THE BIG QUESTIONS?

Just watching Nicky Campbell’s wonderfully awful “Big Question” programme.

Here were the two main issues that were covered.

After 200 deaths, have we the moral duty to remain in Afghanistan.” The first guy Nicky interviewed was called Mohammed. (sic) The lead panellist on this, Rory Stewart, believed that we should be get out of Afghanistan. Listen to the debate and all you can hear is the dismal beat of surrender from the BBC and it’s selected audience, the same relentless beat that was heard during our time in Iraq. Ming Campbell was on to make it clear we cannot win the war against the Taliban. Good news for our troops out there, eh? Kaye Adams from garbage TV show “Loose Women” was also of the view we need to get out and should never have been there in the first place. (She’s obviously not bothered about “loose Afghan women” Listening to the debate, the conclusion is that the only real reason to be in Afghanistan is to uphold women’s rights. It seems that fighting Islamic terrorism is not really the issue and we need to chill out and be relaxed about the Taliban. Rory informed us Bin Laden was in Pakistan, not Afghanistan, though he did nor reveal his source for such a claim and Nicky Campbell did not question it, naturally.

The next issue for debate is “Does Evil exist.” An Iman was on to tell us that only Allah can determine evil and so he thinks we should not label people as evil. There was also a humanist on who was able to tell us it is wrong to label Tracey Connolly – the mother of Baby P as “evil”. Worthless was his preferred term. Another person on the panel, a Professor of course, suggested that she was a victim. There was a widespread consensus that all religion is evil. Naturally the Islamic scholar was there to put the moral argument for the application of the concept of evil. No Christians were to be found in this “representative” Edinburgh audience.

Just where DOES the BBC get these audiences from?

SHAPPI ALERT

I commend universal Shappi to you. She is on the Andrew Marr programme this morning and has become the BBC’s favourite pet Iranian. Notice she reckons that it might have been a fair election in Iran.

GROW YOUR OWN BIAS!

This excellent example of bias was picked up by Will20001 on our current Open Thread and I thought it deserved much broader exposure. Get this;

A propaganda piece on BBC2 last night, an uplifting tale for the little people who are fearful of immigration.

“Grow your own” an everyday tale of allotment holders. BBC Radio Times sets the scene

An influx of refugees from Iran, China and Zimbabwe initially brings out the worst in these Little Englanders, but as they unite against a common foe – a mercenary mobile phone company wanting to erect a mast – a sort of garden-shed socialism is achieved

So there you are, unite to fight capitalism – you know it makes sense.

The programme made by “those who know what’s best for you” & financed by (who else) you – joint BBC/National Lottery production

ON MANDY…

The BBC’s current crusade (Can I say that word?) against the Conservatives continues in this little construction. Note the way that it is an image of Lord Mandelson that the BBC chooses to use with regard to this story AND it is Mandelson who gets the last word on the subject. Setting up the Banks against the Conservatives must get BBC hearts a fluttering whilst simultaneously suggesting that Labour is the friend of capitalism!

INSTITUTIONAL HOMOPHOBIA

I see that the BBC has afforded celebrity gay and businessman Sir Michael Bishop with a platform from which he can accuse the world of business of still holding prejudice against gay people. Peter Tatchell also gets the chance to put in his point of view. Naturally there is no contrary point of view. We’re all homophobes now…..

IN EXTREMIS

Sometimes the BBC goes beyond just normal bias into surreal bias. I happened to catch a story on Today this morning in which a BBC reporter stated that since coming to power in Gaza, Hamas has “cracked down on extremists.” Phew – aren’t we lucky that Hamas are so responsible and moderate? My god, when you think of just how savage the Hamas organisation is, ONLY through the prism of BBC bias could anybody declare that they have “cracked down on extremists”. They ARE extremists, barbaric Islamic killers of the worst kind and yet…..

OPEN THREAD

Friday evening and the weekend approaches! Time for an open thread and your chance to highlight the issues that concern you most…

GOOD NEWS FRIDAY

I was pleased to read that one bunch of Islamic killers are busy killing another, as the BBC reports. The odd thing is the way in which the BBC report refers to those fighting against Hamas as being “radical”. I wonder if this is a BBC term of endearment? Hamas are about as “radical” as they come in the world of Islam but it seems that they have met some followers of Al Queda who have turned up in Gaza of all places. Who would have guessed that Hamas now represent the forces of conservatism in Gaza????

HANNAN ONSLAUGHT

The BBC are really milking the Daniel Hannan comments on the NHS. I see that this is the LEAD story this evening on the BBC with the risible Health Secretary Andy Burnham declaring Hannan “unpatriotic” for his “attack” on the NHS. The BBC keep repeating the lie that Hannan has “attacked” our wonderful socialised health care system when in fact all he did was point out the all too obvious failings it has. The BBC meme is simple – any criticism of the NHS is unacceptable and when an intelligent man like Hannan steps out of this sickening consensus on Health he is deemed a traitor to his country. I also notice that the BBC comedians are also on Conservative attack mode this evening, I caught a little of the Now Show and they were getting stuck in. The BBC is happiest when it is damning the Conservatives in general and forcing them to come out with pro-socialist statements.

MUSLIM WEDDINGS

Well, it’s not everyday I feel a sense of sympathy for a Labour MP but in all fairness, I did feel a little sorry for Jim Fitzpatrick when he was being interviewed on Today this morning. Fitzpatrick has incurred the wrath of all those “moderate” Muslims out there by walking out of a Muslim wedding that he and his wife were attending when they askes to sit apart from each other. Listen to the excerpt from BBC Asian network discussion played here – note the lady who speaks at the very end. More Muslim moderation. In all fairness to Fitzpatrick, he has no chance here. Islam is intolerant of women, of course, but it is also entirely incompatible with our western value system. Fitzpatrick was lucky his wife was not asked to don the Burqa. The liberal BBC shills for the dark ages mindset of Islam and Mr Fitzpatrick gets no sympathy for his stance. Nothing new here, move along….
