I am waiting for Scrobie. I think Scrobie is away on hols or summat like that. The BBC (our favourite broadcaster – not) has ‘blotted its copy book’ again. Will Tim Davie resign? As if Glasto and vile Bob Vylan was not enough, the BBC have their ‘pants down’ over the President Trump debacle of manipulating one of his speeches prior to January 6th. And now, all over the DTelegraph is the claim that the BBC, among others, have distorted the news about Israel to make Israel look bad in the eyes of the listening and viewing public. As Fed says, cancel your Telly Licence. Spank the BBC. Defund the BBC!

      Ha ha ha!

Actually, Brissles is right, but it wasn’t Frost – it was Hustle, which is still one of the most entertaining series ever put out…

And I didn’t slide off the sofa, and the dog was hiding, as there might have been fireworks and she gets very wary around now…

I didn’t notice the time until well after 10.00pm and wanted Uppers and Co to get pole position anyway, this is a caring household!

I also bet that yesterday was a signal moment when the TV tax was going to take a real hammering, as decent British Citizens vent their wrath on the bBC’s lies and cheating, and then having to praise the other liars in Labour about their ridiculous ‘pre-budget’ whimper, blaming everyone but themselves for pure economic and commercial insanity! I’d had enough of their twaddle for one day!

      I slept like a log…;0)

I think so too, the Lurch bloke and the other person – can’t remember her name – won’t get very far in The White House now!

And why was Maaaare Khaaaaan in Lagos wasting £83,000 – surely they have enough problems without him farting about on things he doesn’t understand!

Best description of the silly little man today: –

“Our Mayor is, of course, a man utterly bewitched by his own reflection.” (Express)! I’m surprised that the TV tax wasters weren’t there fawning all over him as well, but perhaps they’re up at ‘Copout whatever’ already…

“In finance, a “haircut” is a reduction in the value of an asset, which can mean a percentage discount on a debt that creditors agree to write off, or a percentage reduction applied to the market value of collateral. The haircut serves to protect against risk by providing a buffer against potential losses if the asset’s value falls, and it is commonly used in collateralized lending such as repurchase agreements and in debt restructuring scenarios”.

lol – to my immense satisfaction, I see that the BBC are NOT reporting anything about the extreme bias accusations against them. This time with evidence – so they can’t just dismiss it.

And I see the Daily Telegraph has copied a BBC trick : they are releasing the details with a new headline per day. Though this time they ARE newsworthy : not anonymous quotes from some civil servant then repeating the same story again underneath like the BBC.

That link has the video of the Trump edit and it is appallingly misleading. But it’s only what we have all been saying for a long time. If anyone makes any expression of surprise over this, mark them down as blatant Leftist liars for future reference. Everybody MUST know of the bias – particularly over Gaza.

Remember these on their news front page?
‘BBC : News you can trust’
‘Why you can trust the BBC’

They seem to be gone now 😂

Lets hope these dirty left-wing activists destroying our country finally get what they deserve. But I won’t hold my breath : the corruption goes deep into the swamp for this one.

But of course the most corrupt organisation of all : the one who actively supports Islamic terrorism against Israel and allowed terrorist tunnels and underground headquarters to be built with taxpayers money under their hospitals, schools and refugee camps are still carrying on as normal. I refer of course to the UN.

‘A BBC spokesperson said: “While we don’t comment on leaked documents, when the BBC receives feedback it takes it seriously and considers it carefully.”‘

So…completely unaccountable then? Which seems to be the narrative we can take from their reporting of this…or lack of real reporting as it does its best to downplay and dismiss this story that is in reality a devastating shot below the waterline for the BBC.

Today on 5 Live we had the BBC marking their own homework with David Sillito mouthing a very carefully worded and worked piece about the BBC’s flagrant fabrication and election interference.

He tried hard to present the BBC’s own internal report as perhaps fictional…the Telegraph ‘claims’…and in fact not internal at all…the lead on the report being an ‘external advisor’…er…commissioned by the BBC….and someone who is ‘allegedly’ unhappy with the BBC….’allegedly’?

What’s interesting and telling is that this internal BBC report is one that the BBC itself can’t get its hands on apparently[and even if it could it refuses to comment on.] I believe it was actually sent originally to the head of BBC News…and is now in the hands of government ministers…just how is BBC News incapable of finding a copy?

‘ BBC News has not seen a copy of the memo.’

Sillito went on to attempt a complete dismissal of this claiming that it was ‘completely normal way of producing a film…it was a montage of clips….it was meant to set the mood’ [rather than be actually factual].

Hmmm…no….not a montage but a carefully edited piece of separate clips merged to look as if they were precisely not a montage but one continuous film and done, not to set a mood, but to present an entirely fictitious version of events designed to make it look like Trump had called upon protestors to use violence.

Sillito was lying. And the BBC is desperate to memory hole this as fast as possible and move on….trying hard to rubbish the person who drew up the report and the report itself…

‘In its statement, the BBC said: “Michael Prescott is a former adviser to a board committee where differing views and opinions of our coverage are routinely discussed and debated.”‘

And of course it’s not just about Trump….there’s much more in the report.

    10:28–10:30 GMT
Tommy did not testify, and no negative inference was drawn from that. His lawyer argued that none of the questions related to terrorism and that the stop was politically motivated.
    10:30–10:33 GMT
The judge found the officers’ testimony inconsistent and lacking credibility, noting that they could not reliably recall key details.
    10:34–10:36 GMT
The judge concludes that the stop and questioning were motivated by Tommy’s political views, not by any genuine suspicion of terrorism. There was “no evidence at all” suggesting involvement in terrorism.
    10:37 GMT
He applies the two legal tests and finds:

    1. The purpose of the stop cannot be justified.

    2. Tommy’s political beliefs influenced the officers’ decision to detain him.
    10:37 GMT
The judge rules that the stop was unlawful.

“Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

I suspect there is mass panic in the BBC at the moment with the top management and lawyers meeting to formulate their response to this catastrophe. And when it comes, you can be sure it will be slippery and full of meaningless management platitudes.

What I want to know is why is taken so long for anyone with the power to do something about it ?. THAT is the real question. We’ve been highlighting their lies for a long time – especially in Gaza.

This scandal applies just as much to OFCOM who let the BBC do whatever they want. At the very least OFCOM and the BBC’s relationship with it should be reformed and the BBC no longer allowed to handle their own complaints.

I will take this opportunity to refresh our memories of my own experience of ridiculous BBC bias. Here are some comments they deleted:

‘Thanks for clarifying your personal characeristics and ability to present a reasoned argument briblogg.
I think you pretty much sum up the majority of people who bother with the BBC these days.’

‘So going by the general up/downticks of the comments on this BBC HYS, the referendum should have been 87% for ‘remain’.
And we are suppose to believe the BBC is unbiased ?. I think it’s pretty obvious who it appeals to these days.
But the biggest farce here is OFCOM who have let it happen.
I predict the BBC will delete this comment within 10 minutes. It’s not in line with the Brexit agenda.’
      (and it was)

One which was not in line with the Ukraine agenda:
‘Nobody because that would be taking on NATO.
Which is precisely why it all started. Russia cannot fight NATO and hence considers them to be in Ukraine right at Russia’s belly to be unacceptable. Like Cuba was unacceptable.
There are some very, very ignorant people making extremely bold comments here. Why do I think they will be last in the line to join up ?.’

‘To my continued dismay I see the people writing comments here clearly think the problems in Ukraine started when Putin invaded in 2022.
That’s what you get when your source of news is the BBC.
I suppose all the intelligent people get their news elsewhere these days.’

‘How many of those 150 are fully closed and how many just partially closed BBC ?.
An extremely important fact you have failed to include.
As for Starmer saying it’s ‘unforgiveable’ for them to miss one week at the start of term – it’s bandwagon jumping in the extreme after what just happened with COVID.
But there’s an election coming up and it’s all about getting the Tories out at the BBC.’

      ‘Amazing.
You managed to avoid every single one of the reasons we voted for Brexit.
Never mind. Back to your homework.’

And my favourite one of all where I actually complained to the BBC about their moderation bias: here is the complaint I sent:

‘In the article https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-63375281 someone made the following comment:

‘It’s a shame the bunch of brexit supporting losers spend their time on here’

I complained the comment was insulting and off-topic. The reply from your moderators was:
‘we have decided that it does not contravene the House Rules and are going to leave it on site.’
      (reference number P43797938)

So I made the following comment myself under the same article. I simply substituted ‘remain’ for ‘brexit’
‘It’s a shame the bunch of remain supporting losers spend their time on here’

It was quickly deleted with the reason:
‘Are considered likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others’

The most explicit of double standards by the ‘impartial’ BBC. This happens many times – but this one just happens to highlight it exactly.
I look forward to learning how you can justify this entirely typical BBC behaviour. Or perhaps it’s just yet another ‘mistake’. ’
      I never got any response.

All of the above were deleted by the BBC. The usual reason was that they would be offensive to someone. Since when did ‘free speech’ give anyone the right to not be offended ?. None of those are filled with the bile and hate I’ve seen so often in HYS against Trump, Boris, Farage and Brexit.

The Anti Trump BBC propaganda story can run and run particularly if the President chooses to sue them for a huge sum, which he would be fully justified to do.The License Fee payer will have to fork out of course and few if any heads will roll at the corporation. The BBC will carry on spewing forth its liberal globalism sewage without pause.
Even if this had happened when we had a Tory government little if anything would have been done because essentially the entire
British establishment agrees with most the BBC output.
The only people who can take any effective action are the License Fee payers themselves. I have no doubt that for a few thousand or tens of thousands this will be the final straw and they will cancel their DDs. But I have no hope that significant numbers ie a million plus, will do so .
. Most will probably just get on with their lives too busy, too complacent , too gullible or too ignorant to realise that our country is in dire peril and that one of the main causes of that peril has been forty years of liberal globalist sewage pumped out by the BBC which has rotted their minds.

Brace yourselves for the multiple whammies edition

First Female Chancellor Rachel Reeves was sporting what’s termed the wet-dog-look hairstyle for her: …unusual pre-Budget speech (i paper) – and her expression was somewhat hangdog.

Recent newcomer to the BBC’s online news page otherwise strictly print press line-up is the virtual digital-only left-leaning Independent. This organ happily broke its aversion to Royals on its frontpage for Andrew and this morning joins tabloid colleagues in featuring our rival pretenders to the Windsors – the Royal House of Beckham.

What, no Financial Times frontpage this morning, BBC?

Economic outlook too awful to contemplate?

Perhaps the pink paper was late sending over today’s edition – I’d like to imagin the editor smarting over your Mr AsI’s take down of their obsession with the term “Far Right” yesterday. That expression gets way too much prominence and over use on the FT cover page. But see here, the BBC is at it too: Far-right activist Tommy Robinson has been found not guilty of a terror offence after refusing to give police access to his phone in July 2024. (BBC)

A fair result. Stephen Yaxley-Lennon denying the coppers access to his phone didn’t terrorise in quite the way that mad knifeman running amok on the intercity train has done – and wasn’t terrorism. Officially.

In case you we wondering, dear readers hereabouts – the FT headline of the day is: Reeves paves way to break promise on income taxes – thank you Sky News online newspaper frontpage line-up.

The Tory-supporting tabloids have similiar headlines but the accusation of fiscal fibbing looks rather worse coming direct from the corporate liberal globalist mouthpiece.

Of course the precise ordering and composition of the BBC’s daily newspaper line-up is a thing of some mystery.

Prime quotable phrase of the day award (if there were such a thing) goes to the Daily Mail with the double whammy: Another day in Starmer’s Socialist Paradise… 1. Reeves’s whaffle bomb… 2. Wrecking education… Exams cut – but new focus on diversity and climate change

    Socialist paradise… ouch!

‘ugly’ – as opposed to the acceptable kind? I’ll tell you what’s going on here – the continual repeat of the accusation just don’t cut it like it used to – so leftists need to add something.

Plod were thick – maybe on purpose – with written statements unable to support the reason for the stop – base on his politics .
TR has asked for a lawyer to take on the civil action . On the basis of the judgement – in my opinion – there will be an out of court settlement – with Elon getting his £100k back and hopefully TR getting the same .

When they are found out of any wrongdoing I find the standard reply by the likes of the police, bbc, nhs and all the other failures to be so similar.

They all start with the line ‘We take all complaints very seriously’ and then some waffle which says nothing but uses their favourite words like progressive and nothing word salad like ‘going forward with community cohesiveness’ which have a positive sound about them but are meaningless.

    The end result is…..nothing happens.

Does anybody on here really believe anything will happen over the bbc doctoring the speech by Trump. Of course not.
Even if somebody loses their job the finer details will show a huge payout (somehow justified by the bbc) and within weeks or maybe a few months this person will be in another top job. They stick together.

And the end result is still…..no change.
But they DO take this VERY SERIOUSLY.

The 🇮🇱 embassy has put this out on X

The Embassy of Israel in the United Kingdom is extremely alarmed by revelations published by The @Telegraph today about the inaction of the @BBCNews leadership regarding @BBCArabic systematic bias and professional failings in their reporting of Israel. We have long been concerned about the output of BBC Arabic, and today’s report, based on information from the BBC’s Editorial Guidelines and Standards Committee, confirms these suspicions and that high-ranking BBC officials were aware.
The Telegraph’s report is clear that BBC Arabic chose to minimise
Israeli suffering during the war so it could portray Israel as the aggressor. The accusations published in the Telegraph are a gross dereliction of the BBC’s responsibility to fair and impartial journalism, and have promoted false narratives about the conflict with Hamas to the region, which have a far-reaching impact on how Israel is viewed.
Today’s revelations show that senior staff were repeatedly warned about this bias but did not take action. We call on the BBC to investigate this immediately and take serious steps to ensure accountability. There have been repeated failures by the BBC since October 7th in their reporting of Israel, and this is, unfortunately, a further stain on their reputation as an internationally respected news broadcaster. It is also vital, as a recipient of UK taxpayer funding, that the UK government investigates the operations of BBC Arabic and ensures there is direct accountability on all BBC levels who were aware and did not act. Funding to BBC Arabic must be halted. It has abandoned the standards of credible journalism and has featured antisemites while promoting clear bias. Public funds cannot support a platform that undermines accuracy and journalistic Integrity ‘ ENDS

And Alison Pearson in the Telegraph on the BBC

STARTS The BBC has been a cornerstone of our national life. For as long as I can remember, a Britain without the BBC was unimaginable. Well, that is changing. A growing number would now be glad to see the back of this once globally admired institution, or at least they no longer want to pay the TV tax only to be insulted. The corporation may well have signed its own death warrant with a shockingly partisan Panorama report in which two clips from a Donald Trump speech were soldered together to make Mr Trump appear to say, “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol, and we fight” when he actually called for a peaceful march.

As we know, the president is perfectly capable of damning himself out of his own mouth without any help from Leftie BBC editors who played right into his hands with this outrageous display of what the Donald calls, with good reason, “fake news”.

We have become accustomed to BBC journalists lying by omission and the prioritisation of pet subjects – I swear there isn’t a spark caused by two sticks rubbed together in southern Europe that hasn’t been seized on by climate editor Justin Rowlatt as evidence of man-made global warming. But here we have a flagship factual programme deliberately misrepresenting the words of the most powerful man in the world. There can be no defence for inventing criminal speech – for that is how incitement to riot would be seen in a court of law. I do hope the president sues, don’t you?

It recalls the infamous 2007 promotional trailer for the documentary, A Year With the Queen, which showed her late Majesty “storming out” of a photoshoot when she had done nothing of the sort. The BBC issued a public apology for the error resulting from “misordered footage” and the scandal led to the resignation of BBC One controller Peter Fincham. But that was in the days when the corporation was still led by honourable people who understood that journalistic integrity was everything. Increasingly politicised and walled up in a sense of its own virtue, today’s BBC is more likely to defend its inaccuracies. As we saw when Jeremy Bowen claimed a missile fired by the Islamic Jihad group had been launched by Israel and hit a hospital causing a suspiciously round number of casualties. When Bowen was later presented with the facts, he said he did not regret his story and he still holds the job of international editor, so we can presume his BBC bosses don’t care about fair and honest reporting either.

On Tuesday, Gordon Rayner’s Telegraph exclusive on a leaked BBC dossier confirmed a bias towards Hamas in the BBC Arabic service. Allegations made against Israel were “raced to air without adequate checks – suggesting either carelessness or a desire to believe the worst about Israel”.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t only happened in the Arabic service; such hostility is endemic throughout the news division. Well, that’s what you get when you hire a bunch of upper-middle-class journos, steeped in white guilt and loathing of the West at their posh private schools, who wear recreational keffiyehs at the weekend and enjoy their avocado toast with a side of anti-Semitism.

The BBC loves to boast about diversity, but the crucial diversity it lacks is diversity of social class and opinion. The Tristrams and Tallulahs share the same politics: pro-Labour, pro-Remain, pro-migrant, pro-trans rights, pro-net zero. (Is there anyone in Broadcasting House who plans on voting for Nigel Farage? Apart from the security guards and canteen staff?) This homogeneity of views irritates the hell out of millions of licence-fee payers who increasingly seek their news elsewhere. And don’t get me started on Newsnight’s Victoria Derbyshire being surly and rude with the leader of Reform UK.

And yet most of us have a long history with the BBC. It makes for complicated feelings as we watch it squander a glorious inheritance. My very first memory is of being about three years old and crying inconsolably when Andy Pandy and Teddy were packed away in a basket at the end of Watch With Mother (“Andy and Teddy are saying goodbye,” sang the lady with the strange high fluting voice. Cut-glass English vowels, although I didn’t know that then; I was still speaking Welsh).

Wednesdays and Fridays were Blue Peter. Val, John and Pete were a wonderfully reassuring trio for a little girl enduring a bumpy childhood that saw my family moving every couple of years, chained to a Walter Mitty father with a weakness for drink and “fancy women”. (I had no idea what “Your father and his fancy women” meant, but once heard never forgotten.)

Blue Peter instilled charity, kindness and civic responsibility in its young audience. Like millions of other viewers, I collected milk bottle tops and silver paper for the Guide Dogs for the Blind appeal, although I rarely managed to make anything they demonstrated on the show because they nearly always involved a mysterious thing called sticky-backed plastic. Where could you get it? We never did find out. I’d still rather have a Blue Peter badge than a tiara.

Funny to think that, in the Sixties, ITV was regarded with as much suspicion as women who worked outside the home. Sticking with the BBC was best because it didn’t have adverts and, therefore, was a cut above. Respectability still mattered in those days and you could trust Auntie (a nickname the BBC acquired perhaps due to a certain censorious bossiness, but it was affectionate too).

The newsreaders back then were all gents of the old school: Richard Baker, Robert Dougall, the wonderfully hangdog Peter Woods (ever confused in my mind with Clement Freud’s bloodhound Henry in the Pedigree Chum advert) and suave silver fox Kenneth Kendall, who was born under the Raj in India and on duty when BBC One started transmitting in colour in November 1969. In 1981, the day before he was due to read his final bulletin, Kendall complained that the BBC had “lost touch with ordinary people”. (Prophetic words, Kenneth!)

There was excitement in 1975 when Angela Rippon, she of the incredulous eyebrows, became the first woman to read the news on national television – and even more thrills the following year when Angela came out from behind the BBC desk on the Morecambe and Wise Show to reveal a sensational pair of pins and perform a high-kicking dance routine.

The 1977 Morecambe and Wise Christmas Show holds the record for the largest audience for a comedy programme in British television history with a phenomenal 28 million viewers – that was approximately half of the UK’s population at the time. No one needed to use the word “inclusive”, nor to be force-fed “diversity”, because Eric and Ernie’s immortal mirth enchanted absolutely everyone. Like the other BBC personalities of that era (Bruce Forsyth, the two Ronnies), the legendary pair voted Conservative, but politics never came into it. Eric and Ern would be appalled, I think, by today’s BBC comedians who use “Trump” as a swear word and who pocket the cash from licence-fee payers while haranguing them with a diet of insufferably smug progressive views. Views that may be on the menu in a hipster café in Hackney but not in Harlow or Hartlepool.

Personally, I will always be grateful for the rich cultural education Auntie gave me as a teenager – from I, Claudius to Michael Parkinson’s interview with a magisterial Orson Welles. As a TV critic over several years from the mid-Nineties on, I relished some sublime broadcasting moments – not least Colin Firth’s Mr Darcy emerging from the lake with a wet white shirt clinging to his Pemberleys. I went into the Venezuelan rainforest with Sir David Attenborough and I marvelled at the public-service ethos of that small team from the Natural History Unit. Even television has its monuments – Attenborough made them, and they will endure for as long as there are people inspired by learning and beauty.

For a long time, I continued to believe the licence fee offered good value for money. Today, like many people, I can no longer bear the lack of balance on BBC News – Pravda for progressives. I winced as I watched my Planet Normal co-pilot Liam Halligan being ticked off for mentioning the “child rape gangs” on Question Time. (Typical of the liberal bias on immigration and multiculturalism that is so woefully out of step with public opinion.) The vast well of sentiment that the BBC could once call on has dried up. Recently, when I heard Clive Myrie, the successor to Kenneth Kendall and Richard Baker, talking in a self-congratulatory promotional video about “our BBC”, my immediate reaction was, “Ugh, it’s not my BBC.” How many feel the same?

Like “our NHS” – another self-satisfied national institution haemorrhaging public trust – the BBC acts like a religion issuing divine writ to the faithful. Unbelievers are rebuked or excommunicated. The pretence of impartiality is threadbare. The establishment of BBC Verify – “experts in disinformation and fact-checking” – was an act of hubris which now meets its nemesis after the shameful misrepresentation of Donald Trump by Panorama.

There are calls for Tim Davie to resign as director-general of the BBC. Resignations and apologies are the very least we can expect after such a scandal, but how can they be enough when the “fake news” is not a mistake? It’s the reality the institution believes in. When the BBC shows it dislikes so much of the nation, it can no longer call itself the national broadcaster. It’s no longer “our BBC”, it’s theirs. And we aren’t prepared to pay for it.ENDS

The clip showed Leibovitz asking the Queen to remove her crown for a “less dressy” shot, to which the Queen gave an “icy stare” and replied, “Less dressy? What do you think this is?”.
Immediately following this, the edited clip showed the Queen walking briskly down a corridor saying, “I’m not changing anything. I’ve had enough dressing like this, thank you very much”. This made it appear as though she had ended the session in a huff.
In reality, the footage of her walking down the corridor was taken earlier, as she was on her way to the sitting, and she was simply expressing frustration at having to dress up for the extensive session. “

What is happening in London and now New York is no surprise at all.
    It is self fulfilling.

The more ethnics living there the greater the chance of getting their own people elected to run the place.
These will then make sure their own are looked after.
The original indigenous Londoners will leave in ever increasing numbers to be replaced by more ethnics who will vote in more of ‘their own’ until whitey has little or no representation at all or some token representation by a far left woke DEI seat filler.

The end result will be that London will always elect khan or someone like him and New York will now do the same as the population changes because of the people now voted in to run the place.

To be honest, can anyone see how somebody like Ant Middleton could ever be voted in as Mayor beating khan now that the voter base likely to vote for Middleton is decreasing daily while those ‘new voters’ attracted by all the free stuff given to them by one of their own will keep on increasing.

London is lost and New York is next.

Saudi to have a Christian white man to run Mecca for a year! Inshallah! Amen!

      …….

The term “Mecca stone” most commonly refers to the Black Stone (\(al-Hajar\ al-Aswad\)), a sacred relic located in the eastern corner of the Kaaba in Mecca. According to Islamic tradition, it dates back to the time of Adam and Eve and was originally white but turned black from absorbing the sins of those who have touched it. It is a central focal point for pilgrims during the Hajj pilgrimage.
