This past week has carries stories of plummeting moralE, now abuse, compensations for torture – you name it and the BBC have run it. It really sickens me to see the evident delight that the BBC takes in running down our brave men and women who serve this country so diligently, in the teeth of a savage enemy.

A logical assertion I grant you.
However IMO a wholly mistaken one, which you can not possibly have any evidence for. As I do not many of my conspiracy theories. Other then circumstantial evidence, that will never be tested in court for obvious reasons. That is the Courts are wholly and totally controlled by the same establishment that the BBC is controlled by.
This war was never popular either in The UK or The USA, and it is far less popular now then it was when it started. In spite of this we are no closer to leaving then we where 3 years ago. Obama and Cameron will do as they are told to do by the people that bank role them and whats left of their respective countries economy’s.
If Jihadists are waiting for the western media to do there job for them they will be dieing and losing for a long time yet in vain.
The BBC is no ones friend Muslim Christian atheist or Jew. It is a construct of the British establishment designed wholly for the interests of that same British establishment.
The BBC is trusted only by fools. Jihadists as you call them, are not fools and neither are people like Mugabe. Which is why if any of them can help it no real of potential enemies of the British establishment let the BBC any where near their own country’s.
This in spite of the understandable observation many may make that the BBC has always given murderous dictators like Mugabe a soft ride.
THEY KNOW what the BBC is all about and who is controlling it, even if the British people seem to have absolutely no idea whatsoever.
They know FOR 100% SURE, even if you David Vance seem unaware of the obvious fact, that the BBC is rotten with MI6 agents, and would not know what reporting the REAL truth was if it was attached to a marital aid and inserted where the BBC’s sun never shines.
The TRUTH and the BBC have not suddenly become divorced or happily living separate lives, sometime in the last 10-20 years.

I had hoped it was a link telling us the BBC was to be scrapped.

I was listening to the Radio on Sat am and heard a piece led up to by a rant about ‘50% want to quit the army – the because it is demoralised with all these pointless and unwinnable wars etc etc’. Nevertheless, the BBC chimes in, there was a time when there were real, moral, causes for which people willingly took up arms.
We were them treated to twenty minutes of horrific and sycophantic ars*e licking. Yes the BBC have found a 92 year old unrepentant communist who ‘fought fascism’ on the side of Stalin during the Spanish civil war. We were treated by the BBC to everything in the pantheon of 30’s heroism starting with cable street, through dealing with wounded comrades and ending with “then the massacres really began when Franco took Madrid…”
I was sickened by the failure of the BBC to ask what the internationalists were fighting for rather than against. Many of them were fully committed to Stalinist purges of the population and approved the murder of the bourgeoisie (see Homage to Catalonia) The old comrade himself said that the whole trip to Spain was organised by the communist party. The same bunch that were murdering millions in the East at the time. The moral argument about fighting fascism is utterly hollow (although unchallenged by the ignorant and fellow-traveling BBC)as British Communists a) campaigned in the mid 30’s for total disarmanemt and the abolition of the ‘provocative’ RAF and b) were strictly enjoined not to fight the Germans after was broke out in 1939 – they wouldn’t fight an imperialist capitalist war. Strangely this opinion changed into strident demands for a “second front now” as soon as the Nazis attacked the USSR in 1941
To top it all off at the end of this piece of historically bankrupt crawling, the odious Will Self (whenever has a surname been more appropriate) was asked if ‘the cause’ would have had him taking up arms. “Almost certainly” he said. This is a cause that in my view is morally equivalent to the Nazis.
Final thought – do we believe that the BBC would do a puff piece for the morally committed Irish catholics who formed a brigade to fight for Franco?

Home-made Mortars? These were used by the IRA, but the Taliban have no need, they’ve plenty of the real thing, left behind by the Russians, or supplied by Pakistan or Iran.

I have personally been on the wrong end of improvised mortars in Ulster and Iranian made mortars in Baghdad.
I am also qualified in Advanced Demolitions with UK Special Forces. So yes I do know what an improvised mortar is.
