BBC dupes of Russia?

What do you think? Ralph Peters says: “a BBC broadcast yesterday portrayed tiny, poorhouse Georgia as a propaganda powerhouse and Russia as an information victim – an illustration of the Russian propaganda machine’s effectiveness”. It fits with what I’ve observed of BBC coverage. This morning they reported in an article online that “officials say” the Russians were pulling out of Gori. Since that time I’ve heard much contrary information from … Continue reading

PREZZA TORY ATTACK!

Did anyone catch Jabba the Hut ringer John Prescott on Newsnight just now? Kirsty Wark allowed the buffoon a full five minutes rant as he made the most outrageous claims concerning what he alleged was the Tory Policy Exchange Report. This was a set piece by Newsnight to provide Labour with the opportunity to suggest the Tories hate the North, pure and simple. Kirsty did not interrupt Prezza. There has … Continue reading

Weight coverage not broad enough…

This concerns one of the most mind-numbing BBC coverage areas of recent times: the fat issue. The BBC just loves an opportunity to wax on about swollen numbers of fatties. The mass of stories are contradictory, tendentious, and depressing. There are stories like this from the deterministic point of view- and stories like this from the social conditioning point of view. All the time the BBC infuriatingly racking their brains … Continue reading

RUSSIAN MANIPULATION

. I have to say how sickened I was with the BBC’s Ten O Clock news coverage of the situation in Georgia. Rarely have I saw such blatant pro-Russia propaganda, gleefully broadcast by the BBC. Did you see it? The BBC exhibits a pride in Russian military prowess that it never could in our British forces. Revolting stuff. Click through to read and contribute comments on this post.

ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE….

Following up this morning’s faux economic good news on the Today programme, (Broadcast just before a record jump in inflation was announced) on PM Eddie Mair produced a former editor of the Economist – Bill Emmett – who declares “Crisis what crisis?” Emmett intoned that economic conditions are mild, that inflation is on the way down, food prices are falling and property prices are going to rise again, – marvelous … Continue reading

ASHAMED TO BE BRITISH?

I noticed that the “You and Yours” programme on Radio 4 at noon is running a trailer which asks “Are you ashamed to be British?” It asks if Brits deserve their bad reputation when travelling abroad. Wonder if this includes BBC journalists convicted of possessing illegal drugs? Great to see the BBC doing their best to put the great into Britain. BRING ME SUNSHINE

. Despite all the apparent economic gloom, I am sure you will have been pleased to listen to the upbeat economic assessment provided by Hugh Pym and the gang on the Today programme this morning just before 8am. It seems everything is coming up roses and excuses were generously offered up for the Great Leader – we were even told directly that the government “could not be blamed” for several … Continue reading

THOSE HUMANITARIAN TUNNELS

. I see that three Palestinians have died when a smuggling tunnel under the border between Gaza and Egypt collapsed. Five others who were inside the tunnel, near the Rafah crossing, are missing. The BBC asserts that the tunnels are used to bring fuel, weapons and other supplies into Gaza. Wonder will anyone at the BBC ask why Hamas need these weapons? Click through to read and contribute comments on this … Continue reading

PUTIN POWER

. They just love him, don’t they? I refer to Vladimir Putin and the BBC. I was watching the 10 Ten O Clock news and the BBC was slobbering over the communist thug and his all powerful command of what is happening in Georgia. Then we were presented with the revelation that only the French diplomats can save the day! My god, what next – the Belgium army to act … Continue reading
