Anna Soubry…..EU Stooge

“It is very clear tonight that, while the House has not passed a motion, it is clear to me that the British parliament, reflecting the views of the British people, does not want to see British military action. I get that and the government will act accordingly.”

Anna Soubry, a woman who is a complete stranger to the truth, who is the living embodiment of the old joke about politicians that you know when she is lying because her lips are moving.  Dishonest, treacherous and untrustworthy, corrupt.  A ‘Remainer’ of course.

A woman who tells us how she respects the outcome of the referendum vote but then goes on to denounce those who voted Leave as racist, nationalist, little englanders who were too stupid to know they were being conned by the Leave campaign as she declared that ‘We have ceded the field to the ill-informed, intolerant and often prejudiced.’

A woman who demands May gives her and her fellow Remain collaborators the details of the Brexit plan but then, as she headed in for a meeting with May along with those collaborators to try and strong arm May into backing a ‘soft-Brexit’, that is no Brexit at all, she was appalled to be asked what she would be talking about…apparently that is ‘private’ and the Public have no right to know what she and the Euro quislings are plotting in their backroom deals where the elite cook up their private little agreements to suit themselves, the very thing that the Public voted against. [Emma Barnett to be fair refused to be intimidated and bullied by Soubry who wanted to dodge the question and kept asking what Soubry was going to say in the meeting]

Soubry, on the same day, tried to insist that the vote on military action against Assad in 2013 was not really about that and yet you could have fooled me, the PM and every news outlet in the land……

From the BBC…

MPs have rejected possible UK military action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government to deter the use of chemical weapons.

David Cameron said he would respect the defeat of a government motion by 285-272, ruling out joining US-led strikes.

The US said it would “continue to consult” with the UK, “one of our closest allies and friends”.

France said the UK’s vote does not change its resolve on the need to act in Syria.

Russia – which has close ties with the Assad government – welcomed Britain’s rejection of a military strike.

From the Guardian….

Blow to Cameron’s authority as MPs rule out British assault on Syria

From the Mirror…

Syria: How did your MP vote in the Commons over military action?

Fairly clear that the vote was to establish the principle that the government could take military action against Syria.

Not a word that comes out of Soubry’s mouth can be trusted it would seem.  Post-Fact indeed.

Open Thread Thursday

The bias is endless and relentless…guess the BBC should just be shut down or its money be shared out with other news organisations…the money that is all too easily come by and taken for granted.  The BBC’s Nihal had a sneer at Amazon today as he told us that ‘The Man in the High Castle’ was Amazon’s top rating programme…then added ‘That’ll be 74 people then’.  Easy to sneer when you don’t have to work for your money and risk everything on a commercial venture with no guaranteed income.  Wonder how many views Top Gear 1, The Grand Tour, got?  Lot more than the BBC version I imagine.

The Road to Hell….signposted by the good men and women of the BBC

Tens of thousands dead, millions forced from their homes,  a terrorist state created on the borders of Europe and Europe destabilised and heading for religious war in the years to come.

Who to blame for this tragedy?

The BBC, the Guardian, Muslims backed by Corbyn and his treacherous Stop the War collaborators broke the will of the political establishment to engage in ‘muscular liberalism’, to protect human rights and to project power in order to enable repressed populations to take back their countries.

The BBC et al’s anti-war drum-beat spooked and cowed the politicians and meant the only effective military action, full-scale, boots on the ground, intensive war, was off the agenda as ‘British foreign policy’ was put into full retreat…ironically due to a few ‘extremist’ Muslims whom the BBC told us weren’t really Muslim…and yet at the same time told us the war in Iraq had radicalised the whole Muslim community and terrorism was the inevitable result…cake and eat it….the BBC fully exploited the ‘Muslim issue’ in order to promote it’s own anti-war agenda.

Now where are we?…..George Osborne speaks….

‘We have come to a point where it is impossible to intervene anywhere, that we lack the political will as the West to intervene.

‘I have some hope out of this terrible tragedy in Syria: We are beginning to learn the price of not intervening.

‘We did not intervene in Syria. Tens of thousands of people have been killed as a result. Millions of refugees have been sent from their homes.

‘We have allowed a terrorist state to emerge in the form of ISIS.’

Mr Osborne said: ‘Russia for the first time since Henry Kissinger kicked them out of the Middle East in the 1970s is back as the decisive player in that region.

‘That is the price of not intervening.’

The Syrian tragedy and the failure to intervene was of course, in major part, the fault of Ed Miliband who betrayed the Syrian people in a brazen act of political cowardice and pious, opportunistic grandstanding……

The weakness of Obama is actually best illustrated with reference to what happened in Britain, in relation to Syria. In August 2013, David Cameron, then Prime Minister, sought parliamentary approval for action. The vote was lost in the Commons when Ed Miliband, then Labour leader, led the opposition and 30 Tory MPs and nine Lib Dem MPs rebelled.

President Obama took it as a cue to offer Congress an effective veto, although no vote was needed. The result was the scrapping of US plans for greater involvement aimed at preventing the Syrian regime using chemical weapons. The Russians, and their allies the Syrians, saw their opportunity in this weakness. America was not going to get involved – other than trying doomed peace initiatives and some later air strikes – and Russia and Assad had the field of battle against the rebels to themselves. That leads to the horrors of Aleppo today.

It’s a funny thing though….Miliband made one of the most crucial and strategic blunders of this century resulting in mass murder and a refugee crisis that will end with Europe on its knees and the BBC doesn’t mention his name, doesn’t even mention that he led the West into a deadly and disastrous trap as it reports Osborne’s comments….

Aleppo: George Osborne attacks ‘vacuum’ of Western leadership

Speaking in an emergency debate about the conflict in Aleppo, Mr Osborne – in one of his first Commons interventions since losing office – said Parliament must reflect on its own actions with regard to the five-year civil war in Syria.

‘Worst decision’

In August 2013, Parliament rejected the government’s case for possible intervention in response to the alleged use of chemical weapons by Syrian regime forces.

MPs voted 285-272 against the UK joining President Barack Obama’s plan for US air strikes – which never came to pass because of political opposition in the US.

Mr Osborne recalled speaking from the backbenches ahead of the 2003 Iraq War and said he feared now that “it is impossible to intervene anywhere”.

Extraordinary…how can the BBC miss out Miliband’s major role in turning the vote against intervention?  Not the first time of course, the BBC has a habit of not linking Miliband to Syria.  Protecting one of its own?  The BBC itself of course hid a video that it had of a Syrian school being bombed with chemical weapons until after the vote had taken place.  Why?  Surely that was relevant and crucial evidence that might influence votes……ah..of course…the BBC didn’t want us to go to war.

The Reality…Breaking the silence

The BBC brings us wonderful and highly misleading images of Islam in the UK….but others, less intent on hiding the truth, reveal all…are Muslims really fighting back in huge numbers against the ‘radicals’ even as more and more young Muslims become ever-more ‘devout’ and self-identifying as ‘Muslim’ first and foremost?….and did ‘radicalisation’ really start in 2003 because of the Iraq War as the BBC wants you to believe?….

From a Pakistani Muslim, Gina Khan……from 2007 and 2009…

Reading Ayaan Hirsi Ali in Birmingham

As a young child and teenager I grew up in an area where the majority was English but there were also Greeks, Chinese, Jamaicans and Indians living in the same community. Everybody got on and respected each other. My parents ran supermarkets, so we were integrated, if not allowed to assimilate as females because of the religion. And now the white people are leaving, the area has disintegrated, and it breaks my heart. Most members of my family have moved out.

The area has been Islamised. Mosques, mini-mosques and madrasas rise up on almost every street corner, but there is nothing for the youth. Drugs and crime has made the area unsafe for young girls. Social services and the police know what is going on. I have witnessed anti-west and anti-Jew posters and leaflets appear in shops run by young bearded Muslims. I watched the Islamists mobilise the Muslim community right under my nose. Before 9/11 the time I could not name it, but I knew something was not right, but it was being done in the name of Islam.

I left because there was no way I was going to raise my children as a lone mother in a community where the Imams or mosques did nothing to serve the community or teach a plural Islam. Even the schools were allowing little primary school girls to wear headscarves, and that has nothing to do with religion. The extremists have had over twenty five uncontested years to mobilise the minds of British Muslims and their backwardness now dominates some areas.

Multicultural polices are not working…

Gina Khan on Breaking the Silence

Being a British Asian woman from a Pakistani ethnic background, a Muslim, the atrocities commited in the name of Islam effected me profoundly. Being a Pakistani had its own stigmas – being female meant being treated as sub-human in relation to the Muslim man. I can see how the ideology works – half the ideology is about oppressing Muslim women. That’s evident when you note that the first thing Islamists do is reverse the rights and freedom of Muslim women, when they do manage to create an Islamic state, as in Afganistan or Iran. I wasn’t going to participate in my own oppression!

I have lived within the Muslim community in Birmingham. I’m a born and bred brummie, I had been speaking out for a while. I had been writing to a lot of people hoping someone would want to focus on the truth. I knew what I knew and didn’t want to forever remain silent at any cost.

We are engaged in a protracted and widely dispersed war at the Jihadists’ discretion, which I knew had been going on before 9/11; our goverment was in denial…and still is. My insight has been through personal experiences and those of people around me.

My father was indoctrinated with this ideology in the early 1980s…Dad would say ‘you kids don’t know nothing – Islam will take over, there will be mosques everywhere, you must think of your after-life – not this life. Kaffirs will burn in the fire of hell.’

His words would frighten me, and I had no reason to doubt his words of wisdom as he was reading the Quran and attending mosques where pious religious mullahs gave sermons about the Quran. He was becoming anti-Jewish, even though he had never met a Jewish person in his whole life. He was becoming anti-west although he never actually went back to live and retire in Pakistan until mum died.

Now in hindsight I realise he was brainwashed into an ideology – by the same mosques and mullahs in Birmingham that preach tenets of Jihadism. Pensioners as well as the young get indoctrinated. Dad had become colder and more disconnected the more religious he became.

In 1996 I remember seeing flyers and posters advocating meetings for Muslims to talk about Jihad – a call for the ‘umma’ and anti-west propaganda…in a chip shop in Ward End run by mullahs. I remember thinking: why haven’t the police arrested these guys?

When the horrendous events of 9/11 happened , I remember thinking ‘oh my God, they have started to attack the West’. I was gripped in fear…and I understood who the enemy was. I was shocked when I realised that Western governments didn’t know who the enemy was.

I remained silent for most of my life but I was seething with anger at Islamists…how did this goverment not sense what was coming, while many at the grassroots level could sense it ? Remaining silent wasn’t an option for me any more, especially when more Jihadists were being discovered and named locally. Many mujahideens were known to people who had gone off to fight in Jihad in Bosnia. One of the Jihadists who was arrested in Birmingham in February was a friend’s brother. A local British-born Pakistani lad in the armed forces had been killed in action in Afganistan, and I couldn’t believe they wanted to behead someone in the armed forces just to instill fear in us all.

In search of my religion I had also picked up books translated in English from the same bookshops that were raided. I had been a victim of domestic violence…the beating of women authorised in Islamic books and political Islam theories put my faith in turmoil. I’m pleased that other Muslim people are speaking out.

I have stated to many that this war will last at least 25 to 30 years. Prime Minister Brown, just like Mr Blair, won’t use the word ‘Jihad’ – they mention the ideology but never define it to their people, which I believe is counter-productive. Muslims themselves have to understand the concept and reasons behind the ideology, and it isn’t just because of foriegn policy; this ideology was being implemented long before the Iraq or Afganistan war. The only way to really understand the enemy and what Jihad means, is to understand the historical roots of Jihad, intertwined with the history of Muslim women and their struggle to be emancipated.

The real clash is between modern 21st century Muslims living in the present and backward-thinking Muslims with the mindset of the 7th century.

The goverment had until recently engaged and somewhat funded the MCB. In my eyes they are Islamists, they are Jihadists’ mentors.
They are not the voice of British-born Muslims or British Islam. Inayat Bunglawala gets on my nerves…everytime he makes a statement to the press, I wish he’d put a sock in it.

Initially Inayat Bungalawala had supported Osama bin Ladin, calling him a ‘freedom fighter’ in 2001; he supported Wahhabi Clerics and Hamas leaders, and currently these men want a new law so that banning religious discrimination can be implemented – which could shut down debates about Islam.

I know that I will have ‘issues’ if I’m critical of my religion and the supremacist attitude that govern us all currently…..

but what the heck, Islamists disrespect our logical reasoning and humanity every day. I have a right to my full humanity…I do not believe that whoever created me wanted me or any other woman to walk out of the front door with half the IQ He blessed us with, no one could suppress/oppress me or shut me up again – ask my ex-husband. I don’t want my daughter to have my life…I intend to set her free as a full human being, one day. She was born in a free country. She can write her own life script.

In the mean time I will continue to fight this mentality and backward mindset – I will exercise my freedom of opinion and debate…that’s what democracy is all about isn’t it?

Out of the mouths of babes and Muslims….or Muslim babes

Saba

‘You kids don’t know nothing – Islam will take over, there will be mosques everywhere, you must think of your after-life – not this life. Kaffirs will burn in the fire of hell.’

‘The extremists have had over twenty five uncontested years to mobilise the minds of British Muslims and their backwardness now dominates some areas. ‘

The BBC doesn’t do ads, except of course it does….relentlessly plugging its own programmes in ingenious and varied ways.

Yesterday we had an endless procession of ‘discussions’, or trails, or puff pieces for ‘Muslims Like Us’ which was to be aired last night.  All of course peddled the message about the wonders of Islam and Muslims and how the [boo hiss] ‘extremist’ Abdul Haqq was a very small minority and his views were not mainstream Islam…such as segregation of women…could have fooled us…and indeed anyone attending FOSIS events or indeed Labour Party ones….

Image result for labour party muslim segregation

I was lucky enough to catch one such discussion on Woman’s Hour where the presenter informed us that ‘Muslims Like Us’ was a desperately needed programme, one commissioned by a Muslim for the BBC…her intention to show that extremists are a minority in Islam and that women could show they were strong enough to stand up to the men…yeah…OK…in a controlled environment where nobody is going to be threatened or physically abused or intimidated…and they can freely leave the house if they wish.  Let’s see the real Muslim community at home around the kitchen table discussing ‘British’ foreign policy, white women, gays, Jews, British values and Israel….and the Islamic State.

Are the fanatics a mocked minority or those who rule the roost?

To me, England, for all its ills, was the promised land.

Instead, I have found the horror I fled has followed me here. It is all around, eroding the very core of everything Britain believes in.

Why, then, have successive Governments refused to acknowledge the incestuous cultures that have evolved in these ghettos? Why does no one challenge the existence of the so-called ‘Islamic Parliaments’, with their retrogressive laws, that exist in cities such as Bradford and Leicester?
In these cities, teams of vigilantes terrorise Pakistani communities. They turn up unannounced to homes, insisting that Ramadan is respected and checking that everyone has come to prayers. They force shops to close, they check that the community is fasting, that women wear the veil.
The defenders of our precious multiculturalism must get real. My message to those who promote these entrenched ghetto ideas is this: go home if you want to practise your form of Islam. There is no place for it here.’

Unfortunately one guest was not on message…a Muslim convert who converted in 1969, Saba, who indeed thinks Haqq is wrong…what did he get wrong?  The timing.  Now is not the time for threats…first in Islam you must discuss and persuade…only if that fails do you ‘bash’ the non-compliant non-Muslims.  Ooops.  She tells us that it is high time for a programme like this to ‘normalise’ Muslims in the Public’s eye and we must realise that Islam is for the entire planet…ooops.  Yeah…thought that was the BBC plan…to make Islam seem harmless, normal and everyday…when the truth is much more sinister and dangerous for Western democracies [Just look at the photo above to imagine the brave new world under Islam]

So Saba revealed the truth about Islam…violence is quite permissible to enforce Islamic domination and Islam will take over the world.

Want the truth? A Muslim tells all….

The Talibanisation of British childhood by hardline parents

In 2003, Bakri told a journalist that their brand of Islam would get to increasing numbers of young minds and hearts.

It has – and to their parents, too.

The rapid spread of rigid, diehard Islam is deeply worrying. Yet those in power, focused on terrorist cells, seem oblivious to this other peril.

I could never have imagined, nine years on, that the Taliban would be claiming to have ‘won the war’ in Afghanistan.

Or, much worse, that our politicians and Muslim ‘leaders’ here would allow their twisted ideology to spread across Britain.

Make no mistake, Taliban devotees are in our schools, playgrounds, homes, mosques, political parties, public service, private firms and universities.

And if we are to have any hope of combating them, we need to stop this attitude of appeasement and understand why so many Muslims are attracted to the most punishing forms of belief, suppressing women and children.

In a no doubt absolutely coincidental juxtaposition Woman’s Hour followed that with a discussion about the Mafia in Italy and how they treat women….basically as slaves with not a little bit of violence…the presenter told us that this was ‘shocking in 21st century Europe’.  HMMM….can’t help thinking we were supposed to then think we shouldn’t critcise Muslims for similar practises….errr…except of course such behaviour by a famously violent criminal gang is illegal whilst seemingly part of Islam…odd that the BBC should compare the religion of peace with such a brutal, bloodthirsty and violent mob though.  Must be some mistake.  Wonder when the BBC will declare Muslim practices ‘shocking in 21st century Europe’…instead they promote them and encourage mass immigration of those who follow that ideology.

However to show just how much trouble we are in there’s also this fawning and foolish piece in the Telegraph…

Muslims Like Us is a wake-up call for Islamophobes everywhere

From the moment Haqq walked into the Apprentice-style luxury rented accommodation and started handing out leaflets about how women should dress, it was obvious he was not going to get very far spreading his message among these housemates. What became immediately clear was that try as he might – and boy was he trying – his fellow Muslims found him nuttier than the fruitcake he doubtless regards as the food of Satan.

“This is so pathetic,” said housemate Saba, as Haqq refused her greeting with the observation that the Koran forbids him from shaking hands with a woman, “what he gives you is the illusion of knowledge. He’s bogged down in the literal interpretation of words.”

This was the fundamental (and fundamentalist) point. For most of the housemates, Islam was a background comfort in their lives, prayer an opportunity for contemplation. It was certainly not the excuse for fascistic intolerance. These were good folk no more likely to be swayed by Haqq’s dogmatic misreading of the Koran than would be the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Besides, what made Muslims Like Us so compelling was that Haqq was an oddball sideshow. What this programme did was shed light on a section of society systematically vilified for the actions of its Haqq-like loony fringe.

So someone who follows Islam in a devout and conservative manner is an oddball on the lunatic fringe who exercises fascistic intolerance as revealed to him by the perfect word of Allah in the Koran?  Jim White, the writer of that piece, clearly could have had a good future at Ratners as their PR monkey.

Gerald Ratner wiped £500 million from the value of Ratners jewellers with one speech in 1991.

He said: “We also do cut-glass sherry decanters complete with six glasses on a silver-plated tray that your butler can serve you drinks on, all for £4.95. People say, ‘How can you sell this for such a low price?’ I say, because it’s total crap.’

Muslims Don’t Like Us

The BBC is attempting a fresh assault upon our perceptions and the Truth as it broadcasts ‘Muslims Like Us’ in the hope that we all come to realise Muslims are just like us…’Us’ being normal, liberal, democratic beings who value democracy, freedom of speech and thought and freedom of lifestyle without it being regulated by some bloke in a beard who dictates to us from a 1400 year old book that tells us to kill the unbelievers.

The Guardian gives us the lie…

“It’s no surprise that out of 10 contributors, nine of them through the course of the two hours do everything they possibly can to distance themselves from his views. I think that’s quite representative of what happens in the Muslim community all the time.”

We are supposed to think that the ‘house’ represents the Muslim community and the genuine religious and political make-up of it and that Muslims almost to a man reject ‘extremism’.  But the ‘extremism’ is actually Islam, the fundamental, pure Islam as it is supposed to be…the whole point of Islam is that it was ‘revealed’ by God in order to replace Judaism and Christianity which had been perverted by their followers as they broke up into sects and picked and chose what they wanted to from their scriptures.

Tim Stanley in the Telegraph spells out the truth…that it is the fanatics, the conservative Muslims, who rule the roost….and the programme demonstrates this despite the Guardian interpreting it otherwise….

It puts ten British Muslims in a Big Brother-style house to see how they’ll get on. Nine are quite normal, only one is a fanatic.

And yet it is the fundamentalist who dominates the screen and makes his housemates change to suit him. It confirms the view that Britain does not have an Islam problem. It has a fundamentalism problem – and our innate decency, which is common to Britons of all races and religions, actually incubates it.

Not a conclusion the BBC intended…that Britain does have an Islam problem….and that it is the ‘tolerant’ BBC that incubates such problems by refusing to acknowledge them even when they stare them in the face as in their own programme.

Of course we’ve already seen this… Mark Easton informing us that if Muslims wanted Islamic fundamentalist schools, and that kept them happy, then they should have them…..and of course, infamously, that extremists like Choudary, were the new Ghandis, Churchills and Nelson Mandelas, to be celebrated in the future as ‘revolutionary’ thinkers.

Giles Fraser is of a similar bent as he promotes mini-Pakistans, segregation and eventual civil war in the Guardian…

Assimilation threatens the existence of other cultures

It adds immeasurably to the richness and diversity of how life is apprehended that not everyone sees the world in the same way. It is mind-expanding to be challenged by those who commit to another way of life. What a miserably grey one-dimensional place it would be if the dominant model of middle-of-the-road liberal secular capitalism became the only acceptable way of living.

Why is integration such a self-evidently good thing?

Muslims. They are serial offenders in their resistance to the hegemony of integration. They won’t allow the Borg-like values of secular liberalism to corrode their distinctiveness. They seek to maintain their religious convictions and way of life. They refuse all that nonsense about religion being a private matter. They stand strong against the elimination of diversity. And we are all immeasurably richer for their resistance.

Yes…terror, bombs, beheadings, murders, Muslim patrols, constant blackmail to pressure us into adopting backward and unpleasant Islamic values and the attempt to subvert British schools in order to Islamise them.  Yep….so much richer for that ‘resistance’ to British values.  Non-integration threatens the existence of our culture and society.

What ‘Muslims like us’ hides is that the Muslims in the programme do not represent the vast majority of Muslims and that young Muslims are in fact becoming more like the one ‘extremist’, ever more devout and fundamentalist, identifying solely as Muslim and not British.  What’s missing is the fact that there is no compulsion…participants can leave the house when they like unlike Islam and their community which pretty much traps them into the culture and religion…and the BBC refuses to accept the power that a few ‘extremists’ hold over the community as they enforce Muslim values.

The Man Who Shocked The Liberal Consensus

The Government has acknowledged the importance of “soft power” in global politics with an unprecedented £85m investment in the BBC World Service to support initiatives in Russia, North Korea, the Middle East and Africa.

‘When the legend becomes fact print the legend’.  Obama is certainly doing that with Trump and his Russian ‘backers’.  Obama  leaves Office doing his utmost to damage Trump whilst he has the opportunity.  He is rushing forward an investigation into the hacking of Clinton’s emails and is telling the world that the Russians did it…politicising the intelligence services for his own ends…never mind the ‘facts’ aren’t so clear cut…and of course glossing over the genuine story…that being Clinton’s failure to secure sensitive information…..

Intelligence agencies do not have specific intelligence showing officials in the Kremlin “directing” the identified individuals to pass the Democratic emails to WikiLeaks, a second senior U.S. official said.

And that Wikileaks has denied the source of their ‘leak’ was Russia…

Julian Assange is denying that the Russian government is the source of WikiLeaks’ trove of hacked emails from John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, that have produced embarrassing and potentially damaging messages about the Democratic nominee.

Curious how the Hero of the Left is now the enemy as his anti-Establishment site also takes on the Liberal Establishment.

There is a loud cry of ‘foul’ in the air as the Democrats try to claim Trump was only elected because of Russian interference in the election [not due to Liberal failures and incompetence then?] and outrage at the thought Russia might actually have interfered…

Incoming Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer on Saturday called for a bipartisan congressional probe into the reports of Russian electoral interference. “That any country could be meddling in our elections should shake both political parties to their core,” the New York Democrat said.

Of course what was it that would have allowed Russia to interfere?  The fact that Clinton kept her sensitive emails on a private email server that could be so easily hacked.

That rather points out very clearly why the fact she kept her emails on an insecure server was important, never mind the actual contents that revealed so much ‘bad news’ for her.  She enabled a foreign power to use those emails to interfere in one of the most important political events in the US calendar…the Presidential election.

The story isn’t that Trump may or may not have been helped by Russian black ops but that Clinton enabled that….note that Obama is admitting by his actions that the emails were important and damaging to Clinton…and if so then it is irrelevant if Russia hacked them…..weren’t they doing the US Public a service by bringing such ‘crime’ to light?  Or is Obama saying they should have been kept in the dark about Clinton’s crime?

Then again the US has never interfered in other countries’ politics has it?  Never mind past history let’s look at the current President’s record….

Barack Obama on the EU referendum: I won’t tell you how to vote but here’s how I want you to vote

Or how about the upcoming election in Germany…any favourities Mr President?

Obama Swoons Over Angela Merkel, All But Endorsing Her Re-election

I try to make it a rule not to meddle in other people’s politics…..[but]….You know, if I were here and I were German and I had to vote, I might support her.

I’m guessing Gaddafi wouldn’t be too happy about Obama’s interference in his country having been removed from power and slaughtered….and let’s not even get started on US interference in South America or the rest of the Middle East such as ‘regime change’ in Iraq.

I’m also guessing Obama wasn’t so unhappy when Cameron denounced Trump as ‘stupid, divisive and wrong’…and not a bit dangerous…

David Cameron calls Donald Trump ‘dangerous’ in fresh attack

David Cameron has refused to apologise to Donald Trump for saying the US presidential candidate was ‘divisive, stupid and wrong’ to suggest banning Muslims from entering the US.

The BBC and Guardian as we know ran a full-on anti-Trump campaign that vilified, mocked and demonised him…perhaps Obama should launch an investigation into foreign media interference in internal US politics…especially as it was so deeply dishonest and unbalanced.

Then again the BBC’s World Service is designed specifically to interfere in other countries’ politics to  promote western values, democracy and liberal progressiveness on a whole range of subjects….projecting ‘soft power’   Which is why it so frequently gets blocked in countries like Iran and North Korea.

The Government has acknowledged the importance of “soft power” in global politics with an unprecedented £85m investment in the BBC World Service to support initiatives in Russia, North Korea, the Middle East and Africa.

“The World Service is one of the UK’s most important cultural exports and one of our best sources of global influence,” said Lord Hall

Weapons of mass persuasion….Soft Power…

The US was once the undisputed global powerhouse. Now it is under threat from contenders who use the influence of culture and lifestyle to fight for global economic and political dominance.

This political manipulation is referred to as soft power – achieving what you want by attracting and persuading others to adopt your customs – thriving on control, not force.

In this series, Philip Dodd investigates how this cultural rivalry is being formed and what weapons of persuasion are being deployed, from global sporting fixtures to cultural events and educational projects.

We’ve looked at the BBC’s ‘Soft Power’ before…it’s now called ‘Media Action’ but used to be called The World Service Trust and is in essence nothing more than a propaganda weapon, soft power that supposedly spreads democracy but in fact seems to be intent on encouraging dissent and protest on subjects close to the BBC’s heart such as the environment and climate change.  The BBC teaches and encourages journalists in foreign countries to actively work against their own governments using actual ‘journalism’ but also by inserting propaganda into everyday broadcasts and programming such as dramas, documentaries and comedies.

Here is a taste of how important they think the media is in changing population’s minds and behaviour and subsequently how they can influence and pressurise governments and other organisations to submit to their demands….

BBC World Service Trust(where the BBC does not think you are looking…so they print the truth):

  • ‘Media’ matters because it underpins how societies respond to the problems they face. This makes media not only relevant to the most urgent problems of poverty and marginalisation – it makes it critical to solutions designed to address them.
  • It matters too because it is a critical part of strategies to [alter and control behaviour.]
  • The media, and increasingly new technologies, is increasingly how humans communicate with each other.
  • How well we communicate with each other has a good deal to do with how successful we’re likely to be in confronting the massive problems we face (and the masses.)

Making informed choices

  • Media enables people to access information on issues that shape their lives, without which they cannot make choices.
  • Media enables people to hold their governments to account and provides a critical check on government corruption
  • Media and communication enables people and communities to understand, debate and reach decisions on the issues that confront them

Media and communication can be immense and powerful instruments for change and empowerment in society

  • Media can be an important part of the solution to development challenges. But they can also be a part of the problem
  • Media can be used as instruments of oppression, manipulation and hate
  • Truth can be distorted as well as illuminated, malpractice hidden as well as revealed.
  • The character of a country’s media tends to determine the character of a country’s democracy and society. It underpins how people learn, understand and shape change.

Engaging at high levels to gain influence:

Our initiatives and corresponding audience research seek to engage at four different ‘levels’:

The sector level with policy and decision-makers

The organisation level with state, commercial and not-for-profit entities

The practitioner level with professionals and opinion leaders; and

The individual level with various target audiences

Drama can be a powerful mechanism for development. It can build an emotional connection with target audiences over a period of time, while modelling situations or behaviours….drama, discussion programmes, public service announcements – can be most effectively used to deliver information and stimulate discussion.

Viewers or listeners become attached to characters and share in their experiences, sometimes discussing them with people around them, reflecting on their situations and actions and how they might respond if it were them.
Reinforcing the message
In building a campaign we generally use a range of formats, because they cross-promote one another and reinforce messages. Additional materials – such as posters and comics – may also be used to echo the messages and stories conveyed by other media outputs.

Open Thread Friday

Time for another one of these….any bias about?  Perhaps some careless talk?…such as Emma Barnett talking of ‘IRA soldiers’ giving the murderous terrorists a massive amount of undue respect that the BBC never affords to British soldiers whom they hound at every opportunity….Barnett, as she rejected claims that there was a witch-hunt against British troops in NI, never once mentioning Phil Shiner’s fall and the false claims he made that the BBC peddled as fact for years.
