I listen to less and less of Radio 4 these days. Here are some recent examples of why.

Tonight’s 7 pm brief news: guess what they led with. You’d be forgiven for coming up with Badenoch’s speech to the Tory Conference; or the political crisis in France; or maybe Gaza developments. In fact, it was Doreen Lawrence – again – complaining that D Norris, who was in a gang who murdered her son Stephen in 1993, had not had to face her and account for himself. And this over 32 years after the event! “Queen Anne is dead” as they used to say.

Tonight’s Front Row (arts programme): the lovely Kirsty Wark led with a new production about menopausal women in Hebden Bridge getting together to form a punk band. I’ll leave it there.

Tuesday’s Front Row (7:15 pm): Nick Ahad interviewed Marina Abramovich about some show she’s doing involving Balkan and E European sexual rituals. There were some odd noises/humming and a history of certain practices, such as women exposing their v*gin*s to ward off evil spirits. Sex-obsessed Marina thinks that we of the early 21st century are too judgemental (sic) and should be more open to these old rituals involving the body. Fried placenta for supper tonight, anyone?

In The Archers, a list of all the PC threads would be tedious. So just one example: we have long had gay male relationships, such as publican and village cricket captain Sean Myerson a while ago, and the marriage and rearing of a child by farmer Adam Macy and his partner Ian, a chef from Ulster. More recently we’ve had a gay female pairing, with older farm manager Stella taking up with Pip Archer, who had previously had out of wedlock a baby Rosie by Toby Fairbrother.

With ethnic minorities now well represented (the Muslim Malik family, lawyer Usha Franks [nee Gupta] married to the White vicar Alan, gay Black Paul at the Vet’s, Paul’s vet assistant mother Denise remarrying to White vet Alastair Lloyd, etc) the next logical step you might guess would be an interracial gay relationship.

You would not be wrong. Ruari (Brian Aldridge’s illegitimate son by the deceased Siobhan) appeared to be bisexual in earlier times, even acting as a gigolo to an older businesswoman in London when a student. He is now embarking on a gay relationship with Paul …

    I will leave it there.

On Dewbs, Mark Francois more or less said Reform only cared about immigration and had no other policies.

While Reform do have other policies, stopping net zero/bin id cards and others why don’t people understand that immigration plays a huge part in all the other main concerns.

Housing..our shortage of housing is increasing with hundreds of thousands increasing the population every year.

NHS..all these new people need treatments and dentals which they get for free on the nhs creating longer lists. They are not all doctors as the government implies.

Crime/prisons..they are well over represented in the crime numbers and prison inmates, each prisoner costs something like £50k per year. Whether it’s grooming gangs, machete fights or our women frightened to go out. It’s also having a bad effect on the night time entertainment/pubs industries closing through lack of trade.

The Economy..the costs of the millions of enrichers is in the £billions. Even those working cash in hand are stopping our youths from their first step into working.

There are so many aspects to the mass immigration we voted against but was forced on us and they affect everything and eventually they will take over.

And what do we get……goat curry.

It might be headed Immigration but its effects must directly and indirectly account for about 75% of the voters concerns because it effects everything else.

I find this really difficult to get to grips with…

According to an organisation called, The Museum of Homelessness, more than 1600 people died due to being homeless in Britain during 2024. The stat’s include those sleeping rough as well as those in emergency accommodation and those that died due to drugs, but even so, it’s a fantastic number. What’s even more tragic is that eleven children were among their number. But how is this possible?

What I mean is, we have a seemingly endless supply of hotels available for the flotsam and jetsam of the third world that wash up every day on our shores. This constant tide of human detritus has no affiliation with our nation. They have no cultural, historical or religious links, we’re just a soft touch…easy pickings…but we still put a roof over their heads and feed them…

And so very often those illegal ingrates return our hospitality by molesting, raping, robbing and committing mass murder.

As so often happens lately I’m reminded of the late great Enoch Powell who said. “Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad.”

    Absolute Bedlam…

We live in a world in which, not just individuals, but whole swathes of the population, are not just reluctant to accept, but physically incapable of accepting, factual information which disagrees with their firmly held (if irrational) world views.

We live in a post rational, post scientific, post intellectual era, where quantitative information (numbers, facts and figures) is less valued, and percevied to be less ‘real’ than qualitative information which agrees with ‘accepted wisdom’, which has been endorsed by the ‘anointed’.

Maybe, it can be seen as a new ‘religious era’, one in which the old world religions have mostly been rejected, like science, rationality, and intellectual debate, with a new cult, or rather cluster of cults, which include a very odd (and self contradictory) blend of: global warming alarmism, champaigne socialism, racial caste system, transgenderism (which has nearly completely ousted it’s rival, feminism), pansexuality, and (age old) Islam.

A few days ago Islamic Hamas – through their BbC spokesman – claimed they didn’t have total control over the 28? Live ones and the location of some buried remains could not be identified …
Clearly the recovery of the live hostages – all – is vital – before the IDF resume a full scale flattening of East Israel – including the remaining bunkers …

The BBC treats Islamic Hamas as a logical coherent entity when it really is a monster with one aim – the killing of every Jew / Christian and the destruction of Israel … however it is dressed up …

Sarah Smith’s analysis of the fantastic news of the ceasefire is that Trump wants all the credit for it, that he has worked hard to make it happen right now because the Nobel Peace Prize is to be announced very shortly and he is desperate to win it, and that he will be furious if he doesn’t win it.

What is painfully apparent is how furious Sarah Smith will be if Trump does win it. Her reporting of one of the greatest political achievements of recent years ignores its historical significance and is fixated on Trump’s character. Biased and warped reporting from a journalist I have never thought was much good.

Obama has been at war for longer than any other president in US history. The secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Geir Lundestad, said in 2015 that awarding the prize to Obama failed to achieve what the committee hoped it would. “Even many of Obama’s supporters believed that the prize was a mistake,” he says.

In an amusing anecdote, Mr Lundestad relates how he found Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, who won the award in 1994, watching an episode of the Tom and Jerry cartoon in his hotel with other Palestine Liberation Organisation members. “It was made very clear that they intended to watch until the end,” he said.

Not to be confused with Davros a fictional character from the long-running BBC science fiction tv series Doctor Who. Imelda Romualdez Marcos is a Filipino politician who was First Lady of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986, wielding significant political power after her husband Ferdinand Marcos placed the country under martial law in September 1972. She is the mother of current president Bongbong Marcos.

      …………………..

Marcos’s presidential campaign received criticism from fact-checkers and disinformation scholars, who found his campaign to be driven by historical negationism aimed at rehabilitating the Marcos brand and smearing his rivals. His campaign has also been accused of whitewashing the human rights abuses and plunder, estimated at 5 to 13 billion dollars, that took place during his father’s presidency.

In 1970, Marcos was sent to England where he lived and studied at Worth School, an all-boys Benedictine institution in West Sussex.[27][28] He was studying there when his father declared martial law throughout the Philippines in 1972.[27][28]

Have Russians set up a military base in my childhood home?
    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4gj7p96nd0o

And todays winner in the hotly-contested BBC competiton for ‘Who can come up with the most narcissistic, irrelevant non-story’ goes to Vitaly Shevchenko.

Here we are led to believe his beloved childhood home has been curelly snatched from his family by the evil Russians and made into a full-on military base.

My first though was it must have been more of an estate that a simple house.

Anyway, I quickly realise Vitaly doesn’t have any idea if they have, he just saw a new footpath while browsing Google Earth instead of working at the BBC. That’s the beauty of forced funding : you get paid even if you don’t do anything.

So I was beginning to think Vitaly was just making it up. Then he lets slip: ‘but I visited Verkhnya Krynytsya at least once a year before it was occupied, and saw the house sitting apparently abandoned, its garden overgrown.’

OK so the Russians MIGHT be using derelict houses. That’s the story.

But in true BBC style, Vitaly does his absolute best to load the story with empathy with lines such as:
‘One of my earliest memories is of local women singing Ukrainian folk songs as the sun was setting into the Kakhovka on a warm summer evening.’
Did you Vitaly ?. Or did you make that up like all your colleagues do ?.

How desperate are the BBC to churn out lengthy nonsense like this as front-page headlines ?. The only useful thing I get from it is that it proves Russia are winning and the BBC have done their usual trick of trying to divert our attention from the real story using empathy porn.

And clearly Vitaly has f*ck all else to do.

It makes me sad to see my home town turning into the same multicultural shithole as everywhere else. When I went for a train last week, I looked around and I could just as easily have been in Africa instead of England.

Spend ridiculous amounts on metal ‘sculptures’ from trendy arty types and plant them at random locations. I saw one, had a guess what it cost then discovered it was treble that.

Spend ridiculous amounts on gimmiky water features on the pavement which will be guaranteed to be non-functional eyesores in 10 years.

Spend all the money to develop the relatively unused area which tourists will like near the water. Leave the main city centre and everything useful to the locals as the same shithole it was.
