I went to a meeting today and over lunch was sitting next to a charming young lady who told me her parents spoke Punjabi. She told me she was from Yorkshire using the expression which Scottish police were investigating a Reform councillor for using. What I couldn’t explain was why its use is now not allowed.

I don’t understand how anyone can say free speech still exists in the UK. I think this lady only watches the MSM and really didn’t know the expression could cause a police investigation. How is anyone supposed to know what is and isn’t permitted.

Yes. The train crash ahead is becoming more blatantly obvious when all factors are considered. Only this morning I am alerted to a package arriving from Ebay via EVRI. Only problem being, the package was delivered that and another one, last week. This negligent behaviour whether human/AI is symptomatic of the collective deterioration now all too common. The banks? Right now, their Fraud concerns embrace a growing number of scenarios such that I had to abandon a purchase a few days ago when a Santander Fraud zealot (no doubt having taken the Ed Millibrain advanced course on maximising Brainless Zealatory) presented so many hurdles it became nonsensical and illogical.

The Country is now very obviously imploding. With the banks, the cracks are really appearing now. Probably the reason, given the zeal why they are thwarting so many purchases to retain the customers capital for the Bail-in’s shortly to manifest themselves as they collapse. That’ll be total organised crash by-far worse that anything seen before even the 30’s in the US. To help the crash they’ve even reduced the Capital Ratios UK banks are held too. Be prepared to enter the jungle with your fiat, fastly becoming worthless, paper currency.

Update on Sandford who seems to receive just 1 Like for his tweets
People in the court on Monday say Sandford approached the judge
and then next thing is Ezra Levant is called up for Live TRweeting and asked to stop

Sandford has now on Tuesday replied to @Grok AI who had said Sandford informed the judge about Ezra

This is a lie. It is completely inaccurate. I had nothing to do with the judge’s interventions on Monday or Tuesday.
Tommy Robinson and Ezra Levant accused me.
    But they were wrong.
You should stop repeating the untruth or I may consider legal action against Grok

    One reply says
Why didn’t you say: “I didn’t complain to the judge and I support Ezra as a fellow journalist
and was disappointed to see that he couldn’t continue to tweet”?
That would have cleared it up.

I see Sandford tweeted the same “It is a lie” tweet to Grok 4 times

I wonder how good Trump is at chess. Israel has got back its living hostages. Perhaps Trump knew that Hamas would not return the bodies, they have said before they didn’t know where some of them were. Now Trump says if they are not returned, Hamas is finished. Perhaps this was his plan all along.

      Deborah,
I think that Hamas have been forced to agree the terms of the ceasefire or peace deal by their Arab backers who in turn have been heavily lent on by President Trump .
I just don’t see how Hamas could otherwise possibly have agreed to releasing the living hostages , their only real hold on Israel, to disarming and to playing no further role in the governance of Gaza.
They are unlikely to deliver on all aspects of the deal and Israel will be able to complete their destruction .
What Trump threatened or promised the Arab Hamas backers is an open question but it must have been persuasive!

Bowen: Trump’s role in Gaza ceasefire was decisive, but not a roadmap to peace
    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce86118q6ego

So after we got Maitliss doing her best to say it was all Tony Blair’s doing and definitely NOt Trump, we get Bowen writing lengthy front-page BBC articles telling us Trump only played a small part in getting this ceasefire when really it was all the others who did it.

    First the sneering:
‘Donald Trump’s quick trip to Israel and Egypt was the victory lap he wanted.
Anyone watching the speeches he made in Jerusalem and Sharm el-Sheikh could see a man luxuriating in his power – enjoying the applause in Israel’s parliament, and in Egypt, basking in the fact that so many heads of state and government had flown in.’

Then after several attempt to remove credit from Trump, we get the lies: First of course we are told of what Israel did:

‘This morning its soldiers killed Palestinians who they said were approaching their forces. Palestinian Civil Defence in Gaza told the BBC that seven people were killed in two incidents.’

Then faterwards (as if it is less important), he describes what Hamas have done (along with an inference Israel are at fault for it):
‘It has attacked rival armed clans, some of which have been protected by the IDF. Videos have circulated of Hamas killing blindfolded and kneeling men who they have accused of collaborating with the Israelis.’

Not killing Bowen, it was cold blooded murder. And 33 people. Why not tell us how many ?. Why not show us the picture everyone else has ?.

Another Bowens lies by false equivalence. Shooting potential terrorists approaching a military position and NOT the same as shooting 33 people on their knees in the back of their heads.

Not even remotely comparable Bowen you terrorist supporting liar.

        “Dear
        @BBC ,

On the 14th of October you uploaded an interview to your website and app with a woman named as Aida Abu Rob distraught about the fact that after 20 years in prison her brother is being deported not released in Ramallah.

Your video fails to give any information about who Murad is and what he did. Your journalist doesn’t even give his full name let alone inform the public of this important context. I found out that he was responsible for a suicide bombing in 2006 that murdered four people.

The piece appears to offer an equivalence between the family of a terrorist with the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade who was tried in court and Israeli hostages kidnapped and by Hamas and other terror orgs due to no fault of their own.

You have failed to inform the public of the context, you have failed to offer balance and as a result have likely increased sympathy for a man who was responsible for the murders of four people. How do you think the families of his victims feel at his release?

Why didn’t your staff think to ask who the brother was and then they could have provided the necessary context? Why didn’t any of your other stuff who worked on that video and then promoted it think to raise any concerns?

This is a failure not just from the journalist on the ground but through the entirety of the team and their management who oversaw the processing and uploading of the video to a prominent place on your website and app.

At the very least you should be making it clear that Murad and other released prisoners have been convicted of some terrible crimes that warranted long sentences in prison. That would have given a more honest view of the situation.

What are you going to do to redress this?”

Hamas killed multitudes of men, women and children, raped women, took more hostages back to the home fires where some were ‘released quickly’ but others ‘died’ in the following years. Apparently.

And now they are drip feeding Hamas drip returning body parts as they test agreed security zones to provide morons in keffiyehs, and the BBC ME editor, with enough to edit the necessary subheads free of context or accuracy.

3000 acres of prime farmland given over to a Solar Farm in Lincolnshire.

I wonder on such a scale what heat is radiated. Houses for miles around will suffer increased heat in the air where once the ground could absorb heat from sunlight but now will be radiated like a concrete city.

    • MarkyMark says:

Yes, solar farms can cause or increase rain runoff, especially if not designed with proper drainage, because the impervious panels can concentrate rainfall and block natural absorption. However, this effect can be managed by incorporating drainage strategies like swales, filter drains, or planting grassed strips between the panels to slow down and absorb water, minimizing potential increases in runoff volume and erosion.

Yes, solar farms can leach chemicals, primarily in the event of panel disposal, where heavy metals like lead and cadmium can be released into the soil.

      • It is highly unlikely that the land could
return to agriculture in 40 years time.

The bigger risk is from the Battery Energy Storage Site associated with the solar farm. Notice that no figures are offered for the amount of subsidy these near useless eyesores generate.

Over 70% of the larcenous solar farms are foreign owned (even notionally British solar farms are domiciled in Jersey, Guernsey, IoM etcetera) and not obligated to publish the financial metrics – it’s a near complete piece of banditry.

Now should you happen to be in a regular courtroom listening to the lines of questioning by the two counsels you’d be a bit dim if you couldn’t pick out which barrister was acting for the prosecution and which for the defence.

It took about two minutes of reading from the BBC report to know the case being promoted by the Covid Inquiry counsel was quite obviously that old Keir Starmer mantra on Lockdown: “Sooner, Harder, Longer”.

In the dock was former education secretary Gavin Williamson (Tory). And whereas our present Ed Sec (Bridget Phillipson) has her own “delusional” theories on teaching the subjects of history and international relations (it was Britain that brought peace to Gaza) it was our Gavin who was meanwhile getting pilloried – not for shutting the schools – but for not having a detailed plan for closing them fast enough and for daring to suggest they might reopen sooner.

Oh, and another thing. You’ll remember how the “A” Level exams got cancelled? The Tory was in the naughty chair for not allowing the teachers to declare all pupils would have scored an A.

What could he say in his defence? Blame the boss, I guess.

Boris did harm our kids… Tory Williamson blasts Johnson’s ‘damaging’ last minute schools flip-flop (Mirror)

It only took them five years to admit they messed up. Tory toff Gavin Williamson admits his plan to shut our schools during Covid was decided in just 24 hours (Star)

And if you’re a big fan of the notion of well-funded pointless pre-determined outcome regime whitewash misdirected judge-led national inquiries – they’ve got another doozy lined up fo’ yer… eventually…

SpaceX delivers update on Starship V3 ahead of final V2 launch

    Ship V3
    1. Raptor 3s
    2. Better energy storage (batteries, which means longer duration missions)
    3. Redesigned Propulsion system (improved durability + likely additional systems like dampeners and accumulators as permanent solutions to harmonic resonance)
    4. Upgraded avionics (better onboard flight computers to allow for better flexibility and likely software/sensor upgrades to accommodate rendezvous for refueling and precise tower catches.
    5. Upgraded catch pins that can better survive reeentry
    6. Tapered heat shield edges to lessen hotspots
    7. Relocated Starlink terminals
    8. Docking ports.
    9. 100T of extra fuel capacity

    Booster V3
    1. Integrated hotstage for actual FULL re usability instead of dumping the HSR overboard every flight. Bigger vent area that future-proofs the booster when it accommodates 9-engine Starships
    2. Bigger grid fins that doubles as catch points.
    3. Fatter and more durable downcomers to facilitate higher fuel flow, simultaneous engine relights, more flexible engine-out capability.
    4. Raptor 3 (more thrust, better efficiency, lighter, which helps reduce gravity losses and helps the booster reach higher staging velocities, which means the Ship has to do less work compensating, thus vastly increasing payload capacity)
    5. Aft heatshield to accommodate higher reentry velocities since the booster will now stage at higher speeds.
    6. Double QD ports for faster refueling
    7. Larger tanks for more even more delta V.
    8. Recessed grid fin motors (allows more space for even more fuel, likely also helps in cooling down the grid fin motors, thus increasing reliability)
    9. Engine shielding is removed. Lessening weight and lowering the risk of methalox accumulation that might cause engine bay fires/explosions.

In case you missed it. Kicked into the long grass, there are often a couple of interesting stories in the local BBC news that aren’t important enough to make the national headlines.

Have been noticing a spate of this kind of story recently:
    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c3ep9j2zv1wo

Photos and names are rare… usually it’s anonymous ‘men’ who are responsible.

    and these:

Occasionally, the offending taxi drivers are actually charged, and named, which can be illuminating. They obviously don’t like cleaning up all that dog hair in the back seat, as a dog owner myself, I can understand their reluctance… or not.

and an alarming number of local churches spontaneously combusting too, don’t recall that happening previously, nor in the often several hundred year history of these buildings. Must be a result of global warming.

    OFCOM asks for input:

Ofcom is today seeking views following a request from the BBC to make three updates to its Operating Licence.
In order to help it progress its savings and reinvestment plans over the next two years, the BBC has requested Ofcom update certain Operating Licence conditions that relate to network current affairs, BBC Local Radio, and BBC Radio 5 Live.
In line with our responsibility to ensure the BBC is delivering for all audiences and fulfilling its Mission and Public Purposes, we have carried out an initial assessment of the changes and are minded to approve the BBC’s request.
Annual peak viewing time current affairs quota
Under the BBC’s proposal, the overall quota for the volume of current affairs on BBC One and BBC Two (450 hours) would remain the same, but a new quota with a guaranteed minimum number of hours of first-run, UK original current affairs programming during peak times would be introduced.
Specifically, the BBC has requested to replace its current affairs joint peak time quota across BBC One and BBC Two — which stands at 106 hours, including a minimum of 45 hours on BBC One – with a single, combined quota of 70 hours of first-run content during peak time.
The BBC states that if this quota is maintained in its current form, it would have to increase its reliance on repeats to meet the quota, which would not be in the interests of viewers.
Taking this into account, along with the shift in audience behaviour towards on-demand viewing and the need for quotas to remain relevant, we are minded to approve this change.
BBC Local Radio shared programming window
The BBC has requested to amend the times of the day during which programming shared between neighbouring BBC Local Radio stations can count towards its quota for original, locally made programming (4,954 hours per year).
The request is intended to enable BBC local radio stations to focus resources on producing more original, locally made programming during higher listening hours, particularly weekday mornings. It does not impact the BBC’s delivery of local news bulletins – the requirement to offer these will remain the same.
Currently, shared programming between stations only counts towards the quota if it is broadcast between 6am and 7pm. In practice, this means that the BBC needs to put resources into producing locally made content when fewer people listen. The BBC would like to be able to focus these resources towards times when more people listen.
The BBC therefore proposes that shared programming should not count towards the quota if broadcast between 6am and 2pm on weekdays—when more audiences are listening. Only shared programming broadcast outside this window would contribute to the quota.
Taking into account that this would enable the BBC to bring more locally made programming to greater numbers of listeners, while maintaining flexibility in lower-listening periods, we are minded to approve this request.
    Radio 5 Live reporting requirement
The BBC has requested to remove the requirement to report the number of hours of live commentary provided for each sport on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Under the proposal, there would be no change to the BBC’s requirement to cover at least 20 different sports annually – and to set out what these are – to maintain transparency and support distinctiveness.
The BBC states that the burden of reporting on the number of hours per sport is disproportionate to the benefit of doing so. We agree that it offers limited value, particularly as much of this information is already publicly available through schedules. We are, therefore, minded to accept this request.

ILeadership of Regulatory Enforcement at OfcomAt Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator, regulatory enforcement—including investigations into breaches of rules across sectors like postal services, telecoms, broadcasting, and online safety—is overseen by the Senior Management Team (SMT), which forms the core of the Policy and Management Board. While the Chief Executive, Dame Melanie Dawes, holds ultimate accountability for the organization’s enforcement activities, day-to-day leadership falls under specialized directors.Key Figure: Suzanne Cater, Director of EnforcementRole and Responsibilities: Suzanne Cater is the Director of Enforcement, heading Ofcom’s dedicated enforcement division. She leads investigations, compliance monitoring, and penalty actions under regulatory frameworks such as the Communications Act 2003 and the Postal Services Act 2011. This includes high-profile cases like fines on Royal Mail for delivery failures and emerging enforcement under the Online Safety Act 2023 (OSA). Her team handles regulatory, consumer protection, and competition-related enforcement, prioritizing voluntary compliance but pursuing formal action (e.g., fines up to 10% of global revenue) against non-compliant entities.
Background: Cater joined Ofcom from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), where she was Director of Strategy, Policy, International, and Intelligence in the Enforcement and Market Oversight division. She has extensive experience in regulatory investigations and has been instrumental in building Ofcom’s enforcement capacity, recruiting over 350 staff (including from Meta, Microsoft, and Google) to prepare for OSA implementation.
Recent Focus: In 2025, Cater has emphasized “the year of action” for enforcement, particularly online harms, with programs targeting age assurance, illegal content, and telecom switches. She has stated Ofcom’s “bias against intervention” but readiness to use criminal powers against senior executives if needed.

Broader OversightGroup Director for Markets and Consumer: This role (currently held by individuals like Liz McIntyre in related consumer areas) supports enforcement through policy on markets, competition, and consumer issues, including postal regulation.
Content-Specific Enforcement: For broadcasting standards, Alison Pritchard, Director of Standards and Audience Protection, leads enforcement via the Content Board, handling complaints and sanctions for TV/radio breaches.
Strategic Direction: The Ofcom Board, chaired by Lord Michael Grade, provides high-level governance, with non-executive members like Karen Baxter (from FCA enforcement) advising on enforcement strategy.

The Oxford kid has been arrested for inciting racial hatred … if charged … does he get bail ? … does he get a lawyer who tells him to plead guilty for a short / community sentence ?( home by Christmas )?

…. Or does he get bailed pending ‘inquiries ‘ then the case dropped when no one is looking …. Because he is pro Hamas – pro Islam …. TTK …

Compare his words to those of the Connelly lady who was handed 30 months.

It will be fascinating to see if he gets convicted for incitement to violence and murder at least and if so what the sentencing will be, if it’s proportional to the Connolly woman’s I estimate he would be looking at around 5 years or so.

But that’s fantasy land, he is full lefty and also appears to come from the right “stock”….. whereas she had Tory connections….

His problem is he is pale and male. Now if he were an Oxford wimmin then stabbing your boyfriend is clearly an empowered deed as the 2T judge says you should not be punished with such a glittering career ahead of you.

We need a DOGE by Musk to clear this list of sniveling civil-servants. OfCom is a waste of public money and serves no obvious purpouse other than to exonerate the BBC of and blame for false reporting, bias, and recruiting from a very narrow Ad in the Guardian.

The UK government is expected to link cyber-attacks which accessed personal details of millions of voters to China.
The attacks on the Electoral Commission took place in August 2021 but were only revealed last year.
Several MPs and peers who have been critical of Beijing are thought to have also been targeted in cyber-attacks.
The prime minister called China “the greatest state-based challenge to our national security”.
Rishi Sunak said: “China represents an economic threat to our security and an epoch-defining challenge.
“So it is right we take steps to protect ourselves.””
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68652374

And a year before, an unusual parliamentary interference alert was issued regarding the activities of UK-based lawyer Christine Lee.

MI5 alleged she had been carrying out political interference activities including donating funds to support the work of MPs. This was all said to be on behalf of China.
