I watched a youtube video a couple of days ago which outlined how older people should claim the various little known benefits that they could be entitled to. One big theme was the fact these benefits and allowances are underclaimed, the facts are that Government and various bodies will never suggest you ask for them.
The other big theme was the differences in benefits and allowances there are in the various Countries of the UK. In general terms if you live in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland you will be entitled to far more freebies and handouts than if you live in England. How has this come about? There is some extra Taxation in Scotland but not enough to pay for the extras. The only explanation is the English are being ripped off to pay for Socialist Governments.

Yes Flot….and they forget that to get your pension now you have to work extra years….if you’re a waspy woman it’s probably 5 years +. So that’s several years where the State saves on pensions…but wants to take it off them at the front end as well.

        What is the Barnett formula?
The Barnett formula is used by the UK Treasury to calculate changes to the funding provided to the Scottish Government, Welsh Government and Northern Ireland Executive, which takes the form of an annual ‘block grant’. It therefore determines the overall funding available for public services such as healthcare and education in the devolved nations.

In 2024/25, the Barnett block grant amounted to £45bn in Scotland, £20bn in Wales and £18bn in Northern Ireland (before adjustments to account for tax devolution).1 This reflects differences in population size as well as the range of devolved public services in each nation.

    Oops.

WATO was telling us about the riots/protests in France and thought they had a safe bet when they wheeled in Christine Ockrent, a journalist who is a strong supporter of the EU and George Soros. Bet they regret that now.

First she said the protests had been politicised and manipulated by the Far-Left and then, shock horror, said there was an ‘Hamas factor’ in the protests….cue instant counter from the presenter…surely you mean the ‘pro-Palestinian factor’?
No…she meant what she said. Curious how the BBC are verging on romanticising the riots and present the police as the problem for being ‘too violent’…missing out the fact that 700 officers have been injured. And a strange take on that…the BBC reports that ‘riot police have clashed with protestors’……that’s putting the blame on the police and by using the word ‘riot’ makes them out to be more violent and that it is they who are attacking the ‘protesters’ when the headline should be ‘Rioters attack police’.

The BBC is an extremist organisation that peddles far-left propaganda that attacks the West and Jews.

Blame for Ann Widdecombe’s murder can be fairly placed with the BBC, the Labour Party, The Establishment whipped up Remoanerism and our education system. The BBC is the pathfinder here.

There is of course the anti right wing bias propagandised against Reform which becomes translated into ‘Far Right’ which progresses in those receptive to it as ‘Fascist’ or ‘Nazi’. It’s the culture of hate which encourages Left Wing loons into hate and violent action. Brexit was the catalyst for a lot of this. The anti Brexit bias of the BBC was all too obvious, actually bias is far too gentle a word for what the BBC got up to. The BBC conducted an anti Brexit campaign which included a hate campaign against anyone pro Brexit, the results are now coming to pass.

I for one can’t understand the extreme enthusiasm for the EU which I consider to be a piece of trash. It must be years of BBC bias.

Yup. The hatred for Farage in the BBC HYS comments by the troll farm was off the scale. They were literally like extreme spiteful 12 year olds. But I noticed they knew exactly how to write the comments they they didn’t directly break the BBC’s rules for posting. Just like maxi did on here (except for the odd time when he took too many meds and lost it). Hence I am 100% certain they are professionals at what they do.

I am also 100% certain the BBC knew exactly what was going on and allowed it. They knew it was generating hate and that’s just what they wanted.

Notice how this issue was never even mentioned in the aftermath. The story was ‘basic facts only’ then dropped. The BBC know full well what they did

Listening, against my better judgement, to Matt Chorley on 5 Live coming from the Tory conference. His Tory guest mentioned the not all there Jenny Riddell-Carpenter, Labour’s minister for nature and rural affairs, who declared that a liking for country pubs, black Labradors and warm ale is a Far-Right vision of Britain….“a nostalgic vision of Britain that never really existed…a very far-right nostalgic vision of Britain that we don’t want to have.”

It’s a ‘vision’ that did exist and is very much alive today.

The Tory guest suggested JRC had called people Nazis…immediately Chorley jumped in to ‘correct’ her…no no no…JRC merely said ‘Far-Right’…so in no way Nazis. Hmmm…well…she said ‘very Far-Right’…so yeah pretty Nazi-ish no? And let’s be honest the BBC loves to use Far-Right as code for Nazi…this is the BBC that called UKIP Nazis, that told us Brexit was taking us ‘back to the ’30’s'[ie…Nazism] and which rebroadcast ‘A Warning from History’ in relation to Brexit…which told us of the rise of the …Nazis….vote Brexit get Nazism. The BBC that was happy to spread the story that the new Reform badge was so like the Nazi’s badge…which is utterly ridiculous and stupid…

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRhTdyHWTyor0zmkmes6z20PKVDmZclTHY5hRZAZNTGaA&s=10

It’s notable that the BBC didn’t itself report on Jenny Riddell-Carpenter’s ludicrous and insulting comments…comments that go right to the heart of the Labour mindset and their way of dealing with things they hate…just call them ‘Far-Right’…much as the BBC does.

This is the government minister for rural affairs slandering rural people as Nazis and the BBC does not think that that needs to be commented on? How is she in anyway fit to be any type of minister let alone one representing rural people?

The BBC definitely knew that this was a bad bad look for Labour and so covered it up…and Chorley tried his best to repair the damage when the subject came up and the truth came out.

      Far-Right National Socialists.

Someone should educate those idiots as to what they are saying.

Despite all the left-wing academics doing their best to claim Hitler was far-Right, I reached the conclusion that he was so far Left, he degenerated into that state which extreme-Right and extreme-Left share. The one where they are chock full of hatred and intolerance for everyone else.

In their denials, the academics take puritan definitions of ‘socialism’ and highlight where Hitler didn’t meet them. When in fact – as with ‘fascism’ – the form it takes depends entirely on the global situation and the state of society at the time. The terms are more of a specific mental attitude adapting to circumstances as opposed to matching the Left’s textbook checklist.

Hitler was a Far Left Socialist and Nationalist. However people confuse Nationalism with Far Right ideology, in my opinion can be Right or Left but in the Centre as well. Plenty of people and politicians of the centre ground are Nationalists. Communism can be Nationalist or Internationalist ie Globalist, look at Stalin and Trotsky.
Hitler was anti Capitalist and business, like most hypocrite Lefties he had to compromise his beliefs in order for his regime to work. A number of very large businesses prospered under his leadership but essentially there were under direct State control so Germany wasn’t a free Capitalist economy during his time.

    From the Spectator…

‘The BBC is still in thrall to identity politics gibberish and still – like Labour – bemoaning division while stoking it more than anybody else. ‘

‘I keep an eye on the BBC News homepage, and it is a most peculiar place; a strange vision of an alternative universe, where truths inconvenient to the progressive world view are either downplayed or simply ignored. It isn’t hard to see why it is regarded by the ghastly Nandy as a ‘trusted source’. Ironically, it is a major purveyor not so much of disinformation – though there’s enough of that – but of underinformation. Its sins are mostly ones of omission. It has simply ignored awkward facts and hot potatoes that don’t align with its overarching progressive world view.

This is why people look at you as if you’re mad when you tell them the truth about transgenderism, or the long roster of sex offences involving Pride organisers, or immigration scandals. They trust the BBC, and they can’t believe they haven’t been told. Sonebody would surely have said.

The BBC, still, largely controls the Overton window. But progressives have used the brand’s reputation as a shell company to launder their tosh, always in the infuriatingly bland and plausible tone that used to count for something. This means that the public are misled, their news adulterated through a progressive filter, like meths strained through an old sock.

This, I think, is why progressives like Nandy are so devoted to the BBC. I don’t think they give much of a monkey’s about the other output. But BBC News is viscerally important to them. Their rhetorical fantasy of the world must be maintained, at any cost. And anybody who points out the glaring, gaping holes in its output must be a horrible and nasty person – a foreign bot or a crypto-billionaire fascist, or whatever.

The BBC is still in thrall to identity politics gibberish and still – like Labour – bemoaning division while stoking it more than anybody else. ‘

The Spectator suggests that the Left-Islam alliance is a threat to Jews in Britain but…Jews will outlast them as they have outlasted other threats…

‘I won’t tell my Jewish compatriots that they are becoming unnecessarily alarmed, because they are not. I won’t tell them it will all blow over soon enough, because I don’t believe it will. What I will tell them is that among their countrymen and women there are those, including me and, I believe, a great many others, who will not stand by silently while British Jews are intimidated, isolated, calumnied and assaulted. Your people are our people and your enemies are our enemies. Amalek, Haman, Hitler, Stalin, Arafat – all gone, but the Jewish people still live and will go on living, beyond the latest menace and all its miserable imitators to come. ‘

The issue with that is that those threats were neutralised by outside forces who defeated them such as Hitler and the Soviets but now there are no such forces…the enemy is within….Labour is in thrall to the Islamists just as much as the Greens are…and the Tories were little better…they who promoted the Islamist Warsi to be, lol, in charge of religion…and made her a Baroness…because she was a Muslim[and yet she remains eternally ungrateful]…and of course every institution and business are cowed by the Islamists and will conform to their demands….and of course the State Broadcaster blasts out anti-Semitic incitement on a daily basis whipping up anger and violence towards Jews worldwide.

There will be no safe space for Jews in Britain or Europe soon….the Establishment will help bring that deadly state of affairs in.

There will be plenty of c**ts out celebrating, in the name of Palestine.

There won’t be many moslems doing this in public, we have so many brainwashed white pinko lefties doing that for them.

Plent of unemployed wasters will be out today, banners will be churned out by the SWP and the police will do do nothing in the capital, on the orders of Lord Khan, the rape gang denier, and the MSM media will be out in force.

What we know about Christa Pike’s ‘unprecedented’ recovery after failed execution
    https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/c5398nwe9lzlo

Continuing the BBC’s extreme coverage of this case, we have TWO more articles as front-page world news including the usual daily recap of the whole story where the description of the awful crimes she committed to deserve it has shrunk even more. Just like it did when they had to tell us what Hamas did on Oct 7th – which eventually ended up as just ‘1200 people were killed’.

I watched this one because it’s the vile, far-Left Sarah Smith and I like to enjoy her showing what a complete freak she is. She always does her best to put herself in the videos – clearly a typical, total BBC narcissist. And all she does is come across as typical odd Lefty where something about them just isn’t right.

But the real story here is how upbeat and joyous she is to tell us the woman is recovering and conscious again. Like she had some great wrong done to her.

This woman beat and tortured another woman for 30 minutes with a box knifer before caving her skull in with a rock. And she actually kept a piece to show people – so God knows how terribly she kept bludgeoning her to do that to a skull. There must have been brains and blood all over the place.

But Sarah and the BBC don’t care about that. Basically in their eyes she is another victim of the racist and sexist society created by white men. That’s it. They don’t care who died or how horribly because all their empathy is fake. Left-wing activists are are nasty, evil people if you can see inside their souls.

    New money edition

One delights in the discovery of those nearby clashing pairs of headlines – which taken together tend to put the lie to some prevailing media narrative.

But how about a close paring which attempts to not simply set a new narrative but dares to provoke an outcome?

The left-leaning junior poundshop Guardian that is the i paper is at it this morning…

We notice the more left-leaning liberal the editorial outlook of an outlet – the more it will delight in bringing us what it will term “World” news – after all, the more our attention is focused overseas so the more we won’t notice what’s happening under very our own noses.

Inevitably one’s mind goes to the desperate distraction antics of Basil Fawlty who when exposed in some embarrassing situation, in front of both bemused hotel guests and the harsh judgement his harridan wife Sybil, would suddenly leap into a corner of the room where he began stamping on the ground and shouting “Oh my god, what’s that?!”

One further recalls that peculiar internet idiom: “Oh look, a squirrel!” – a popular cultural joke used to describe sudden, complete distraction or a short attention span – thank you A.I.

Well, I never… Outbreak fears… Putin’s black death cover-up… Leaked ‘squirrel virus’ may be WW3 bioweapon (Daily Star)

But of course US research-funded Chinese lab-leaked ‘bat virus’ was a completely natural occurrence – honest. But we digress. Where were we? Ah yes. The front page of the i paper

Kate Lister… I tried new fate nipple fashion trend – and felt transformed – no, not that one. But now I’ve got your attention again… Hey, our Kate’s church hat pegs aren’t the close pairing I was meaning to draw your attention toward.

Is it possible that the i paper is attempting to prompt and provoke its youthful lefty readership to action?

“World” news: Riot police charge at students as protests sweep France… Thousands descend on Paris to demand better eduction (i paper)

Coupled with the main domestic headline: School budgets set for squeeze after blunder over funding teacher pay rises (i paper)

What, our Labour government gifting unfunded public sector pay rises? Perish the thought.

Education Secretary has strained relations with the Treasury after suggesting that the wage increase would be fully funded… Lucy Powell announced 3.5% pay award… Treasury was not involved… Teachers’ union is now warning that there is ‘no new money for schools’ (i paper)

Come on kids… you know you want to… Aux barricades!

I interact with AI quite a bit now and two things amaze me:

      1) How it is an instant expert on just about everything you can imagine.

      2) How it regularly gets very simple things completely wrong.

For example, I was asking it for all 5-letter words containing certain letters. When it replied, it not only included several four letter words but also totally missed out one I was looking for.

When I asked it why, it said it had forgotten to also include words with the same letter twice in them.

As a kid – you take the efforts of parents for granted – they balanced caring for kids and working long long hours for little reward – no state aid – no excuses …. And passed on their honesty and desire for self improvement to the likes of me .

Both are long gone . But if they were here now – i don’t think they’d recognise what has been done to their country. I certainly don’t recognise it any more ….

Im more than normally reflective because of the third anniversary of the slaughter … and was thinking about the accusations of ‘genocide ‘ against Israel – of all countries ….
… an d think Israel exercised huge restraint regarding Gaza … which if I’d been the Israeli PM – I’d have ordered flattened after telling the Hamas supporters to leave . The huge tunnel system destroyed .

Thankfully Israel is continuing to identify and kill Hamas vermin involved in that attack – and hopefully will get them all …

But back to the BBC – The telegraph tells us ethnics get better treatment in the state broadcaster than whitey – hers the piece

STARTS The BBC pays white staff less on average than their ethnic minority colleagues in every pay band bar one, figures show.

Black, Asian, mixed and other ethnic minority employees received 13.2pc higher median pay than white workers in the corporation’s lowest pay band, and 5.3pc more in the highest pay band.

White employees’ median pay was higher – by 0.6pc – in just one out of seven pay scales. This is despite the BBC’s commitment to “fair, clear and competitive” pay.

Its annual report also showed that women in senior leadership roles were paid 1.4pc more than senior men on average; disabled managers were paid 7.5pc more than able-bodied staff; and the highest-paid LGBTQ+ employees earned 8.8pc more on average than “non LGBTQ+” colleagues.

The broadcaster’s “pay gap” report said men, the able-bodied, straight and white workers all still benefited from higher average wages when measured as a whole, with its overall ethnicity pay gap standing at 0.7pc in favour of white workers and 7.6pc in favour of men.

This is because higher proportions of staff from these groups take up a greater share of the top-paying jobs, bringing up the overall average.

However, it said there had been an increase in the proportion of ethnic minority employees in higher-paying jobs last year, resulting in the “largest year-on-year movement” in its figures.

The numbers are likely to stoke wider concerns over internal diversity targets and staff development schemes, which critics have condemned as un-meritocratic.

Sir John Whittingdale, the former culture secretary who drew up the BBC’s last charter in 2016, said the BBC “ought to be paying staff entirely on the basis of the value and merit they contribute for the job they are doing”.

During his time in Government, he led a campaign for pay transparency at the corporation which revealed a stark gender pay gap at the top end of the organisation.

“The BBC quite rightly put this discrepancy right, but I would expect the same principle of fair pay to apply to all characteristics, be it race, sexuality, or indeed gender,” Sir John added.

The BBC runs a number of mentoring and development schemes aimed at progressing the careers of diverse staff, including programmes designed to “progress talent from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds”.

It has committed to its so-called 50:20:14:25 Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Strategy, which strives for a 50pc gender split across the organisation; 20pc ethnic minority staff; 14pc deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent; and 25pc working class. The BBC said these were goals, not quotas, and had no association with pay.

Last year, it applied the representation targets to both its workforce and creative output for the first time.

The change was made while a critical review of representation in the corporation’s output was being carried out.

            Diversity ‘shoe-horned’ into programming
Published at the start of this year, the report found the BBC had made “significant progress” towards representing the country on screen, but that colour-blind casting and diversity drives had left audiences with the impression representation was being “shoe-horned” into programming.

It said efforts to represent a diverse Britain at times had led to a “sense that there needs to be a smattering of diversity in every programme which can lead to inauthentic portrayal”.

In particular, it found the BBC was overly “middle-class” and “London-centric”, in both senior leadership and in the commissioning of its output, and said it needed to better reflect the working class.

The BBC said that it had taken the review on board and was committed to hiring more roles outside London and reviewing content to ensure its representation was more “authentic”.

The broadcaster insisted its pay gaps are not as a result of unequal pay and has said audits have concluded that there is no systemic gender discrimination based on pay at the BBC.

A BBC spokesman said: “The BBC is committed to fair and equal pay for all. We continue to monitor our pay gaps closely and do expect to see small fluctuations year-on-year.” ENDS

We are appalled by reports that MEP Rima Hassan knocked down the Israeli and European flags displayed at the European Parliament as part of an exhibition honouring the victims and hostages of the October 7 massacre.

    …..

Rima Hassan Mobarak (Arabic: ريما حسن مبارك, romanized: Rīmā Ḥasan Mubārak; born 28 April 1992) is a French jurist and politician of Palestinian and Kurdish origin, born in the Neirab refugee camp, near Aleppo, Syria. Stateless, she arrived in France around the age of nine and settled with her family in Niort. After obtaining French nationality upon reaching adulthood, she earned a master’s degree in international law from Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

In 2019, Hassan founded the Refugee Camps Observatory, an NGO dedicated to the study and protection of refugee camps worldwide. In 2023, she founded the Action Palestine France collective. That same year, she joined La France Insoumise to contest the 2024 European Parliament election on Manon Aubry’s list. She was elected to the European Parliament on 9 June 2024.[1]

There’s a common misunderstanding that when they say ‘control our borders’, they mean ‘close our borders’. That’s just wishful thinking by the public. ‘Control’ in this context means ‘decide what happens to’, and the politicians have decided to have the borders wide open, whether by conviction, incompetence, or simply obeying orders.

Honest to God, the state of our once free and beautiful country is enough to make a strong man weep…

At the weekend we saw the full force of “the law” as our paramilitary police escorted literally hundreds of ILLEGAL aliens safely into Britain. This ghastly corruption of our freedoms is coordinated from start to finish and from top to bottom. British people are now second class citizens in our own country.

There was a curfew, where local people were told to clear the streets. One older chap was asked if he could prove his identity. WTF?

Coach loads of illegals were escorted from the coast in the sort of convoy usually only seen when we’re visited by American presidents, pop stars or popes. Just what is happening?

And today, on the third anniversary of that horrendous event in Israel, when over 1,200 young Jews were massacred, pro Hamas terrorist supporters will be celebrating on the streets on London.

I have little doubt that many of these gruesome people will be wearing keffiyeh masks around their ugly faces…though for us natives masks are verboten. And they’ll be screaming, “From the river to the sea”. They make my flesh crawl.

And as they clamber over and desecrate the sacred monuments to our war heroes, the police will give THEM the full protection of “the law”.

    I hope it pisses down…

Many times I’ve heard commentators saying how difficult it is trading with the eu since the (very weak) Brexit.

At the same time I hear our trade with the eu is up.

They say we have to jump through hoops with all their regulations.
    Well, take the car industry.
Nissan make both left and right hand drive cars where the left hand drive ones are exported (to the eu as well as other places)
The eu make right hand drive cars for export to the UK.
This has been going on for ages and it’s no big problem.
It will be the same for any manufacturer who, if exporting to the eu may have to alter ingredients in soup or whatever foodstuffs if that’s how the eu want it. Again, no big deal, they’ve probably been putting labels on foodstuffs in foreign languages for as long as they have been exporting, before, during and after our eu adventure.
It’s no big deal so why don’t the Right (who are usually the anti eu lot) make this known. They are poor at Brexit arguments.

    Same with pensions.
I think the pension or NI funds are in surplus, £80 billion or so yet nobody on the Right seems to mention this in discussions and the shouty lefties always seem to win saying how u affordable pensions are.

Basically, the Right don’t seem to be using facts to put the left back in their boxes.

So what do the BBC open the first HYS I’ve seen for a while on ?.

‘Puffin island on cusp of closure as it runs out of water’

Absolutely pathetic. This suppression of all things against their agenda is pure authoritarianism. We are well down that road now and the recent act of putting the entire Town of Gosport on:

    • Section 34 Dispersal Order: Authorised officers to scatter crowds and ban individuals from entering the town or specific zones for a set period.
    • Section 14 (Public Order Act): Gatherings were restricted and legally directed to a designated area inside Walpole car park.
    • Section 158 & Section 60AA (Anti-Masking Powers): Prohibited protesters from wearing face coverings to conceal their identities and gave officers powers to force the removal of masks.

puts us right on the start-line of a real totalitarian state.

    • Authoritarianism: A political system characterized by the rejection of political plurality, the use of central power to maintain the status quo, and reductions in the rule of law, separation of powers, and democratic voting.
    • Totalitarianism: An extreme version of authoritarianism where the state recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life, utilizing comprehensive propaganda, a single party, and state terror to silence dissent completely.

From the telegraph – the alleged killer of Anne Widdecombe

STARTS The man charged over Ann Widdecombe’s murder has been accused of trying to break into Nigel Farage’s home.

Joshua Kerry, 28, is accused of planning to target the Reform UK leader across a two-year period between May 2024 and July 8, 2026.

Mr Kerry, a former admin worker for a lift installation and repair firm, appeared at Westminster magistrates’ court in front of Paul Goldspring, the Chief Magistrate Senior District Judge, on Wednesday morning.

According to court documents, he is accused of carrying out research into a number of prominent people and individuals including the home address of Nigel Farage.

It is alleged that he travelled to Mr Farage’s home on April 20, 2025, where his partner Laure Ferrari returned home to find damage to the door and a bottle of lighter fluid in the porch.

“The inference is that an attempt was made to gain entry to the house,” the court heard.

A spokesman for counter-terrorism policing previously said Mr Kerry had been charged with one count of the preparation of terrorist acts, including against Mr Farage.

Mr Kerry, from Rotherham, South Yorks, is facing a separate charge for allegedly bludgeoning Miss Widdecombe, who was a Reform UK spokesman, to death.

It is alleged Miss Widdecombe died as a result of being hit on the head with a hammer 21 times. She was attacked while she was eating lunch in her secluded house in the village of Haytor, Devon, on July 8.

Mr Kerry is accused of driving 270 miles from his home in Rotherham to Devon in his red Vauxhall Corsa before attacking the former MP. ENDS
