I watched this and became ever more depressed as I realised the enormity of the task which faces any Reform government if they wish to return our country to something similar to pre Blair times.
The Blobists are building deep legal defences of the existing order which will enmesh any Reformist agenda no matter if such a government has a majority of 100 plus and no matter how dedicated to reform it is.
The more I think about things the more I realise that the only way that there can be any return to pre Blairism is if an overwhelming majority of the British people are prepared to support Reform for at least two more likely three parliaments and to put up with great hardships , imposed on them by the Blob, whilst doing so.
Sadly I don’t think that the British people will be willing to make such a sustained democratic effort and will settle for a life under the Blob. Eventually in future decades they may be roused to rebellion but it will likely be too late by then.
I suspect it’s third world here we come.

Our enemy’s enemy is our friend. Most of the Middle East doesn’t like the Iranian regime, so despite our misgivings we sort of rub along with Egypt, Saudi, UAE etc.
Suppose there was a successful transfer of power in Iran to a more lenient regime. Would they align with the West? Or might there be a re-alignment in the Middle East? All those countries form a single political agreement – at odds with the West. And then the oil and gas get switched off.
I consider this a plausible scenario. Maintaining Iran as a pariah state may be more in our interest than we would care to consider.
I don’t necessarily agree with the above, I just put it out there as a possible scenario.

If we get electricity from Norway (just as an example) which is made using oil taken from a hole in the North Sea that we could also be using, Milligram only counts any carbon happening after the electricity is in the UK and ignores all the carbon Norway uses to extract and fuel its power stations for this imported electricity.
The same for all the manufacturing.
Chinese steel shipped here doesn’t include all the carbon used to manufacture it and get it here.
That carbon goes into the same atmosphere whether it happens here or in China or wherever.
I believe if we buy a ton of steel from China we should also take the carbon (and whatever else) produced in its manufacture.
