As an armchair general – when the Ukraine war is settled Britain won’t have to send £3billion borrowed tax money to the regime bank accounts – meaning next year the old will get the winter fuel allowance – upgraded … betcha …

TWoTWee Watch #1 – new voice presenting but he has done it before

BBC Verify could spare Ben Chu to present the World This Weekend but he did not verify correct an error that Kim Darroch (a favourite BBC contributor because he is a firm EUrophile – now there’s a surprise!) made in his contribution about the US and the President Elect Donald Trump. Sadly, I cannot remember what it was now. Maybe you heard it and can help my faulty memory.

6.45pm BBC news “The super high waves off Peru and Ecuador have been blamed on persistent winds off the coast of THE UNITED STATES”

    You what ?
Like as if Southern California is right next to Ecuador

In reality the distance is 4,000 miles
half of that is down the Mexico Pacific coastline, which is actually longer than the US one

BBC South America geography has historically been way way worse the customary awfulness that pervades the rest of their coverage.

Did Trump send the waves? are the waves DEI compliant?

Story from Ukraine/ Russia war, BBC not interested in it so far, for some reason..

Like me, you might have assumed the land pipelines running from Russia right through Ukraine to the EU, supplying Russian gas had long ago been turned off by Ukraine.
Well no, apparently one is still working.
But is about stop when the long term contract ends on December 31st.
Slovakia isn’t happy they’re losing their gas and have threatened to cut off supplying Ukraine with back up electricity, if they don’t agree another contract with Gazprom 🙂

Time for peace talks i think 🕊️

“Zelenskyy accuses Slovakia of opening ‘second energy front’ against Ukraine
Ukraine president’s criticism comes as Kyiv is expected to stop transit of Russian gas to Slovakia as planned on January 1.”

Eddy BBC reported it 7 days ago ..22 December 2024 Updated 23 December 2024

Slovakia PM Fico said they discussed supplies of Russian gas to Slovakia – which his country relies on.
Slovakia is due to expire at the end of this year and Ukraine has signalled its intention not to renew it.”

PM Fico added that Putin had confirmed he would be willing to continue to supply gas to Slovakia, although the Slovak leader said this would be “practically impossible” with Ukraine refusing to renew the gas transit deal.
      ..
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters it was a “complicated situation”, adding Russian gas is “necessary for the normal operation” of certain European countries’ economies.
Erik Kalinak, an MEP for Fico’s Smer party, defended the prime minister’s visit, saying he was merely trying to secure cheap gas imports for Slovakia.
The visit was also defended by the environment minister Tomas Taraba and the far-right Slovak National Party.
Slovakia and Hungary, which both depend on Russian gas, have raised concerns about the prospect of supplies being interrupted.

I wonder if UK Jewish population is being diluted by immigration
Google says 0.5% in 2021, someone says 300,000 in 1933, about 0.65% of the UK’s population.
“The UK Jewish population peaked in the 1950s at about 420,000, some 0.8 per cent of the whole.”
With inter marriage and the way you can convert to become Jewish will blur the figures

One interesting thing is that the BBC inserts TOKEN black people into British history
when the truth is until the 1940 it was almost zero
Yet it’s almost certain Jews came in with the Romans and William the Conqueror etc

Stew, just maybe my mother’s stories about my great-grandmother are true; it was told to me she was Jewish and came to the UK from the east. My late mother indicated ‘east’ with a sweep of the arm that went from the north pole to the equator!

The date of my maternal grandmother’s birthday, the only grandparent that I knew, ties in with the pogroms in Ukraine. It was said to me that this Jewish woman was a midwife who delivered my late mother. My mother became a Christian in her teens with a life-long friend, a class mate, and they attended an Anglican church in Highgate where they grew up together.

I, too, am a firm believer in Jeshua (Jesus) so I have transfered my allegiance out of the Jewish faith. A best friend from Primary School days, married a nominal Christian and his father, an Orthodox Jew, refused to attend the civil wedding and the reception. So my friend has ‘married out’ which dilutes the faith somewhat in the UK. Also, many UK Jews have made ‘aliyah’ which means returning to live in Israel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aliyah.

Am I Jewish in origin? I don’t know for sure. I intended to find out as I understand there is a synagogue in central West London that holds records of Jewish immigrants to the UK but just at that time the Pandemic struck and I never did anything about it. But I am a firm believer in the most famous Jew of all, one who divides the calendar by the date of His birth, the Lord Jesus Christ. 🙂
