“Managers and campaigners pledged “unwavering commitment” to trans people after they suffered “pain and concern” from the judgment, which will force the NHS to bar trans women – people born biologically male – from female-only wards and lavatories.”

It comes after the Telegraph revealed all 28 NHS hospital trusts in London were failing to provide women-only spaces, with policy exemptions that allowed trans women to share facilities with both female staff and patients.

Arrested under Section 18 of the Public Order Act.
“Section 18 of the Public Order Act relates to unlawful assembly, which occurs when three or more people gather and behave in a way that causes a reasonable fear of a breach of the peace.”
I would think the Hamas marches must come under this Act. Or is it that if there were thousands celebrating Hitlers birthday the police would have done nothing?
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Sunday reported “substantial progress” in U.S. talks with China’s top economic officials to de-escalate a damaging trade war, but offered no details of an agreement reached as two days of negotiations wrapped up in Geneva.
Bessent told reporters that details would be announced on Monday and that U.S. President Donald Trump was fully aware of the results of the “productive talks.”
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, who participated in the talks with Bessent, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and two Chinese vice ministers, described the conclusion as “a deal we struck with our Chinese partners” that will help reduce the $1.2 trillion U.S. global goods trade deficit.
“And this was, as the Secretary pointed out, a very constructive two days. It’s important to understand how quickly we were able to come to agreement, which reflects that perhaps the differences were not so large as maybe thought,” Greer said, adding that the Chinese officials were “tough negotiators”
The meeting was the first face-to-face interaction between Bessent, Greer and He since the world’s two largest economies imposed tariffs well above 100% on each other’s goods.
Although Bessent has said the bilateral tariffs were too high and needed to come down in a de-escalation move, he did not offer any details of reductions agreed and took no questions from reporters.
Earlier, White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said the Chinese were “very, very eager” to engage in discussions and rebalance trade relations with the United States.
Hassett also told Fox News that more foreign trade deals could be coming with other countries as soon as this week.
Overnight, Trump gave a positive reading of the talks, saying the two sides had negotiated “a total reset… in a friendly, but constructive, manner.”
“A very good meeting today with China, in Switzerland. Many things discussed, much agreed to,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
“We want to see, for the good of both China and the U.S., an opening up of China to American business. GREAT PROGRESS MADE!!!,” Trump added, without elaborating on the progress.
Speaking on “Sunday Morning Futures” on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo, Hassett said Beijing is eager to re-set trade relations with the United States.
“It looks like the Chinese are very, very eager to play ball and to re-normalize things,” Hassett said.
Hassett also said more trade deal announcements could be imminent following last week’s announcement of an agreement with the United Kingdom. He said he had been briefed by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on two dozen pending deals in development with USTR Greer.
“They all look a little bit like the UK deal but each one is bespoke,” Hassett said.
GATED VILLA
The negotiating teams met at the gated villa of Switzerland’s U.N. ambassador, overlooking Lake Geneva in the leafy suburb of Cologny. Black Mercedes vans with sirens shuttled to and from the venue, which was bathed in bright sunshine.
Neutral Switzerland was chosen as the venue following approaches by Swiss politicians on recent visits to China and the United States.
Washington is seeking to reduce its $295 billion goods trade deficit with Beijing and persuade China to renounce what the United States says is a mercantilist economic model and contribute more to global consumption, a shift that would require politically sensitive domestic reforms.

George Orwell
The weird priorities of the BBC as Amber Heard’s baby count and a suitcase full of hermit crabs trumps a US-China trade agreement.
Given that the BBC et al have spent the last couple of weeks claiming that Trump’s tariffs will lead to economic armageddon one might think that the US and China closing in on a deal would be headline news…apparently not. Guessing the BBC doesn’t want to admit all its frantic scaremongering was was much overdone given that we know Trump was always angling for a deal and the headline tariffs were just a starting point not the endgame. Similar with Canada….when Trump met Carney he was very diplomatic to him…the media immediately claimed Carney had played a blinder and had out-maneuvered Trump….but of course Trump is always like that in these meetings regardless of what he had said previously…unless you say something out of turn as did Zelensky.
I imagine when a deal is finally sealed the BBC will report China is the winner due to it out-thinking and out-maneuvering Trump.
Remarkable that the BBC completely ignores the story of Julian Foulkes’s arrest by the ‘thought-police’ and their subsequent admission that there was no crime to answer for.
Last time they did mention him was back in 2010 when his daughter was killed in a car accident…
‘A 21-year-old woman from the Medway towns in Kent has been killed outside a nightclub in Ibiza.
Francesca Foulkes, of Rainham, suffered fatal injuries when she was hit by a suspected hit-and-run driver in San Antonio in the early hours of Sunday.
Her father, Julian Foulkes, a special constable with Kent Police, has paid tribute to a “wonderful person”.’
But as he’s a suspicious ‘brexity type’ reading Douglas Murray books…nah…not worth a second look.
You might think that the BBC would be out to tackle abhorrent police behaviour, possibly corrupt behaviour in that they seem to have taken it upon themselves to monitor and censure our thoughts and have become highly politicised and ideological.
Not a lot of ‘holding power to account’ at the BBC in regard to the police as they slowly morph into the enemy of the public rather than its guardians. The police have become an arm of leftwing politicians and lobby groups, in thrall to ideologies that are far from the mainstream that are potentially harmful to society. They are rapidly losing the trust and respect of that mainstream.
Britain is slowly morphing into a Soviet-type state with police, media and politicians being unaccountable and working in tandem to crush and suppress inconvenient thoughts and expression.

According to AI the following are signs that you are living in a police state. To me we are not that far from one.
Living in a police state can be characterized by several signs, including:
Excessive Surveillance: Widespread monitoring of citizens through cameras, phone tapping, and internet surveillance without consent or oversight.
Limited Freedom of Expression: Restrictions on speech, press, and assembly, including censorship of media and suppression of dissenting opinions.
Arbitrary Arrests: Law enforcement agencies detaining individuals without due process, often based on political beliefs or activism.
Militarization of Police: Use of military-grade equipment and tactics by police forces, leading to a more aggressive approach to law enforcement.
Lack of Judicial Independence: Courts that are controlled or heavily influenced by the government, undermining fair trials and legal protections.
Harassment of Activists: Targeting of political dissidents, human rights advocates, and protestors through intimidation, violence, or legal action.
Disregard for Civil Liberties: Erosion of rights such as privacy, freedom of movement, and the right to a fair trial.
Propaganda and Misinformation: State-controlled media that disseminates propaganda to shape public perception and suppress dissent.
Fear and Intimidation: A general atmosphere of fear among the populace, where individuals are afraid to speak out or engage in political activities.
Unjust Laws and Policies: Implementation of laws that disproportionately target specific groups or restrict fundamental rights.
UK Government using Netflix as a source of policy followed by Marcus Rashford (footballer who crashed car) and Greta who skipped school.
