BBC orgasmic at Obama win. I was due on BBC London this morning but was dropped. Meanwhile, I hear BBC pundits saying GOP needs to move “more to the centre” – unbelievable.
BBC going large on thepro- immigration offensive…. Stacey Dooley will examine border control in the US in the final episode of her three-part series. Every year, thousands of people risk their lives to get to the US from Mexico, facing 70 degree temperatures, rattlesnakes and a five-day trek across the Sonoran Desert. Once they reach the US, in Texas, they come across border guards whose job it is … Continue reading
There should be a law against it…oh yeah, there is…it is illegal for the BBC to take sides in any political debate….their own Charter also precludes it. Never mind, rules are made for breaking…and if the Democratic process doesn’t get the result you want….well a little rule bending must be OK in the interest of the ‘common good’. The BBC have gone for broke…and indeed broken just about … Continue reading
Further to David’s post below, here is a chance to share your views on the BBC coverage of the US election aka the Obama win the State Broadcaster yearns for! I’ll be commenting on it tomorrow morning on BBC Radio London at 8.05am
As the US at last gets to vote on the most important election in human history (it must be, to judge from the legion of BBC staff running around over here to cover it), the BBC’s coverage of the whole scene has been making me think of the following from Through the Looking Glass: ‘I can’t believe that!’ said Alice. ‘Can’t you?’ the Queen said in a pitying tone. ‘Try … Continue reading
The BBC have long refused to talk about immigration to the UK and its downsides……they now do talk about immigration….but usually immigration in other countries.….where they cherry pick what they like as ‘proof’ that immigration is beneficial…and ipso facto will be to the UK. The BBC of course sets the limits on the debate.…what can be talked about and indeed the way the debate is set up. ‘There is … Continue reading
Just adding to what David has already posted about Marr’s programme and the BBC’s coverage of the ‘Living Wage’. All in all today on the BBC seemed like one extended Labour Party Political Broadcast. We had Victoria Derbyshire giving an unopposed voice to the Fire Brigade Union who have a poster out now about The Cuts saying…. ‘They cut, You burn’. Didn’t hear any voice to naysay their propaganda. Then … Continue reading
Compare and contrast the BBC version with the Daily Mail version. What was it about the three accused – Mohammed Adulkadir Osman, and TWO unnamed 17-year-old friends – that made the BBC choose not to mention them? (h/t to open thread commenters)
As if all the other BBC reporting isn’t enough, they got their (freelance) World Service economics correspondent to ask, in the usual manner of journalists posing a question to which they’ve already decided the answer, if the poor US economy is the President’s fault. US economy: Who to blame for poor economic performance? Short answer: No. Long answer: The economy really isn’t that bad if you consider it in historical … Continue reading
