QUESTION TIME WATCH

It’s on – and lots of fun.Your comments? Thus far the concept of the free market is being beaten up on with Lib-Dem Chris Huhne and John Denham leading the charge. More sovietisation of the economy please and back to the early ’70’s. Usual moonbats in the audience -higher taxes all round and sod the “rich”. Nice to see that fat bloated traitor Ken Clark patronise Sarah Palin to tumultuous applause. I suppose it slipped his mind that another female politician from humble stock rose to a position as one of the greatest leaders of the Conservative Party. It was bash Palin night amongst the spawn on the panel – no mention of lyin’ Joe Biden.

Hey, what’s happening to the comments on this blog? I could have sworn I gave korova a thrashing earlier, and now the post seems to have gone. Is there some kind of jiggery-pokery afoot?

Ah, it’s back. But I also notice that “Kill the Beeb” has had an extra glass of sherry tonight.

why all this garbage about obama and mccain. they’re both fine candidates. read the current economist for a thorough and dispassionate analysis of what they stand for. but all this guilt by association stuff is pandering to the smears from both sides that soil this election. both would be fine presidents. and they would govern from either side of the centre.

sorry about all the trolling from Korova – just saw it. The series of pointless comments just de-railed the substance of the thread. I will deal with it. That’s the problem with an open board – the freaks can infest the thread and I cannot stop them until I become aware of it. The best advice I can offer is that afforded to me when I first came here – don’t feed them. Starve them.

Kill the Beeb and Korova have now gone to the waiting 72 virgins, metaphorically speaking. No doubt they will slither in another way but for now…

How come there is a question about Sarah Palin EVERY week on Question Time? Are “cross samples” of the British public really that obsessed with her?

Meanwhile a twice disgraced minister is reinstated and our PM collapses in fits of laughter about the banking crisis, serious politicians blah, blah, blah.

emil: Plain has just become the new hate figure. I heard a comment from the awful Ruth Lee who attacked Palin for being a creationist. But wasn’t there some god botherer on the panel as well?

    http://www.politics.co.uk/opinion-formers/press-releases/opinion-former-index/education/bha-humanists-%E2%80%9Cappalled%E2%80%9D-that-creationism-taught-in-40-uk-schools-$1230099$365873.htm

Would they attack a Muslim for being a creationist?

How come these morons in the public don’t think about the fact more and more UK schools are ACTUALLY teaching creationism in our schools, yet Palin has never said she wanted it taught?

Ruth Lee also mis quoted Palin over the “I can see Russia” comment. As we all kjnow here that was a poorly edited piece by ABC and the transcript has shown that to be a badly done piece.

GIBSON: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?

PALIN: They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.

    http://justoneminute.typepad.com/main/2008/09/was-abc-news-ki.html

AS you can see it was GIBSON that led the question about Russia being so close to Alaska, not Palin.

Korova’s blog is always worth a visit to play ‘count the comments’.

31 magnificent postings, full of widom and deep thought, have attracted FOURTEEN commments. Oh, hold on, four of those are Korova’s own.

Rather sad and tumbleweedy, really. No wonder he keeps coming here for social interaction of some sort.

Actually based on my experience even “man on the clapham omnibus” with zero interest in british politics, let alone US, is fascinated by Palin.

Yes, but not in the sort of obsessive way as to ask a BBC QT panel about her.

I think the audiences on Question time are “LOADED” to say the least.

As for kill the beebs comments, I think he was doing comedy (found it quite funny) not trolling.

    Korova

I don’t know where you get the idea that McCain’s pal John Hagee is “an anti-semite”.

Pastor Hagee is the chairman of Christians United for Israel.

That organization held a conference in DC where the keynote speaker was Joe Lieberman.

Ambassador Dore Gold of Israel also attended.

Christians United for Israel support many things I suspect you disagree with, for example:

    1. Israel’s claims to the disputed territories of Judea and Samaria
    &
2.A pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear sites.

Personally, I find Christians United for Israel a bit worrying when they go on about how it would be a good thing to have Armageddon, the Rapture etc as soon as possible.

Crazy in their eschatology they may be; anti-semites they ain’t.

Do they boost the sound during the applause for pro-Labour comments and soundbites from the audience?

In last night’s QT there was a powerful round of applause to a usual “knock the Tories comment”, but as the camera pulled back into a wide angled shot covering most of the room, very few of the audience could be seen clapping. Certainly what I could see on the screen didn’t seem to fit in with the level of sound.

Perhaps they round up a second group of supporters which are not so photogenic so are kept in a separate room off camera but miked?!

I wonder if Korova will show the same level of hysteria after seeing the video of Louis Farakhan endorsing Obama as the Messiah who is going to change the world as president.

    Now there’s an anti semite.

I have to say I thought the show was fairly balanced right up until the Sarah Palin question came up. As soon as Ruth Lea started spouting utter nonsense about that tv interview (edited to look bad of course) I then had to turn the tv off before I did some serious damage to it. My opinion of Ruth Lea has now been downgraded to ‘ugly stupid tosser’.

What seems odd to me about Palin bashers is that they have nothing good to say about anyone.

I don’t much like Palin myself but the incendiary wrath of hatred – pure, unsullied hatred – is astonishing. Not only that but it’s all-consuming and completely un-self-aware. I’m a natural democrat supporter but it’s very depressing to be associated with such jam-for-brains thinking which ironically runs counter to the whole notion of supporting them in the first place.

All you’ve got to do is call Palin a moose hunter and lo! rapturous laughter and applause…well on the BBC anyway. A marvellous institution which reflects my own views to a tee. Of course I’m not going to admit it’s biased!

Unlike many of the posters here , I have listened to a number of John Hagee’s sermons
Far from being an anti-semite , like a lot of evangelical Pastors he is a ferverent supporter of Isreal
    (this from his website )
    Pastor Hagee
    Senior Pastor Cornerstone Church
Pastor John Hagee is the founder and Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, a nondenominational, evangelical church with more than 19,000 active members.

He is also the founder of John Hagee Ministries which broadcast the Gospel in America and over 200 countries around the globe through radio and television.

After actively supporting Israel and the Jewish people for more than 26 years, Pastor Hagee recently established Christians United for Israel, which provides a national association through which every pro—Israel church, para-church organization, ministry or individual in America can speak and act with one voice in support of Israel in matters related to biblical issues. Over 75,000 leaders are currently part of Christians United for Israel.

He has authored 23 major books ranging in topics from prophecy, marriage, family, biblical business principles and Israel. His most current writing is “In Defense of Israel” published by Strang Publications.

If anything I have noticed he does have a problem with the Catholic church and with “Godless europeans ”
but anti-semite ? maybe Korova has a definition of anti-sematism all of his own.

maybe Korova has a definition of anti-sematism all of his own.

If you’ve seen previous exercises here by korova, or had the stomach to look at his blog, I think you’ll find that he has his own definition of a lot of things.

There’s a good brain there, actually, but it sure isn’t used properly.

The thing is, even if you convince his kind that Hagee (or someone similar, say, the Governor of Alaska) isn’t an anti-Semite, he and his kind will merely resort to attacks on Hagee’s (or Palin’s) intelligence for believing whatever else they believe. Korova, much like Justin Webb when it comes to this subject, is merely trolling. It’s an emotional reaction without substance.

“It’s an emotional reaction without substance”

And there in lies the problem for all left wing thinking. It relies on emotion to guide them, and not logical or rational thought. If humans relied on emotion all the time we’d be constantly at war and still living in caves. That is where the left will take us if we’re not careful.
