HAVE HAMAS LEFT HAMASTAN?

I am puzzled that the world media has not reported the startling news that Hamas have left Gaza. That is certainly the impression the BBC conveys because in its latest reports on the cleansing of Gaza, it reports that 391 “Palestinians” have been killed so far. Yes, but apparently not one of these has been a Hamas terrorist. So, as in Lebanon in 2006, the BBC refuses to number how many of the dead are Islamic Jihadi militia and instead lumps them all into one big convenient number which is then used to portray Israel as the cruel oppressor of poor innocent Arabs. I also note the continued pro-Hamas testimony of Jeremy Bowen, a man who makes Orla Guerin seem objective on Middle Eastern affairs! It would a lot more honest if the BBC just came clean, admitted they loath Israel and are license payer funded shills for the so-called Palestinians. The pretence of neutrality is so risible as to beyond parody.

I watched the BBC TV news last night, first time in ages, and was impressed by quite how blatantly
biased Jeremy Bowen was in his “reporting”. Jeremy Bowen and the BBC must be absolutely certain of the correctness of their position to be so biased in their reporting. The underlying bile directed at Israel and the total acceptance of all their Hamas stringers are telling them would shame a proper journalist, the BBC seem to feel no shame.

    Ed:
“Many Thanks. First, the easy bit; always be quite clear about which side is right and which is wrong. Always select your friendly interviewees from the UN or someone from an aid organisation. Begin, gently, with some penetrating question such as:

    1. What is life like in beleaguered war zone Gaza?

    2. How does that make you feel?

    3. Do you think it is fair that nearly all the casualties are innocent women and children?

    4. Tell us about all the medical equipment you haven’t got.

    5. Don’t mention the rockets. I DID THAT ONCE but I think I got away with it.

Hostile interviewees should have impenetrable accents. (Doesn’t matter what you ask as the answer will be unintelligible.) This is not always possible, in which case I ask:

    1. Have you no sympathy with your victims?

Cut short the interview for either the weather forecast or the football.”

    Lecturer:

So when is al-beeb going to tell us that the Israelis phone the occupants of the Hamas dwelling they are intending to obliterate? This gives the terrorists (the T word) warning to clear out and has saved many lives. Hamas does this before they try to kill Israeli children? Sure, ask al-Bowen. In that famous, overused phrase, ‘international law’, Israel is always the violator. Fact is though they do practice the Rule of Distinction, phoning is just one, in their targeting. You can find this, Mr al-Bowen in Article 1 of the Genocide Convention. It’s all there for your twisting.

    excerpt:
“As I write, Hizbollah flags flutter in the Kensington streets outside my Embassy. Agitators hail the Hamas leadership that created the crisis. In Gaza, protestors dissenting against Hamas face the death sentence. With the blessing of Iran and Hizbollah, Hamas has turned Gaza into a theocratic nightmare.
Al-Hayat last Wednesday reported Hamas’s new laws enforcing punishments of whipping for drinking, dismembering for theft, and executions for a host of ambiguous crimes. “Games of chance” are also to be punished with the whip. Ironically, Hamas continues to gamble with Palestinian lives.
Hamas is committed to Islamism at its bloodiest, and Israel is not its only target.”

All right, Boba Fett, I’ll give you reason.

At this very moment there is an item on BBC website, linked from the top of the front page. It claims that in Gaza ‘Food is beginning to become a major issue. Only two weeks ago the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) suspended the distribution of food in Gaza because of shortages.’ This claim is repeated in different words three times. The source is one ‘Hatem Shurrab’ who is described as ‘an aid worker in Gaza with the British-based charity Islamic Relief Worldwide.’
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7802295.stm

The BBC does not report at all a contradicting statement released by the Israeli government: ‘Ninety three trucks, with approximately 2500 tons of humanitarian aid, medical supplies and medication were conveyed through “Kerem Shalom” cargo terminal. The World Food Program has informed Israel that they will not be resuming shipment of food commodities in to Gaza due to the fact that their
warehouses are at full capacity and will last for approximately two weeks.’
    http://www.imra.org.il/story.php3?id=42061

Now both sources are equally partial. Since they cannot both be true, an honest journalist would check the facts behind them before reporting this way or the other. For instance, enquire with the World Food Progamme. But the BBC does nothing of the sort. It simply gives credence to the Islamic side and ignores the Israeli side.

You call this journalism? I call it being the mouthpiece for the propaganda of one side without doing any real journalistic work.

Battersea, the trick is simple. The UN people on site on UNRWA people. All UN statements on the situation in Gaza come from them.
An objective UN source? Not by UNRWA’s own website, that proudly informs us that:
‘UNRWA employs some 24,324 staff, of whom more than 99 per cent are locally-recruited Palestinians’

In other words, this is an interested side masquerading as impartial international source.

I don’t know! One minute Hamas is a legitimate democratically elected body that states that all Israelis are legitimate targets, next minute all those uniformed corpses are innocent “Palestinian” civillians who only want peace.

I don’t know. You don’t know. Unless I sneak into Gaza, avoiding explosions as I go, crawling through the rubble to find the bodies, and then what? How do I know if they are civilian or not?

Agreed. Both you, and your venerated idols at the BBC seem to know very little indeed. Despite the fact that they are in constant touch with Hamas, and employ their sympathisers and supporters as producers stringers and reporters. I listened to gentleman Ed Stourton this morning.

How would you suggest the BBC find out?

And you are trying to argue that not specifiying this in their reports is bias? It would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.

Bias by omission is bias; not funny, and indeed tragic.

Looking at the online report you link to,

Hamas leader killed in air strike
A senior Hamas leader has been killed by an Israeli air strike on his home in the Gaza Strip, Hamas officials say. Nizar Rayyan, the most senior Hamas figure to be killed since 2004, had urged suicide attacks against Israel.
Hamas considered Mr Rayyan to be a political leader, but he often wore a military uniform and was close to the group’s armed wing. Until now, political leaders have not been killed. The BBC’s Mike Sergeant, in Jerusalem, says this may further strengthen the determination of Hamas to resist the Israeli air assault.

    Here are a few facts about Nizar Rayyan the bBC haven’t bothered to inform the British Public about;
He was one of the planners behind a terrorist attack on the port of Ashdod in 2004 that killed 10 Israelis
In 2002 sent one of his sons on a suicide bombing mission to the Gaza settlement of Alei Sinai
A lecturer on Islamic shariah law at the Islamic University in Gaza

“What constitutes the ‘U.N.’ in Gaza?”

    [Extract]:

“But the main point that needs to be made is this: it is that the word ‘United Nations’ here deeply misleads. In Gaza, the United Nations is entirely an Arab affair. There may be, for the purposes of plausibility, merely a Western collaborator with the Arab cause, at the very top. But the staffs of UNRWA, in Gaza as elsewhere, and the U.N. personnel in Gaza, as everywhere else having to do with the ‘Palestinian’ Arabs, is from top to bottom Arab. It is not the ‘United Nations’ that is putting out this figure about ‘civilian’ casualties. It is Arabs working for the local and immediate Arab cause — that is, the never-to-be-ended Jihad against the Infidel nation-state of Israel.” (Hugh Fitzgerald).

There seems to be no attempt by the BBC or the MSM to accurately describe the situation Israel is really in .
As I see it Israel faces implacable enemies on 3 fronts- Gaza, Lebanon( Hizbollah) and Syria. In addition if Egypt is destabalised as Iran wishes a fourth front appears. The West bank , although quiet, is another potential battlezone.
Should Israel wait until it is attacked on 2 or 3 fronts simultaneously? Or should, as it has done, launch an unexpected pre-emptive attack on one front and thus maybe pre- empt a co-ordinated assault which would stretch the Israeli forces and could lead to disaster.
Perhaps the very success of the Israeli assault is what is driving the apologists to such rage and bile.
    Time will tell.

Iran Nobel laureate accused of Israeli bias: activist
TEHRAN (Reuters) – Some 150 protesters stood outside the home and office of Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi on Thursday accusing her of sympathy for Israel, the Islamic state’s foe, a member of her human rights group said. Abdulreza Tajik, of the Human Rights Defenders Centre led by Ebadi, said he believed they were student members of the Basij religious militia. The crowd tore down a sign of Ebadi’s law practice and trampled on it, he told Reuters.
