Illegal working and streams of taxis – BBC gains rare access inside asylum hotels
Sue Mitchell BBC File on 4 Investigates Published 23 September 2025, 06:07 BST
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwy8ee2w73jo

    The BBC investigation found:

Smoke alarms covered with plastic bags (GRENFELL, RISKING OTHER PEOPLES LIVES) as residents cooking meals used electric hobs in bathrooms

One asylum seeker who told us he had taken a 250-mile journey to visit a GP, with the driver telling him the cost to the Home Office (TAX PAYER NOT HOME OFFICE) was £600

A 12-year-old girl living in a hotel who had spent three-quarters of her life in the asylum system. “Once we get settled in a place, then they move us,” she said

Some asylum seekers saying they had no choice but to work illegally for as little as £20 a day to pay off debts to people smugglers (PAYING SMUGGLERS, SMASH THE GANGS)

Mohammed fixed up a job before he even hit UK soil, he says, as his cousin was already here and working illegally. He is now earning £20 a day for shifts that he says can last 10 hours, sometimes longer.

Trump knows how to press the BBC’s buttons….but he ain’t wrong….the green zealots and invasion by people who don’t have our values and would love to see the West collapse will destroy the West….shame the BBC is fully onboard with both those causes and promotes them religiously.

Fascinating how some in the media are suddenly presenting a new narrative about migrants in hotels….it’s terrible, an awful way to live…so badly treated….the BBC claiming migrants were forced to cook their meals in a shower because they had no kitchen…yeah…forgetting to tell us that they are in a hotel in which all their meals are provided and cooking in their rooms is not allowed for safety reasons.

The BBC tells us that it has gained special access to the hotels…yeah of course…the government wants the BBC and Times etc to spread a completely different line that presents the cushy lives the migrants lead in these hotels as a hell on earth….we should not want them out, they are victims, we must feel sorry for them.

This is the nudge unit at work…and shame on the BBC and Times etc for agreeing to become the government’s mouthpiece promoting their disinformation.

This is pure propaganda…there’s a good reason the BBC got that ‘rare access’…..

‘Migrants cooking meals in dangerous conditions in their rooms and evidence of black market work have been uncovered by the BBC, in rare access inside asylum hotels.

We went into four hotels, witnessing first-hand the lives of asylum seekers – some of whom have been living in cramped rooms for years and, in that time, have given birth to babies.

Migrants who had been moved from one part of the country to another told us they were sometimes forced to travel long distances back to attend NHS appointments in taxis costing hundreds of pounds.’

      Why ‘nudge’?
It is called ‘nudge’ after the book by Richard Thaler (who went on to win the Nobel prize in economics) and Cass Sunstein which set out how people are not the rational economic actors beloved of conventional economic theory – but can be influenced by “choice architecture” into making better choices in their own interests.
      https://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/article/explainer/nudge-unit

making better choices in their own interests – YET BEING NUDGED! – making choices, someone elses choices

The approach depends a lot on experimentation, and the Nudge Unit has championed wider use of experiments in government.

17 July 2019 “Google’s prototype Chinese search engine had previously been labelled “disturbing” by one former employee.

Dragonfly had attracted criticism as a potential means through which Chinese authorities could censor web content and monitor citizens’ behaviour online.

In late 2018, Google seemed reluctant to confirm that development of the search engine had been completely stopped, despite growing pressure on the firm.

Work on Dragonfly at that point was “limited”, chief executive Sundar Pichai told the US House Judiciary Committee in December.

According to documents obtained by investigative news site The Intercept, Dragonfly was launched as a company project in the spring of 2017.

The documents also suggested that Google engineers were at one point working on ways to filter out websites – including the BBC and Wikipedia – from search results, based on web censorship in China.”

Last year, Nigel Farage and Reform just didn’t have the coverage they needed to get seats, while everyone else, who wanted to see the back of Sunka, and the others, like Starmer and the ridiculous ‘greens’, weren’t ready for the way that the huge rolling stone of Reform could actually get a result!

So they sadly voted Lib Dem…

We’re stuck with this utterly failed bunch, at least until the IMF put a stop to the economic disaster the Lefties have created, so my bet is still 2027, and possibly earlier – and I don’t even do the lottery!

Ed Davey won’t have a chance then, and we will be back to the Grimond days when all they got was a couple of seats somewhere in the Arctic circle, and a small dog on a village council near Carlisle.

    BBBC 1 6 pm news.
    I rather enjoyed it.
Reporting on the trump UN speech, you could almost feel them about to self-combust.
Of course it moved into classic BBC Trump-hate with BBCVerify dredged up to pour scorn on selected Trump remarks in selective ways. Whilst conveniently avoiding the huge areas where he is basically right.
I think what irks them so much is when he tells inconvenient truths, such as Europe buying oil from Russia, or Europe having open door immigration problems. They attack him for being wrong on specifics, conveniently ignoring that he is right on the general trends. He may be wrong about Sharia law in London ( for now) and boy does the BBC want you to know that. But conveniently they forget to mention the gradual islamification absolutely proved by data from successive censuses.
A great example of BBC bias and why MAGA and Reform are riding high- many people now see right through the patronising, sanctimonious, transparent veneer of the Left.

We don’t give a shiny sh*t what you think ‘Esme Stallard’ of the BBC. How dare you and the BBC use their enormous resources to push your own personal views on the rest of us. Many of us consider all of your far-Left opinions are so steeped in group-think agenda, they are utterly worthless to anyone seeking the truth.

Despite pleading guilty to assault and being in possession of a ‘bladed article’, Kadri was handed a suspended sentence of just 20 weeks. No jail time. The judge said he had “lost his temper”.

Hamit, meanwhile, is living in hiding, having been warned by the police that there are several credible threats to his life.

This sentence will do nothing to dispel the suspicion that Britain has a two-tier criminal justice system. Had a knife-wielding white male pleaded guilty to attacking a Muslim for breaching a Christian blasphemy code, you can bet your bottom dollar he would have gone to prison.”

We’ll stop Farage turning UK into Trump’s America, says Davey
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g7py75g0ko

So look at your headline BBC and what your hero of the Lib Dems had to say:

‘Painting a nightmarish vision of what he claimed life would be like under a Farage government, he sought to portray the Lib Dems as the guardians of British values of “tolerance, decency, and respect”.’

‘But in a 49 minute speech, he mentioned Farage 31 times and repeatedly claimed the Reform leader wanted to turn Britain into a “Trump-inspired country”.’

And then tell us who are the ones creating the hate and divide in this country. Hint : it’s you.

Trump was elected by a landslide. He is the best example in history of the will of the people using democracy to call for dramatic change. And all you can do is sneer and snipe. And the whole country has to pay you to do it. You are pathetic.

TTB fosters positive masculinity and emotional well-being by challenging harmful stereotypes, creating safe spaces for boys, and engaging with schools and parents. He was driving his £700,000 Rolls-Royce Wraith, which suffered extensive damage, though Rashford himself was unhurt. The crash happened when a 74-year-old lady merged into his lane, causing the collision. The car was later sold at auction, bought by YouTuber Mat Armstrong, who then spent over £300,000 to restore it.
