BTW as a Catholic, with the Pope in ill health, and 87 years old, who is likely to replace him ?

Will the Catholic Church repeat the woke experiment or will they appoint someone more ‘traditional’ this time do you think ?

He came from South America to replace Cdl Ratzinger if memory serves,
John Paul had been deeply traditional, maybe too far behind the times as the new digital age came in.

It’s been sad to see both the Pope and Arch Socialist of Cant pretty much in lockstep, which perhaps allowed them to move further and faster to the Left than they otherwise might have done.

Like any good dictator, the current woke pope has flooded the college of Cardinals with like-minded flunkeys. They’re likely to vote-in a similarly minded new pope, depending on numbers and whether there’s a pushback towards tradition again.
Bergoglio’s worst crime in the eyes of traditionalists is to have led a vicious, petty and petulant attack against the Traditional Latin Mass, ironically the only sector of the church that’s dynamic and growing.
For non Catholic readers, Bergoglio (Francis) is the Catholic equivalent to the ghastly Welby.

Angela Rayner is one of the most arresting figures in British politics today. A self-declared socialist, she pursued an unorthodox route to Westminster, leaving school and giving birth to her first child aged sixteen having gained no formal qualifications. After becoming a care worker, she was a trade union representative before entering the House of Commons in 2015 as the Labour MP for Ashton-under-Lyne. She served as the shadow Secretary of State for Education for four years from 2016 and was elected deputy leader of the Labour Party in April 2020.

Rayner’s life story has earned her a reputation as an authentic working-class voice and, thanks to her own power base and combative performances in the Commons chamber, she is widely considered to be a standout figure among Sir Keir Starmer’s shadow cabinet. But who is the real Angela Rayner? What does she actually believe in? What is she like behind the scenes? Can she unite the factions of her party to endorse the Starmer project? And does she harbour ambitions for the top job? This careful examination of her background and career seeks to answer these questions and many more.

Michael Ashcroft’s new book follows the journey of a politician who has quickly become an outspoken and charismatic presence in British public life.

I find it hard to imagine a more clear example of the gross racist double standards and hypocrisy of the Left than these two articles:

First this one by the BBC:

Romeo & Juliet: Hundreds show support for actress abused online
    https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-68778820

‘The letter, co-authored by actress Susan Wokoma and writer Somalia Nonyé Seaton, calls out the “twisted ugly abuse” while celebrating Francesca.’

Again no indication of whether the abuse was against her or the cultural appropriation of black people playing parts written for white people.

And this one by the equally Left Huffington Post:
’25 Times White Actors Played People Of Color And No One Really Gave A S**t’
    https://www.huffpost.com/entry/26-times-white-actors-played-people-of-color-and-no-one-really-gave-a-sht_n_56cf57e2e4b0bf0dab313ffc

‘AS IF IT wasn’t enough that Hollywood lacks serious diversity behind and in front of the camera, the industry also has a nasty (not so) little habit of giving diverse roles to white actors.’

Funny that Huffington because I see black actors represented WAY more than their percentage of the population.

Written by their own version of the BBC female BAME clone no less.

“The police are taking the public for granted by indulging in wokery. The Moseley and Kings Heath Police’s post on X about prayer mats and hijabs just shows they’ve got their priorities all wrong.

What do police officers carry in their cars and vans? In Birmingham, Moseley and Kings Heath Police’s feed on X (formerly twitter) proudly announced on 28 March:

“A little bit more inclusivity, in Moseley station we have a number of officer purchased prayer mats and hijabs to go in our police vehicles. It means our Muslim colleagues and public will have access to these when they are needed when out on patrol.”

    https://www.express.co.uk/comment/expresscomment/1887006/police-job-woke-crime

  11. Zephir says:

The Moseley police post went viral, but has since been deleted. It is unclear why any member of the public would need the support of the police to pray or to wear a hijab – Birmingham has between 150-200 mosques (estimates vary) and countless shops stocking prayer mats, hijabs and anything else an observant individual may need.

Given such activity is entirely legal, what business is any of this, of the police? It appears a most bizarre intervention to make, not least as it raises questions about quite what officers are doing on shift.

Is this how they spend their time, in a city with significant problems of anti-social crime, drug abuse and violence? Looking closely at the image posted of boxed prayer mats and hijabs, and a typed message stated ‘Please remember Sgt Chis Gallon in your duas’ (meaning prayer or supplication). It seems a rather peculiar piece of advertising.

Will West Midlands Police apply this approach to those who follow all faiths and none? If not, they will be accused of favouritism. They risk alienating not just other communities, but those in all communities who would like to see more action from the police when it comes to tackling and deterring crime, and a little less grandstanding.

Let us look at the record of West Midlands Police. It is currently under ‘enhanced monitoring’ by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services after failing to properly deliver for victims of crime.

It has the worst rate (per 100,000 population) for knife crime in England – 177 offences per 100,000 population for the year to September 2023 – an increase from 172 in the previous year. Put simply, this force could do without any distractions.

Eurovision organisers condemn online abuse of contestants
    https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-68777801

By ‘abuse of contestants’ you mean ‘death threats to Israeli contestants’ there BBC.

If all these left-wing anti-semetics were portrayed as the nasty terrorist-supporting racists they actually are by the likes of the BBC instead of being protected by headlines like this then perhaps they would learn to keep their mouths shut.

I have to thank Eurovision for a defining moment for me : during one act years ago, the camera switched to the audience. Two white males (obviously planted there ready for the camera) were dancing and when they saw the camera was on them, one leant over to his left, grabbed a young black girl by the shoulders and roughly pushed her in front of the camera. She had a very startled look on her face.

That’s the hypocrite Left all over. Everything is for show and virtue-signalling. Underneath they are shallow, nasty b@stards.

I think the disgusting lies that more or less the whole pack of lefty “journalists” concocted over The Wetherspoons Supermarket affair was the clearest indication of the state of journalism in the UK today. The press pretty much bellowed lies in unison to try to take Martin down.

They tried a unified hatchet job on Martin purely because he often represents that sector of the public who are not in lock-step with their Marxist ideas.

I have “acquaintances” who still swallow and spew out the shit that was spread by the venomous media and strangely although claiming they would not darken a Wetherspoons doorway are sometimes found having a quick all-day-breakfast there at bargain prices.

Biden vows ‘ironclad’ support for Israel amid Iran attack fears
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68786054

This is your usual BBC agenda article – the first half for the headline article then the second half for the agenda rhetoric – in this case repeating once again how Joe said “I think what he’s doing is a mistake. I don’t agree with his approach,” presented once again without any context.

But what caught my eye is the new BBC ‘summary’ of the war. The plight of the Palestinians is now top billing and the terrorist attack a mere afterthought:

‘According to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry, more than 33,000 people – mostly women and children – have been killed in the Israeli incursion.
The conflict was sparked by Hamas’s killing of more than 1,200 people in Israel and the taking of 240 hostages in its October attack.’

Any suggestion by the BBC that Hamas are a terrorist group who committed apalling atrocities and murder to cause all of this is a very distant memory now.

It’s so obvious all these reports are being orchestrated by BBC political commisars. Their content and tone are all very similar.

People should listen to the commentary by Col Douglas MacGregor and Lt Col Scott Ritter about this.

It’s clear Netanyahu has wanted to widen the war and drag the USA into it in a war with Iran.
Biden is corrupt and owned by the Jewish lobby in Washington, many of his people hold dual Israeli / US nationality and there is discontent about those who hold any kind of dual nationality being allowed to hold senior office.

Trump is probably even more gung ho over Israel than Biden is which in this situation is even worse.

If America gets involved with Iran then Russia and China get involved plus Turkey and its WWIII.

Russia has already defeated NATO and will defeat the US on it’s own but with China and Turkey it’s the end of Israel, which some people here think is a price worth paying in an attempt to grab some land which doesn’t belong to them.

Some new kinda press review – something you ain’t had

    All must win (cash) prizes

Jessica Ennis wins gold at the 2012 Olympics. In the modern Games’ 128-year history, winners have simply won a medal (Guardian) – last decade’s photo journalism featured again in today’s Graun there.

    I don’t like the look of your’s…

Our would-be golden girls are featured frontpage of the Telegraph: Angela Rayner, Labour’s deputy leader, pictured with Rachel Reeves, the shadow chancellor

    Staying with politics

I see a little silhouetto of a man

Rishi Sunak – just like that grubby turnip-scented dwarfish superannuated scullery lad, co-star in TV’s Blackadder – the character who always came up with: “A Cunning Plan” – so it is that his loyalist lackey the Daily Express would have us believe in: Radical NHS plan to fast track care and free up beds… PLEDGE Rishi is committed to cutting NHS waiting times

One can almost hear the inevitably facetious tones of Rowan Atkinson: “Tell me, Baldrick, would this plan of your’s be likely to work out anything like your previous cunning plan to… stop the boats?

What our maths-loving PM seems to miscalculate about our cherished legacy system of free-at-the-point-of-access NHS – sadly combined with a state-encouraged hypochondriacal nation and with borders open to all and sundry – is that finite healthcare now has infinite demand and so needs must be rationed by queuing and wait lists.

That’s the equation Rishi. To solve it you have to alter one or more of the component presently fixed constants – start charging for healthcare so as to discourage casual or flippant usage: Adult transgender clinics in England… concerns about the care they provide… NHS England announced that it will set up a review (Guardian)

Sunak could also consider shoring up our borders – ie Rishi Cunning Plan Number One (see above) – but that’s about as likely to work out successfully as some Baldrick-inspired scheme: Afghan sex-offender escapes deportation… 31-year-old asylum-seeker… “outraging public decency and exposure”… avoided deportation after claiming it was a breach of his human rights (Telegraph)

Rishi Sunak will face a Cabinet revolt if he decides to leave the European Convention on Human Rights. At least 12 Cabinet ministers are understood to oppose leaving (Telegraph) – that’ll be 12 of the Rishi Sunak-appointed dripping wet Tory members of his Cabinet

Labour more trusted than the Conservatives on immigration – but the majority trust neither… Only 15% say that Rishi Sunak’s government has been doing well at running the country, while slightly over two in five (43%) think it has done badly. (Ipsos)

Unlucky in business – and in love (Telegraph) – no, not Rishi Sunak, this is a minor Royal story: William’s ‘other brother’ Peter Phillips

The FT maintains a large pink broadsheet frontpage format which wastes our time and effort on a seemingly daily basis with half-baked reports that hint how interest rates are either coming down or staying put at their present levels. It’s a push-me pull-you swings and roundabouts day-in, day-out merry-go-round.

Markets slash rate cut bets as US inflation climbs to 3.5% (FT 11 April)
Falling loan demand builds rate cut pressure as ECB prepares to meet (FT 9 April)
BoE rate-setter warns against rushing to cut interest rates (FT 27 March)
US Federal Reserve officials wary of cutting interest rates too quickly (FT 21 February)
Bank of England’s Andrew Bailey says rate cuts ‘in play’ in upbeat take on UK economy (FT 21 March)
Fed expects to make three rate cuts this year, say Jay Powell (FT 4 February)
Bank of England opens door to rate cuts but calls for ‘more evidence’ of falling inflation (FT 1 February)

You get the idea. I’m reminded of LibDem veteran economic expert Vince Cable – the man who was said to have predicted thirteen of the last three recessions.

‘Severe economic storms’ are forecast by Vince Cable – the only politician who saw the impending financial crisis in 2007 (Daily Mail November 2015)

Here’s one for the teenagers: Harold Wilson’s secret affair with Downing Street aide 22 years his junior (Daily Mail) plus extra helping of sauce with your breakfast care of the Mail: Confessions of a sex addict

Are you getting enough? – asks the formerly serious Times. It speaks of course of: Oily fish

Speaking of sauce and some of that much-loved now rather out of fashion innuendo based comedy – Keir Starmer goes On The Buses – there’s one for the teenagers…

Labour plans to fix UK buses… (‘i’) “Do you want a screwdriver?” “Not just now“, he told the attractive clippie “I’m busy trying to fix this engine

How so will you fix our bus services Sir Keir in this cunning plan of your’s?

…with public ownership of failing services (‘i’) – why, by ploughing more public cash into them, of course.

On a morning when the red tops get excited about the: Grand National (The Sun) – in this beleaguered ‘economic zone‘ as Rishi Sunak would term Britain and the FT delivers another of their alternating bum steers on interest rates – couldn’t tip rubbish as the old horse racing saying goes…

At least one can still say of the Financial Times that they know who they like and who they don’t – in terms of international leaders. For example Benjamin Netanyahu: Far right (FT)

This morning it is Hungary’s EU Asylum and Migration Pact critical leader Viktor Orbán in the FT’s liberal globalist hit job cross hairs: Sex abuse scandal opens chinks in Orbán’s armour – leaving aside both the annoying cryptic crossword clue style of the FT headline and the merits of any case against the Hungarian premier, isn’t it funny how these stories do tend to pop up?

So there you have it, today’s press review. Mr AsI can’t offer: 3 bottles of ‘laughing gas’ a day (freebie Metro) – but he does his best.

A sad story indeed: Coroner ruled… death in February last year was related to nitrous oxide (giveaway Metro)

It looks like this situation was due to issues with the online booking system that this practice has in place – unfortunately more and more practices around the country are phasing out the ability to phone for appointments and in its place you have to book online. My own practice, for instance, is stopping the ability to book appointments over the phone from May 15th, as if it wasn’t difficult enough already. I never did get to see a GP after my illness at the beginning of the year, and their online system is so badly designed it’s almost impossible to use, so I pray I won’t be needing their services again any time soon.

I count 16 articles on the BBC about Eid but not one mentioning the violence in Southall or the stabbing in Bordeaux yesterday.

Top story on the Europe News page is “The Indian men traumatised by fighting for Russia — Two men who were duped by agents into joining the war against Ukraine speak about their experiences.”

It’s more globalist agenda from the world-leading journalists at Take-A-Break e.g: “‘All kinds of armaments were waiting for us there,’ Mr Sebastian said. ‘I started enjoying the weapons like toys.’ But the brutal reality of the war hit him on the battlefield. Now, he is hoping to resume fishing.”

I think that many of us who watch GB News wonder where they get their supply of lefties from.
They almost all come over as raving extreme far left lunatics.
Amy, Rebecca Reid, Scarlett McGuire, James Schneider to name but a few.

I don’t watch bbbc or Sky News but when I did watch it I cannot recall ever seeing a proper right wing commentator on.
Shows like Question Time have a tame Transconservative on who is really a dripping wet libdem but I can’t remember the last time Farage was on QT

If GB News has to have these far lefties on then why doesn’t the rest of the lefty msm have some real righties on and not these Transconservatives.

Of course, we all know why. Ofcom is stuffed full of the far left ex bbbc types who possibly think they are somewhere in the middle and impartial.
Put a dozen of the likes of Patrick Christie or Neil Oliver into Ofcom to get some balance.
    It will never happen though.

Just had a call from IPSOS MORI, they are conducting a survey around BBC I Player showing programs from other TV providers.
Needless to say I thought it a very bad idea, but it was the phrasing of the questions that got to me.

Radio 5 Dead are now reporting on the news that the Bradford knifeman comes from Burnley! That’s odd, he was from Oldham before. Strangely, no mention of Bangladesh.

It’s almost as if the lying scum have some sort of agenda. What can it be?

…… but is obviously ‘hard of thinking’. NHS Waiting Lists. It simply does not occur to the Hard Far Left BBC that the also Leftish Labour loving NHS does not want to subvert a Conservative Government. Especially one where the PM is foolish enough to give Five Pledges just like the one Ed Miliband chiselled as his own gravestone as Party Leader.

Reuters reports that the widow of Alexei Navalny, the Russian dissident who died in a Siberian camp in February, has revealed that he secretly wrote an autobiography. It will be published later this year.

Wonder if it will be titled ‘Mein… something’?

OJ Simpson is dead. Here’s a juror in his case admitting 90% of the jury thought he committed murder but set him free to stick it to whitey.

The law is blind. Racist as hell, mind.

    And that was then.
