You can always rely on the cringeworthy Archbishop of Canterbury and the totally barking Camilla Batmanghelidjh to pop up on the BBC and trot out their neo-Marxist agenda without any counter point. Such is the case today with both these sopping wet leftists afforded a platform to tell us that the feral rioters of last summer were misunderstood angels with dirty faces that “we” have let down. No one asked to … Continue reading
Hello and welcome to the first post of 2012. With all the hype surrounding the new Sherlock Holmes movie, I started thinking about the old Holmes story “The adventure of the Silver Blaze”. You may have read it as itcontains this wonderful exchange; Inspector Gregory:”Is there any other point to which you would wish to draw my attention?”Holmes: “To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time.”Inspector Gregory “The dog … Continue reading
George R spotted this New Year gem in the Mail on Sunday about how the BBC were euphoric ten years ago when euro notes and coins were introduced. Actually, it’s not the first time this classic BBC ‘we love the EU’ material has been used. Glen Owen has probably recycled it from Peter Oborne’s Guilty Men paper for the CPS published in September which I highlighted here. That’s not to … Continue reading

Well, I was in the belly of the beast last night, doing the Paper Reviews on 5Live. Thanks for all your suggestions and thought I might explain how it actually works. Basically you are presented with the A4 front pages of most of the daily papers 30 minutes before you go on-air. A few of the papers have some more pages, last night the Indie and Express did. That’s a … Continue reading
Nobody would fail to feel sympathy for the family of the teenager who was stabbed to death in London’s Oxford Street during the Boxing Day sales. Who would want to see their 18 year old stabbed to death? But the BBC does test one’s patience. Just consider this… “Seydou Diarrassouba, 18, was stabbed after a fight began in the Foot Locker sports shop near Bond Street Tube station on Monday. His family … Continue reading
Just as a point of interest, I will be reviewing tomorrow’s papers on BBC R5 Live tonight at 11.30pm. First time I have had the chance to do this so tune in you get the chance or even phone in. I’ll be on for half an hour. Click through to read and contribute comments on this post.
Interesting approach the BBC takes the release of material from the National Archives concerning Northern Ireland. It COULD have used this headline “IRA leaders outside Maze controlled Hunger Strikers”. But it didn’t. It COULD have used this headline “IRA rejected Hunger Striker Deal”, But it didn’t. No, instead it spins it this way “Margaret Thatcher “negotiated with IRA”. If you read the detail, you discover she didn’t do any such thing … Continue reading
Ed Miliband must be delighted with his pals at the BBC this morning. They have been leading all their news items this morning with the results of a Labour Party survey which claims to show that the evil Coalition is behind a sharp rise in the cost of council services for elderly and disabled people. Nothing to to with the efficacy of Councils, of course, who are sitting on top … Continue reading
