously ignoring the root of the problem: Hamas. The problem with aid flowing to Gazans isn’t the Israelis. It’s not a supply problem. Rather, it’s a distribution problem. Hamas steals aid.

Yet the Post has pretended otherwise. Take, for example, a March 1, 2024 dispatch by David Ignatius (“Food convoy carnage distills what’s gone terribly wrong in Gaza”). The Post columnist asserts that “Israel’s war aim is to destroy Hamas, but sadly, it is also destroying any vestige of orderly life in Gaza.”

This, of course, is nonsense. Would Ignatius claim that the Islamic State presided over an “orderly” rule? That those living under its authoritarian fist had an “orderly” life? Would he blame the Allies for the conditions that Germans dealt with in the closing days of World War II? Somehow Hamas is judged by a different standard.

  13. Zephir says:

As John Spencer, the chair of urban war studies at West Point and a combat veteran, pointed out “Israel has taken more measures to avoid needless civilian harm than virtually any other nation that’s fought an urban war.” In his Jan. 31, 2024 Newsweek Op-Ed, Spencer catalogues the extensive efforts employed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to limit civilian deaths, including the use of certain munitions, advance warning to evacuate urban areas, and other methods. Israel, he notes, “has taken precautionary measures even the United States did not do during its recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

All this information is open-source and was readily available to Ignatius. He just chose to ignore it, preferring to put the onus on an American ally instead of a genocidal U.S.-designated terrorist group whose strategy is to encourage civilian casualties.

Ignatius insists on blaming the Jewish state for issues with aid distribution in Gaza, even claiming that aid distribution was going “smoothly” until Israel started targeted Gazan police who were supposedly preventing rioting and looting from “armed gangs.” The police, he asserts, were but “affiliated” with Hamas.

This too is inaccurate. The police are run by Hamas. They report to Hamas. Just as it was under the Islamic State. Or, for that matter, the police in Nazi Germany. This is a fact detailed in numerous studies on Hamas. It is also odd to draw sharp distinctions between terrorist groups and armed gangs. Ignatius’s claim that aid distribution was going “smoothly” is also suspect. Israeli forces have—for months—found copious aid, including fuel, food, and medical supplies, being hoarded in tunnels and headquarters used by Hamas.

The Guardian doesn’t have an ultra-rich owner. No one tells us what to write – or what not to write. We’ll stand up to expensive legal threats to bring readers the truth. Often on stories that no one else will touch.

You might not agree with every word we publish but, with your help we can hold the rich and powerful to account. Whether they like it or not.

I don’t watch much on the BBC these days, but I do follow Gardeners’ World. It was the first edition of this season on Friday. I always feel that spring has sprung when GW is back on our screens. There was Monty standing in his garden with his lovely golden retrievers, but everything looked rather sodden and dispirited…well, why wouldn’t it…it’s been raining for months.

“What a miserable winter,” Monty said, “It’s hardly stopped raining since October.” Yep, no disagreements there, mate…So far, so good.

However, about twenty minutes into the programme another presenter was showing us a garden that was designed to cope with drought. This had been filmed sometime last summer…if you remember those two days when it wasn’t pissing down.

“These plants are really hardy” she told us, “If there’s a severe water shortage they’ll be able to cope…” WTF? I involuntarily spat a mouthful of hot tea across the living room…I think I started swearing at the telly…I do that a lot these days…

So, there you have it…the same programme…one presenter bemoaning the appalling wet weather…and twenty minutes later, the other planning for drought.

    They’re schizophrenic…

Its the same with rugby as well Foscari. I have stopped watching virtually all TV sport with the advent of female commentators. There are the odd few who do know what they are talking about but the vast majority are clueless hysterical shouters which is enough for the off switch to be activated. The actual quality of sport these days anyways is shockingly poor. The only one I take an interest in these days is baseball but thats not back on yet.

Two years for having some stickers and then there is this one: still at large over and over again taking the piss:

“Furious MP says Katie Price should be JAILED for driving her Range Rover without licence after she was given just £880 fine despite notching up SIX previous bans

Price was fined £880 this week after driving without insurance or a licence. MP suggests overhauling the rules on sentencing for repeat motoring offenders.

2003 – Price escaped a speeding charge after police failed to arrest her within 12 weeks of allegedly clocking 70mph in a 40mph zone in her Range Rover.

2008 – After talking on the mobile phone while driving on April 18, Price landed three penalty points.

2009 – She failed to provide the identity of the driver after her car was allegedly caught speeding in a 30mph zone and was later handed four penalty points after being clocked at 99mph and was handed four points on her licence.

2010 – The model was convicted for failing to be in proper control of her horsebox after veering into another lane in February and was given three points on her licence, bringing her total to 10. Then in December she was banned from driving for six months after doing 83mph in a 70mph zone in her home county of West Sussex.

2012 – Two years later, Price was disqualified for 12 months for failing to respond to two speeding tickets in September.

2018 – Price landed a six-month ban in February 2018 for speeding after totting up 12 penalty points for speeding. In July, photos emerged of her driving while still banned. Then in October she was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and spent 13 hours in custody after crashing into a VW Golf and a hedge on a gated estate at 2am.

2019 – She was given a three-month ban for driving while disqualified in January of that year. And then in October, Price was banned from driving for a further 18 months for failing to inform police who was behind the wheel of her pink Range Rover during a crash in Bexley, South East London.

2021 – Katie crashes her BMW car on a country road near her West Sussex home in the early hours of the morning in September after drinking and taking drugs. She pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates of drink driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

2022 – She was back in court charged with speeding and failing to provide information to the police.

2023 – Price is fined almost £400 for speeding as well as driving with an ‘expired’ licence, just weeks after getting back behind the wheel following her drink driving ban.”

Not the first time, it’s real clickbait.

He put up a massive sign in a conservation area and was forced to take it down, he then had the mural painted, and it has nothing to do with the content of the mural, it’s the fact he installed it without planning permission which he would never have received, and he’s now trying to make it about the Union Jack.

If you see a pro Hamas death to Israel banner over a certain size you can report it to the planning department and it should be removed.

The BBC Verify unit is merely an expensive way of telling the public, ‘We are always right’
    online readable : https://archive.is/jQ7CG

I don’t suppose it will surprise many Jewish people that BBC Verify – as staffed by people with ‘forensic investigative skills’ – used a rabid pro-Palestinian with links to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps when adjudicating on an alleged Israeli attack against a Palestinian aid convoy in Gaza. Verify – a new unit which is, of course, pristine and even-handed – turned to a ‘journalist’ called Mahmoud Awadeyah for an unbiased description of exactly what happened to the convoy, unbothered by the fact that this is a man who danced a jig of joy when Israelis were killed in a rocket attack and warned them that there was more of the same stuff coming.

    etc.

“It is clear to me that the roots of the entrenched structural racism that continues to pervade global society are firmly based in the historic enslavement of black people, mainly from African countries. Racism has allowed white people to determine black people as a subhuman class and treat them as chattels, or property. Reducing black people to that status salved the collective conscience of white people around the world and enabled them to justify their barbaric acts, and we should all take responsibility for that.

Ambition for stand-out Welsh strengths, green prosperity, skills and local jobs form the top priorities for the Economy Minister, Vaughan Gething, who will today set out his plans to deliver the Welsh Government’s mission for a stronger economy.

A just transition and green prosperity: realising the enormous net zero economic opportunities and engaging with businesses and people to move towards a just transition.

A platform for young people, fair work, skills and success: backing young people to achieve the ambitious futures in Wales. Prioritising their skills and creativity.

Stronger partnerships for stronger regions and our everyday economy: working with regions to agree a smaller set of priorities for growth, local jobs and major investment. New joint working to boost the case for UK investment in projects that crowd in investment and support fair, unionised jobs in areas including nuclear, offshore wind and tech.

Investing for growth: we will work in partnership to focus on our recognised strengths to boost investment and growth that prizes fair work and long-termism. Our new mission-based innovation strategy will target new investment in a post EU landscape, supporting commercialisation, research and development and entrepreneurship.
