ACCURACY UP IN SMOKE

. I was reading the latest instance of Nanny Statism, faithfully reported by the State Broadcaster. This wheeze involves paying smokers in the poorest areas of Dundee £150 worth of groceries from the NHS if they are able to give up cigarettes. Let’s leave aside the obvious stupidity of this which I am sure the more ingenuous Dundee smokers will quickly exploit. The BBC plainly states “There are 36,000 smokers in Dundee, about half of whom live in poverty. “ Wrong. There are not. The BBC is referring to the Government and NGO definition of relative poverty – a left wing invention in recent years to enable them to shakedown more of our taxes for their favoured client groups. In repeatedly making this claim the State Broadcaster advances a leftist agenda proving once again that it cannot be trusted to give us just facts rather than spewing out propaganda.

So naturally the poor poverty stricken Dundee-ites aren’t able to make proper decisions for themselves.
So YOUR TAX MONEY is used to induce these poor poor poverty victims to do the right thing.
Simple question. Shouldn’t giving up ciggie butts leave a little extra GROCERY money anyway?
Lastly, since when did free choices make in a free country require the approval of government? Why shouldn’t I too get money for not smoking?
    Shouldn’t everyone?
Like I keep telling you friends, LIBERALS spend YOUR MONEY on their constituencies. Liberals buy votes with your money.

I just wonder how long before those with these electronic cards start selling them on for fags?

It’s just another example of the socialist nanny state.

Oh it gets worse in America. Here in New York, Mayor Bloomberg has been experimenting with a scheme to pay poor people reward money to persuade them to take responsibility for their kids. Take them to school every day? Receive $100. Take them to the dentist? Receive $50. Get them library membership? Receive $50. It’s like paying people to stay poor and ignorant.

Right now they’re funding it with private money (suckers) with a view towards eventually taking it from the public purse (scumsuckers).

Kind of like the “prejudice plus power” definition they let slip they had been using in years gone by to decide whether crimes were racist or not (ethnic minority on white of course).

I need to move to Dundee and “give up” smoking.

Of course, I have NEVER smoked in my life.

But they don’t know that! Pip pip.
