I’ve just visited a mate of mine in Epsom Hospital (that’s not the good bit) and on the journey through beautiful and quaint English villages I have never seen so many Union Jacks or the flags of St George. I really wasn’t expecting it.
They seem to be fluttering from every lamppost. It really did the heart good to see them.
There’s a real resurgence in national pride and clearly the local councils have no intention of taking them down.
I got so mesmerised by all the patriotic flags I unintentionally shot past a speed camera, doing about 35 in a 30 limit. B@ll@cks!
