    Life changing edition

Keir Starmer has put his response to war at the heart of Labour efforts to avert losses in the local elections – punts the FT.

Let me attempt to translate: Operation appease the muslim vote.

A quick flick through the papers and you’d be forgiven for getting the message that they wish this war would go on and on.

The familiar journalistic story telling trajectory would be for shrill demands for a ceasefire within a day or two of hostilities having broken out. Excepting in Ukraine of course. Which is a regime fully sanctioned conflict.

But with a nod and a wink from the TTK Coms Team, plus the reality finally sinking in that UK armed forces are a busted flush and our legendary international ‘soft power’ looking about as effective as Ken Dodd’s tickling stick (there’s one for the teenagers) this latest uptick iteration of the familiar post 1947 regional argy-bargy was suddenly branded Trump’s War.

So now it’s a toss up between those just wanting it to continue – for the Trump headlines and the news sales value (for the shits and giggles – as the kids would say) – and the hardcore that want to see Trump (the West) take an “L”

    You decide:

Fragile ceasefire at risk as Israel bombards Lebanon (Guardian)
Israeli hit on Lebanon threatens truce (FT)
Airstrikes risk blowing fragile ceasefire apart (Times)
And still it goes on… (Mirror)

Those were the screamer headlines in the top four titles in the BBC print press review – I think we get the message.

The ever-excitable Daily Mail are… how shall I put this? “having a moment” A bizarre kind of victory – riding troika on this editorial let’s name and shame the hysterical hacks: Chris Pollard, Mark Nicol and the improbably named Natalie Lisbona

The Tehran ministry for propaganda releases a feature photo for the online-only virtual Independent front page. In case you were wondering – a group of celebrating Iranian men burning an Israeli star of David flag. And to think our old bonfire night penny for the guy tradition is now considered a bit of a hate crime.

I do enjoy curating together a pair of headlines that when combined put the lie to a prevailing media narrative…

UK minehunter drones to protect oil in Hormuz… Prime Minister ‘stepping up’ work on reopening Gulf… – jingo’s and gung-ho’s the left-leaning i paper

Whereas – closer to home: Putin mocks Starmer in Channel… Russian warship escorts tankers through UK waters in defiance of Prime Minister’s threat (Telegraph)

OK, let’s go for the triple whammy combo to finally put the nail in the whole Starmer cross-dressed in drag posing in brass helmet, union flag shield and frock as Britannia rules the waves malarkey: Destination ‘El Dolrado’ UK… and still French police watch on as migrants set off in Channel boats (Express)

    And finally, finally…

Pastor charged over baptism drowning… gross negligence manslaughter following the death of a man during a paddling pool baptism… held in the back garden of an address in Erdington, Birmingham… Cheryl Bartley, 48, who is the pastor for the Life Changing Ministries church (Telegraph)

    You guessed it, she’s black.

I wonder whether the first female arch-bish of Cant might take this as a sort of sign from heaven?

I recommend the Daily T podcast on the ‘Quiet faith of Prince William’ from a few days ago. The title doesn’t sound very interesting but there are hidden depths about the parlous state of our country .
The show is hosted by Tominey and Stanley , the former is still an arch Tory and the latter a bit of shape shifter who is hard to pin down. The guest is Gavin Ashenden the former Chaplin to he late Queen.
Ashenden drops several big bombs about how this country in particular but also much of the rest of Europe , is coming to a historical rupture point when Christianity is crushed between the forces of the Woke left and Islam. He then boldly moved on to the issue of the silence of the Royal Family on the issue of Muslim rape gangs.
The two hosts who surely ought to have taken him up and expanded on these crucial points but instead they scurried away to safer less controversial ground. Just the opposite of what serious journalists ought to do and a demonstration of part of the reason why we are in the mess that we are in , media complicity and silence.
It is true that the late Queen said nothing about these issues but perhaps the comments of her chaplain four years after her death reflect the thinking in her close circle. But I’m sure that the Queen’s chaplain would be a member of the core ‘ old’ establishment and if he is willing to now voice such concerns on the record then perhaps there is the stirring of a fight back.

    Biased BBC- revisited.

For many years, we used to have our newspapers delivered. For various historic reasons we took the Mail, Times, and Telegraph on different days. The benefit of newspapers is that they can be leafed through quickly. The other benefit is that there are a lot of stories. The order and priority of stories differs but the main issues are covered somewhere.

Now the deliveries have stopped and a morning paper requires a long early morning walk. So instead I glance at the BBC webshite.

What a contrast. Only a small number of stories are covered that can be quickly seen, and a tiny number if are covered in proper detail. Meanwhile agenda and narrative clearly inform the ones that are shown.

In other words the ‘news’ is totally at the mercy of an editorial team where story selection is much more tightly controlled. A perfect opportunity for bias, which as we well know they exploit to the hilt.

Back here, as much as I want him kicked out of number 10, there’s a huge problem. The possible alternatives are even worse than him.
I know it’s hard to believe but the top end of the Labour Party is full of barmy mad cranks who would cause even more damage to the UK than TTK.

Then there’s the replacement for Labour, the Green Party who are no longer animal friendly (they must be pro halal being a Muslim party now) and don’t appear to be worried about the environment, at least not in the UK although they are very worried about the environment in Gaza.

The straits of Hormuz are between Oman and Iran.

Is this a daft question or not.
Why don’t all the tankers etc use the Oman waters and keep out of the Iranian waters?

Have the Iranians mined the Oman waters, if they have, why is there no fuss being made about it.
If all our leaders know the Omani waters are full of Iranian mines but are doing nothing about it and just keeping quiet I suggest some enterprising Iranians (who appear to be untouchable in the eyes of the law) could start gathering up the dinghy boys in the channel and returning them back to France (being paid for it by the UK) because nobody would challenge them.

Earlier in the article we learned (from the vile Yvette Cooper):

“This escalation in damaging, it’s wrong… we want the ceasefire extended to cover Lebanon.”

Aside from the fact that our government have absolutely zero credibility or input to the ceasefire process, it proves our government – and hence the BBC – are aware that the ceasefire does not cover Lebanon at all and the Iranian statement is pure propaganda.

Yet the BBC still put it up in big letters as the main headline of the day to portray Israel as the bad guys. Even thought they know it’s a lie. But they have no ethics whatsoever about printing the most blatant of lies to push their own agenda if they can put quote marks around it.

The ethics of the BBC are quite clear to those who read between the lines and spot the contradictions. They are dirty b@stards who have no ethics whatsoever.

      9 April 2026, 10:58am

Sir Keir’s latest trip is a masterpiece in ambulance chasing. He has jetted out, thus conveniently avoiding being present for the slow-motion multi-clown car pile-up that is his party’s local election campaign, to the Middle East in a desperate attempt to be involved in the de-escalation of the Iran war. Sir Keir’s decision not to be involved – even if it was taken basically by accident – was a wise one, however it is baffling why he thinks, having been unable to even mobilise one warship, anybody would be hanging on his word when it comes to clearing up the mess. Yet here he comes, clattering in, the Frank Spencer of international relations: ‘I have just one thing to say to all sides: “Ooo Betty!”’

‘There’s work to do’ he continued. True, but you won’t be doing it. Starmer claiming some active part in the Iran ceasefire is like the cast and crew of The Clangers wanting credit for the Artemis moon mission. ‘I’m here to carry out this work’ he continued. Having burned bridges with America and being hated by Iran, that work is probably more likely to look like three hours idly browsing the duty free at Dubai airport than actually sitting down with the belligerents.

As for the rest of his team – pisspoor – really, fundamentally pisspoor in every category.

The 6pm news on tv reminds me of one of those crude soviet propaganda films – it’s designed to make the defence twerp John healey to sound like his has a clue – apparently Russian submarines have been targetting undersea cables ( and why not ) you might recall last week he didn’t know how many ships the ex navy has –

    – as well as distracting from the broken HMS dinghy which was meant to be protecting Cyprus … no wonder the US can’t be bothered with Europe / TTK any more ….

He is trying to deny claims of a crime and unrest surge in London and not only that, he wants people who claim there is a surge to be silenced by law.

A guaranteed sign the calls are too close for comfort (khans comfort that is!)

Zack Polanski’s Green Party election speech today was a masterclass in simplistic student style pie in the sky Marxism. There was a nasty anti Israel edge to it as well. In short it was a wish list for people with little idea of how the real World works.

I would describe the Green Party under Polanski as a cult for people with their heads in the clouds. Polanski is its cult leader.

The best comment I found while trying to locate the text of Polanski’s speech was……….”A Circus is missing one of its clowns”

We have an early winner the BBC ‘bullshit’ article of the year award this year. In conjunction with Starmer and The Hypnotits of course.

‘We should not be at the mercy of events abroad’ – Starmer
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly7d9rv4nro

    This is Starmer’s solution.

    First the meaningless rhetoric:
“I’m fed up with the fact that families across the country see their bills go up and down on energy, businesses’ bills go up and down on energy because of the actions of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin or Trump.”
‘He promised that “this time, it will be different” and that the conflict in Iran “must now become a line in the sand”.’

    And then the plan:
‘He argued that government policies such as investing in renewable energy, strengthening workers’ rights and removing the two-child benefit cap would help prepare the country for increased global instability.’
WTF ??????. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. But it clearly does to the BBC who do not question any of it.

And the divisive Hypnotits – who the BBC now regularly give a soapbox to ?. His solution ?.
‘we cannot rely on the US for security, we need European security partnerships.’

So stop relying on the USA and rely on the EU then. That utterly corrupt, non-democratic war-mongering bunch of ‘leaders’ who elect themselves ?.

This is a utterly absurd article which is pure propaganda to help Starmer in the upcoming elections. He should have been ripped to pieces for his clear incompetence to deal with any of it.

And will the BBC hold him to account for these bold statements ?. Of course not.

And just look at the picture the BBC chose from Getty. All women or gay blokes and of course one woman is black.

    Tycoons’ wives edition

One often notes how FT headlines read like cryptic crossword clues: Oil prices spike above $100 a barrel as shut strait strains fragile ceasefire – the problem there is that they try to cram too much information into a single line header – necessitating the deployment of the preposition ‘as’. At least the FT sidesteps the old journalistic ‘despite’

Our BBC likewise avoids that familiar cliché with an ‘even if’: ‘Endless fears’: Even if fighting stops, the damage to Iran’s children will endure (BBC) – they do say the author of a news report doesn’t pen the headline – that’s the job of the sub-editors – but I’d like to think that a gifted story-telling son of Erin such as our Fergal Keane
(Special correspondent – no less) steeped as he must surely be in the celtic poetic bardic tradition (some would say he’s kissed the Blarney Stone) is more than capable of getting his message across in both long and short form: The war is inside his head now. A slamming door or cutlery being dropped makes him jump. The ceasefire doesn’t change that. “Before the war, I had no stress at all,” says Ali. (BBC)

We’ve more from those over-taxed Financial Times headlines to come but first, inspired by the FT headlines, here’s a little cryptic conundrum for you to solve : When is a distraction itself a distraction?

Answer: When it’s a news line handed to the press by a Starmer government minister.

Let me explain. Up and down market Labour-friendly outlets go with: We see you: Putin warned over spy subs in UK waters (online only former broadsheet Independent); We see you, Vlad (tabloid Mirror)

The left-leaning junior poundshop (plus 10% inflation) Gruan that is the i paper explains: Defence secretary also reveals three Russian submarines tried to spy on underwater data cables in UK waters… Healey said ‘no damage’ was done but accused Russia of using ‘distraction’ of Iran war

So you see how Britain’s military response to the Iran conflict – which your Mr AsI has likened to Starmer waving Ken Dodd’s tickling stick (there’s one for the teenagers) – perhaps the PM ran a health & saftey risk assessment and noticed people get hurt in wars – and International Lawyer par excellence Starmer finding it impossible to act against Russia’s oil tankers: Navy barred from boarding Russian ships in the Channel… would breach international law (Telegraph) – it’s a tad 4D Chess (as they say) but there might also be questions over how come if we can stop the big Rusky boats, then why can’t we stop the small rubber ones? Well now the Starmer regime needs a distraction… hence the new Coms Team advises him to reveal there’s Klingons off the starboard bow… With world’s eyes on Middle East, Russian subs tried to spy on UK – the humble comma doing all the conjunction work there for the Times

Speaking of matters grammatical and literary…

Books changed my life, says Queen’s first reading hero… Selina Brown pored over books as a child, enthralled at the wonders leaping from the pages. (BBC) – you guessed it, she’s black.

“As a young black girl growing up in Britain, I found possibility in stories long before I saw it in the world around me,” she told the BBC. (Yvonne Brissett, Reporting from in Birmingham, BBC) (Hat tip to History Debunked for this one)

    In other “NOT News”

I’m not Epstein’s victim, says Melania Trump (Times)

How’s that Net Zero – and by the way: Artificial intelligence will be unleashed across the UK to deliver a decade of national renewal (Prime Minister sets out blueprint to turbocharge AI, Gov.UK) – workin’ out fo’ yer?

OpenAI puts Stargate UK data centre project on ice in ‘sovereign’ AI setback (FT) – the Telegraph does a better job with a plain English headline – but one supposes it isn’t quite as editorially commited to Green policies as the obfuscating corporate pink paper: AI giant scraps British base over energy costs (Telegraph)

Is it for the captain of industry that the FT clings to its Green commitment – or is to reassure his little woman, with a hankering for Zac Polanski and who might fancy voting Green? – you decide…

Greens’ record in power tests claims to radicalisation… in Mid Suffolk where they won control in 2023, the evidence suggests that, in office, they might be fiscally conservative, not very radical (FT)

Disambiguation: Central government rules and regs on what councils are allowed to do are so strict that Nigel’s Reform have found there’s precious little scope where they run local administrations for the spending cuts they would have wished to make. Naturally the crypto-communist Greens will find the same road blocks in their path.

Local Government is a fiction. Central Government sets out legal statutory requirements and financial controls, most funding is from General taxation. Apart from that senior local authority officers run the show, elected councillors are more or less advisors rather than controllers. Put together with the ultra left woke ethos and Unions we have a right mess, a very expensive one too.

You are the only Fed Up we need and like here, Fed and there’s a very good reason that everyone is completely fed up with Rodney, because he insists that he is photographed with a group of totally disinterested professionals, workers, soldiers etc., while all the time he looks and sounds like the proverbial spare prick at a wedding…

Like friends above, I just cannot stand his thin, strangled, nasal whinge every time he opens his mouth. He’s utterly without charisma in PQTs, he purposely doesn’t ever answer any direct questions, and he’s totally oblivious to the fact that his mummified morons in a disastrous ‘cabinet’ are in the process of wrecking this coountry with the utter madness of his ridiculous posturing ‘crap zero’ ‘policy’, run by an incoherent madman, a tax regime which would make an old-style communist country blush, and a desire to apply Sadamesque scorched earth plans to all of us.

I really do think, that large private organisations should just ignore all his anti-fracking ‘laws’, anti-drilling rubbish, and just go ahead without his consent. When he whines about it being ‘against the law’, as he always does, then we’d all stick up for them and give him two fingers, and tell him to sue us! I bet his little commie committee would be arranged for an enquiry in a matter of hours, and not like his eternal avoidance of the raping foreigners infesting our country! Larger companies can all join in, and refuse to pay taxes etc., The general public would all start to join in and the whole economy would be through the floor in days!

      There! Goferit the lads…

      I feel a bit better now…
