THOSE JAKARTA "ATTACKERS"

So, Islamist homicide bombers detonate themselves in two hotels in Jakarta brutally killing several innocent people. The BBC reports this as the act of “attackers” – wonder if the word Jihadist is banned by those sensitive souls at the Beeb? Perhaps the people just “died”? Breaking the Silence Part 2

What at first seemed like a straightforward controversy over war ethics has turned into one about irresponsible journalism. The original question asked:Should soldiers be compelled to risk their own lives by adhering strictly to military rules of engagement even when, in the fog and extreme chaos of war, they are faced with an unpredictable and fanatical enemy which is under no such obligation? Now, I’m asking:Is the media ever justified in … Continue reading

MORE BUBBLY?

Ah to be at the BBC, where it’s summertime and the living is easy. The heads of BBC radio and TV stations and senior corporation management figures used public money to pay for flowers, champagne, hampers for stars and “thank you” lunches and dinners. Read the sordid details here! It’s a luvvie merry go round oand we, dear reader, fund it. That’s what makes it so special, you see. Click … Continue reading

Easy money, expensive words

The BBC have given £45,000 to the head of the Muslim Council of Britain, Muhammad Abdul Bari, to settle a legal case brought by him against the BBC for comments made by Charles Moore on Question Time in March. Charles Moore accused the MCB “leadership” of failing to condemn attacks on British soldiers, thereby implicitly condoning them, and this was deemed libellous of Mr Bari. I read Cranmer’s response to … Continue reading

DRIPPING POISON

The BBC attack on the Conservatives is ongoing. Just consider; The Andy Coulson attack story is being kept alive here. This is despite the fact that it has no no legs whatsoever. Meanwhile on the PM programme, I listened to Eddie Mair running a shock horror story about how poor old David Cameron’s Conservatives are linked to a Polish politician who allegedly made “homophobic” comments – NINE year ago! Is … Continue reading

BBC FAMILY VALUES

The traditional family unit remains the very best bastion against the growth of the State. One of the devastating consequences of decades of marriage breakdown here in the UK has been the resultant weakening of the family unit – so allowing Nanny State to enter our lives, interfere and contort things. I rather think the BBC appr0ves of this so that may go some way to explaining why a programme … Continue reading

ON CUE FROM THE LEFT…

I think that Stephen Glover has quite a perspicacious article here on the subject of how the BBC operates as a multimedia more powerful version of the Guardian. As a publicly owned broadcaster funded by the licence payer, it is supposedto eschew partisan or biased stories with a political agenda. In this case, the newspaper lobbed a grenade into David Cameron’s back yard by targetingAndy Coulson. The BBC blindly followed suit. … Continue reading
