There’s lots of angst about a failing Britain as represented by the churn of Prime Ministers….something must be wrong with Britain.
Well yes…but it’s not what the media or indeed the politicians might like you to think….whatever that might be.
What’s failing is, since Thatcher was toppled, the quality and mindset of those who worm their way to the top and take power…whether politicians, media, academia, police or in the institutions and NGOs that decide what we should think and how we are allowed to behave.
These are the people who look on with contempt and disdain upon the man in the street and his or her ‘common sense’ views and opinions….just look at Cameron who, yes, set in motion the Brexit vote but when it didn’t go his way he jumped ship and decided he would not be able to actually implement the wishes of the people. That’s pretty telling really….wants power but only if he can use it to bring in his own values and beliefs regardless of what the majority think.
Blair of course packed out the institutions with his own placemen and they have basically captured the reins of power whether they are in government or not…and the Tories utterly failed to address this by not booting them out and putting their own ideological placemen in positions of power and influence.
May was utterly useless and a two-faced blatant pro-EU liar who made bringing in Brexit far more difficult than it should have been and Boris was utterly hopeless in charge and betrayed everybody by flinging open the borders and ironically locking us all down….that aristocratic contempt for the masses.
Starmer pretended to play the game and deal with immigration but it was all theatre and smoke and mirrors designed to bluff us whilst he pandered to his Muslim voters and demonised Whites as his government imposed ruinous taxes and policies upon us destroying industry, businesses, jobs and the quality of life.
They all seem to hate the public, not least the native Whites, and democracy is rapidly becoming a feature of Britain’s history and not its future as Labour becomes ever more authoritarian and controlling from what we eat, to how we drive to what we think and say.
Britain isn’t broken…what’s broken is the disconnect between those who take power and those who have to suffer the results of their decisions force fed to them and told to shut up and like it…or else….whether you’ve got to rip out your boiler, become a Muslim by default or accept that a man can put on some lippy and a frock and claim to be a woman and can use women-only facilities.

This was written in 2010 as Labour were about to be booted out of power…but now in 2026 after two years of Labour and as an even more retro-Labour zealot takes the reins we can see that we are back to pretty much where we were in 2010….if not actually heading back to the ’70’s.

And the number of jobless is rising sharply.
Meanwhile, indebtedness, both personal and national, has soared. The scale of the problem is utterly shocking.
Not surprisingly, there are grave doubts whether Britain can pay these rapidly mounting debts.
Already, the Government has resorted, for the first time since World War II, to the short-term and dangerous expedient of printing money.
It looks increasingly likely that at some time in the next 12 months, international ratings agencies will downgrade British government bonds, opening the way to soaring interest rates and a profound financial crisis.
Simultaneously, our international standing has fallen. It is hard to exaggerate the damage the Iraq War has inflicted on our reputation overseas.
Domestically, the story is even more depressing.
At the start of this decade, the anti-corruption monitoring agency Transparency International ranked Britain as one of the most honest countries in the world.
Last year, we had fallen to 17th, below such notoriously corrupt countries as Ireland, Hong Kong and Austria.
This is the situation that David Cameron will inherit if he becomes PM. It is very grave indeed.
In fact, I would argue the task that lies ahead for him is every bit as difficult as the one which faced Margaret Thatcher when she entered Downing Street at a time of national crisis in 1979.
She took the helm at a moment of immense difficulty, but at least the problem was there for all to see: the bloated state and grotesque power of the trades unions and their obstinacy and intransigence in resisting change.

This disastrous misconception has been responsible for the explosion of big government, with all its malign consequences, over the past ten years.
Indeed, nobody can understand the course of the past ten years without grasping one truly horrifying financial statistic: government spending as a percentage of gross national product has risen from 38 per cent in 1999 to 48 per cent last year, and according to Treasury figures is set to rise much further.
Nor is that all. The appalling increase in government spending has been accompanied by a grotesque escalation of state bureaucracy.
Small businesses in particular are dying on their feet as a result of a giant increase in regulation, some imposed from Brussels, some home grown in Whitehall.
Tolley’s Tax Guide, to give one small but extremely significant example, has more than doubled in size since 1997, the year Labour came to power.
So as the second decade of the new millennium gets under way, Britain faces a choice.
We can pursue the failed pro-state policies of the past decade, with the resulting extinction of the entrepreneurial spirit that creates national wealth.
Or we can roll back the state and try to restore that spirit of freedom, self-reliance and aspiration that together provided the foundation of our national fortunes for so many hundred years.
If David Cameron sets out on that essential, yet desperately difficult task, he will deserve the support of all of us.’

Many years ago I read a book about subliminal seduction. It was about advertising and how subliminal messaging was used to change behaviour. One of the techniques was flashing messages or photos of the product etc many times for an incredibly short time during a programme. The brain will receive the message. I have been surprised by a couple of female friends who I would think slightly to the right in their politics, have been more positive in their view of Andy Burnham than I would have expected. Could the BBC be using that sort of messaging. I never watch the BBC so it wouldn’t work on me.
There is a similar situation with Trump where friends and family suddenly come out with an anti-Trump comment thrown into a conversation that had nothing to do with Trump or indeed politics.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was happening.
This cropped up for me years ago when I was at Art College in the late 1960’s as an aspiring graphic designer. We were recommended to read a book called “The Hidden Persuaders” by Vance Packard so the idea has been around for a long time!

I think it likely that the liberal establishment are willing to play any dirty trick , do anything legal or illegal, to hold on to power. They will have no scruples, nor will they care about how many lives they ruin or destroy.

Fedup, the practice of subliminal messaging may well have been banned, but only for people on the Right. This is a two tier state, everything from taking families into the voting booth, to what you tweet, to behaviour at demonstrations, the list is endless. Even if the BBC got caught flashing images, I’m sure after a 3 year enquiry, it would all turn out to be a bit of a mistake.
I’m seeing very brief images unrelated to recently viewed pages on YouTube on my Android phone – particularly over the last month – it might just be a glitch but several times on YouTube I’ve seen properly rendered full pages that seem to last about 100 milliseconds.
It’s my understanding that that the ban on subliminal techniques only applies narrowly to broadcasting and advertising – it’s often derided as ineffective -BUT- I can absolutely confirm that Derren Brown planted words in my head ( yes, it was very disconcerting – since the TV was in the background) and he’s done enough demonstrations of unequivocally priming subjects in a variety of situations.
Smartphones have massively larger reach than TV / radio / newspapers / desktop computers and users are an obvious target for manipulation.

IMAGINE MY SURPRISE…..
I confess I switched on the BBC today programme to listen to how they deal with “Andys” coronation.
“Top talent” Nick Robinson was wetting his pants with excitement.
But…the biggest surprise was Neil” God what a windbag ‘ Kinnock that unelectable clown from Labour’s past ( it was a surprise because I thought he was dead) anyway, droning, on and on and on, struggling, as in the past to ever finish that sentence. By the time he finished every listener had forgotten where or when he started ,or what his point could possibly have been. It does appear that he is in favour of “Andy” which must be a damaging endorsement.
Fussing around in the margins was another BBC superstar Chris mason, a sort of cross between Alan Bennett and Arthur Askey but without the formers warmth,wit and intelligence, every time I hear him he manages to be more irritating than the last.
It seems the balanced BBC has a whole day of “Andys” wonderful stuff planned, perhaps the biggest surprise is that “Andy ” in a Christ like moment is not entering Downing St riding on a white donkey.

Mad Ed likely pulling the usual con where he equates wind farm ‘Capacity’ with ‘Continuous’ power.
When a wind farm is operating at full capacity i.e. at the peak design wind then it may be able to power 23M homes. However the wind rarely blows so that full capacity is achieved. The actual average power is much less and even less likely is the wind farm generating the power when the homes need it. For that you need gas powered electric generators which can respond quickly.
So you need standby gas power stations able to power 23M homes when the wind does not blow.
