So this is it. We’ll soon know whether all the work; all the campaigning; all the speeches; all the infomercials have paid off: Have Webb, Frei and the rest of the Beeb done enough to get their man elected? It’s a big night for students of BBC bias, too. If Obama wins as expected will they be able to hide their glee? If there’s an upset and he loses, will there be tears? There’s 175 BBC staff over there, so too much to cover. Over to you, then…
The Beeb goes to the polls

The coverage by radio 4 this morning is just nauseous. I wanted Obama to win but the BBC is just on cloud 9 this morning ramming it down our white racists throats that a ‘black man’ has now got the presidency.

MikeWineLiberal, how many times does it need to be said?
We don’t care how biased the other broadcasters are, the BBC are funded by us with threats of prison and they have a duty to be impartial.
A duty they fail on every given occasion.

Listen, if anyone on here (or at the Beeb, come to that) think that the BBC had ANY influence on the way Americans voted, you’re kidding no-one but yourselves.
But yes, the BBC partisanship and lack of impatiality during the lengthy campaign has been appalling. Nothing will be done about it though. Nothing will change.

But why say it?
according to Freakonomics, one’s first name is a more reliable indicator of one’s life chances than any other.

The BBC drones just can’t see anything for colour can they? If I was black I would feel so utterly patronized by someone fawning over me and keen for me to succeed just by virtue of my colour.
When Beeboids see blacks in the street, do they resist the urge to rush over to assist them like blind men crossing the street.
What I don’t understand is why all this simpering and fawning and leg-ups to blacks stops short of the chief executive comittee of the BBC. Not a black face in sight – and it’s hardly the Whitehouse is it?

Kill the Beeb:
You’ve hit the nail on the head here, me thinks. You said, “If I was black I would feel so utterly patronized by someone fawning over me and keen for me to succeed just by virtue of my colour.”
Turn that around: you are black and everyone is patronizing you and fawning over you, helping you succeed JUST because you are black – but you see it as advantage, and you encourage it and you revel in it and you use it to get power – all the way to president.
That’s who the O is, under it all.

Well, having just endured the BBC’s 10 o’clock news I feel I can safely conclude that Obama won the US election because he was black – that is all that matters about him and that is absolutely fine by them.
I’m glad we have finally established that.

The polls weren’t right, they were just bias to anyone who wasn’t a member of the left-wing illuminati, and so the right supporters stayed home.

I’m happy to have stumbled upon this blog.
I’m from the US. I just watched a show on Mary Whitehouse and laughed aloud while I was typing this because I heard the ‘Doctor Who’ music in the background – thought to myself “oh now she’s gonna get mad about the Dr.”.
I spent three weeks in England almost a year ago.
I don’t believe you have to pay to watch one-sided TV in the UK!
When I was there, I stayed in an apartment with SKY, but I watched a lot of BBC and could not believe a lot of the leftist only thoughts. It would be one thing if it was free, like basic TV is in America. Not to mention, it is not cheap. I can’t believe the cost of the license for BBC!
I tend not to identify myself with a political party anymore, but I have been somewhat disgusted with the coverage of American and British TV (and other TV) with Obama. He’s not the second coming of Christ or some ‘rock star’.
Bush was certainly not the best president the US has seen, and McCain certainly would not be the best either.
I am just kind of angry towards the BBC as I have always watched their news coverage on US PBS and BBC America for a second opinion and voice of reason.
I have always enjoyed quite a few of the shows they broadcast like Kitchen Nightmares, The Office, Skins, As Time Goes By, Vicar, Young Ones(MTV), The lady who tells overweight people to only eat vegetables and examines their poo, etc.
Years ago I also became a huge fan of Junkyard Wars (Scrapheap Challenge), The Secret Life of Machines, and Connections on TLC.
I’ll be reading more on this blog for sure.
