BBC’s Guerin To Leave Middle East

, according to TotallyJewish.com:

An internal corporation email sent on Monday revealed that the 39-year-old, who has come under considerable fire for a perceived anti-Israel bias in her coverage, will leave Jerusalem in December to start a new posting in Johannesburg.

While Israel government press office director Danny Seaman said the corporation, rather than any one person of having been guilty of “shoddy” journalism with regards to Israel, he told TJ: “Unfortunately, despite personally liking her, she didn’t always uphold the standards of balanced and unbiased journalism one would expect.”

The announcement of former Bafta-nominated Guerin’s leaving comes weeks after the departure of another controversial correspondent Barbara Plett, who last year said she cried as a dying Yasser Arafat was airlifted from his compound.

The article concludes:

Looking to the future, Seaman said: “We hope that BBC will send an individual of professional standards worthy of journalism if not the BBC.”

I hope that the BBC will also send “an individual of professional standards worthy of journalism if not the BBC” to Johannesburg too!

There are no signs of the departures of Barbara I cried for Arafat Plett or the charming Ms. Goering being reported on the BBC’s Newswatch site or announced by the BBC Press Office yet.

The Beeb has spoken: If you’re a Brit who is proud of Lord Nelson it makes you a xenophobic French hater:

Feel the shame folks, feel the shame — if you’re British you’re obviously guilty of something horrible, like “xenophobia”, 24/7!

    Propaganda Night

    “War on Terror {1st Part of the program}

Do we really know what’s going on when the cameras aren’t rolling? One freelance journalist caught on film dramatic pictures of American soldiers burning the corpses of two men killed in fighting near Kandahar, Afghanistan. Meanwhile disputed reports of heavy civilian casualties are emerging from western Iraq where the Americans say they are defeating Iraqi fighters. So what’s the truth? Are some Americans running amok away from the prying lens of the TV cameras – or are they systematically destroying an entrenched insurgency? We’ll hear both points of view”.

“We’ll hear both points of view”? – Very f***ing unlikely.

If you are British the BBC is your enemy.

South Park lampoons the media coverage of Katrina, e.g.

Mitch: “We’re not sure what’s exactly is going on inside the town of Beaverton, Tom, but we’re reporting that there’s looting, raping and, yes, even acts of cannibalism.”

Tom: “My God, you’ve actually seen people looting, raping and eating each other?!”

Mitch: “No, no we’ve haven’t actually seen it, Tom. We’re just reporting it.”

    For Mitch read Matt?

    Rob,

If you are British the BBC is your enemy.

And the BBC is also your enemy if you are South African/Israeli.

In fact, you can be anywhere on the planet and as long as you are reasonably sane the BBC is your enemy.

    Rob Read,
“If the UK population were hugely racist how can they explain the Hindu immigrants doing vastly better financially than identical (skin colour wise) Muslim immigrants.”

Exactly! I have been pondering that for some time. Why is that?

I have many many Indian friends (Hindu) and they are such nice people.

I’m just confused about the whole thing (and pissed off)

    What is Islams issue?

As for the US and Britain being “too close”, it’s obvious that the BBC is trying to make sure they drive a wedge between us with this type of reporting. I’m worried they’ll eventually succeed if something isn’t done about it. Because unlike those of us Yanks who have access to the internet and blogs like this, other Yanks are seeing this hatred and thinking it’s all there is in Britain. Unfortunately, our media doesn’t show the views from Britain expressed here. And that’s a bad thing.

You can’t make friends with infidels.
You have to take around 5 30minute breaks during a working day to pray.
Your religion is also your state.
Its OK to lie to khaffirs.
No mixing of the sexes leads to massive male frustration, and thus gangs of rapists.
Everythings in the Koran, why learn anything else?
Lastly a massive smashed superiority complex where Muslims are told that following the religion will make heaven on earth, but it’s obviously untrue. The faithful are just trying to destroy the evidence of their own eyes.

What is Islam’s issue? Islam of course! As with every other religion they are prepared to believe in things that they cannot possibly know and never will. In most other religions in modern times, that is where it ends. Islam is different inasmuch that some of its its adherents are prepared to kill themselves and you to prove that they are right about what they cannot possibly know and never will. Moreover it seems pretty obvious from recent events that despite the weasel words of ‘moderate’ Muslims, they all approve of the so called ‘martyrs’ and their aims.

This morning Radio 5 Live (tabloid radio) had an interview with Phyllis BEnnis – described as “Middle East Expert” excusing the Hitlerite rantings of Iran’s President and deciding he was very right – why doesn’t BBC use adjectives to describe the political stance of Phyllis Bennis ?

Further, on BBC Radio 4 Any Answers yesterday, every caller bar one former resident of Israel, excused the Iranian President – one even claiming it was a US plot to provoke war with Iran and another bemoaning the collapse of the USSR and hoping China would stand up with them against Israel and the US.

Yet another called in to condemn Blair for his words condeming the Iranian President and saying he should just have ridiculed it (and presumably welcomed their acquisition of nuclear weapons)

Either the BBC switchboard had a problem with its callers on Saturday or it had a large audience among those with severe mental problems.
