It’s a small, sad world.

In the previous post I mentioned Israelis killed by suicide bombers in pizza parlours. The crime I had in mind was the massacre at the Sbarro pizza restaurant on August 9 2001. One of the victims was a 15 year old girl called Malka Chana Roth, nicknamed “Malki”.

Malki’s parents have a blog called This Ongoing War.

Many commenters and other blogs have already pointed out this post: A Word About the BBC

Many thanks for alerting people to the “This Ongoing War” blog that my wife and I write in memory of Malki. I hope you won’t mind my mentioning the entirely non-political work we do in her name, described on the Keren Malki website: http://www.kerenmalki.org

(Keren is Hebrew for foundation. Thus, Keren Malki means ‘the Malki Foundation’.)

Writing about how the mainstream media get things so seriously wrong (which is what we do at http://thisongoingwar.blogspot.com) is a need driven by our deep frustration.

The Malki Foundation is an entirely different matter. There, as unpaid founder/directors (with the help of one dedicated, full-time general manager), we deliver practical solutions for many hundreds of families of all faiths in this country who are caring at home for a disabled child. (The number grows steadily month after month.) That’s how we honour our daughter Malki’s memory. Your readers are cordially invited to visit http://www.kerenmalki.org

    Thank you.

May I say that the BBC does not represent the views of the British people only the elitist left. Good luck in your endevour – if more people could see the injustice that the BBC causes to the innocent Israeli victims of terrorism it may hasten the end for the one sided bias of the MSM.

Arnold, may the Lord continue to comfort you and all the children of Israel.

May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

sorry for posting this again – but here it is:
    http://www.israel-mfa.gov.il/MFA/Terrorism-%20Obstacle%20to%20Peace/Memorial/2000/In%20Memory%20of%20the%20Victims%20of%20Palestinian%20Violence%20a

Malka Chana Roth is listed on there.

click on each and every link , and then try to understand where Israel is coming from.

bear in mind , that we in the UK had a 2 minute silence over just ONE terrorist attack last July.

look at that list – that is what the Israelis have to deal with.

i hate to say it, but we are wimps by comparision, what with our big woo-hah about the tube bombings – and yet, the Israelis live through such things every month since their state was formed.

And then we (and in us Brits) have to gall to allow a BBC to take pot shots at the Israelis at every opportunity.

    its shameful. it really is.
    we need to change that.

Thanks again for the link, Archduke… it certainly helps if you give the victims of terrorism a name/face.

I wonder if Al Beeb will link to that website.

    Arnold Roth,

As I’m sure you know, many Israelis take the view that the world hates Israelis/Jews, always will, and there’s nothing we can do about it.

I differ on that. If we let the lies, slurs and propaganda stand, it’s as if we silently accept guilt. So we have no choice but to counter the bias at every opportunity.

God bless and keep up the good work. Your blog is a real treasure.

    Here’s more injustice from al-beeb:
The BBC’s sympathies were broadcast by Nick Thorpe on BBC Radio and transcribed on to BBC Online where he describes his journey through Israel to Lebanon: “Driving down Highway 60 – the spine of the superstructure Israel has built on the West Bank – one understands the resentment and the sense of oppression the Palestinians feel.

Smart, middle-class Israeli settlements have sprung up on virgin hillsides, watered by springs often diverted from Palestinian villages.

Tunnels and fences have been erected by the occupier to keep Palestinians away from Israeli roads, Israeli settlements and Israeli soldiers.

Increasingly confined by barriers and checkpoints into little reservations, it is little wonder that Palestinians applaud Sheikh Nasrallah, the spiritual head of the Hezbollah, when he calls for the release of some of the thousands of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.”

Proof that this Thorpe character does not understand Israeli society is his use of the British term ‘middle class’.
There is no ‘class’ system in Israel. The term is also offensive to Israelis.

Those here doing their best to stop it excepted, of course, but there is little sign that Brits in general know their responibility for what the BBC does. It isn’t enough to just say things like “We know the BBC is biased” or “We don’t believe it anymore.” That’s just Brits washing their hands of their responsibility.

Words are the most powerful wepaons in the world. They move masses of people. The BBC broadcasts this stuff in 43 languages to what? 1 billion people throughout the world?

    It is killing people!

Is that “a nation speaking peace unto nations” or being “the greatest threat to peace in the world.” One could make a heckuva case for saying the latter.

The British people are paying for it, so they are responsible for it, so they have a responsibility to stop it. Now.
