Ha ha ha – Fed and Uppers!

I was actually doing just that – I’m the only bloke in the UK who’s organising a BBQ this Friday, so today was spent getting everything ready, and a box-set of ‘Hustle’, followed by a ‘Minder’ was the antidote to tiredness, and a general depletion of the tincture intake…

Just to say, ‘Talk’ was on fire earlier about all the real victims of the rape gang cover-up leaving the cast, as it’s clear that the knobs in gummint have their grubby hands on the tiller, and are trying everything to delay the investigation to keep their voters happy in suspect cities.

This one will run and run, and the bBC will have to take notice soon, whether they like it or not!

The early series of Hustle were excellent with Mickey Stone played by Adrian Lester being the brains for the gang. It was never as good when Danny, played by Mark Warren became the supposed brains. In those days I wasn’t aware of there being deliberate positive portrayal of black men on the tv. I could believe that Adrian Lester was the best man for the role.

Adrian Lester decided not to do Series 4, and although it was OK – they brought in a similar character – Ashley Walters – and he only stayed for Series 5.

Adrian Lester came back for Series 6-8, and they were damn good and (as far as an ageing Scrobs is concerned), was overly delightful because Kelly Adams took over as the lady! Again, the Scrobs corpuscles had enjoyed enough excitement with the vision of Jaime Murray before all this, but the last series – especially the final episode with Kelly and Matt Di Angelo, is a belter!

(Editor’s note, ‘Scrobs, have you ever thought of writing a critique of a programme, without boring the general public, and drooling over the ladies? Just a thought…’)

Am I alone in sensing a strong whiff of hypocrisy at the sudden explosion of Far Left Labour MPs being concerned with poor value for taxpayers?
Prince Andrew’s low annual rent for his accommodation may have cost us a few £ million over the last 20 years which I do not condone. MPs are aghast.
So let us consider the costs of one full rubberised channel ferry crossing.
    Say, 50 people.
In a hotel for a year, say £50 per night.
    That’s over £900,000.
Now let’s say 36,500 illegals per year. Which it is, approximately, and enables easy calculation.
100 per day. 2 boats of the ones described above.
Suddenly we are at £665 million pa. Not to include legal aid, free healthcare, dentistry, eye tests, pocket money, free phones, entertainment, plus crimes committed and the costs of investigation, process, and prison time etc etc. Shall we just agree a round £1 billion pa?

And what have the same Far Leftists complaining about Prince Andrew’s house got to say about that?

    Absolutely nothing.
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

      Sluff ,
I also hear the lefties and thus BBC saying the same about anyone arriving here are welcome if they make a “contribution ” .

Is this “contribution” voluntary ? As in someone with a bucket rings the new arrivals doorbell and asks can they “contribute ” to the UK economy , put in the pail whatever they think they can afford ?

What they really mean is that the immigrants get a job and pay some tax .Which in the vast majority of migrants means they do not pay their way .
They do not pay their way . Period . End of discussion .

Have they already paid for the massive costs of increasing the infrastructure for the massive increase of the population ? Have they paid for the bureaucracy to to administer their arrival ? Have they paid for the security to monitor them ?

Let`s remember if immigration is so good for a country then all our recent arrivals should be sent to countries and places that need a leg up more than we do – like Africa , Venuzuala , Bangladesh etc .

      • Scroblene says:

The immigration costs are only just starting.

Once these illegals have arrived, the cost – estimated at just under £3bn, is supposedly taken from the Overseas Development budget, which then of course reduces the money that the ‘poorer’ nations can use for their own infrastructure, culture, jobs, housing etc.

        (Via Chat )

        What the data shows

In 2023, the UK spent about £4.3 billion of its ODA on costs associated with asylum seekers/refugees in the UK, which was ~28% of the total ODA budget.
        The Guardian

In 2024, that spending fell to around £2.8 billion, representing ~20% of the ODA budget.
        GOV.UK

Within those domestic refugee costs, the Home Office is responsible for the bulk—especially for accommodation costs (hotel/housing) for asylum seekers. In 2023, of the ~£2.9bn ODA from the Home Office, ~£2.49bn was for asylum accommodation.
        Independent Commission for Aid Impact.

        (ends)

And that’s for just one year!

Now, there’ll be the additional costs of these people from thereon, plus their families, and the economic drain of taxes which are being piled on the British Citizens to pay for this madness.

The commercial liabilities of the totally incompetent Reeves have yet to bite, but we can be sure that come the end of November, the financial upheaval will be catastrophic.

Oddly enough, a knowledgeable commentator on the radio yesterday, (not a raging leftie), said that raising income tax is a distinct possibility now, despite the lies of Starmer and his band of useless ornaments at the election, and the last budget.

That will be the final straw.

If it starts getting some truths coming out, even only 5% of what’s really happening, she will be promoted, moved or whatever. Too many police, politicians, council workers and the like are involved.

Mind, if you were to have an enquiry into anything you would find huge corruption. HS2 costs, PPE during covid, NHS spending, so many snouts in troughs.

The Nation wants Maggie Oliver to Chair this enquiry but I bet she will not be allowed to. Even some unknown NZ or Canadian Judge would likely be a labour sympathiser being nudged and encouraged to arrive at the correct conclusions.

Nobody trusts the politicians and their State public servants.

      Fireworks: the law

You cannot buy ‘adult’ fireworks if you’re under 18, and it’s against the law for anyone to set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except on certain occasions.

Adult fireworks are category 2 and 3 fireworks – they do not include things like party poppers.

Category 4 fireworks can only be used by professionals.

The law says you must not set off or throw fireworks (including sparklers) in the street or other public places.

You must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except for:

Bonfire Night, when the cut off is midnight
New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am
Check with your council to find out about any local rules for setting off fireworks.

Get information about firework safety from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and the Health and Safety Executive.

      Buying fireworks
You can only buy fireworks (including sparklers) from registered sellers for private use on these dates:

      15 October to 10 November
      26 to 31 December
3 days before Diwali and Chinese New Year
At other times you can only buy fireworks from licensed shops.

You can be fined an unlimited amount and imprisoned for up to 6 months for selling or using fireworks illegally. You could also get an on-the-spot fine of £90.

      ———————–

PS. Diwali is five days, 18-22 October this year. So three more nights to go. It’s like Easter changing dates depending on the moon. Never known anyone prosecuted for breaking these time restraints. We’ve had fireworks near us for about ten days now. I thought it might have been due to the hostage release in Israel / Gaza.

Third survivor quits grooming gang inquiry panel
    https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwykd173l3vo

This was an interesting article to read.

Normally at the BBC, THREE victims of RAPE gangs (NOT ‘grooming’ gangs BBC) pulling out of an enquiry because they say it is trying to cover-up what happened would be a slam-dunk, full on crticism of the enquiry and everybody behind it. It’s pure ‘female rape victims vs. the establishment’ and would be 110% supporting their narrative (using the usual BBC Panorama-style lies) and virtually no counter-arguments except for maybe one paragraph half way down. Just like they did countless times in Gaza when covering up for Hamas terrorists.

So I wondered how the BBC would handle this one. And sure enough – despite such damning proof of their corruption – it is nowhere near as one-sided as it should be.

Because the BBC are caught between agendas : on one hand young, innocent girls got gang-raped but on the other hand telling the truth will paint the Muslims as they actually are. And the BBC REALLY want to protect THEM as the victims to be used against the Right.

So they give about half of the entire article to covering meaningless rhetoric statements from the government such as:

‘In her resignation letter, Elizabeth said the process felt like “a cover-up” and had “created a toxic environment for survivors”.

Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips has denied claims of a cover-up and insisted her government was “committed to exposing the failures” to tackle “these appalling crimes”.’

‘Ms Reynolds, who was abused by a gang of Pakistani brothers in Barrow, said the “final turning point” in her decision to quit was a move to widen the inquiry “in ways that downplay the racial and religious motivations behind our abuse”.

Phillips has said it is “untrue” the government is seeking to dilute the focus of the inquiry, insisting its scope will be “laser-focused”.’

Just imagine how the BBC would have presented this if it didn’t involve Muslims and it was the Conservatives trying to cover it up. It would run with a new ‘story’ daily until a proper National enquiry was set up. With the ridiculous power the BBC now have, they could bring Starmer down with this story if they wanted to. But they won’t : Labour respect must be preserved because Farage will win if it isn’t.

They even end it like this. The BBC don’t want a National enquiry either.

‘The Conservatives have called for the inquiry to be chaired by a senior judge to guarantee impartiality and restore faith in the process.

Phillips rejected that suggestion, arguing that Baroness Casey, who led a previous inquiry into the subject, had said she did not want a traditional judicial-led inquiry.’

In what way is that last statement suppose to be a justification ???.

It’s a grossly misleading headline intended to turn you against him from the start. If you read the article, you learn he paid £8 million upfront for renovations which was taken as his rent for the duration of the lease.

Here we have the Left and their spiteful nature under the spotlight. I know Andrew is a top-drawer tw@t, but this is not about him. It’s about the mindset of the Left.

They don’t just want Andrew to lose his job, they want him ruined. They want his life turned into pure misery and they will gloat over it.

Telling tales out of school edition

Good news for a change and there’s a little ray of sunshine this morning – mind you, it does come care of the in-the-tank for Labour Daily Mirror: Britain isn’t broken, you are all amazing… Keir’s praise at No10… Pride of Britain winners got a heroes’ welcome… personal tour… He said… the country is far from fractured, as doom mongers claim… “It’s completely the opposite”… Child of Courage… 12, told Mr Starmer he wants to be his deputy and he would start by “fixing all the potholes”

If Labour slip further in the polls our 12-year-olds may well get the vote and the chance to become Labour MPs.

Even our BBC staff lack the chutzpah to present this Daily Mirror lefty PR effort as a serious frontpage news headline and instead have to demote the Mirror down to their jokey ‘and finally’ spot in their online print press line-up.

The Mirror do so like to talk about their ‘Charidee’ work. Another take away from this report might be how ‘fixing the pot holes’ has become our new de-Mussolini connotationed good government mantra to replace ‘making the trains run on time’

But when government mucks up… as it often does… there’s always the public inquiry

On a day when the focus is on the stage management of public inquiries: Grooming gangs inquiry in chaos (Mail) – and this one doesn’t even exist yet.

Meanwhile, Boris is telling tales out of school at another inquiry: Boris: Our lockdowns failed kids… admitted school children paid ‘a huge price’ for Britain’s Covid lockdowns… shutting schools for millions of children had been a ‘nightmare’… It felt to me as though children who are not particularly vulnerable to Covid were paying a huge, huge price to protect the rest of society… I thought it was a nightmare idea’ (plaudits to the giveaway Metro for headlining this report, probably the real top story of the day)

Likewise the FT give it a little frontpage teaser: Covid rules went ‘too far’… Boris Johnson told the inquiry

One for Jennifer Aniston fans: Can shampoo repair hair? Four haircare myths get the chop (BBC) – now for the science bit?

Quick check on the minutiae of American law regarding planning permission (it’s what you pays your tv licence fees for): Is Trump allowed to demolish part of the White House to build a ballroom? (BBC Verify)

As the Guardian’s Madeleine Aggeler tells us of: My weird week with an AI companion, so our BBC welcomes back their virtual friend, the online only Observer, to their otherwise print press line-up: Brexit hit economy even harder than feared, says Reeves – gotta make an exception to the rules for that one, eh?

Come, come, luv. Brexit weren’t all bad. Think of the… animals? Revealed: UK’s red lines in Brexit reset food deal. Live animal exports, gene editing and foie gras key concerns (i paper)

Good luck with those negotiations, Keir. I’ve a feeling, just like the Russians won’t ever give up the Donbas: Trump abandons hope of Putin summit… Kremlin rejected proposal to freeze the Ukraine conflict along the present front lines (Times) – so the French will presently be in no mood to give up their foie gras: Jewels stolen from Louvre not insured (Telegraph)

The arty-farty film reviewers at the BBC have written acres of rubbish asking why the DiCaprio movie One Battle After Another flopped at the box office despite glowing reviews by film critics.

Of course they miss the point – two points.

First the film flopped because it was left-wing woke propaganda glorifying the revolutionary left, in which the villains were right-wing Christian nationalists.

Secondly the critics loved it because it was left-wing woke propaganda idealising the revolutionary left, in which the villains were right-wing Christian nationalists.

And if there’s one thing (3 things) the liberals love to hate it’s right-wing; Christian; nationalists.

And the public are fed up with woke.

TAX AND THOSE PEOPLE WHO DON’T PAY IT………

What wonderful laugh out loud moments on the BBC- today “magazine&agenda programme” this morning.

Margaret Hodge, the always angry about tax , ex politician who used to chase tax evaders and was head of the parliamentary committee on Public accounts.
She was given a platform to rant on and on about Prince Andrew and not paying what is due , etc, etc.
She had all the figures and told us lots of detail, very impressive , all down to the last quid.

I am concerned about Dear old Margarets memory though,

Her own Tax arrangements in relation to her interest in Stemcor , the steel trading business her father founded and run by her brother, have given rise to concerns in the past , in particular the suggestion that she ,Margaret, received 96,000 shares worth £1.5 million, transferred from a Lichtenstein based trust, shocking also to learn the family trust was based in Panama, of all places.

However I’m sure there is nothing untoward about any of her dealings and am equally sure everythi g would have been done properly…..but….it just goes to show that Prince Andrew needs to be careful .He could do worse than getting Margaret Hodges tax advisers phone number, that way nothing could possibly go wrong.

My only surprise was that the BBC-today programme interviewer didn’t state that poor Margaret had raised a few eyebrows over her own tax in the past and was an expert as a result….

    Oh, dear.

Sources claim the fund never had any substance, funding, or a clear strategy, but was instead a PR-focused project that was ultimately unsuccessful in securing investor backing. Cameron’s role as vice-chairman of a related £1 billion China-UK investment fund was later described as potentially being engineered by the Chinese state to gain credibility. ”

What could be more disturbing than a significant British political party being lead by a Marxist con-man? I know that could be Smarmer but think Green, think Zack Polanski.

What is most disturbing is the fact that the Green membership has voted for that specimen. They must be an incredibly deluded group of people, think of those religious cults. Story and title …. “scrapping a rule for directors of small firms to file a directors’ report with Companies House”

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/oct/21/rachel-reeves-set-to-launch-blitz-on-business-bureaucracy-to-save-firms-6bn

The bulk of this announcement is, however, drawn from a £6.5bn pledge by Welltower, a US property investment company which invests in healthcare infrastructure across the UK, in the creation of thousands of new beds in elderly facilities.

The US-based firm last year agreed to buy Care UK, one of Britain’s largest care home chains, in a deal first reported by the Guardian at a time of growing lobbying by private providers for a greater role in the NHS.

Just reading it on the news feed on my phone.

      https://www.rte.ie/news/courts/2025/1021/1539658-dublin-assault-investigation/

As happens so often these days, the MSM are all miraculously following the same narrative : telling us how bad the protestors are and NOT telling us about the rape of the 10 year old which caused it. I wonder if it’s the BBC ‘TNI’ controlling the news again.

The actual court-case report came up and it tells me:

‘She told the court the accused, who cannot be named, was arrested at 3.58am in Clondalkin Garda Station and when charged, he replied: “I have nothing to say.”‘

Cannot be named ???. Why not ? – he’s been charged.

All becomes clear when we learn:
‘His defence solicitor asked that he be produced in person in court and that an Arabic interpreter be provided.’

They are covering up the rape of 10 year old girls by these illegal migrants. No wonder people are angry.

Let us all stop funding UK terrorism!

It would seem Khalid Masood (Westminster Attack 22.03.2017 5 Innocents Killed) was on benefits which comes out of National Insurance payments by the workers of the UK. Thus, it would seem prior to these findings the workers in the UK were unknowingly funding terrorism.

But now we know terrorists operate using welfare benefits it would seem we are knowingly paying terrorists.

Can I suggest that the Government please make sure NI payments by UK workers don’t go into the hands of terrorists by removing the terrorists in the first place. Can you also calculate how much we have/are funded terrorism via welfare benefits by simply getting all known terrorists (left, right, islamic) arrested to-date and those on the watch list and check welfare payments made to them or their immediate family (under various names possibly).

Another example is where imams preaching intolerance such as Anjem Choudary (preached hate 1999-2016) to his hundreds of worshippers (5 times a day, everyday), can all imams be checked if they are on welfare benefits, paid by UK workers, and these payments be stopped immediately. It is the community that needs to fund the imams if they want religious teachings, similar to how the Church of England was funded with donations in the past.
