The original term for a Muslim was ‘Mussulman’ (or Muezzelman, Mozelmann etc…) which stemmed from the Muezzen (Mozeen etc…), the man making the ‘call for prayer’.
As Lucy points out, as transliterations, from a variety of languages, there is no one correct spelling… a bit like the name Mohammed, Mohammad, Muhammed…….. peace be upon them all.

Perhaps the most surprising insight into yesterday’s events in Manchester by-election is that the Labour party has learnt so much.

It seems that the government is doing everything right ,it’s the stupid public who need the Government to do more of the same , (which is working so well) the public need more of this Labour success and they need it much quicker……So Sir Keir understands and furthermore he’s definitely the best man for the job… he knows that and has told us.
