Last week the BBC ‘lost ‘ its Director General and Head of Propaganda News because of corrupt news reporting – this week the BBC super – fixed a Question Time audience complete with invaders planted in the audience with planted questions scripted by the BBC … What will this coming week bring ?

Heathrow attack suspects used CS spray, court told… Two men have appeared in court after two women were sprayed with CS spray in a robbery at Heathrow airport on Sunday. Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance after the incident on Sunday. (Jess Warren, London, BBC)
No mug shots, obviously. Which tends to be the giveaway. Some unpixelated footage of an arrest is out there, however. Mind you, the names Tyrone & Anton were clue enough if any were needed.

An attack piece on Tommy Robinsons “kind of Christianity” from Giles Fraser a CofE vicar. I wonder if he thought that this easy target for ridicule was going to go down well. According to the comments (which make me feel that the tide is turning on his secular understanding of Christianity ) he has picked on the wrong person while highlighting the snobbery of those in the CofE. One comment highlights how out of touch he is with what people regard as Christian values.
“If I have understood the Reverend correctly, his thesis is that Robinson is not the ‘right kind of Christian.’ Leaving aside the judgemental snobbery that this implies, along with the unChristian rejection of Robinson, it seems to me that the supposed ‘right kind of Christians’, ie the likes of Welby, have done precious little over many decades to defend, promote or strengthen the Christian backbone of this nation. If it falls to a working class lad, rough edges and all, to do the work of the pampered Christian hierarchy, then more power to his tattooed elbow.”

It is Fraser who is the wrong kind of Christian he obviously does not read the bible Probably gets his sermons from the BBC thought for the day
“I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” Luke 15:7
I thought Charlie and our ‘government’ had changed the state religion to Islam? It certainly gets more of a look in than the CofE, more adherents too I’d wager.
Jonathan – without diving too much into theology – any one who sneers at Tommy Robinson over his Christianity – can’t be much of a Christian and might be a bit rusty on the gospels and lost sheep … and all that ….
Indeed
They tried that on TWatO yesterday. A Bishop from the CoE, Arun Arora, a Leftie Bishop was interviewed by the Montacutie. He was casting aspersions at Tommy Robinson but he was converted to Christ in prison. An answer to my prayers.
Lost sheep in the Bible? What happened to them when they returned? Either sacrificed for religious purpose or slaughtered for food. A sheep was worth money, it wasn’t a family member. No wonder the owner was pleased when a lost sheep returned – but poor sheep!
A verse for David Lammy from Scripture: “To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.” Proverbs 21 v3 (https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org)
Think on that David Lammy!
A couple of years ago the Cochrane Institute did a review of mask wearing during covid. As advised by a senior director of a Local Health Authority, the Cochrane Institute is the ‘gold standard’ for the assessment of medical research. They found that masks had little effect on the numbers or how poorly people became. Or at least that was the view in their original report. I think it was within the week that somebody leant on the Institute and its findings were tempered. I will go with their original report.
One of the scars of covid is that I still go to the UKHSA website to watch Covid numbers. In October there was a real peak in covid numbers. It might have overwhelmed our NHS. Now with the junior doctors going on strike, lengthening waiting lists can be blamed on the flu.
Deborah – when I get flu i really get it – so was eager to get the jab . Now I hear that the jab isn’t as good as it could be because they didn’t guess what strain would hit us . But worth a try ….
From the Telegraph – more bad news for the BBC over President Trump
STARTS The BBC has admitted misleading viewers by claiming that Donald Trump called for one of his leading critics to be shot in the face.
In an internal memo, BBC News said its coverage had been inaccurate, but no correction was ever issued publicly.
The claims concerned Liz Cheney, the daughter of former US vice-president Dick Cheney and a vocal Republican opponent of Mr Trump.
In the days before the US presidential election in November last year, a presenter on BBC World News America said that Mr Trump “appeared to suggest Liz Cheney should face a firing squad for her stance on foreign policy”.
On the BBC News channel, another presenter asked his guest: “He [Trump] is out there on the campaign trail saying he wants people to shoot Liz Cheney in the face… Is that the sort of thing women react well to?”
Speaking on the Six O’Clock News the same night, Sarah Smith, the BBC’s North America editor, said Mr Trump had been “ratcheting up the violent rhetoric”.
She added: “In the latest spat, Donald Trump has been accused of being petty, vindictive and a wannabe tyrant because he suggested that one of his political opponents should face guns, have them trained on her face.”
In fact, Mr Trump had accused Ms Cheney of being a “radical war hawk” who wanted to send troops to war while she remained in the safety of Washington DC, saying: “Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her face. OK? Let’s see how she feels about it.”
An internal memo on BBC bias concluded: “BBC News accepted that the Liz Cheney story was not covered accurately by the BBC, and the EGSC [editorial guidelines and standards committee] concluded errors were made on this specific issue.”
The memo was compiled by Peter Johnston, the director of the editorial complaints unit, and was presented to the BBC board in October this year.
The board had asked Mr Johnston to look into claims of bias made by Michael Prescott, an independent adviser who had examined the corporation’s news output and laid out his concerns in a dossier submitted the previous month.
The dossier was later leaked to The Telegraph.
The memo was a “preliminary analysis” and not intended for publication, but ihas been released at the request of MPs on the Culture, Media and Sport select committee.
It showed BBC News staff defending the Panorama programme, which edited a speech by Mr Trump to make it appear that he was directly inciting his followers to storm the Capitol.
Mr Johnston wrote: “BBC News did not agree with the assertion that the Panorama was anti-Trump. They pointed out that the programme was constructed with a spine of Trump supporters… so they argued that the overall tone was not anti-Trump, but seeking to understand his popular appeal.
“They also explained why due impartiality did not require an equivalent programme on [Kamala] Harris.”
Mr Johnston noted that there was a “difference of opinion” on the editorial guidelines and standards committee about the editing of Mr Trump’s speech.
Committee members included Samir Shah, the BBC chairman, Sir Robbie Gibb, a non-executive board member; Tim Davie, the director-general, and Deborah Turness, chief executive of BBC News. Mr Davie and Ms Turness later resigned.
A BBC spokesman said: “The BBC has published Peter Johnston’s note, which is a public acknowledgement of these matters, and we’ve made clear that we will be publishing a more detailed analysis in due course.”
The BBC published Mr Johnston’s note alongside a letter from Mr Shah, in which he discussed the resignations of Mr Davie and Mrs Turness.
The pair met in person over the weekend following The Telegraph’s revelations and discussed their futures, Mr Shah said.
Ms Turness had let the board know earlier that day that she was intending to resign as chief executive of BBC News. Mr Davie’s resignation came as more of a surprise and the board were unanimous in their desire for him to stay, said Mr Shah.
The Panorama edit was a contributory factor to Mr Davie’s resignation but “the wider pressures of the job over many years led him, reluctantly, to decide that this was the right moment to step down”, Dr Shah said, praising him as an “outstanding” director-general.ENDS
